Zhu Han received the B.S. degree in electronic engineering from Tsinghua University, in 1997, and the M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in electrical and computer engineering from the University of Maryland, College Park, in 1999 and 2003, respectively. From 2000 to 2002, he was an R&D Engineer of JDSU, Germantown, Maryland. From 2003 to 2006, he was a Research Associate at the University of Maryland. From 2006 to 2008, he was an assistant professor at Boise State University, Idaho. Currently, he is a John and Rebecca Moores Professor in the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department as well as in the Computer Science Department at the University of Houston, Texas. His research interests include wireless resource allocation and management, wireless communications and networking, game theory, big data analysis, security, and smart grid. Dr. Han received an NSF Career Award in 2010, the Fred W. Ellersick Prize of the IEEE Communication Society in 2011, the EURASIP Best Paper Award for the Journal on Advances in Signal Processing in 2015, IEEE Leonard G. Abraham Prize in the field of Communications Systems (best paper award in IEEE JSAC) in 2016, and several best paper awards in IEEE conferences. Currently, Dr. Han is IEEE fellow since 2014, AAAS fellow since 2019 and ACM distinguished member since 2019. Dr. Han is 1% highly cited researchers according to Web of Science since 2017.

Professor Nadia Magnenat Thalmann has pioneered research into virtual humans over the last 30 years. She obtained several Bachelor's and Master's degrees in various disciplines (Psychology, Biology and Biochemistry) and a PhD in Quantum Physics from the University of Geneva in 1977. From 1977 to 1989, she was a Professor at the University of Montreal in Canada and then Professor at the University of Geneva. She was Vice-Rector at the University of Geneva from 2003-2006. She is a Member and President of high level international evaluation committees, among the recent ones the Jury of the Vienna Science and Technology Fund, the Advisory Board for Computer Science at Tsinghua University in Beijing, China, the Canada Excellence Research Chairs Review Panel in Ottawa and the European Research Council (ERC). During her Career, she has received more than 30 Awards such as “Woman in the Year”, the early recognition in Montreal in 1987. Among the recent ones, she was awarded a Doctor Honoris Causa in Natural Sciences from the Leibniz University of Hanover in Germany in 2009, the Distinguished Career Award from the European Association for Computer Graphics in Norrkoping, Sweden and an Honorary Doctorate of the University in Ottawa in 2010, a Career Achievement Award from the Canadian Human Computer Communications Society in Toronto in 2012, and the prestigious Humboldt Research Award in Germany. Besides directing her research group MIRALab in Switzerland, she is presently Professor and Director of the Institute for Media Innovation (IMI) at Nanyang Technological University, Singapore.

Yi Ma is a Professor at the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences at the University of California, Berkeley. His research interests include computer vision, high-dimensional data analysis, and intelligent systems. Yi received his Bachelor’s degrees in Automation and Applied Mathematics from Tsinghua University in 1995, two Masters degrees in EECS and Mathematics in 1997, and a PhD degree in EECS from UC Berkeley in 2000. He has been on the faculty of UIUC ECE from 2000 to 2011, the principal researcher and manager of the Visual Computing group of Microsoft Research Asia from 2009 to 2014, and the Executive Dean of the School of Information Science and Technology of Shanghai Tech University from 2014 to 2017. He then joined the faculty of UC Berkeley EECS in 2018. He has published about 60 journal papers, 120 conference papers, and three textbooks in computer vision, generalized principal component analysis, and high-dimensional data analysis. He received the NSF Career award in 2004 and the ONR Young Investigator award in 2005. He also received the David Marr prize in computer vision from ICCV 1999 and best paper awards from ECCV 2004 and ACCV 2009. He has served as the Program Chair for ICCV 2013 and the General Chair for ICCV 2015. He is a Fellow of IEEE, ACM, and SIAM.

Sarit Kraus (Ph.D. Computer Science, Hebrew University, 1989) is a Professor of Computer Science at Bar-Ilan University. Her research is focused on intelligent agents and multi-agent systems integrating machine-learning techniques with optimization and game theory methods. In particular, she studies the development of intelligent agents that can interact proficiently with people and with robots. She has also contributed to the research on machine learning, agent optimization, autonomous vehicles, homeland security, adversarial patrolling, social networks and nonmonotonic reasoning. For her work she received many prestigious awards. She was awarded the IJCAI Computers and Thought Award, the ACM SIGART Agents Research award, the ACM Athena Lecturer, the EMET prize and was twice the winner of the IFAAMAS influential paper award. She is an ACM, AAAI and EurAI fellow and a recipient of the advanced ERC grant. She also received a special commendation from the city of Los Angeles, together with Prof. Tambe, Prof. Ordonez and their USC students, for the creation of the ARMOR security scheduling system. She has published over 400 papers in leading journals and major conferences and co-authored five books. She is a member of the board of directors of the International Foundation for Multi-agent Systems (IFAAMAS) and was IJCAI 2019 program chair. She is an elected member of the Israel Academy of Sciences and Humanities.

Wanli Ouyang obtained Ph.D from the Dept. of Electronic Engineering , the Chinese University of Hong Kong. He is now an associate professor at the University of Sydney. His research interests include deep learning and its application to computer vision and pattern recognition, image and video processing.

Cheng-Lin Liu received the B.S. degree in electronic engineering from Wuhan University, Wuhan, China, the M.E. degree in electronic engineering f rom Beijing Polytechnic University (currently Beijing University of Technology), Beijing, China, the Ph.D. degree in pattern recognition and intelligen t control from the Institute of Automation of Chinese Academy of Sciences, Beijing, China, in 1989, 1992 and 1995, respectively. He was a postdoctoral fellow a t Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST) and later at Tokyo University of Agriculture and Technology from March 1996 to March 1999. From 1999 to 2004, he was a research staff member and later a senior researcher at the Central Research Laboratory, Hitachi, Ltd., Tokyo, Japan. From 2005, he has been a Professor a t the National Laboratory of Pattern Recognition (NLPR), Institute of Automation of Chinese Academy of Sciences, Beijing, China, and is now the director of the laboratory. His research interests include pattern recognition, image processing, neural networks, machine learning, and especially the applications to character r ecognition and document analysis. He has contributed many effective methods to different aspects of handwritten document analysis, including image pre-processing, feature extraction, classifier design, character string recognition, and language modeling. His algorithms have yielded superior performance, and have been transferred to industrial applications including mail sorting and form processing. He has published over 200 technical papers at prestigious international journals and conferences, including IEEE TPAMI, Pattern Recognition, IEEE TNN, ICPR, ICDAR, CVPR, ICDM, AAAI and IJCAI. He won the IAPR/ICDAR Young Investigator Award of 2005, and received the Outstanding Youth Fund of NSFC in 2008. He is on the editorial board of journals Pattern Recognition, Image and Vision Computing, and International Journal on Document Analysis a nd Recognition. He is a Fellow of the IEEE and the IAPR, member of the ACM and the IEICE Japan.

Dr Christian Laugier is Research Director Emeritus at Inria and responsible of the Autonomous Vehicle R&D activities within the Inria Chroma team-project (https://team.inria.fr/chroma/); he was previously Scientific Leader of the e-Motion team-project (http://emotion.inrialpes.fr) common to Inria Grenoble Rhône-Alpes and to the LIG laboratory of the Grenoble University (2000-14). He received the PhD and the Doctor Es Science degrees in Computer Science from Grenoble University in 1976 and 1987 respectively. Professor Young-Jin Cha received his Ph.D. (2008) from Texas A&M University in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering. He served as a post-doctoral associate at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) until 2014. He then joined the Department of Civil Engineering at the University of Manitoba in 2014. His key scientific contribution is advanced deep learning-based automated structural health monitoring (SHM) with autonomous unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). He was reported as the top 0.45% and 0.65% cited scientist within the Civil Engineering field and the top 2% cited scientist in all areas for single-year impact in the world in 2020 and 2021 from the Mendeley metadata of citations analyzed by Elsevier and coordinated by Stanford University. He has been reported more than serval hundred times as the most read author, most read research items, and citations in the Civil Engineering Dept. at U of M, with more than 98,000 readings since his account on www.researchgate.net was opened (retrieved on March 19, 2022). He was named in 2005 Who’s Who in America,’ and organized many symposiums at the MIT and Caltech through Engineering Mechanics Institute Conferences on the topics of Deep Learning and Autonomous UAVs for SHM. He is serving as an Associate Editor in Engineering Report, Wiley and International Conference on Pattern Recognition, Editorial Board Members, and core peer-reviewers and in many top engineering journals associated with ASCE, Elsevier, IEEE, and Wiley. He is also serving and was severed as Chairman, Co-Chairs, and Technical/Organizing Committee member in many internal conferences in his research discipline such as AI and SHM.

Michael Short is a professor of control engineering and systems informatics at Teesside University in the UK and leads the multidisciplinary Centre for Sustainable Engineering. He holds a BEng degree in electronic and electrical engineering (1999, Sunderland) and a PhD degree in real-time robot control (2003, Sunderland). Michael’s research interests encompass aspects of applied control engineering and systems informatics applied to smart energy systems and robotics. He has authored over 160 reviewed publications in international conferences and journals, has received over 1400 citations and has won six best paper awards. He currently has an h-index of 22 and an i-10 index of 40. He has supervised six PhD completions and is investigator on numerous completed and ongoing funded research projects. He is an associate editor for the International Journal of Energies, a full member of the IET and a fellow of the HEA.

Salman Khan is an Associate Professor at MBZ University of Artificial Intelligence. He has been an Adjunct faculty member with Australian National University since 2016. He worked as a Senior scientist with the Inception Institute of AI (2018-2020) and as a Research Scientist with Data61-CSIRO from 2016-2018. He has been awarded the outstanding reviewer award at IEEE CVPR multiple times, won the best paper award at 9th ICPRAM 2020, and won 2nd prize in the NTIRE Image Enhancement Competition alongside CVPR 2019. He served as a program committee member for several premier conferences including CVPR, ICCV, ICLR, ECCV and NeurIPS. He received his Ph.D. degree from The University of Western Australia in 2016. His thesis received an honorable mention on the Dean’s List Award. He has published over 80 papers in top scientific journals and conferences. His research interests include computer vision and machine learning.

Jung, Younbo (Ph.D., University of Southern California) is an Associate Professor and Associate Chair (Academic) at the Wee Kim Wee School of Communication and Information, Nanyang Technological University Singapore. His research interests include socio-psychological effects of interactive media such as video games, virtual reality systems, and human-robot interaction, and their applications in medical and educational fields. Dr. Jung’s current project addresses various issues emerged from the ageing and modern society, known as Gerontechnology, Heath Tech, or Age Tech. His current projects examine the issue of public trust on artificial intelligence.

He was born in Zeribet El-Oued (Biskra), Algeria, in 1971. He received the Engineer diploma from the Hydraulic Department, Biskra University, Algeria, in 1996 and the M.S. from National High School of Water Engineering and Environment, Strasbourg, France, and Ph.D. degrees from Biskra University, Algeria, in 2005 and 2014, respectively. Currently, he is a Full Professor in the Hydraulic Department, at the Sciences and Applied sciences faculty, Oum El-Bouaghi University, Algeria. His research interests include the application of Machine Learning, Deep learning, Massive Machine learning, Hybrid modeling, and Data mining in Thermo-Hydraulics, Water engineering, and Air quality.

Olivera Kotevska is a Research Scientist in Computer Science and Mathematics Division (CSMD) at Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL). She received her Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Grenoble Alpes, France, in 2018. Her research is in privacy algorithms and machine learning for energy and national security applications. She has published and regularly serves as a program committee member at the top conferences in these domains and served in organizational roles, including Co-Chair of IEEE Big Data Industry and Government Program, Co-Chair of Computational Analytical Methods Subcommittee at IEEE Power and Energy Systems, and Co-Editor of Sensors journal special issue IoT Data Analytics. Additionally, she was a presenter of reinforcement learning tutorial at IoTBD’21 and data science for IoT tutorial at ACM RTDC’19. Bogdan Belean was born in Targu-Mures, Romania, on February 7, 1983. He received his B.S. and Ph.D degree in electronics and communication engineering from the Technical University of Cluj-Napoca, Romania in 2006 and 2010, respectively. He is currently a scientific researcher within the INCDTIM, Cluj-Napoca. His research interests include signal and image processing, bioinformatics, and application-specific hardware architectures for parallel computing.

Dr. M. A. C. Akmal Jahan is a senior lecturer in Computer Science, attached to the department of Computer Science, Faculty of Aplied Sciences, South Eastern University of Sri Lanka. She has completed her Ph.D at Queensland University of Technology, Australia and received her M.Sc. degree in Computer Science from University of Peradeniya, Sri Lanka. MOHAMED ELHAG M. ABO is a data analyst in the Sudanese standard and metrology Organization (SSMO) statistical and information section. I hold an MSc in IT and pursuing my PhD. in computer science in the Natural Language Processing (NLP) Department of Artificial Intelligence at the University of Malaya, Malaysia. Prior to my appointment, I worked as a Research Assistant (2019 – 2020) at the Department of AI, Faculty of Computer Science and Information Technology, the University of Malaya. his achievement was published in 3 highly ranked peer-reviewed journals. YUGANG LIU received the B.E. from the University of Science and Technology, Beijing, China in 1999, the M.A.Sc. degree from Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications, Beijing, China in 2002, and Ph.D. degree from University of Toronto, ON, Canada in 2019. From 2002 to 2006, he was a research assistant in Faculty of Science and Technology, University of Macau, Macao, China. From 2006 to 2012, he was a research associate in the Department of Aerospace Engineering, Ryerson University, Toronto, ON, Canada. From 2017 to 2020, he was the team lead of Autonomous Navigation Division at Engineering Service Inc. (ESI), Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Since May, 2020, he has been an assistant professor with Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Royal Military College of Canada, Kingston, ON, Canada. He has authored or coauthored more than 40 papers in international journals and conference proceedings. He was the recipient of IFAC Mechatronics Journal Best Paper Award (2014), and his research interests include autonomous navigation, autonomous exploration, learning-based robotics control, mobile manipulation, as well as robotic search and rescue.

Dr. Shani Alkoby is a faculty member at the industrial engineering and management department at Ariel University. She is the co-founder of the collaborative human-agent relationship management (CHARM) lab. Before joining Ariel University, she served as a postdoctoral researcher at the computer science department at The University of Texas at Austin. Shani completed her Ph.D. in computer science at Bar-Ilan University. Her main research interest is exploring ways information can be provided and used in various multiagent systems. During her Ph.D. she focused on competitive multiagent systems. Specifically, on three highly applicable settings: auctions, economic search, and interaction with people. During her postdoc, Shani has expanded her research to also include non-competitive multiagent systems such as ad-hoc teamwork and transportation. Her research includes both theoretical analysis and online empirical experiments.

Zbigniew Nawrat - scientist, inventor, teacher, visionary. He is a theoretician physicist by profession (University of Silesia Degree in 1984), who the own whole professional activity associated with the medicine (Doctorate of Medical Academy of Silesia in 1997 – subject artificial heart, 2013 habilitation – subject medical robotics). He is an author of pioneer research in the artificial organ domain, especially heart prostheses. Polish ventricular assist device POLVAD was first clinically applied in 1993. Still in use. 1,200 were sold. For the longest, almost two years, the patient has had a successful heart recovery. He is the father of the cardiac surgery robot Robin Heart - which is the first Polish and European telemanipulator for heart surgery (licenses for one of the Robin Heart models PVA were sold in 2019). He is also a pioneer in application the of computer simulation & virtual space technology to the surgical planning process. Currently, it is developing the possibilities of implementing AI and expanding the field of application of robots in medicine. Zbigniew Nawrat works at Medical University of Silesia (ass. prof. in Biophysics Department) as well as in the Foundation of Cardiac Surgery Development as Creative Director now. He is a member of the Biomechanics section of the Polish Academy of Sciences. He is an organizer of many conferences and workshops e.g. annually: BioMedTech Silesia, Surgical Workshop, and Medical Robots Conference. Farah JEMILIhad an Engineer degree in Computer Science in 2002 and the Ph.D. degree in 2010. As a researcher at Cisco-Curtin Centre for Networks, EECMS Curtin University, I am currently addressing various research challenges relevant to SDN, Intent Based Networking,Multi-Access Edge Computing, and 5G performance evaluation.

Mohammad Ahmadi Ganjei received his degrees in computer engineering and artificial intelligence from Shiraz University, Iran, and has years of experience collecting, cleaning, and interpreting data. He has many publications: book, journal and conference papers. He had been a Data Scientist and Machine Learning researcher in some companies. His research interests include Machine Learning, Image Processing, Data Science, Deep Learning, Bioinformatics, Reinforcement Learning, and Natural language processing. But in the past few years, his focus has been on Feature Selection, Computer Vision, and High-Dimensional Data.

Taku Senoo received the B. E. degree in applied physics from Waseda University, Japan, in 2003, and the M. E. and the Ph. D. degrees in information physics and computing from the University of Tokyo, Japan, in 2005 and 2008, respectively. He is currently an Associate Professor with Hiroshima University, Japan. He was a Research Fellow of Japan Society for the Promotion of Science from 2005 to 2008, a Project Research Fellow from 2008 to 2010, a Project Assistant Professor from 2010 to 2015, an Assistant Professor from 2015 to 2018, and a Lecturer of information physics and computing at the University of Tokyo from 2018 to 2020. He has been recognized with IEEE ICRA Best Manipulation Paper Award, IEEE/RSJIROS Best Jubilee Video Award, and IEEE ROBIO T. J. Tarn Best Paper in Robotics Award. He is promoting research about the design of cognitive behavior system based on real-time sensory feedback and applications of robotics and FA. In particular, he has developed multi-fingered hand-arm system and bipedal running robot to achieve high-speed and dynamic manipulation with dexterity beyond human capability.

Graduated in Mathematics, he developed a thesis on mathematical models working at CERN (European Center for Nuclear Research) in Geneva. Deputy director of the Laboratory of Epistemology of Education at the University of Ferrara, he is a Doctor of Education (PhD), collaborates with numerous Italian and foreign universities. Researcher at the University of Ferrara, he has developed research on "Structured Models of Learning Objects and interactive functionality for on-line training". The interests of his research are addressed to the structuring of knowledge, ontologies and metalanguages with particular attention to epistemological foundations and cognitive styles. In this context he is interested in research in the field of educated robotics, and in the applications of deep learning and learning machines in learning-teaching processes. He works in the field of educational technologies with a view to the relationship with the methodologies and processes of construction of knowledge, with particular attention to languages, code and the formalization of knowledge. Matter expert for the scientific disciplinary sector M-PED / 01, at the Department of Humanities of the University of Ferrara. Member of the main scientific pedagogical societies and of editorial and scientific committees of national andinternational journals. Speaker at various international conferences and author of numerous publications, some indexed in the main research publications archives including SCOPUS and Web of Science.

Mika Sato-Ilic holds positions as Professor in the University of Tsukuba, Vice President in the National Statistics Center of Japan, committee member in the Financial Services Agency of Japan, and a member of the Science Council of Japan. She is the founding Editor-in-Chief of the International Journal of Knowledge Engineering and Soft Data Paradigms, Associate Editor of the IEEE Transactions on Fuzzy Systems, Neurocomputing, Information Sciences, and on the editorial board of several journals. She is an ISI Elected Member and was a Council of the International Association for Statistical Computing (a section of the International Statistical Institute), a Senior Member of the IEEE where she held several positions, including the Vice-Chair of the Fuzzy Systems Technical Committee of the IEEE Computational Intelligence Society, and worked on several IEEE committees. Her academic output includes four books, 14 book chapters, and over 140 journal and conference papers.

Jin-Woo Jung (Member, IEEE) received the B.S. and M.S. degrees in electrical engineering from Hanyang University, Seoul, South Korea, in 1991 and 1997, respectively, and the Ph.D. degree in electrical and computer engineering from The Ohio State University, Columbus, OH, USA, in 2005.,From 1997 to 2000, he was with the Home Appliance Research Laboratory, LG Electronics Company Ltd., Seoul. From 2005 to 2008, he was a Senior Engineer with the Research and Development Center and the PDP Development Team, Samsung SDI Company Ltd., South Korea. Since 2008, he has been a Professor with the Division of Electronics and Electrical Engineering, Dongguk University, Seoul. His research interests include DSP-based electric machine drives, distributed generation systems using renewable energy sources, and power conversion systems and drives for electric vehicles.

Dr. Yuanchang Liu received the B.Eng. degree in control engineering from the Dalian University of Technology, in 2010, the M.Sc. degree in power systems engineering, and the Ph.D. degree in marine control engineering from University College London, in 2011 and 2016, respectively, where he is currently a Lecturer with the Department of Mechanical Engineering. Before joining the department, he was a Research Fellow in robotic vision and autonomous vehicles of the Surrey Space Centre, University of Surrey. His research focuses on automation and autonomy, with a special interest in the exploration of technologies for sensing and perception, and guidance and control of intelligent and autonomous vehicles. He is currently supervising four Ph.D. students, working on the project of autonomous navigation for field robotics in uncontrolled and unstructured environments.

Zhi-Xin Yang (M'14) obtained his BEng in mechanical engineering from Huazhong University of Science and Technology and a Ph.D. degree in industrial engineering and engineering management from the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, China in 1992 and 2000, respectively. He is currently an Associate Professor with the State Key Laboratory of Internet of Things for Smart City and the Department of Electromechanical Engineering, and also acts as Director of Research Services and Knowledge Transfer Office, University of Macau, Macau, China. His research interests include prognostic health management of electromechanical systems, machine vision-based robotics, intelligent safety monitoring and maintenance.

I am professor of the Bauman Moscow State University, where I work for about 50 years. During 1997 – 2012 I was the head of the chair Robotic Systems in our University. Suppose I’m a specialist in Control theory, Robotics and Ergonomics. Now and then I’ve published 7 books (in Russian) on these subjects, more part of them together with coauthors, and a lot of papers. Some of them were published in international conference proceedings such as ICR (Interactive Collaborative Robotics, ICAIR(International Conference on Artificial Intelligence and Robotics) ISAIC(International Symposium on Automation, Information and Computing)and our ER (Extreme Robotics), where I am a member of conference program committee. For the last time our attention is attracted to the problems of collaborative robotic systems connected with psychological aspects of human-robot interface and cooperation. In our Robotic Centre which is a part of our University we investigate these problems together with students and post-graduates both from our country and abroad. Suppose some results of our work is of interest for colleagues.

Heng Yu received his Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from National University of Singapore (NUS) in 2011. He is now an Assistant Professor in the School of Computer Science, University of Nottingham Ningbo China. He used to work as an Assistant Professor in the United Arab Emirate University, a research fellow in NUS, and a research scientist in University of Erlangen-Nuremberg, Germany. His research interests include system-level scheduling algorithms and architectures of edge computing systems, autonomous vehicles, and reconfigurable circuits. His work received the best paper award or nominations at ACM CF’17, FPT’13, and SAFECOMP’12. He is currently an Associate Editor of IEEE Transactions on Circuits and System II: Express Briefs.

Israel is a co-founder and CTO of Chapa Financial Technologies SC, which is an Ethiopian financial service and a data engineering company headquartered in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. The company primarily focuses on solving payments problems securely for ambitious businesses and governmental organizations in developing countries, mainly in East Africa. With its solutions, Chapa helped different governmental organizations to collect more than 6 Million USD in a very short period of time. Before co-founding Chapa, he was a researcher at NBU-MSE Lab, supervised by Tao Weidong, working on two-photon polymerization and their smart printing methods. Right before that, he was working in Yoshua Bengio's lab Mila Montréal on problems related to Humanitarian AI, Multi-Frame Super-Resolution and climate change with Kris Sankaran and Yoshua Bengio. His research interests lie in machine learning, data mining and deep learning in particle physics. He is mostly interested in physics and financial real-world problems and machine learning especially applying deep learning algorithms to solve numerous physics and financial sector problems.

Jun KURIHARA is a Research Director, Canon Institute for Global Studies (CIGS), a Tokyo-based think tank (2009 to present). His research focuses on Japan’s industrial rejuvenation in the digital age (Élan vital for Japan). Currently. his research project is concerned with a socio-economic approach to develop empathetic robots for older adults and persons with physical disabilities; heis working with Dr. Kiyoshi Kurokawa, professor emeritus at the University of Tokyo and Tokai University, and former president of the Science Council of Japan. He has served as a member of various institutions, includingthe Japanese government’s Research Institute of Economy, Trade and Industry (RIETI) (liaison officer), KwanseiGakuin University (visiting professor), and Ono Pharmaceutical (member of the board).After earning an M.A. from Kyoto University in Japan, he served as a senior fellow at the Harvard Kennedy School (HKS) between 2003 and 2012.

David Ostrowski has over 30 years professional experience in software development between the areas of connected vehicle analytics, Intelligent controls, manufacturing simulation, agent-based modeling, database and real-time data acquisition. David currently works in Ford Motor Product Development Business Office as the Artificial Intelligence Leader as well as an adjunct professor at Lawrence Technological University teaching courses recently in Artificial Intelligence, Analysis of Algorithms and Theory of Computation. He received his B.B.A. in Management Information Systems from University of Michigan-Dearborn as well as an M.S. and Ph.D. in Computer Science from Wayne State University. Dr. Ostrowski has over forty refereed publications, seven patents, two book chapters, numerous technical reports, and participates within several technical committees including IEEE TEC transactions, IEEE ICSC, IEEE AI4I and IEEE ICIOS.

Priya Persaud, Esq. is an intellectual property attorney at Banner & Witcoff, Ltd. in Washington, D.C.Priya’s practice is focused on the preparation and prosecution of patent applications across an array of technologies within computer and electrical engineering, including artificial intelligence systems, computer software, mobile devices, wireless systems, blockchain network technology, and security and authentication systems. Priya graduated from Montclair State University in Montclair, New Jersey, USA, where she obtained Bachelors degrees in Computer Science, Jurisprudence, and Political Science, with minors in Mathematics and Physics. As an undergraduate student, Priya explored the intersection of artificial intelligence and the justice system through a number of research projects. Priya’s first research project (“The Possibility of Establishing the Citizenry of the Future: The Inclusion of Artificial Intelligence Begins Within the Justice System,” Presented at Montclair State University 10th Annual Student Research Symposium, Montclair, NJ, April 2016) set the stage for her subsequent research and, ultimately, for her career as an attorney. Priya, under the guidance of her undergraduate professors and colleagues in industry, expanded the reach of her research by studying the computer science principles and robotics programming techniques associated with autonomous vehicles within smart cities (“Domain Specific Knowledge Bases with Common Sense Knowledge for Autonomous Vehicles in Smart Cities,” Presented at NSF GS-LSAMP Undergraduate Research Conference, New Brunswick, NJ, October 2016), where her work was funded by the National Science Foundation GS-LSAMP grant program at Montclair State University. Priya then combined her interests in autonomous vehicles and common sense knowledge repositories with her desire to learn about the inclusion of artificial intelligence beings within the justice system (“Common Sense Knowledge, Humanoid Robots, and Human Rights,” Presented at IEEE MIT Undergraduate Research Technology Conference, Cambridge, MA, November 2016; “Enhancing Autonomous Vehicles with Commonsense: Smart Mobility in Smart Cities,” Proceedings IEEE ICTAI 1008-1012, 2017). Upon graduating from Montclair State University, Priya attended Rutgers Law School in Newark, New Jersey, USA, where she graduated with a Juris Doctor degree. As a law student, Priya further explored the intersection of artificial intelligence and the justice system, this time studying case law centered on the criminal liability of machines (Protecting Against Ultron: Exploring the Potential Criminal Liability of Self-Programming Deep Learning Machines, 72 RUTGERS U. L. REV. 577 (2020)). Priya, along with colleagues and mentors in the industry, continues to study and explore advancements surrounding artificial intelligence beings and the ways in which the justice system may recognize such advancements and such beings (“Can Robots Get Some Human Rights? A Cross-Disciplinary Discussion,” Journal of Robotics, Vol. 21, Article ID 5461703, 11 pages, 2021). Priya aims to further her research on the influence of artificial intelligence advancements over the justice system and the possibility of recognizing artificial intelligence beings within the justice system.

Dr. Feng Liu is a machine learning researcher with research interests in hypothesis testing and trustworthy machine learning. His long-term goal is to develop trustworthy intelligent systems that can learn reliable knowledge from massive related but different domains automatically. Currently, he is a Lecturer at the Australian Artificial Intelligence Institute (AAII), University of Technology Sydney (UTS), Australia, and a Visiting Scientist at RIKEN-AIP, Japan. He was the recipient of Australian Laureate postdoctoral fellowship and received his Ph.D. degree in computer science at UTS-AAII in 2020, advised by Dist. Prof. Jie Lu and Prof. Guangquan Zhang. He was a research intern with the AI Residency Program at RIKEN Center for Advanced Intelligence Project (RIKEN-AIP), working on the trustworthy domain adaptation project with Prof. Masashi Sugiyama, Dr. Gang Niu, and Dr. Bo Han. He visited Gatsby Computational Neuroscience Unit at UCL and worked on the hypothesis testing project with Prof. Arthur Gretton, Dr. Danica J. Sutherland and Wenkai Xu. He has served as program committee (PC) members for NeurIPS, ICML, ICLR, AISTATS, ACML. He also serves as a reviewer for many academic journals, such as IEEE-TPAMI, IEEE-TNNLS, IEEE-TFS, and AMM. He has received the Outstanding Reviewer Award of NeurIPS (2021), the Outstanding Reviewer Award of ICLR (2021), the UTS-FEIT HDR Research Excellence Award (2019), the Best Student Paper Award of FUZZ-IEEE (2019) and the UTS Research Publication Award (2018).

Sheng Li is an Associate Professor at the School of Computer Sciences, Peking University. He works as a member of the Graphics and Interaction Lab. His research interests include virtual reality/augmented reality, graphics, intelligent human-computer interaction. He has published over 40 refereed papers in prestigious international conferences and journals, including ACM TOG, IEEE TVCG, IEEE VR, etc. He holds more than 50 Chinese/U.S.A patents. He is a member of ACM and IEEE, Standing Committee of Technical Committee Virtual Reality and Visualization Technology, CCF, Committee of Technical Committee Computer Graphics and CAD, CCF, China. He focuses on bringing graphics, vision, visualization, HCI, AI together for future VR/AR technology.

Dr. Wong received the PhD degree in computer vision from the University of Cambridge in 2001. Since then, he has been with the Department of Computer Science at The University of Hong Kong, where he is now an associate professor and the director of Computer Vision Laboratory. His research interests are in computer vision and machine intelligence. His research works include camera calibration, shape and motion recovery, face sketch synthesis and recognition, scene text recognition, object retrieval, and medical image understanding. He has published over 140 peer-reviewed journal and conference papers. Many of his works appear in top venues, including CVPR, ECCV, ICCV, TPAMI, IJCV, and TIP. He is currently an associate editor of IJCV. He regularly serves in the program committee of all major computer vision conferences (e.g., CVPR, ECCV, ICCV, BMVC, ICIP, and ACCV), and is a frequent reviewer of major computer vision journals (e.g., TPAMI, IJCV, and TIP).

Ass. Prof. Christos P. Antonopoulos received his Diploma and PhD at Electrical Engineering and Computer Technology from ECE Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Technology, University of Patras Greece in 2002 and 2008 respectively. From 2019 he holds the position of Assistant Professor at the ECE Department of University of the Peloponnese, Greece. From 2002, he has been involved in more than 12 European projects (FP5,6,7 and Horizon 2020) and more than 6 Greek National research projects holding key positions both technical as well as managerial while he has participated in preparation of a high number of research project proposals. He has published high number (>100) of research papers and 13 book chapters in international journals and conferences which have received over 800 citations while he has served as editor to two Springer books. From 2005 he has worked and collaborated as Senior Researcher for several research institutions (Industrial System Institute (ISI) Patras, ECE Dept University of Patras, Technological and Educational Institute of Western Greece, Hellenic Open University) and industrial companies (INTRACOM-Telecom, NOESIS). Over the years, he has reviewed a high number of submitted paper for high quality IEEE, ACM, Elsevier, Springer and Hindawi, MDPI Journals and conferences and he has served as organizer, PC/TC member and session chair in several prestigious international conferences. Additionally, from 2003 he has worked continuously as adjunct assistant professor for various departments at Greek Universities and Technological Institutes. His main research interests include: Wireless Networks, Network Communication Protocols, Network Simulation, Performance Evaluation, Embedded Software, Sensor Networks, Wireless Broadband Access Networks, Embedded System Architecture and Programming, Cross-Layer protocols, Wireless Networks power optimization.

He built Marion surgical from concept during his PhD program, through hiring and managing the team, patent registration, prototype, to international sales. His PhD in Computer Science research is focused on the mash up of Haptics and Virtual Reality for surgical rehearsal.

Wei Li received the B.Eng. degree in automation and the M.Eng. degree in control science and engineering from the Harbin Institute of Technology, China, in 2009 and 2011, respectively, and the Ph.D. degree from the University of Sheffield, U.K., in 2016. After being a research associate at the University of York, UK, he is currently an assistant professor at the Academy for Engineering and Technology, Fudan University, China. He has published more than 30 academic articles in peer-reviewed journals and conferences, such as the IEEE Transactions on Robotics and NeurIPS. His research interests include robotics and computational intelligence, and especially self-organized systems, and evolutionary machine learning.
