William K. M. Lau received his B. Sc. (Mathematics and Physics) in 1972, and B. Sc. Special (Applied Mathematics) in 1973 from University of Hong Kong, his PhD in Atmospheric Sciences in 1978, from the University of Washington, Seattle, Washington, U.S. He was assistant professor at the Naval Postgraduate School, 1978-1980, before joining the NASA Goddard Space Flight Center (GSFC) in 1981. He served as the Head of the Climate and Radiation Branch (1991-2000), Chief, the Laboratory for Atmospheres (2001-2010), and the Deputy Director for Science, Earth Science Division, NASA/GSFC (2011-2014). Currently, he is a senior scientist at ESSIC, and adjunct professor of the Department of Atmospheric and Oceanic Sciences, University of Maryland. His research spans over 4 decades covering a wide range of topics in climate dynamics, tropical and monsoon meteorology, ocean-atmosphere interaction, aerosol-water cycle interaction, climate variability and change. He frequently visits international research and academic institutions in China, India, Southeast Asia, Taiwan, Hong Kong, North and South America, and Europe to present invited lectures, and keynote speeches in scientific meetings to promote research collaboration and awareness in regional impacts of climate variability and change.

Dr. Lau, received many awards and accolades for his research and scientific leadership, including among others, Axford Distinguished Lecturer Award, Asia Oceania Geophysical Society (2017), Honorary Professor, Peking University (2016-present), the Bromery Lecturer, Johns Hopkins University (2015), Honorary Professor from the School of Energy and Environment, City U. of Hong Kong (2011), the Distinguished Alumni Award, Hong Kong University (2010), the William Nordberg Award in Earth Science (1999), the Goddard Exceptional Achievement Medal (1991), the NASA John Lindsay Award (1987), American Meteorological Society Meisinger Award (1988). He is a Goddard Senior Fellow, a fellow of the American Meteorological Society (AMS), the American Geophysical Union (AGU) and the American Association for Advancement of Science (AAAS). He served as President of the Chinese-American Ocean-Atmosphere Association (1991-1992), and President of the Atmosphere Section of American Geophysical Union (2015-2016).

Dr. Lau published over 300 refereed publications in scientific journals, book chapters, and encyclopedia on diverse topics, including air-sea interaction, monsoon dynamics, aerosol-climate interactions, seasonal-to-interannual variability and climate change. He has been recognized by ISI Web of Science as top 0.01% of highly-cited researcher in all fields, with H-index=106, total citation=37,710 (Google Scholar, updated April, 2022). He is the senior author of a popular reference book “ Intraseasonal Variability of the Tropical Ocean-Atmosphere System” Praxis Springer, 2006 (1st edition), 2012 (2nd edition), registering over 22,000 chapter downloads worldwide, from 2011-2016. Besides his remarkable research accomplishments, Dr. Lau is a champion in mentoring and promoting early career scientists. Throughout his career, he mentored over 40 postdocs, research associates, and early career scientists from all over the world, many of whom are already renowned scientists in their own rights.

Dr. Dai-Yeun Jeong is presently the Director of Asia Climate Change Education Center and an emeritus prof. of environmental sociology at Jeju National University in South Korea. He received BA and MA degree in sociology from Korea University (South Korea), and PhD in environmental sociology from University of Queensland (Australia). He was a prof. of environmental sociology at Jeju National University (South Korea) from 1981 to 2012. His past major professional activities include a teaching professor at University of Sheffield in UK, the president of Asia-Pacific Sociological Association, a delegate of South Korean Government to UNFCCC and OECD environmental meeting, a member of Presidential Commission on Sustainable Development Republic of Korea, and a Research Associate at Environmental Policy Committee for Sustainable Development,The National Assembly of Republic of Korea, etc. He has published 60 environment-related research papers in domestic and international journals and 13 books including Environmental Sociology. He has conducted 100 unpublished environment-related research projects funded by domestic and international organizations.

Dr. Patricia Glibert is a Professor at the University of Maryland Center for Environmental Science (UMCES), Horn Point Laboratory. Dr. Glibert is an oceanographer whose work has centered around questions related to nutrient dynamics and phytoplankton physiology and ecology. Her current work is focused on the linkages between nutrient over-enrichment and harmful algal blooms (HABs). She has studied algal blooms in many parts of the US, from Maryland to Florida, California to New York, and across the world, from Australia to the Baltic, from Brazil to China. She also taught marine ecology for several years in China.

She received her B.A. from Skidmore College, M.S. in Earth Sciences from the University of New Hampshire, and Ph.D. in Organismal and Evolutionary Biology from Harvard University. She was a Postdoctoral Scholar and an Assistant Scientist at the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution prior to moving to Maryland in 1986. Dr. Glibert received an honorary doctorate for her work on algae from Linnaeus University, Sweden, in 2011, and she was named one of the top 25 women professors in Maryland. She is an elected Fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science and a Sustaining Fellow of the Association for the Sciences of Limnology and Oceanography (ASLO). Dr. Glibert is also the incoming President of the Association for the Sciences of Limnology and Oceanography (ASLO).

Dr. Glibert has authored or co-authored over 200 publications, including articles written for children. She is currently completing a textbook on phytoplankton ecology which will go to press in early 2023. She is also active in several national and international efforts related to eutrophication and water quality. From 2006-2012 she co-chaired the U.S. National HAB committee. She also co-chaired an international working group on land-based nutrient pollution and HABs, and she chaired the core research program on eutrophication in the Global Ecology and Oceanography Harmful Algal Blooms Program.

Prof. Yankai Xia is the vice President of Nanjing Medical University and professor of Toxicology at the School of Public Health. He works on environmental exposure and reproductive health. He has been in charge of several National or International projects. He has published more than 280 peer-reviewed articles with H-index of 49. He also owns 12 authorized national patents and have been awarded the Second Prize of National Scientific and Technological Progress and other prizes. He was also the committee members of the International Society of Exposure Science (ISES), the Birth Cohort Consortium of Asia (BiCCA), and several Chinese academic committees. He also acts as Editor/Associate Editor of several distinguished journals in the environmental field.

Prof Ganiis the CEO of PSE for SPEED, a company he co-founded in 2018 and is also an adjunct professor at KAIST (South Korea).Starting from 1985, Prof Gani worked at the Department of Chemical & Biochemical Engineering, Technical University of Denmark, where he foundedthe CAPEC research center and industrial consortium.Prof Ganiserved as editor-in-chief of Computers and Chemical Engineering journal (2009-2015) and currently serves as editor for the Sustainable Production & Consumption journal and is a member of advisory boards for several peer-reviewed international journals. Prof Gani has been awarded four Doctor Honoris Causa degrees. He is a member of the Danish Academy of Science, a Fellow of AIChE and a Fellow of IChemE. He has receivednumerous awards, including the EFCE Jacques Villermaux medal in 2019 and the IChemE Sargent Medal in 2021. Prof Gani’s current research includes development and application of computer aided methods and associated tools for modelling; property estimation; process-product synthesis, design& intensification; and process-tools integration with emphasis on energy, sustainability and application of a systems approach.

The main progress has been in the discovery of oceanographic phenomena new to science and an increased understanding of the behaviour of sediments. These advances have been based on field using new instruments and techniques developed by myself in conjunction with others. These new concepts have been successfully applied to various engineering problems.

In the port engineering field, Dr Kirby, accompanied by a small number of very expert colleagues, has developed and brought to commercial fruition two new Sediment Management Systems. He is the co-inventor of the NAUTICAL DEPTH concept, as well as the continuous vertical gamma-transmissance, and later, towed undulating (NAVITRACKER) profilers with which to measure this. Nautical depth is a concept applicable to fairway maintenance in high turbidity (fluid mud) systems. This initial concept must now be termed PASSIVE NAUTICAL DEPTH. It has been evaluated, ratified and promulgated world-wide by PIANC. Where applicable, for example, at Rotterdam/Europort (Holland), Zeebrugge (Belgium) and elsewhere it has resulted in major cost saving. In a new iteration, Dr Kirby has provided part of the science underpinning ACTIVE NAUTICAL DEPTH, a method to further minimise maintenance dredging need and at the same time use the fluid mud cloud to decontaminate the sediment in situ. The prototype port for this is Emden in Germany. Dr Kirby is also the co-developer of a revolutionary patented technique for reducing eddy-induced siltation in the entrance to blind-ending basins in lower turbidity regimes. These ENTRANCE FLOW OPTIMISATION SYSTEMS (EFOS) involve SILLS and CURRENT DEFLECTING WALLS and, from European Union-funded generic research contracts and practical experience in tidal situations, have been found to reduce sediment input from all three of the principal mechanisms. Creation of a design protocol for these systems has also required development of dedicated design technologies, which themselves have a wider application outside the immediate port engineering field. There is now years of practical experience with these systems at the prototype test site, Hamburg in Germany. Their use is now spreading in the port industry, with further systems envisaged for Hamburg as well as for Antwerp and potentially Rotterdam/Europort, three of the top ten ports in the world. They also contribute in a major way to an important change in modern port design, namely replacing impounded with tidal basins at high tidal range and turbid ports, a trend arising from competitive pressure from the container shipping trade. Benefits from these systems span a broad spectrum of economic and environmental issues and involve extremely large sums of money.

Dr Kirby is a shareholder and director in Balticon International, a company using new types of highly mobile recycling plants to decontaminate waste terrestrial and marine mineral material. Following separation, a range of disposal options can be applied to the concentrated contaminants, whilst the primary minerals produced find a wide range of beneficial uses, for example in habitat creation or in manufactured products. This latter activity complements the two Sediment Management Systems.

In the coastal engineering field, Dr Kirby is the inventor of a patented self-sustaining soft sediment coast protection methodology, TIDAL FLAT REGENERATION, which involves placing wave attenuators and muddy dredge material to alter whole mudshore cross-sectional profiles from low and concave, to high and convex shapes. Similarly he is the co-developer of a “top down model” or mudcoast management system, S-FACTOR ANALYSIS, which permits shore stability and erosion-potential to be quantified for the first time. Dr Kirby has proposed the MEHBY RULE as a conceptual model for mudshores to stand alongside the accepted Bruun Rule for sandy shores. This encompasses and explains in summary form the contrasted behaviour of muddy and sandy foreshore.

Dr Kirby was Chairman of the PIANC MarCom Working Group 43 “MINIMISING HARBOUR SILTATION” (MHS) which sought to evaluate and promote generic Sediment Management Systems around the world. The report was published in October 2008.

Charles F. Kennel was educated in astronomy and astrophysics at Harvard (A.B) and Princeton (Ph.D). After a post-doctoral year at the International Centre for Theoretical Physics,Trieste, he joined the UCLA Department of Physics and its Institute for Geophysics AndPlanetary Physics. There he pursued research and teaching in theoretical space plasma physics and astrophysics, eventually chairing the Physics Department. He served as UCLA’s Executive Vice Chancellor, its chief academic officer, from 1996 to 1998. While at UCLA, Kennel was a consultant to TRW Systems (now Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems), where he participated in numerous satellite experiments, most notably the Voyager missions to the outer planets. From 1994 to 1996, Kennel was Associate Administrator at NASA and Director of Mission to Planet Earth. Kennel’s experiences at NASA converted him to Earth and climate science, and he has devoted the rest of his career to these fields. He became the ninth Director and Dean of the Scripps Institution of Oceanography and Vice Chancellor of Marine Sciences at the University of California, San Diego, serving from 1998 to 2006. Kennel is presently Director and Distinguished Professor emeritus of the Scripps Institution of Oceanography, La Jolla CA, and Distinguished Visiting Scholar, Christ’s College and Centre for Science and Policy at the University of Cambridge, UK

Kennel has been a Fulbright Senior Lecturer, and a Sloan and Guggenheim Foundation Fellow, a Fairchild Scholar at CalTech, and a visiting professor at the Princeton Plasma Physics Laboratory. In the international arena, he had visiting appointments to the International Centre for Theoretical Physics (Trieste), the University of Trieste, Ecole Polytechnique (Paris), and the Space Research Institutes in Moscow (IKI) and Sao Jose dos Campos, Brazil (INPE). During winter terms 2007, 2010, 2012, and 2014-2020, he was a Distinguished Visiting Scholar at Christ’s College, and The Centre of Science and Policy, at the University of Cambridge. He was the 2007 C.P. Snow lecturer at Christ’s College.

Kennel served 13 years on the NASA Advisory Council, chairing it from 2000-2005,and was a member of the Presidential (“Augustine”) Commission on human space flight in 2009. Kennel chaired the NRC Space Studies Board from 2008-2014. Earlier, he chaired theUS National Academies’ Board on Physics and Astronomy, Committee on Global Change Research, Fusion Science Program Assessment Committee, and its Committee on Solar and Space Physics, He co-chaired its Beyond Einstein Program Assessment Committee. For the State of California, he was a member of the founding board of theCalifornia Climate Action Registry, the first chairman of the California Ocean SciencesTrust, and chair and chairman of the Board of the California Council on Scienceand Technology.

Kennel is a member of the US National Academy of Sciences, the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, the American Philosophical Society, and the International Academy of Astronautics. He is a fellow of the American Physical Society, the American Geophysical Union, and the American Association for the Advancement of Science. He has been awarded the James Clerk Maxwell Prize (American Physical Society), the first Hannes Alfven Prize (European Geophysical Union), the Aurelio Peccei Prize (Accademia Lincei, Rome), the NASA Distinguished Service Medal, and two NASA Exceptional Public Service Medals.

Professor Eric Wolanski is an oceanographer and ecohydrologist at James Cook University, Australia. His research interests range from the oceanography of coral reefs, mangroves and muddy estuaries, to the interaction between physical and biological processes determining ecosystem health in tropical waters. He has 420 publications, including 12 books. His h-index is 83 and he has 23,421 citations. Eric is a fellow of the Australian Academy of Technological Sciences and Engineering, the Institution of Engineers Australia (ret.), and l’Académie Royale des Sciences d’Outre-Mer (Belgium). He was awarded a Doctorate Honoris Causa by the catholic University of Louvain, another Doctorate Honoris Causa by the University of Hull, a Lifetime Achievement Award by the Estuarine & Coastal Sciences Association, and a Queensland Information Technology and Telecommunications Award for Excellence. Eric is an Editor-in-Chief of Wetlands Ecology and Management, and the Elsevier book series “Ecohydrology from catchment to coast”.

A. Cerdá developed his Ph D about the soil hydrology of Mediterranean Soil (1989-1993) at Valencia University with two research periods in Israel (Hanoch Lavee) and The Netherlands (Anton Imeson). His post-doctorate studies in The Netherlands, Israel, Bolivia and UK from 1994 till 1996 researched on soil hydrology in an arid land, the impact of climate on geomorphological processes and on fire and agriculture impact on soil sustainability. A key research topic developed was the impact of climate on runoff generation and soil erosion along climatological gradients. His position as a researcher in the Desertification Research Centre under the guidance of Professor Patricio García Fayos shed light into the interaction of seeds, plants and soil erosion in road embankments. Later, under the leadership of José María García Ruiz, Artemi Cerdà researched the impact of land management and soil erosion in the Pyrenees and contributed to an open view of the soil erosion processes accelerated by the humankind. Since 2002 as Associated Professor and since 2010 as Full Professor at the University of Valencia, Dr. Cerdà developed the Soil Erosion and Degradation Research Group and the Soil Erosion Research Stations of Montesa and El Teularet. They contributed with information about soil erosion processes in agriculture and forest land. Measurements by means of natural and simulated rainfall contributed to understanding the high erosion rates in agriculture land and the impact of a forest fire to accelerate the soil losses. His research focused on the effect of agriculture, forest fires and road embankments on soil erosion and since 2002 Artemi Cerdà is looking for sustainable managements for the agriculture and forest ecosystems. Artemi Cerdà got in 2009 the accreditation as Full Professor. Since 2010, at the University of Valencia, Artemi Cerdà developed new research focused on new management to reduce soil losses and induce the recovery of the Mediterranean soils affected by millennia by tillage and lately by herbicides. The use of catch crops, mulches, chipped pruned branches, and geotextiles are being checked as key strategies to reduce the soil losses. Along the last decade, the collaboration with colleagues from USA, Italy, Slovakia, Iran, Pakistan, India, China, Brazil, Argelia, Israel and USA expanded the research to other geographical areas. Professor Cerdà coordinated a National project and 3 regional projects and participated in 10 national and 6 regional projects and 2 European research projects. New research has been applied to olive, citrus, apricot and vineyards where field and laboratory surveys demonstrate that herbicides are accelerating the soil losses and the soil compaction. Land abandonment has been seen as a solution to reduce the soil losses on tillage rainfed crops. Organic farming applies to catch crops and mulches and is also a good strategy to improve the current situation. Economic and perception approaches to the current situation demonstrate that farmers do not support the use of new management as they feel comfortable with the use of tillage and herbicides, and this includes the use of pesticides and chemical fertilizers. The SEDER team support with scientific research sustainable management, and socio-economic research to understand the perception of the stakeholders. A dissemination program and an active publication work have been developed in the last decade.

Changming Yang, Ph.D., and the professor of Institute of Higher Environmental Research and College of Environmental Science and Engineering, Tongji University. In 2002, he graduated from the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences with a doctorate in soil science. From August 2002 to July 2004, he worked in the post doctoral station of ecology, Institute of Geographical Sciences and Resources, Chinese Academy of Sciences. Since August 2004, he has been engaged in teaching and scientific research in Tongji University, and is the discipline leader in the restoration and remediation of polluted soil and degraded wetlands. His research interests include: 1) theory and technology of ecological restoration of polluted water, 2) ecological restoration and function reconstruction technology of degraded wetland, and 3) ecological remediation technology of polluted soil. He has published more than 80 academic papers in famous magazines and applied for 12 national invention patents (9 have been authorized).

Professor XIONG Youcai is a leading scientist in new material research & development regarding dryland agriculture and ecosystem conservation in Lanzhou University, northwest China. In his academic career, he has published over 140 papers or books (chapters) in international top journals. He has been engaged in fundamental research and technology innovation in agricultural system and rural communities in semiarid and arid areas over last two decades. Some of his research work had been published in international journals such as Journal of Hazardous Materials, Advances in Agronomy, Advanced Functional Materials, Journal of Cleaner Production, Environmental Pollution, Agricultural and Forest Meteorology and Field Crops Research. LeiMa, graduated with a Ph.D. from the Institute of Atmospheric Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences in January 2019, and funded by CSC-DAAD to continue postdoctoral research from September 2019 to March 2021 in Institute of Meteorology and Climate Research, Atmospheric Environmental Research, Karlsruhe Institute of Technology, Germany. Since May 2021, he was hired as a young researcher in College of Atmospheric Sciences of Lanzhou University, China. He is mainly engaged in the research of water-carbon-nitrogen-phosphorus element cycling, ecosystem productivity and greenhouse gas (CO2, CH4 and N2O) emissions in terrestrial ecosystems under the interference of global changes and human activities. John Sansalone, PhD, PE is a Full Professor of Engineering at the University of Florida, USA. Research and teaching areas of interest include physical and computational modeling methods for unit operations and processes focused on urban water treatment and management, green infrastructure for the urban hydrologic and heat cycle, urban water infrastructure design, combined sewer and wastewater treatment, water and soil chemistry analysis and monitoring. He is a member of the PhD faculty at Bari Politechnical University and has been a visiting Professor at Milano Politechnical University, University of Genoa, University of Bologna, University of Parma, and University of Calabria. He is an Associate Editor at Water Research. He has over 200 research publications and over 200 presentations worldwide. Beyond his academic career, he is an active triathlete and marathoner.

I am currently an Associate Professor at the University of Magallanes, Director of the Department of Agricultural and Aquacultural Sciences, Director of the Bahía Laredo Marine Research Center and Institutional Representative to FONDEF-ANID.During my professional development (24 years) I have formulated, directed and participated in almost thirty Aquaculture R&D projects, both for fish, mollusks, algae, echinoderms and crustaceans, directing work groups, and leveraging nearly US$ 5 million in pecuniary resources from competitive funds. I have participated in 19 publications and 9 scientific congresses, in Chile and abroad. Annually, I teach sixdifferent courses in three levels technical, undergraduate and postgraduate and I have directed 14 theses and professional practices of students of Marine Biology, Aquaculture Engineering and Aquatic Resources Technicians. In addition, I participate in the Technical Scientific Committee for Land Management of Aquaculture and the Recreational Fishing Committee of the Magallanes region, both belonging to the Undersecretary of Fisheries and Aquaculture of Chile Government and the Ethics Committee of the University of Magallanes.

Dr. Pardeep Kumar is working in the field of Soil Science since 1998. He is a pioneer worker in the field of systematic micronutrient research and has contributed significantly in the field of soil fertility management in Himachal Pradesh by publishing a geo referenced Atlas on Micro and Secondary Nutrients’ status. Besides, he standardized the management of Zn and B fertilization in maize-wheat and cauliflower-tomato cropping systems in soils of Himachal Pradesh, respectively. Evaluated different sources of Zn and B for enhancing their use efficiencyin different crops. Has also identified micronutrient efficient genotypes of cereals and vegetables. He has published more than 88 peer reviewed research papers in International and national journals of repute.

All the scientific findings are/will certainly be helpful in addressing the nutrient management issues for sustainable agriculture vis a vis environmental protection in vulnerable Himalayan ecosystem.

Carlos A. Harguinteguy is a Biologist and PhD in Biological Sciences, both graduated from the Faculty of Exact, Physical and Natural Sciences (FCEFyN) of the National University of Córdoba (UNC), Argentina. He is Professor at the FCEFyN of the UNC and Associate Researcher of the National Council for Scientific and Technical Research (CONICET). His experience is based on the use of native macrophytes as bioindicator organisms of contamination by toxic compounds in aquatic ecosystems, by determining their accumulation capacity and degree of tolerance, and their implementation in constructed wetland systems that allow the removal of pollutants and nutrients in wastewater treatment.

In 2014, graduated from Jilin Agricultural University majoring in Applied Chemistry. In 2019, he began his doctoral joint training in Toxicology Center of University of Antwerp, Belgium. In 2021, he received his doctorate degree in pesticide science from Nanjing Agricultural University. In the same year after graduation, he performed postdoctoral research in the School of Public Health, Nanjing Medical University, China. He has contributed to 35 peer-reviewed publications, including 5 papers as the first author published in top journals with over 700 citations. Yun Fan, Ph.D., Postdoctoral Fellow, Department of Microbiology and Infection, Nanjing medical university. He obtainedPh.Dfrom Nanjing Medical University majoring in Toxicology in 2021. He is mainly engaged in research on gut microbes and epigenome, focusing on the mechanism of interaction between gut microbes, metabolites and host chromatin modifications in metabolic diseases.

Castine Bernardy is a Ph.D. candidate at the University of New Hampshire in the civil and environmental engineering department. She received her Bachelor’s and Master’s of Engineering in environmental engineering from the University of New Hampshire in 2019 and 2021, respectively. In addition, she received her EIT (Engineer in Training) certificate in 2019.Her doctoral research started at the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, studying the effects of UV254 as a disinfection technique for FFRs. Her research then expanded into exploring the effects of surface characteristics and causal interactions of UV254 and BL405 (blue light) She specifically studies materials commonly used in healthcare settings and others with varying porosity, contact angles, and surface charges. Bernardy is working on several publications about her findings and has authored Effects of UV-C Disinfection on N95 and KN95 Filtering Facepiece Respirator Reuse.

Jiawei Duan is a graduate student at Nanjing Medical University whose main research interests include environmental chemical pollution and its relationship with human endogenous metabolism and reproductive health. His team mainly uses ultra-high performance liquid chromatography–high resolution accuratemass spectrometry (UHPLC-HRMS) and inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (ICP-MS) to evaluate the reproductive toxicity of a large number of exogenous chemicals, and identify risk factors and molecular markers affecting reproductive development. During postgraduate study(from 2020), he participated in many studies onthe association between exposome and metabolome, some of whichwere published in Environ Health Perspect, Environ Int and Ecotoxicol Environ Saf.

Akrivi Leka holds a Diploma in Rural and Surveying Engineering from NTUA, 1998. She also holds a Master Degree in ‘Environment and Development’ (NTUA, 2000), a Master Degree in ‘Environmental Resource Management’ (Brandenburg Technical University, Germany, 2004) and a PhD from NTUA (2012) in Urban Sustainability (‘Environmental Sustainability in Urban Small and Medium-sized Coastal Cities - Approach to Environmental Indicators’). Since September 2007, she is lecturing at the Dept. of Geography and Regional Planning, School of Rural and Surveying Engineering, NTUA in undergraduate and graduate level. Presently, she is a senior researcher at NTUA, while she also works as a freelancer in Surveying and Environmental Management Projects.

She owns a specific license for conducting Environmental Impact Assessment Projects (EIAP) in private and public sector (2003) and she is the author of a number of EIAPs’. She has participated in a number of national and international conferences, while also published her work in scientific national and international journals and conferences. Dr. Jinsheng You completed his PhD 12 years ago atUtah State University and postdoctoral studies atUniversity of Nebraska – Lincoln School of Natural Resources. He is an Environmental Engineer of Nebraska Department of Environment and Energy and an Adjunct Associate Faculty in University of Nebraska – Lincoln, School of Nature Resources. He has published more than 20 papers in reputed journals and has been serving as an editorial board member of repute: Journal of Water Resource and Protection, and American Association of State Climatologists Journal of Service Climatology. He has reviewed articles for more than 15 journals and funding request proposals for several funding agencies such as US Geological Survey, US Department of Agriculture, EPA, and NOAA. He is interested in hydrologic and earth system modeling, monitoring climate, soil, and hydrologic system, water and environmental protection. His work contributes to the quality assurance and management of climate data, development of big data, climate analysis, systematic analysis, crop water use, extreme event analysis, hydrologic modeling, and etc.

Dr Debmita Bandyopadhyay is a researcher at UiT-The Arctic University of Norway. She has worked on glacier dynamics for the past six years. She did her PhD at IIT Bombay, India, and her thesis was to understand the climate impacts on Himalayan glaciers. She has expertise in handling multi-sensor remote sensing data and has worked extensively on glacier mass balance and velocity measurements using the InSAR technique. Currently, she works on avalanche monitoring and modelling using various meteorological and climate indicators at UiT. As a part of her postdoctoral research at the University of Cambridge, United Kingdom, she worked on vegetation dynamics in the Himalayan region. She has published in several top-tiered journals like Scientific Reports and Remote Sensing of the Environment. Dr Bandyopadhyay is a recipient of the Issac-Newton Trust grant from the University of Cambridge and has worked on interdisciplinary projects involving stakeholders from industry and researchers from academia.

Her talk at EnScience 2023 will highlight the recent advances in glacier studies in the Himalayas, focusing on glacier mass balance estimates and uncertainties.

Gayani Pathiraja is a Postdoctoral Fellow in the Obare group at the Joint School of Nanoscience and Nanoengineering (JSNN), USA. She received her Ph.D. in Nanoscience from University of North Carolina at Greensboro in 2021 and she investigated the crystal growth mechanism and kinetics of ultrathin copper hydroxide/oxide nanowire self-assembly in her study. Prior to that, she earned her master’s degree in electrochemistry/Environmental Engineering from University of Peradeniya, Sri Lanka, and bachelor’s degree in Materials Science and Technology from UvaWellassa University, Sri Lanka. Her current research focuses on various organophosphorus compounds removal techniques in wastewater for the phosphorus sustainability.Her research on the metal oxide nanowires, self-assembly, crystal growth mechanisms, kinetics, transmission electron microscopes, optoelectronic applications, anodes and electrochemistry have publishedinseveral highly rated peer-reviewed journals publications, conferences and symposiums. She is the co-editor of the book project on “Self-Assembly of Materials and Supramolecular Structures” in IntechOpen and a review editor on reputable journals, including Frontiers in Chemistry.

Edna Cabecinha is an Assistant Professor at the University of Tras-os-Montes and Alto Douro (UTAD), Portugal, in the Department of Biology and Environment. She completed her Ph.D. in Environmental Sciences in 2008 (UTAD), MSc in Environmental Technology in 2002 at the University of Minho (School of Engineering), and BSc in Biophysical Engineering in 1998 at the University of Évora.

She is the Vice-Director of the Doctoral College of UTAD, Course Director, and Member of the Academic and Executive Committee of the International Doctoral Program in Marine Science, Technology, and Management (Do*Mar). She was also Course Director of the MSc in Environmental Engineering (2013-2021), and BCs in Environmental Sciences at UTAD (2013-2021). Member of the Pedagogical Council of the School of Life and Environmental Sciences in UTAD (2013-2021).

She is also Co-lead of the Nature-based Solutions Thematic Group of the Commission on Ecosystem Management of IUCN - International Union for Conservation of Nature. Member of the Ecosystem Services Partnership (ESP), ESP Working Group on Modelling ES, and Member of the International Council for Exploration of the Sea, ICES Working Group on Resilience and Marine Ecosystem Services (ICES WG RMES).

Sewwandi Rathnayake is a Schlumberger Faculty for Future Fellow and received her PhD in soil chemistry at Texas A&M University, College Station. Her dissertation research study focused oninvestigating iron rich drinking water treatment byproducts as soil amendments for remediating arsenic and other trace elements in soil. Prior to that, she earned her master’s degree in Plant and Soil Sciences at University of Kentucky, Lexington. Her project focused on transformations, bioavailability and toxicity of ZnO nanomaterial in waste water. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Agriculture at University of Peradeniya, Sri Lanka. She worked as an Associate Director, Environmental Science for Houston Wilderness and currently working as a Freelance Environmental specialist and also as an Adjunct faculty at Lone Star College. Her work publishedinseveral highly rated peer-reviewed journals, local and international conferences and symposiums.

Dr. Vijaya (VJ) Gopu, P.E., is Stuller Settings -Matthew StullerLEQSF/Regents Professorof Civil Engineering at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette (2015-present) and Associate Director for External Programs at Louisiana Transportation Research Center (LTRC). He also holds the Formosa Plastics Distinguished Professor Emeritus position at LSU (2000-present). He was appointed by Governor Edwards to serve a six-year term(2022-2028) on the Louisiana Professional Engineering and Land Surveying Board as a Professional Engineer representing Education. Dr. Gopu earned his first PE license from Colorado in 1977 and got licensed in Louisiana in 1983.

Dr. Gopu earned his B.S. in Civil Engineering with distinction from Andhra University in 1971. He obtained his M.S. and Ph.D. in Structural Engineering from Colorado State University in 1972 and 1975 respectively. Upon completion of his doctoral work, Dr. Gopu worked as a project structural engineering with a Denver area consulting firm for three years before joining the civil engineering faculty at LSU in 1978. During his 22-year tenure (1978-2000) at LSU, he served as the department’s structures program and graduate program coordinator. Hetook a sabbatical leave in 1985 to serve as a visiting professor at the Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm, Sweden, for an eight-month period. During his final two years at LSU, Dr. Gopu served as the Program Director for Structural Systems and Materials in the Directorate of Engineering at the National Science Foundation in Washington, D.C., on an IPA appointment (1998-2000). After leaving LSU, he served as as the Chair of the Department of Civil andEnvironmental Engineering and Associate Director of the University Transportation Center of Alabama at the University of Alabama inHuntsville (2000-2003). He left Huntsville in 2003 to accept the Civil and Environmental Engineering Department Chair position at Tulane University.After Katrina’s impact on Tulane’s engineering programs, Dr. Gopu left Tulane in 2008 to accept a joint appointment as the Edward G. Schleider Endowed Chair in Civil Engineering at the University of New Orleans (2008-2015) and Associate Director of External Programs at LTRC (2006-present).In 2015, he accepted an endowed professor position in the Civil Engineering Department at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette to contribute to the university’s efforts to move to a Carnegie R-1 status which it achieved this year. With his long service to Louisiana universities, Dr. Gopu became the first engineering professor in Louisiana history to serve as a tenured full professor at four Louisiana universities.

Dr. Gopuis arecipient of several awards for teaching, research and professional service. He supervised the research work of 48 master’s and doctoral students and served as the principal or co-principal investigatorof over 60 research projects with total expenditures exceeding $20M. He delivered keynote lectures and presentations at numerousdomestic and international conferences in 30 countries, and has served on the organizing committee of several domestic/international conferences and forums. Dr. Gopu is active in several national technical committees and has served as a member of several federalinteragency working groups. He was the Conference Chair for the World Conference on Timber Engineering held in New Orleans in 1996. While serving as Program Director at the National Science Foundation – an agency under the White House -- he established a $20 million joint NSF-HUD initiative in support of President Clinton’s PATH --Partnership for Advancing Technologies for Housing – program. He is heavily involved in the management of UniversityTransportation Center Sites funded by the U.S. Department of Transportation. Dr. Gopu hasserved on numerous NSF Site Review Teams and Proposal ReviewPanels. He is the chair of the Industrial Advisory Board for the NSF Center for Integration of Composites in Infrastructure and a founding member of the International Association for Bridge Management and Safety– USA.

Leonardo Primavera was born in Catanzaro (Calabria, Italy), on April 9th 1967. He graduated in physics at the University of Calabria, cum laude, on 22th July 1991. The title of the degree thesis was: "Numerical simulations in compressible MHD". Thesis advisors were Prof. P. Veltri and Prof. F. Malara. He was PhD Fellow from November 1991 to November

1994 at the University of Calabria. Title of the PhD thesis: "Propagation of MHD waves in the solar corona and solar wind: a numerical approach".

He got a Post doctoral fellow at the "Observatoire de Meudon-Paris", from January 1995 to December 1995. The research activity concerned the construction of a cylindrical, incompressible, MHD code for simulations of the dynamo effect in a laboratory device. Principal investigator of the project: Jacques Léorat. He had a Post doctoral fellowship at the "Astrophisikalisches Institut Potsdam", from January 1996 to July 1997. The research activity concerned the numerical simulation of thin and thick accretion discs.

Principal investigator of the project: Günther Rüdiger. He was Post doctoral fellow at the University of Calabria, from August 1997 to August 1999. The research activity concerned numerical simulations of the solar wind and MHD turbulence. Principal investigator of the project: P. Veltri. He was Research Fellow at the University of Calabria, from August 2001 to December 2002. The research concerned numerical simulations of solar wind turbulence, fluid turbulence and MHD turbulence in plasma machines. Principal investigator of the project: P. Veltri.

He is currently Researcher at the Physics Department of the University of Calabria, since January 2003. His main research interests concern numerical simulation of turbulence in fluids and plasmas, with particular reference to atmospheric fluids and solar wind, turbulence in cyclones and engineering flows, analysis technique for turbulence and multifractal sets.

He has got the National Habilitation as Associate Professor since 30/05/2022. Chia-Ying Ko is an associate professor at Institute of Fisheries Science, National Taiwan University, where she mainly researches on global change biology, biogeography,macroecology, big data and long-term data analysis, and interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary sciences. She graduated from the National Taiwan University, with PhD degree in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology. She experienced as a visiting scholar fellow and a postdoctoral associate at Stanford University and Yale University, USA, before moving back to Academia Sinica and National Taiwan University. She is also currently working on marine pollution, marine conservation, and fisheries management at large spatial scales to achieve the balance between humans and nature for sustainable development.

Dr Maud Villain-Gambier received her PhD in process engineering in December 2012 in membrane bioreactor (MBR) development for urban wastewater treatment. After her 12 months assistant professor position at the University of Aix-Marseille where she focused on olive mill wastewater treatment with MBR in collaboration with the University Cadi Ayyad of Marrakech, she started as assistant professor at the University of Strasbourg in 2014. She works in the Institut Pluridisciplaire Hubert Curien (IPHC) (UMR CNRS 7178) on biomolecules valorization from industrial wastes with coupling of soft technologies such as membrane, enzymatic and/or green solvents processes. She supervised various projects in that field in collaboration with industries and academic partners. In 2020 she obtained the best hope award from the University of Strabourg for her research activities.

I am a biologist, interested in the conservation of water resources, using effluent reuse as a management tool. My work addresses such as effluent reuse, water footprint and social technologies for effluent treatment. In my work, I apply laboratory experiments and modeling approaches.

I have a PhD in Chemical Engineering from the Universidad Complutense de Madrid and a Post-Doctorate in Sciences IPEN (Energy Research Institute)/University of São Paulo (USP). I have developed projects in the area of Environmental Sciences, with an emphasis on environmental sanitation, working mainly on the topic of effluent reuse. I work as a professor at the Federal University of Tocantins (UFT/Brazil). I am a professor at the Federal University of Tocantins, Northern Brazil (Amazon region).

The projects developed are associated with reuse: perception and social acceptance of treated effluent waste; development of wastewater treatment technologies for reuse purposes; determination of effluent reuse alternatives; proposition to minimize the use of water and the possibility of recycling and/or reuse of effluents as water management strategies; development of mechanisms for segregation of industrial solid waste and reduction of water consumption and generation of liquid effluents; determination of the potential for reuse of effluents for industries; ii) water footprint and socioeconomic development; soy water footprint in climate change scenarios; spatial and temporal dynamics of the water footprint for soy production in areas of recent agricultural expansion and iii) studies of low-cost materials as active substrates for pollutant removal, such as the proposed social treatment technology; construction of strategies to support social control in sanitation actions.

The development of projects in partnership with national and international institutions generated the development of research, as well as the training of human resources, at undergraduate and graduate levels, which in this case stands out for its importance for the North region of Brazil. I coordinate, at the national level (MEC/CAPES (Ministry of Education/Coordination for the Improvement of Higher Education Personnel)), the Postgraduate Programs, in the professional modality, in the Area of Environmental Sciences.

Sang-Ah Lee has Master’s degree in Biodiversity and Environmental Ecology from Chungnam national university (CNU, 2012) and Ph.D. in Environmental Biotechnology from the University of Science and Technology (UST, 2021). He is currently a researcher of KIST-EU, working in the department of Environmental Safety Group (P.I. Prof. Dr. Young Jun Kim). He has experience in wastewater treatment bioprocess engineering & microbiology with metagenomics assessment, specifically microbial network interactions during the treatment. Currently, His research area focuses on the microplastic’s adverse outcomes for an invertebrate.

Professor / PhD, Shuisen Chen. Leader of Environmental Remote Sensing Team, Guangzhou Institute of Geography, Guangdong Academy of Sciences, China. Dr. Shuisen Chen is a remote sensing expert and geographer with expertise in remote sensing of environment and precision agriculture. He is appointed as Associate Editor of Frontiers in Environmental Science and Deputy Director of the Academic Committee of the Institute, currently also as Deputy Director of Public Laboratory of Guangdong Provincial Geospatial Information Technology and Application / Director of Guangdong Remote Sensing Big Data Application Engineering Technology Research Center. Meanwhile, he is appointed as Deputy Chairman of the Environmental Remote Sensing Branch of the China Remote Sensing Application Association. He predominantly works in estuary and coast, and on water quality of rivers and reservoirs, and crop growth monitoring and nutrient remote sensing. His research focuses on remote sensing inversion of surface parameters and analysis of environment process and effects using remote sensing Big Data. He is appointed as doctoral Supervisor in Chinese Academy University of Sciences, Chief Expert of "Remote Sensing Big Data and Precision Agriculture" of Guangdong Modern Agricultural Industry Technology System Innovation Team, Guangdong Province Overseas High-level Talents and Director of Nanling Team of Shaoguan talent engineering in China. He had worked or as senior research Visiting Fellows in the United States (Oregon State University, Florida State University) and United Kingdom (University of Derby). Yanna Liu was trained as an environmental analytical chemist at the University of Alberta (PhD), and is currently working as an assistant professor at the Research Center for Eco-Environmental Sciences, Chinese Academy of Sciences (RCEES, CAS). Her research focuses on the development of novel nontarget analytical methods for identifying (toxic) organic environmental contaminants using state-of-the-art high resolution mass spectrometry, and application of these tools for studying human chemical exposure and performing risk assessments.

Dr. Marta Romero Ariza is a strong supporter of the power of education to shape the world we want and to better prepare people to take an active role in the development of creative and participatory solutions to current environmental challenges. She studied Chemistry at the University of Granada and carried out her Ph.D. on Organic Chemistry, at this University. She was awarded as European Doctor in 2002, after conducting part of her research abroad and presenting her thesis in English to an International Board. She spent several years researching on the chemical properties of natural products with biological activity, but in 2006 her passion for supporting others in the understanding and use of scientific ideas to explain the physical world made her change her area of expertise to science and environmental education. She was a proponent of the European Network for Environmental Citizenship https://enec-cost.eu involving 39 countries and 134 researchers, where she has played the role of leader of working group 1 and member of the Management Committee.

Since 2006, she has working at the Department of Didactics of Sciences in the University of Jaén (Spain) where she has a position as a Tenure now. She has been working on science and environmental education and the development of innovative approaches and tools to better equip people with the knowledge and skills necessary to face current challenges. Her main research interests are Education for Environmental Citizenship, Critical Thinking, Nature of Science (NOS), Socio-Scientific Issues (SSI), Inquiry Based Learning (IBL) and scienceenhanced learning through ICT

She has been actively engaged in several international projects such as COMPASS, PRIMAS, Mascil, PARRISE, IncluSMe, MasDiV, GEM and MOST, in the last five, as the main researcher of the Spanish team.

Vanda Cabrinha Pires, holds a B.Sc. in Geophysical Sciences/Meteorology and a M.Sc in Earth Sciences and Engineering. Senior Meteorologist/Climatologist at IPMA (Portugal meteorological service) since 1995. Main activities: climate monitoring; studies on climate variability and climate change; agrometeorology studies, specialist in extreme phenomena, especially in drought monitoring and analysis

Participates in national climate change policies and strategies for risk reduction. Participates in working groups of experts related to earth sciences and is representative of IPMA in National and International scientific and technical commissions and working groups (ex: Agricultural Meteorology Commission, Climatology Commission, National Drought Technical Group, National Commission to Combat Desertification). Currently is a Core Member of the SC-AGR Expert Team on Agromet Capacity Development and Communication, inside the Standing Committee of Services for Agriculture.

Prepare and gives training actions for technical personnel in the areas of climatology and agroclimatology; was supervisor in academic theses, in professional internships and research grants. I am an Italian Ph.D. and environmental engineer, as well as Associate Professor of Urban Hydraulic Infrastructures at the Department of Civil, Environmental and Mechanical Engineering of the University of Trento. My research interests are in the field of environmental engineering and water resources and are primarily focused on the interaction between hydrology, fluvial geomorphology, water quality and biogeochemistry. In particular, my research addresses the fate of pollutants and nutrients in river networks accounting for the interactions between surface and subsurface components of fluvial ecosystems (e. g. hyporheic and benthic zones) and quantifies the productions of nitrous oxide (one of the most important greenhouse gas responsible of climate change). My teaching activity investigates the multiple aspects related to the characterization of the main hydraulic devices that compose the urban drainage systems by including the evaluation of appropriate mitigation strategies (Best Management Practices) to reduce the effects of climate changes (i.e. runoff reduction, water quality improvement and rainwater harvesting).

I am co-author of 22 papers in ISI journals and of 2 book chapters.

Dr Eng. Radosław Barczak completed his PhD in 2014at Warsaw University of Technology (Poland). Since 2014he is a visiting fellow at UNSW, Australia, where he conducted his postdoc under the European Union Marie-Curie Fellowship and Australian Endevour Fellowship. He currently is a PI of the project titled ‘Key odorants selection based on their kinetic and degradation with the atmospheric components within the prediction of odorous range of wastewater treatment plants’, OPUS-21 from National Science Centre, Poland at Faculty of Chemistry, University of Warsaw. In addition, he has been acting as reviewers for many reputable journals. He is also the author or co-author of 22 articles in reputable peer-reviewed journals and book chapters. His scientific interests are focused on environmental odours and odorants measurements and its possibly implementation into a legal framework. Additionally, he works on odorants identification using different analytical methods. He is focusedmostly on emissions from municipal management facilities such as wastewater treatment plants and waste management facilities.

As part of her clinical practice, she focuses mainly on functional diagnostics and the quality of life of patients with acquired brain damage. Dr. Sladkova is involved in the teaching of bachelor's and master's students in physiotherapy, occupational therapy and general medicine, lectures at certification courses. She collaborates on European projects, lectures at professional conferences, publishes in domestic and foreign professional magazines. She is a hatha yoga instructor, she specializes in acupuncture, health exercises for seniors, and sports consulting. Dr. Sladkova publishes in Czech and peer-reviewed, indexed and impact journals, she is the author of textbooks on rehabilitation and about quality of life.

Rubén Rodríguez Elizalde is Geologist and Civil Engineer, PhD in Architecture and Heritage and Senior Occupational Health and Safety Degree. On professional level, he is specialized in pathology and structural rehabilitation. In addition, he has carried out preventive management tasks, fundamentally in construction, metal and entertainment sectors for the last fifteen years: he has worked as execution director, health and safety coordinator on project phase and health and safety coordinator on execution phase. In this sense, he has been health and safety coordinator of great renown works in Spain. Currently, he is a professor at various university centers, such as Universitat Oberta de Catalunya (UOC). Prof. Peñalvo-López graduated in Industrial Engineering from Marquette University (USA) and continued her postgraduate studies with a Master in Energy Technologies for Sustainable Development at the Polytechnic University of Valencia, where she also completed her Ph.D. in the Industrial Production Program with international mention.

She has 17 years of experience in energy sustainability research projects, mainly in Distributed Energy Resources, Isolated and Hybrid Renewable Systems (Biomass, Wind, Hydrogen and Fuel Cells), Energy Efficiency, Energy Sustainability Assessment and Demand Side Management. Among the scientific publications, it is worth mentioning those related to the energetic use of natural and renewable resources and decarbonizing the power system, thus favoring energy sustainability. Currently, she has published 41 articles in scientific journals and has participated in more than 39 R&D projects. It is also important to mention the collaborations with other research centers, including one at the Lawrance Berkeley National Laboratory, CA-USA working on demand response measures and policies; and at the Universita' Degli Studi Di Roma Tor Vergata where the integration of renewable energies in off-grid areas was studied.

Amal John is currently a doctoral candidate at the Centre National de Recherches Météorologiques (CNRM) / Météo-France, Toulouse, France. He is also an Early Stage Researcher and works as a member of a project consortium called Climate Advanced Forecasting of Subseaonal Extremes (CAFE), funded by the prestigious Marie Skłodowska-Curie Innovative Training Network (MSCA-ITN) under the framework of Horizon 2020 (H2020). He has a strong comprehension of the meteorological process and the capacity to construct new research ideas and solve problems through model diagnosis and experimentation. He has more than six years of climate research expertise, emphasising weather extremes and their physical mechanisms. His current research mainly focuses on quantifying and understanding the response of daily precipitation extremes to increased greenhouse gas concentrations and across various global warming levels using global projections and idealised climate change experiments from climate models.

Dr. Koffi AYASSOU, was born on June 14, 1991 in Kouvé(Togo). As a French government scholarship holder, he did his doctoral thesis in Atmospheric Chemistry, alternating between the University of Lomé in Togo and the University of Versailles Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines in France. He is a member of the Atmospheric Chemistry Laboratory (LCA) of the University of Lomé and a partner member of the Laboratory, Atmosphere, Spatial Observations (LATMOS) based in France. His areas of research focus on the observation of the ozone layer, on the emissions of theOzone Depletion Substances (ODS) such as CFCs and HCFCs, on Greenhouse Gas Emissions (GHG) include HFCs and on air pollution. Dr. Koffi AYASSOU is an expertinternationally certifiedin GHG inventory in the sector of Industrial Processes and Product Used (IPPU) by the GHGMI Institute based, in Washington in the USA.Dr. Koffi AYASSOU is also technical analysis expert member of UNFCCC (United Nations Climate Change) roster of experts. At the national level, he is one of the actors on climate change issues and contributes to the preparation of Togo’s National Communications(NCs) and Biennial Updates Reports(BUR) on climate change, and Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs) as an expert in inventory and mitigation of GHG emissions. Dr.Koffi AYASSOU is a member of the Togo climate MRV practical community, a member of the France Alumni network, a member of the ''On-road Mobile Sources'' evaluation working group as part of the Caribbean Cooperative MRV Hub since August 2020, and a member of the West African Chemical Society (SOACHIM). He is the author and co-author of several articles and communications relating to GHG emissions, ODS and HFCs emissions, atmospheric pollution and the trend of interannualvariability of the total column of ozone. Finally, Dr. Koffi AYASSOU intervenes as a temporary teacher in the Chemistry Department of the University of Lomé and as a lecturer in some private universities and training centers in Togo.

Dr. Herrera is a Colombian and Spanish citizen. He has a B.Sc. (1997) and PhD (2004) on Chemical Engineering, both with emphasis on LCA, by the Industrial University of Santander (Colombia) and Rovira & Virgili University (Spain). Since December 2006 Dr. Herrera has been a postdoctoral researcher at the sustainability analysis unit at CIEMAT, in Madrid (http://rdgroups.ciemat.es/web/ase). He has taken part in more than ninety (90) national and international events (courses, congresses, seminars, colloquia), on life cycle analysis (LCA), environmental evaluation, integral management of residues, cleaner production, and environmental and socio-economic aspects of the energy, some of them supported by the organizing organisms in diverse national and international institutions (Colombia, Mexico, Ecuador, and Spain). He is author or co-author of more than forty (40) articles, communications, and collective works, related to his specialty. Currently, he takes part in projects related, circular economy, bioeconomy, and sustainability analysis through the life cycle inventory analysis and impacts assessment with particular application to convert waste to raw materials approach. Dr. Herrera is a member of ACPN (Advanced Cleaner Production Network) and LCA_SP (Spanish network of life cycle assessment)

GangZhang received his PhD in Polymer Chemistry and Physics, at Sichuan University in 2010. He is currently a professor at State Key Laboratory of Polymer Materials Engineering (Sichuan University) and Institute of Materials Science & Technology. He has authored over 90 publications in international journals and 1 book. He won the nomination medal of the IAAM- (International Association of Advanced Materials) (2021)；His research interests are fabrication of high performance membranes such as OSN membrane, water treatment membrane and stimulus- intelligent membrane; preparation and industrialization of high-performance and heat-resistant special engineering polymers such as polyarylene sulfide (PAS), aromatic polyamide, semi- aromatic polyamide, polyethersulfone (PES), polyarylate (PAR) and heterocyclic optical resin materials.

Barathan Balaji-Prasath completed his PhD in Marine science at Bharathidasan University (India). He was a visiting fellow during 2016-2019 atBeijing Normal University-Hong Kong Baptist University, China. Currently, He is a researcher and academic at the school of Environmental science and Engineering of the Fujian Normal University. He is a member of the interdisciplinary advisory team and coordinator of graduate program of river and lake assessment. An expert in the field of coastal ecology, early warning, harmful algae bloom, prediction and control, carbon cycling, ecosystem services and river and lake health assessment. In addition, he has been acting as reviewers for many reputable journals. He is also the author or co-author of 52 articles in peer-reviewed journals and a book chapter.

Margarida Belo Pereira completed her PhD in Atmospheric Physics at IUT Paul Sabatier (France) and Physics at the University of Évora, in co-supervision, in May 2006. Currently, she is a researcher at the Department of Meteorology and Geophysics of the Portuguese Institute of Sea and Atmosphere. Her main scientific interests are windstorms; thunderstorms; tornadoes; downbursts; mountain waves, aviation turbulence and aircraft icing. In addition, she develops algorithms based on NWP models, focusing on improving forecasts of Aviation Weather Hazards. She is responsible for the operational implementation of these products in the Portuguese Meteorological Watch Office and for the training of aviation meteorologists on the developed products. She is also the author or co-author of 25 articles in peer-reviewed journals and a book chapter.

Mr. Lateef Olalekan Bello was born in Lagos, Nigeria. He attended his primary and tertiary education in Nigeria. Lateef has a keen interest in Agriculture. He obtained his first degree (BTech) in Agricultural Economics and Extension at the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Ogbomoso, Nigeria. He obtained his Master’s degree with a “Cum laude” in Agricultural Economics at the prestigious University of KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa. Lateef sojourned into other universities in Europe and West Africa under the Erasmus+ and Intra Africa Mobility Scholarship Program where he took up courses in Economics at HEC Business School, University of Liege, Belgium and Agricultural Economics at the Department of Agricultural Economics and Extension, University of Cape Coast, Ghana.

El-Gendy is the Head of Technology Innovation Support Center (TISC) office, Vice Head of Center of Excellence and member in Entrepreneurship Hub in October University for Modern Sciences and Arts, MSA University. Dr. Geminn Louis Apostol is a community doctor, educator and researcher specializing in Environmental Public Health, Climate-Resilient Health Systems and Socio-ecological determinants of health. Over a decade-long career in public health, he has been engaged in various initiatives that range from research on sustainable supply chains, capacity-building for primary care, innovations in disaster resilience of local health systems, and developmental efforts towards mainstreaming environmental health research, practice, and advocacy in the Philippines. As lead environmental health specialist for the ASMPH Center for Research and Innovation, Dr. Apostol and his team generate and synthesize local evidence towards understanding (and effectively responding towards) the impacts of climate change, environmental pollution and related disasters to human health. Thus far, the environmental health team has conducted research on the areas of pollution and health (outdoor and indoor air, hazardous and healthcare waste, plastic pollution), health impact assessments on critical government projects (Manila Bay white sand project, Waste-to-Energy technologies), and health risk monitoring from environmental events such as the 2019 Southeast Asian Haze, 2020 Taal Volcano eruption and the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. In 2019, Dr. Apostol and his team were tapped to develop the Philippine Environmental Health Service Delivery Operational framework to guide the Department of Health and local health authorities in implementing environmental health services under the Universal Health Care Law. To ensure that research is effectively utilized and translated to better policies and programs, Dr. Apostol also serves as a scientific expert the Philippine Inter-agency Committee on Environmental Health (IACEH) where he helps convene various government and non-government agencies, civil society and other sectoral representatives.

Xiaoguang Ouyang is a postdoctoral fellow at The Chinese University of Hong Kong. He obtained his PhD in the area of marine ecology from Griffith University, Australia. He was a visiting scientist during June 2016-March 2018 at WasserClusterLunz– Inter-university Centre for Aquatic Ecosystem Research, Austria. Xiaoguang’s research focus on coastal wetland ecology, with recent research interest in carbon cycling, ecosystem services and multi-criteion decision-making. He has published 13 papers in top-tier journals,and the first-author of 11 papers. He is the co-chair of ECSA56 conference session, and the board member of Cambridge Scholar Publishing. He has been acting as reviewers for many reputable journals, including but not limited to Biogeosciences, Biology letters and Science of the Total Environment.
