Ouri Wolfson's main research interests are in big data, distributed systems, mobile/pervasive computing, smart city, and connect omics. He received his B.A. degree in mathematics, and his Ph.D. degree in computer science from Courant Institute of Mathematical Sciences, New York University. He is currently the Richard and Loan Hill Professor of Computer Science at the University of Illinois at Chicago, and an Affiliate Professor in the Department of Computer Science at the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign. He is the founder of Mobitrac, a high-tech startup that was acquired by Fluensee Co.; and the founder and president of Pirouette Software Inc. which specializes in mobile data management. He served as a consultant to Argonne National Laboratory, US Army Research Laboratories, DARPA, and NASA. Before joining the University of Illinois he has been on the computer science faculty at the Technion and Columbia University, and a Member of Technical Staff at Bell Laboratories. Ouri Wolfson authored over 230 publications, and holds seven patents. He is a Fellow of the Association of Computing Machinery (ACM), a Fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS), a Fellow of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), and a University of Illinois Scholar for 2009. He co-authored seven award winning papers, and served as a Distinguished Lecturer for the Association of Computing Machinery. Wolfson was the keynote and distinguished speaker at leading conferences and universities, most recently the The Eighth International Conference on Big Data Analytics (BDA2020) , Dec. 2020, and the International Conference on Transport and Smart Cities (ICoTS 2021) , Sept. 2021. Ouri Wolfson is the Editor in Chief of the MDPI Journal of Future Transportation , Specialty Chief Editor of Frontiers' Smart Technologies and Cities , and serves on the editorial boards of several journals. He chaired leading conferences, most recently he was the program co-chair of the 2020 Mobile Data Management (MDM) conference. His research has been funded by the National Science Foundation (NSF), Air Force Office of Scientific Research (AFOSR), Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA), NATO, US Army, NASA, the New York State Science and Technology Foundation, Hughes Research Laboratories, Informix, Accenture, and Hitachi Co. During 2006-2015 he served as the Principal Investigator on a $3.1M NSF grant to establish a Ph.D. program in the new discipline of Computational Transportation Science.

Wenwu Wang is a Professor in Signal Processing and Machine Learning, and a Co-Director of the Machine Audition Lab within the Centre for Vision Speech and Signal Processing, University of Surrey, UK. He is also an AI Fellow at the Surrey Institute for People Centred Artificial Intelligence. His current research interests include signal processing, machine learning and perception, artificial intelligence, machine audition (listening), and statistical anomaly detection. He has (co)-authored over 300 papers in these areas. He has been involved as Principal or Co-Investigator in more than 30 research projects, funded by UK and EU research councils, and industry (e.g. BBC, NPL, Samsung, Tencent, Huawei, Saab, Atlas, and Kaon) with grant portfolio of over £30M. He is a (co-)author or (co-)recipient of over 15 awards including the 2022 IEEE Signal Processing Society Young Author Best Paper Award, ICAUS 2021 Best Paper Award, DCASE 2020 and 2023 Judge’s Award, DCASE 2019 and 2020 Reproducible System Award, LVA/ICA 2018 Best Student Paper Award, FSDM 2016 Best Oral Presentation, and Dstl Challenge 2012 Best Solution Award. He has been an invited keynote or plenary speaker on more than 20 international conferences and workshops, and a member of the technical program committee for more than 100 international conferences or workshops.

Dr. George Bollas is the Pratt & Whitney Endowed Chair Professor in Advanced Systems Engineering with the Chemical & Biomolecular Engineering Department at UConn. He is also the Director of the Pratt & Whitney Institute for Advanced Systems Engineering at UConn. Prior to joining UConn, he was a postdoctoral fellow at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and before that he received his BS and PhD in Chemical Engineering from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki in Greece. His interdisciplinary research merges the fields of energy technology, process systems engineering and model-based systems engineering. His laboratory pursues a balanced approach to information theory for the design, optimization, control, operation, and maintenance of cyber-physical systems, with applications on energy, chemical industry, manufacturing, naval and the aerospace industry. Dr. Bollas is the recipient of the NSF CAREER and ACS PRF Doctoral New Investigator awards; the UConn Mentorship Excellence award; the UConn School of Engineering Dean’s Excellence award; AIChE Teacher of Year award; and the Chemical & Biomolecular Department Service award. He was a member of the 2016 Frontier of Engineering Education of the NAE and was elected as member of the Connecticut Academy of Science and Engineering in 2020. He has partnered with over 100 industry professionals and executives in generating and managing funding for UConn that exceeds $40M leading to joint R&D, technology, patents, and professional training programs. He manages a portfolio of over $7M in research projects, while his Institute manages active research funding that totals over $30M.

Dr. Sergey Ponomarenko obtained his Ph.D. degree in optical physics from the University of Rochester USA under the tutelage of the pioneer of optical coherence theory Late Professor Emil Wolf. Dr. Ponomarenko joined the faculty of Dalhousie University, Canada in 2006 after having completed a prestigious three-year Director’s Postdoctoral tenure at Los Alamos National Laboratory, USA. Dr. Ponomarenko was awarded a prestigious and fiercely competitive Canada Research Chair for a five-year term which he successfully renewed in 2011 up to a maximum allowed ten-year term. Dr. Ponomarenko’s research interests are in the areas of structured light, especially structured random light and its applications to optical imaging, sensing, and free-space optical communications, space-time coupled light, classical entanglement, topological optical effects, as well as wave packet revivals and their applications

Dr. Yichang (James) Tsai is a professor in the School of Civil and Environmental Engineering and also an adjunct professor in the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering (CEE) at Georgia Tech. He is currently the Group leader of Construction and Infrastructure Systems Engineering (CISE) in CEE at Georgia Tech. Dr. Tsai received his Ph.D. (1996) and MS (1994) from Georgia Tech.He received his BS (1987) from National Chung Hsing University in Taiwan. Dr. Tsai’s research focuses on applying sensing technologies (3D laser, Lidar and smart phone technologies), computer vision, AI, and GIS spatial analysis to 1) automated pavement condition evaluation and asset management, 2) transportation safety, 3) vehicle energy-emission reduction and 4) safe mobility of aging population.Dr. Tsai has developed and successfully implemented the complex, large-scale, GIS-based, Risk-based Georgia Pavement Management System (GPAMS) for the Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT). GDOT has used this system to assess, preserve, and manage its 18,000 centerline miles of highway over the past 20 years. Dr. Tsai is a worldwide leader in the development and implementation of automated pavement distress detection and diagnosis (e.g., cracking, rutting, pothole, raveling, etc.), using 3D laser technology with computer vision and machine learning. Dr. Tsai’s leadership has great national impact as evidenced by his development of an open-format 2D/3D Pavement Surface Image (.PSI) that has become the US national standard; this standard also established the linkage between pavement with CAV industries. Dr. Tsai and his research team have been competitively selected for a research project sponsored by the National Cooperative Highway Research Program (NCHRP 01-60) on the calibration, validation, and verification of 3D pavement surface data to establish a national standard for measuring 2D/3D pavement data quality.Dr. Tsai has servedon the technical committee of the United States National Cooperative Highway Research Program (NCHRP) 20-102 (06) Road Markings for Machine Vision, andNCHRP 20-102 (28)) “Prepared for Transportation Agencies in Workzones for Autonomous and Connected Vehicles”, two of 34 connected and automated vehicles research projects sponsored by the USDOT. He is also on the technical committee of the AFD 10 Pavement Management Systems of the Transportation Research Board in the National Academies. Since 2010, he has served as the Associate Editor of the ASCE Journal of Computing in Civil Engineering.

Prof. Manoj Kumar received the M.Tech. degree in Instrumentation from the National Institute of Technology, Kurukshetra, India, in 2011 and the Ph.D. degree in Optical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi, New Delhi, India, in 2016. From 2016 to 2017, he was a Postdoctoral Research Fellow with the Ben Gurion University of the Negev, Beersheba, Israel, and from 2017 to 2019 a JSPS Postdoctoral Research Fellow with Kobe University, Kobe, Japan. From 2019 to 2023 he was an Assistant Professor with the Graduate School of System Informatics, Kobe University. Currently, he is an Associate Professor with the Graduate School of System Informatics, Kobe University. His research interests include 3D imaging, digital holography, 3D fluorescence microscopy, quantitative phase imaging, biomedical optics, and speckle metrology. He is a member of the OPTICA and SPIE.

Yanguang (Sunny) Yu began her academic journey at the University of Wollongong (UoW) in 2007, where she currently holds the position of Associate Professor. Prior to her tenure at UoW, she held various roles at Zhengzhou University, China, progressing from Lecturer to Professor. Her early career included a Postdoctoral Fellowship at Tianjin University, China, and a Research Fellowship at the University of Pavia, Italy. Yu's international exposure expanded through visiting appointments, including a Principal Visiting Fellow role at UoW, and professorships at the National Polytechnic Institute of Toulouse, France, in 2004, 2006, and 2015. She has published 200+ refereed research papers. She serves as Associate Editor for ' Optics and lasers in Engineering' and 'Optics Express', two highly ranked international journals. Her main research area is on optical sensing and instrumentation for precision engineering. Her research interests include Optical interferometry, Sensing by Laser Dynamics, Microwave Photonic Sensing, Lidar, Precision sensing for vibration/displacement/velocity, 3-D measurements, Signal processing, and Communication systems. She is ranked as the World’s Top 2% most-cited scientists 2023 by Stanford University, and with 1834/123678 rank in Optoelectronics & Photonics sub-field

Dr. Sumedha Nitin Prabhu receivedher B.Sc. and M.Sc. from the University of Mumbai, Mumbai, India, in 2011 and 2013, respectively. She received a PhD in Biomedical Engineering from Macquarie University, Sydney, Australia, in 2022. Her research interests include smart healthcare sensing systems, Point-of-Care devices, the Internet of Things, and embedded systems. She is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the College of Engineering & Applied Science at the University of Cincinnati, Cincinnati, USA. Previously, she worked as a Senior Research Assistant in the School of Health Sciences atthe University of Newcastle, Newcastle, Australia, where her work focused on how skin color shows an individual's health status. She has published in six high-impact factor journals, including IEEE Sensors and Wiley’s Medical Devices and Sensors. Sumedha has published four book chapters and presented her work at five international IEEE conferences and two international poster competitions.Sumedha has received two People's Choice Awards in 3 Minute Thesis and a Silver Award from the Early Career Women in STEM Paper & Grant Writing Association during her PhD candidature. She was awarded several prizes and two inter-university competitive grants for her work. She won second prize for Best PhD thesis 2021 from IEEE Sensors Council, NSW, Australia.
