Dieter Bimberg received his Ph.D. magna cum laude from Goethe University, Frankfurt, Germany. He held for 7 years a Principal Scientist position at the Max Planck Institute for Solid State Research, Grenoble, France. After serving as a Professor of electrical engineering, the Technical University of Aachen, Germany, he assumed the Chair of Applied Solid-State Physics at the Technical University of Berlin.

Dr. Zhongwei Chen is a Tier 1 Canada Research Chair, Professor in Advanced Materials for Clean Energy at the University of Waterloo, Fellow of the Royal Society of Canada, Fellow of the Canadian Academy of Engineering, Director of Waterloo Center for Electrochemical Energy, Associate Editor of ACS Applied Materials & Interfaces, and Vice President of International Academy of Electrochemical Energy Science (IAOEES).

Mário F. S. Ferreira graduated in Physics from the University of Porto, Portugal, and received the Ph.D. degree in Physics in 1992 from the University of Aveiro, Portugal, where he is now a Professor at the Physics Department. Between 1990 and 1991 he was at the University of Essex, UK, performing experimental work on external cavity semiconductor lasers and nonlinear optical fiber amplifiers. His research interests have been concerned with the modelling and characterization of multi-section semiconductor lasers for coherent systems, quantum well lasers, optical fiber amplifiers and lasers, soliton propagation, polarization and nonlinear effects in optical fibers. Prof. Rafal Kozubski completed his Ph.D. and D.Sc. at the Jagiellonian University in Kraków. He was a post-doc at the Strasbourg Institute of Physics and Chemistry of Materials (IPCMS), France, an academic visitor in the Institute for Applied Physics, Swiss Federal Institute of Technology, Zurich, Switzerland and a Lise-Meitner Fellowat the Vienna University, Austria. His international experience includes also an International Fellowship at the Queen’s University in Belfast, a visiting professorship at the University of Strasbourg, France, and the Conjoint Professorship at the University of Newcastle, Australia. He published over 100 scientific papers in internationally reviewed journals and is an author of over 150 communications on international conferences.

Jian Wang received the Ph.D. degree in physical electronics from Wuhan National Laboratory for Optoelectronics, Huazhong University of Science and Technology, China, in 2008. He worked as a Postdoctoral Research Associate at University of Southern California, USA, from 2009 to 2011. He is currently a professor at Wuhan National Laboratory for Optoelectronics, Huazhong University of Science and Technology, China. He is the vice director of Wuhan National Laboratory for Optoelectronics, Huazhong University of Science and Technology, China.He was elected as an OPTICA Fellowin 2020 and SPIE Fellow in 2022. He leads the Multi-Dimensional Photonics Laboratory (MDPL).His research interests include optical communications, optical signal processing, silicon photonics,photonic integrated circuits, orbital angular momentum, and structured light. He has published over 240 refereed journal papers (Science, Science Advances, Nature Photonics, Nature Communications, Light: Science & Applications, Physical Review Letters, Optica, Laser & Photonics Reviews, ACS Photonics, etc) and over 150 conference papers (OFC, ECOC, CLEO, etc). He has also given more than 110 tutorial/keynote/invited talks in international conferences including the invited talk at OFC2014 and tutorial talk at OFC2016.

Kazuko Matsumoto graduated and got Ph D from the University of Tokyo. After working as a research associate at the same chemistry department, she moved to Waseda University as associate professor in1984 and was promoted to full professor in 1989. Her major research interests are (i) Luminescent lanthanide complexes and their applications to biotechnology and energy conversion. (ii) Purification and surface modification of nanodiamond for luminescent material. After she retired from Waseda University, she joined Honda Foundation as Executive Director, continuing her research work.

Dr Bohm published 40 patents and 100 scientific publications. He is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry and a Fellow of Technical Surface Coatings. Dr Bohm has been awarded the Royal Society Industry Fellowship at the University of Cambridge, CGC. Hen Friman holds Ph.D. and Master's degrees from Bar-Ilan University. His master's thesis investigated the effect of Cyt1Aa on prokaryotes, and his Ph.D. research focused on energy production from aromatic chemical degradation of bacteria Using "Bio-Fuel Cells". Since 2012, Dr. Friman is research and lecturer at the Faculty of Engineering. He is currently the academic director at the Renewable Energy & Smart Grid Excellence Center at the HIT - Holon Institute of Technology.

Dr. Wang received his BSc and MSc degrees from Tongji University, China and his PhD degree from Virginia Tech, USA. Dr. Wang is an internationally recognized expert in the field of micromechanical characterization and modeling of granular soils. His research aims to explore the multiscale physics and mechanics underlying the macroscopic soil behavior using the discrete element method (DEM) simulation and X-ray computed tomography (CT). His works over the past 20 years include the X-ray CT characterization of micro-structures and micro-morphologies of geomaterials, and the DEM modeling and analysis of fundamental soil behaviors of crushable sands and their applications in various kinds of geotechnical engineering problems such as pile foundation, slope stability and retaining structures, etc. Dr. Wang's work has been awarded the prestigious international prizes including 2011 Geotechnical Research Medal (UK Institution of Civil Engineers) and 2010 Higher Education Institutions Outstanding Research Award - Natural Science Award (the Ministry of Education of China). His research has attracted over 7 million HKD of external grants including the Research Grant Council (RGC) of Hong Kong SAR and National Science Foundation of China (NSFC). Dr. Wang currently serves as an Editorial Board Member of several top journals including Géotechnique, Computers and Geotechnics, Journal of Rock Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering, and Soils and Foundations. So far Dr. Wang has published over 140 peer-reviewed articles including 80 SCI journal papers and over 60 international conference papers, with a Google Scholar H-index of 28.

Biography Kwon Young-Uk: Professor in Department of Chemistry and SAINT, Sungkyunkwan University, Korea; Dean of College of Science; Director of HRD Center for Creative Convergent Chemical Sciences; Managing editor of NANO (SCIE journal). He got his bachelor degree from Seoul National University in 1984, and Ph.D. from Iowa State University in 1991. He was a postdoctoral researcher at the prestigious Bell Labs in the United States from 1991 to 1992, and as a visiting prof in University of California at Santa Barbara (1999–2000) and University of Namur in Belgium (2008-2009). He has served as the chairman of Chemistry Department of Sungkyunkwan University, organizing committee member of Asian Chemical Congress, member of Korea Science Engineering Foundation, and International Materials Management Society (IMMS). Professor Kwon is mainly engaged in many fields such as mesoporous materials, photoelectric materials, electrocatalysis and so on. Up to now, more than 170 high-level SCI papers have been published, including Energy and Environmental Science, Advanced Materials, Advanced Energy Materials, Angew. Chem., and other high quality papers.

Dr. Guan is an associate professor working in the Graduate School of Interdisciplinary New Science at Toyo University from April 2021. Prior to this, he worked an assistant professor in the Department of Physics at Tokyo University of Science from April 2017. He gained his PhD in Department of Mechanical Engineering at Chiba University, studying on enhancement of visible-light absorption and photocatalytic activity of photocatalyst coatings. His current research focuses on the transparent conducting oxides thin films, such as heterojunction photocatalysts for water splitting, transparent thin film solar cell with p-n homojunction, and so on.

Wolfgang Ensinger studied chemistry and physics at the Universities in Karlsruhe and Heidelberg in Germany. He received his PhD in 1988 from Heidelberg University. Junko Habasaki is senior scientist II at Schrödinger K.K., Japan. She graduated in chemistry from Tokyo University of Education, Japan, in 1977 and obtained her PhD in chemistry from Tokyo Metropolitan University in 1984. She was an assistant professor at Tokyo Institute of Technology and an invited professor of physics at Université de Lille 1, France (2007–2008). Dr. Habasaki retired from Tokyo Institute of Technology in March 2020. Her research focuses on the dynamics and structures of glasses, ionic liquids, and related systems using molecular dynamics simulations. She is a coauthor of the award-winning book Dynamics of Glassy, Crystalline and Liquid Ionic Conductors and also a technical committee member of the International Commission on Glass, TC27: Atomistic Simulation.

Prof. Chang-Mou Wuis a professor in the Department of Materials Science and Engineering at National Taiwan University of Science and Technology, Taiwan. Sakthi Kumar is currently working as Deputy Director for Bio Nano Electronics Research Centre (BNERC) and as Professor in Graduate School of Interdisciplinary New Science, Toyo University, Kawagoe, Saitama, Japan. He received his B.Sc., M.Sc., and Ph.D. in 1989,1991,1998 respectively from Mahatma Gandhi University of Kerala, India and Post Graduation in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning (AI-ML) at University of Texas, Austin in 2020. After receiving his Ph.D.; he worked as research associate at the Thin Film Laboratory, Dept. of Physics, IIT Delhi, India. Born in 1949 in Armenia in the family of teachers. He graduated from the Faculty of Physics of Yerevan State University on a specialty "theoretical and mathematical physics." After graduation he worked as a lecturer at various universities of Armenia (Vanadzor, Gyumri, Yerevan). The researchs devoted to the theoretical study of the interaction of electromagnetic radiation with low-dimensional semiconductor structures. He is the author of more than ninety scientific publications.

Itamar Raz, MD, received his medical degree from the Hadassah Hebrew University Medical School in Jerusalem in 1980. He is board certified in Internal Medicine, is a full professor of Internal Medicine and has been the Head of the Diabetes Unit at Hadassah University Hospital since 2000. Prof. Raz is currently serving as head of the Israeli National Council of Diabetes which is responsible for formulating national policies regarding diabetes. In addition, Prof. Raz is President of D-Cure, a non-profit organization that promotes and funds scientific research in Israel for finding a cure and better treatments for diabetes. In the past he served as president of the Israel Diabetes Association from 1992-2004.

She is currently an adjunct professor at the Federal University of ABC and a collaborating researcher at the State University of Campinas.
