Mo-Yuen Chow earned his degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Wisconsin-Madison (B.S., 1982); and Cornell University (M. Eng., 1983; Ph.D., 1987). Dr. Chow is a Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at North Carolina State University. Dr. Chow was a Changjiang Scholar at Zhejiang University. Dr. Chow’s recent research focuses on distributed control and management, smart micro-grids, batteries, and mechatronics systems. Dr. Chow has established the Advanced Diagnosis, Automation, and Control Laboratory. He is an IEEE Fellow, the Co-Editor-in-Chief of IEEE Trans. on Industrial Informatics 2014-2018, Editor-in-Chief of IEEE Transactions on Industrial Electronics 2010-2012. He has received the IEEE Region-3 Joseph M. Biedenbach Outstanding Engineering Educator Award, the IEEE ENCS Outstanding Engineering Educator Award, the IEEE ENCS Service Award, the IEEE Industrial Electronics Society Anthony J Hornfeck Service Award, and the IEEE Industrial Electronics Society Dr.-Ing. Eugene Mittelmann Achievement Award. He is a Distinguished Lecturer of IEEE Industrial Electronics Society.

Adnan Ibrahimbegovic is Professor Classe Exceptionnelle, Member Senior IUF-Institut Universitaire France and Chair for Computational Mechanics at University of Technology Compiègne, a member of Alliance of Sorbonne Université (created with merger of Paris- Sorbonne and Université Pierre Marie Curie). He has obtained his engineering education in Sarajevo, PhD at the University of California Berkeley, USA and Habilitation at University Pierre Marie Curie in Paris, France. Omar M. Ramahi received the B.S. degree in mathematics and electrical and computer engineering (Highest Honors) from Oregon State University, Corvallis, OR, USA, and the Ph.D. degree in electrical and computer engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, Champaign, IL, USA. From 1993 to 2000, he was with Digital Equipment Corporation (currently, HP), where he was a Member of Alpha Server Product Development Group. In 2000, he joined the Faculty of the James Clark School of Engineering, University of Maryland, College Park, MD, USA, as an Assistant Professor and then as a tenured Associate Professor. He was also a Faculty Member of the CALCE Electronic Products and Systems Center, University of Maryland and the director of the Electromagnetic Interference and Compatibility Laboratory. He is currently a Professor with the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department, University of Waterloo,Waterloo, ON, Canada. He is also the director of the Advanced Concepts Laboratory. He has authored and coauthored more than 450 journal and conference technical papers on topics related to the electromagnetic phenomena and computational methods.He is a co-author of the book EMI/EMC Computational Modeling Handbook. He served as Associate Editor for the IEEE Transactions on Advanced Packaging and Guest Editor of Sensors.He is the winner of the 2004 University of Maryland Pi Tau Sigma Purple Cam Shaft Award. He won the Excellent Paper Award in the 2004 International Symposium on Electromagnetic Compatibility, Sendai, Japan, and the 2010 University ofWaterloo Award for Excellence in Graduate Supervision. In 2012, he was awarded the IEEE Electromagnetic Compatibility Society Technical Achievement Award. Professor Ramahi is a co-founder of Applied Electromagnetic Technologies, USA, and Wave Intelligence Inc., Canada.

Dr Chua Kian Jon is currently an Associate Professor with the Department of Mechanical Engineering, National University of Singapore. He has been conducting research on air-conditioning, refrigeration, and heat recovery systems since 1997. He has conducted both modelling and experimental works for specific thermal energy systems. These include dehumidification, cooling, heat pumping, compact heat exchangers and refined temperature/humidity control. He is highly skilled in designing; fabricating; commissioning and testing many sustainable energy systems to provide for heating, cooling and humidity control for both small and large scale applications. He has more than 200 international peer-reviewed journal publications, 6 book chapters and two recent monographs on advances in air conditioning (https://www.springer.com/gp/book/9789811584763 and https://www.springer.com/gp/book/9783030808426). He was highlighted among the top 1% of scientists in the world by the Universal Scientific Education and Research Network and top 0.5% in the Stanford list of energy researchers. He is the Principal Investigator of several multi-million competitive research grants. Additionally, he has been awarded multiple local, regional, and international awards for his breakthrough research endeavours.

He was for 25 years Professor and Director of Research Centre for Energy Conversion, University of Moncton. He is the Founder of TransPacific Energy Inc and a Professor at UCACUE. Dr. Sami also regularly lectures in his area of expertise. He received his Ph.D. from the University of Montreal, Canada, and JD from Novus Law School, US. He authored and co-authored over 210 published papers on Energy Conversion, Renewable Energy, Thermal storage, Refrigerant Mixtures, and their use in waste heat recovery and power production. Dr. Sami works in the area of hybrid renewable energy: PV solar, PV-thermal solar, geothermal energy, Fuel Cell/thermal energy storage, biomass, wind turbines, and MHD as well as the use of nanofluids in solar collectors. Dr. Sami holds 14 patents in the area of refrigerants and refrigerant mixtures, thermodynamics, energy management and conversion, heat recovery, and green energy as well as renewable energy. Also, he is the director of the Research Center for Renewable Energy at UCACUE. He also offered online courses in renewable energy at SDSU and AAU. Dr. Sami is a fellow of ASME and ASHRAE. He is also the Editor-in-chief of IESJ and associate-editor and guest-editor of several highly indexed journals.Also earned a Dispute Resolution Certificate from Pepperdine University, School of Law, CA, USA and acts as a mediator and expert witness in energy management and renewable energy disputes.

Tarlochan S. Sidhu received Ph.D degree from the University of Saskatchewan, Canada. He worked for the Regional Computer Center, Chandigarh, India, Punjab State Electricity Board, India, and Bell-Northern Research Ltd., Canada. From July 1990 to June 2002, he was with the Department of Electrical Engineering, University of Saskatchewan, where he served as Professor and Graduate Chairman of the Department. From July 2002 to Dec 2011, he was Professor and Chair of the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department at the University of Western Ontario, Canada. He also held the NSERC/Hydro One Networks Senior Industrial Research Chair in Power Systems Engineering. From Jan. 2012 to Feb 2020, he was the Dean of Faculty of Engineering and Applied Science at the Ontario Tech University where he is currently a Professor. He has regularly contributes to the activities of IEEE Power Systems Relaying Committee in various capacities and he was awarded the 2001 Distinguished Service Award of this Committee. He has published more than 300 papers in various journals and conferences, and some of these papers have won major awards. He is regularly invited to give lectures/tutorials around the world

Dr. Ned Mohan (LF-IEEE) joined the University of Minnesota in 1975, where he is Oscar A. Schott Professor of Power Electronic Systems and Morse-Alumni Distinguished Professor. He received his Bachelor’s degree from the Indian Institute of Technology-Kharagpur in 1967. His PhD in Electrical Engineering and Master’s in Nuclear Engineering are from UW-Madison. He has written 6 textbooks; all together, they have been translated into nine languages. He has graduated 47 PhDs. His area of research is in power electronics applied to power systems and he holds several patents. Ned Mohan received the H.T. Morse Distinguished Teaching Award for undergraduate education from the University of Minnesota in 2007. He has received 2008 IEEE-PES Outstanding Educator Award, 2010 IEEE Undergraduate Teaching Award, 2010 UWIG Achievement Award from Utility Wind Integration Group, 2011 Distinguished Alumnus Award from IIT-Kharagpur (India), and 2012 IEEE Power & Energy Society Ramakumar Family Renewable Energy Excellence Award. In 2013, he received the Innovative Program Award from the ECE Department Heads Association made up of over 250 U.S. universities. In 2014, he received the Distinguished Graduate Teaching Award from the University of Minnesota and the IEEE Nari Hingorani FACTS Award from the IEEE Power & Energy Society. He is a Fellow of the IEEE, a Regents Professor and a member of the National Academy of Engineering.

Celso C. Ribeiro is a Member of the Brazilian Academy of Sciences and of the National Order of the Scientific Merit in Brazil. He is a Full Professor at the Department of Computer Science of Universidade Federal Fluminense, Brazil. He chaired the Departments of Electrical Engineering (1983-1987) and Computer Science (1993-1995) of the Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. He was the Director of the Department of Modernization Programs of the Brazilian Ministry of Education (2005-2007) and acted as Subsecretary of Education of the State of Rio de Janeiro (2007–2008). He obtained his doctorate in Computer Science at Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Télécommunications, France, in 1983 and his Habilitation at Université Paris XIII, France, in 1990. He was a President of the Brazilian Operations Research Society (1989-1990), a President of the Latin-American Association of Operations Research Societies (1992-1994), and a Vice-President of the International Federation of Operational Research Societies (1998-2000). His research is funded by the Brazilian Council of Scientific and Technological Development (CNPq) and by the Rio de Janeiro State Foundation for Research Support (FAPERJ). He is the editor of six books and the author of more than 140 papers in international journals and 25 book chapters. He has supervised 29 doctorate dissertations and 37 master theses. Dr. Ribeiro is the General Editor of the journal International Transactions in Operational Research. He is also the coauthor of the book “Optimization by GRASP: Greedy Randomized Adaptive Search Procedures”, published by Springer in 2016.

Marc A. Rosen, Ph.D., is a Professor at University of Ontario Institute of Technology in Oshawa, Canada, where he served as founding Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Applied Science. Dr. Rosen has served as President of the Engineering Institute of Canada and of the Canadian Society for Mechanical Engineering. He has acted in many professional capacities, including Editor-in-Chief of various journals and a Director of Oshawa Power and Utilities Corporation. With over 70 research grants and contracts and 900 technical publications, Dr. Rosen is an active teacher and researcher in sustainable energy, sustainability, and environmental impact. Much of his research has been carried out for industry. Dr. Rosen has worked for such organizations as Imatra Power Company in Finland, Argonne National Laboratory near Chicago, and the Institute for Hydrogen Systems near Toronto, and Ryerson University in Toronto, where he served as Chair the Department of Mechanical, Aerospace and Industrial Engineering. Dr. Rosen has received numerous awards and honours, and is a Fellow of numerous societies.

Prof Vladimir Terzija has a broad range of experiences in the field of electrical power and energy systems. He has been working in academia since 1990 and by now he has published more than 500 papers. He has contributed to several book chapters and led a number of industry and government funded national and international projects. Prof Terzija was born in DonjiBaraci, in former Yugoslavia. He received the Dipl-Ing., M.Sc., and Ph.D. degrees in electrical engineering from the University of Belgrade, Belgrade, Serbia, in 1988, 1993, and 1997, respectively. He is a Full Professor at Skoltech, Moscow, Russian Federation. He is also a Distinguished Professor at the Shandong University, Jinan, China, where he has been since 2013. From 1997 to 1999, he was an Assistant Professor at the University of Belgrade, Belgrade, Serbia. From 2000 to 2006, he was a senior specialist for switchgear and distribution automation with ABB, Ratingen, Germany. From 2006 to 2020 he was the EPSRC Chair Professor in Power System Engineering with the School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, The University of Manchester, Manchester, U.K. His current research interests include smart grid applications; wide-area monitoring, protection, and control; multi-energy systems; switchgear and transient processes; ICT, data analytics and digital signal processing applications in power systems. Prof. Terzija is Editor in Chief of the International Journal of Electrical Power and Energy Systems (ELSEVIER). He is Alexander von Humboldt Fellow, Fellow of IEEE, as well as a DAAD and Taishan Scholar. He is the recipient of the National Friendship Award, China (2019). Since 2018, he is the National Thousand Talents at the Shandong University, China. In December 2020 he was awarded with the prestigious Megagrant project supported by The Ministry of Education and Science of Russian Federation. He is the Director of the distinguished hardware in the loop laboratory at Skoltech, Moscow, Russian Federation.

Zhong-Ping JIANG received the M.Sc. degree in statistics from the University of Paris XI, France, in 1989, and the Ph.D. degree in automatic control and mathematics from the Ecole des Mines de Paris (now, called ParisTech-Mines), France, in 1993, under the direction of Prof. Laurent Praly. Currently, he is a Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the Tandon School of Engineering, New York University. His main research interests include stability theory, robust/adaptive/distributed nonlinear control, robust adaptive dynamic programming, reinforcement learning and their applications to information, mechanical and biological systems. In these fields, he has written six books and is author/co-author of over 500 peer-reviewed journal and conference papers. Dr. Jiang has served as Deputy Editor-in-Chief, Senior Editor and Associate Editor for numerous journals. Prof. Jiang is a Fellow of the IEEE, a Fellow of the IFAC, a Fellow of the CAA and is among the Clarivate Analytics Highly Cited Researchers.

Pierluigi Siano (M’09–SM'14) received the M.Sc. degree in electronic engineering and the Ph.D. degree in information and electrical engineering from the University of Salerno, Salerno, Italy, in 2001 and 2006, respectively. He is a Professor and Scientific Director of the Smart Grids and Smart Cities Laboratory with the Department of Management & Innovation Systems, University of Salerno. His research activities are centered on demand response, on energy management, on the integration of distributed energy resources in smart grids, on electricity markets and on planning and management of power systems. In these research fields he has co-authored more than 550 articles including more than 300 international journal papers that received in Scopus more than 10100 citations with an H-index equal to 49. Dr. Thorsten Hickmann has completed his Ph.D at the age of 29 years from Friedrich-Alexander-University Erlangen Nuernberg. He is the director of the Eisenhuth GmbH and Co. KG, a private company. Eisenhuth has several business lines: Components for Fuel Cells and Electrolyzers, plastic and rubber part production, Mould making business. Hickmann has published more than 15 papers in reputed journals. The Eisenhuth Company has also gained more than 10 innovation prizes, one outstanding prize is the “German Sustainability Award” 2018 in the Sector of Resarch. Dr. Subrata Roy is an international leader in the area of multi-scale numerical modeling and design of surface plasma technology. He is the President of SurfPlasma, the founding director of the Applied Physics Research Group (APRG), and a professor of Mechanical & Aerospace Engineering at the University of Florida. Sanjay Ranka is a Distinguished Professor in the Department of Computer Information Science and Engineering at University of Florida. From 1999-2002, as the Chief Technology Officer at Paramark (Sunnyvale, CA), he developed a real-time optimization service called PILOT for marketing campaigns. PILOT served more than 10 million optimized decisions a day in 2002 with a 99.99% uptime. Paramark was recognized by VentureWire/Technologic Partners as a Top 100 Internet technology company in 2001 and 2002 and was acquired in 2002. Sanjay has also held positions as a tenured faculty member at Syracuse University, academic visitor at IBM and summer researcher at Hitachi America Limited. Prof. Bin CHEN has completed his PhD from Xi’an Jiaotong University, China and postdoctoral studies from National Maritime Research Institute, Japan. He is the vice director of the State Key Laboratory of Multiphase Flow in Power Engineering. He has published more than 80 papers in refereed journals and has been serving as editorial board member of some repute journals.

Prof. Antonio Messineo was appointed Full Professor in Applied Physics at the University of Enna “Kore” in may 2015. He was previously Assistant Professor and later Associate Professor at the University of Enna since 2010. He is author of more than 130 scientific papers with more than 70 papers on international journals. A/Professor Farhad Shahnia received his PhD in Electrical Engineering from Queensland University of Technology (QUT), Brisbane, in 2012. He is currently anA/Professor at Murdoch University. Before that, he was a Lecturer at Curtin University (2012-15), a research scholar at QUT (2008-11), and an R&D engineer at the Eastern Azarbayjan Electric Power Distribution Company, Iran (2005-08). He is currently a Fellow member of Engineers Australia,Senior Member of IEEE, and member of the Australasian Association for Engineering Education. Farhad’s research falls under Distribution networks, Microgrid and Smart grid concepts. Farhad has won 5 Best Paper Awards in various conferences and has also received the IET Premium Award for the Best Paper published in the IET Generation, Transmission & Distribution journal in 2015. Yury Dvorkin is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at New York University’s Tandon School of Engineering and Center for Urban Science and Progress. His research work is supported by the U.S. National Science Foundation, including the 2019 NSF CAREER Award, US Department of Energy, Advanced Research Projects Agency–Energy (ARPA-e), Electric Power Research Institute, New York State Energy Research and Development Authority, and Alfred P. Sloan Foundation. Before joining NYU, he was a Ph.D. student at the University of Washington (class of 2016) , under the supervision of Prof. Daniel S. Kirschen, and a graduate student researcher at the Center for Nonlinear Studies, Los Alamos National Laboratory, under the supervision of Dr. Michael Chertkov and Dr. Scott Backhaus. For his dissertation work, entitled “Operations and Planning in Sustainable Power Systems“, Yury was awarded the inaugural 2016 Scientific Achievement Award by Clean Energy Institute (University of Washington).

Zafar Said is currently working as an Assistant Professor with the Department of Sustainable Renewable Energy Engineering, University of Sharjah (Since 09/2016). He also serves as the coordinator of the Functional nanomaterials’ synthesis lab. Dr. Zafar completed his Ph.D. from the University of Malaya, Malaysia. He has graduated with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering (Hons.), University Tenaga Nasional, Malaysia. He worked as a postdoctoral researcher in the iSmart group in the Department of Engineering Systems and Management, Masdar Institute, U.A.E. He also worked with industrial collaborative projects which were confidential with Masdar Institute. He has published over 110 papers, including one in Progress in Energy and Combustion (IF: 29.34), One in Physics Reports (IF: 25.6), 4 in Renewable and Sustainable Energy Reviews (IF: 14.98), 2 books/book chapters, 18 conference papers), with about 3860 citations and an H-index of 35. He is also ranked in World's Top 2% Scientists 2020 (by Stanford University) in the field of Energy. He secured more than 2 million AED in research grants. He was honored with several prestigious awards, including Sharjah Islamic Bank Award for Distinguished Researchers (2017-2018), Faculty Annual Incentive Research Award for 2018-2019. Dr. Zafar is also serving as the Editorial Board Member for several ISI Journals, and he is also severing a guest editor for several special issues. Prof. Wu received his B. S. degree and Ph. D. degree in Energy information and Automation in Southeast University, Nanjing, China, in 2008 and 2014. He joined Southeast University in 2014 as assistant professor in School of Energy and Environment, was promoted to associate professor in 2019. Since 2019, he has been a visiting professor in Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering in the University of Sheffield, UK. Prof. Wu has been investigators in over 20 research grants with funding from European Union, Royal Society, NSFC, MOST and Industry. He has published over 100 peer-reviewed papers including Applied Energy, Energy, Fuel, IEEE Trans. Energy Conversion. He has been awarded Jiangsu Outstanding Youth Foundation, Excellent young scholar of Jiangsu Engineering Thermophysics Society, Royal Society-Sino-British Trust International Fellow, Young Science and Technology Talents of Jiangsu Province in the last three years. His main research area is in Process Systems Engineering for Energy and Environment, including Process Modelling, Simulation, Control and Optimization, Big Data and Artificial Intelligence (AI), Power Plants，Carbon Capture, Utilization and Storage (CCUS) and Integrated Energy System (IES).

Lixiao Zhang is currently a professor at School of Environment, Beijing Normal University, China. Dr. Zhang obtained his Master degree and Ph.D. degree in environmental sciences from Peking University. Prior to joining BNU in 2005, he was a research fellow in BOKU university of Austria. Dr. Zhang has been involved in research on various aspects of environmental accounting and modeling, with special focus on renewable energy systems，food-energy-water nexus and urban metabolism since 2007.Over this time he has conducted research on life cycle assessment (LCA), Environmental Input-Output Analysis (EIOA) and Ecological Modeling techniques. Dr. Zhang is also recognized for his productive and highest cited scholarly output in environmental accounting and management. He has authored over 150peer-reviewed papers and5 books. His works are widely recognized and have more than 2500 citations with H-index of 28 according to Web of Science. Dr. Zhang has served as the deputy dean of School of Environment, the General secretary of Environmental Geoscience Branch of Chinese Society for Environmental Sciences. He is also the Co-EiC of Journal of Environmental Management (IF 5.6 ).He has also served as principal investigator for more than 20 large-scale research projects.

Nadhir Al-Ansari obtained his BSc and MSC degrees from the University of Baghdad in 1968 and 1972 respectively. He obtained his PhD degree from Dundee University in Water Resources Engineering in 1976. Now I am a Professor at the department of Civil, Environmental and Natural Resources Engineering at Lulea Technical University Sweden. Previously worked at Baghdad University 1976-1995 then at Al-Bayt University in Jordan (1995- 2007). Research interests are mainly in Geology, Water Resources and Environment. Served several academic administrative post (Dean, Head of Department). Publications include more than 675 articles in international/national journals, chapters in books and 21 books. I executed more than 60 major research projects in Iraq, Jordan, Sweden and UK. Awarded several scientific and educational awards, among them is the British Council on its 70th Anniversary awarded him top 5 scientists in Cultural Relations. One patent on Physical methods for the separation of iron oxides. Supervised more than 66 postgraduate students at universities in Iraq, Jordan, UK, Sweden and Australia. Member of several scientific societies e.g. International Association of Hydrological Sciences, Chartered Institution of Water and Environment Management, Network of Iraqi Scientists Abroad, etc. Member of the editorial board of ten international journals.

Since 2016 I am a research associate and a PhD candidate at the Steel Institute at RWTH Aachen University, Germany. I received my master´s degree in material science from the Czech Technical University in Prague, Czech Republic in 2016. Currently, I am working on the development of fully ferritic, Laves phase strengthened steels for high temperature applicationsand in the field of galvanizing process, especially in regards to skimming and dross separation methods. This year I submitted my PhD thesis on the topic Thermomechanically Induced Precipitation of Intermetallic Laves Phase in Ferritic Stainless Steels with the focus on the optimisation of the chemical composition as well as on the development of an innovative thermomechanical manufacturing process.

Jean-François Toubeau received the degree in civil electrical engineering, and the Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering, from the University of Mons (Belgium) in 2013 and 2018, respectively. He is currently a post-doctoral researcher of the Belgian Fund for Research within the "Power Systems and Markets Research Group" of the same University. He was a visiting researcher at KU Leuven from September 2019 to February 2020, and at Technical University of Denmark (DTU) in March 2020. Dr. Toubeau has been awarded with the Triennal Prize ‘Guibal&Devillez’ (2020) for best PhD thesis at the Faculty of Engineering of Mons, as well as with the Annual Prize ‘Chaire Ores’ (2013) for best Master Thesis in power systems at the Faculty of Engineering of Mons. He has published more than 15 publications in International Journals with peer reviewing, including prestigious collaboration with Oxford University (England), ETH Zurich (Switzerland) and Tsinghua University (China). He is an invited speaker at top conferences in the field of power systems and operations research (INFORMS Annual Meeting 2020). He is currently co-supervising 3 PhD students, while teaching for the course ‘Strategic energy and transport management’ in the framework of the Erasmus Mundus Joint Master Degree, http://www.smaccs.eu/.

Marius Paraschivoiu graduated with a B. Eng and MASC. in mechanical engineering from École Polytechnique de Montréal in 1991 and 1993, respectively. He received a PhD in mechanical engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), USA in 1998. Marius Paraschivoiu has joined Concordia University as an Associate Professor in the department of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering in 2003. He was formally an Assistant Professor at the University of Toronto. He was promoted to the rank of professor at Concordia University in 2010. Between 2018 and 2020 he served as Associate Dean, Academic Affairs in the Gina Cody School of engineering and computer science. He is currently Vice-Provost, Planning and Student Experience. Marius’ research is focused on developing algorithm for more accurate simulations in the area of Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) and analysis of wind energy. He has published over 60 journal articles in the field of Computational Fluid Dynamics. Between June 2006 and June 2016, he held a Concordia University Research Chair Tier II entitled “Simulations for Clean Energy Production and Storage”. From 2008 to 2010 Dr. Paraschivoiu was the President of the Canadian Society for Mechanical Engineering and from 2008 to 2011 he was the Director of Concordia Institute of Aerospace Design and Innovation (CIADI). In 2017 he became Fellow of the Engineering Institute of Canada. Since July 2017, he is the Editor-in-Chief of the Transactions of the Canadian Society for Mechanical Engineering published by Canadian Science Publishing.

Ralph M. Kennel was born in 1955 at Kaiserslautern (Germany). In 1979 he got his diploma degree and in 1984 his Dr.-Ing. (Ph.D.) degree from the University of Kaiserslautern. From 1983 to 1999 he worked on several positions with Robert BOSCH GmbH (Germany). Until 1997 he was responsible for the development of servo drives. Dr. Kennel was one of the main supporters of VECON and SERCOS interface, two multi-company development projects for a microcontroller and a digital interface especially dedicated to servo drives. Furthermore he took actively part in the definition and release of new standards with respect to CE marking for servo drives. Between 1997 and 1999 Dr. Kennel was responsible for "Advanced and Product Development of Fractional Horsepower Motors" in automotive applications. His main activity was preparing the introduction of brushless drive concepts to the automotive market. From 1994 to 1999 Dr. Kennel was appointed Visiting Professor at the University of Newcastle-upon-Tyne (England, UK). From 1999 - 2008 he was Professor for Electrical Machines and Drives at Wuppertal University (Germany). Since 2008 he is Professor for Electrical Drive systems and Power Electronics at Technische Universitaet Muenchen (Germany). His main interests today are: Sensor less control of AC drives predictive control of power electronics and Hardware-in-the-Loop systems. Dr. Kennel is a Senior Member of IEEE, a Fellow of IET (former IEE) and a Chartered Engineer in the UK. Within IEEE he is Treasurer of the Germany Section as well as Distinguished Lecturer of the Power Electronics Society (IEEE-PELS). Dr. Kennel has received in 2013 the Harry Owen Distinguished Service Award from IEEE-PELS, the EPE Association Distinguished Service Award in 2015 as well as the 2019 EPE Outstanding Achievement Award. In 2018 Dr. Kennel received the Doctoral degree honoris causa from Universitatea Stefan cel Mare in Suceava (Romania). Dr. Kennel was appointed “Extraordinary Professor” by the University of Stellenbosch (South Africa) from 2016 to 2019 and as “Visiting Professor” at the Haixi Institute by the Chinese Academy of Sciences from 2016 to 2021.

Gabriela Molinar developed during her PhD at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology machine learning models for the monitoring of high voltage overhead lines and for the estimation of their maximum transmission capacity in the next two days. The results of her doctoral thesis are implemented and currently being tested by a German TSO. Her motivation is to play a role helping implementing successfully the energy transition plan.

Dr. Lei-Yong Jiang obtained his Ph.D. degree from Institute for Aerospace Studies University of Toronto in 1995 has been in the combustion and propulsion S&T field over 30 years, with more than 130 publications and adjunct professorships from two Canadian universities. He is member of Combustion Fuels & Emissions Committee and the past Chair of Coal, Biomass, Hydrogen & Alternative Fuels Committee of International Gas Turbine Institute. His research interests include gas turbine combustion, CFD applications to solve various reacting and non-reacting flow problems, impact of environmental particles to gas turbine engines, laser diagnostics, and experimental combustion.

Dr Khayyat is an associate research professor of physics at KACST (Riyadh, KASA), Materials Science Research Institute (MSRI), Nanotechnology and Semicondctors Center (NSC) (2015-present). She first started her professional carrier at Umm Al Qura University (1996-2015), Makkah, where she contributed to the development of her institution via various academic and influential administrative positions. Dr Khayyat received her PhD from Cavendish laboratory, University of Cambridge (October 2001 - July 2004) on semiconductors. Dr Khayyat worked as a collaborative researcher at Cavendish lab (2005-2007) where she was introduced to the topic of “energy production” using the available technologies of photovoltaic cells at Microelecronics Research Center (MRC) and Nanoscience Center of University of Cambridge. She then worked within a joint project KACST/ IBM (2008-2010), undertaking research at T. J. Watson Research Center, NY, USA, on advanced solar cells where she started making original research and breakthrough results on advanced solar cells. After that, she spent her sabbatical year at MIT (2013), Nanoengineering group, funded by the Center of Clean Water and Energy of KFUPM. She worked closely with KAUST through KACSTKAUST- UCSB Solid-State Lighting Institute, where she undertaken some experiments at Poitiers University, France (2016). During 2017-2020 she joined KACST-Cambridge CAMM Excellence Center working on superconductors. Now, she has been acting as a project manager of Thermal Energy Storage (TES), at the National Energy Storage center of KACST implementing and launching of Energy Storage Laboratory located at KACST Solar Village. Currently, she is working closely at several projects at the Water and Energy Institute, such as water desalination and defloridation. Lastly and most importantly, she is very much involved in the Global Research Council (GRC), Gender Working Group (GWG) where the main goals of the GWG are the participation and promotion of women in the research workforce, and the integration of the gender dimension in research design and in the analysis of research outcomes. Dr. Khayyat is proceeding further with her accumulative technical expertise and increasing awareness of science at various levels for the benefit of science at her beloved country and the regional area, and extend it to anywhere else worldwide, as “good science anywhere is good everywhere”

Ali AHAITOUF, teacher and researcher in the University of Sidi Mohammed Ben Abdellah University of Fes. He obtained his PhD in electronics since 1998 and his University doctorate at 1992 (Metz France). Currently, he is director of the laboratory of intelligent systems, georesources and renewable energies. His research fields cover microelectronics and solar compounds, digital and analog design of the integrated circuits, Image and data compression and Concentrated Photovoltaic. He managed many research multilateral projects, related to analog design optimization, electronics component characterization and optimization as well as solar energy under concentration (CPV). He works in partnership with several international teams, including the Mixed International Unit Georgia-Tech-CNRS, where he spent a full-time year and where he hold a chair of excellence on the CPV. He wrote and co-wrote more than fifty papers in the universally referenced journals. He supervised a dozen of PhD thesis and many post-graduate students.

Afef Fekih is a Full Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering and the Chevron/BORSF Professor in Engineering at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. She earned the BS, MS and PhD degrees all in Electrical Engineering from the National Engineering School of Tunis, Tunisia in 1995, 1998 and 2002, respectively. Her research interests focus on control theory and applications, including nonlinear and robust control, optimal control, fault tolerant control with applications to power systems, wind turbines, unmanned vehicles and automotive engines. Dr. Fekih is a senior member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), a member of the IEEE control systems society, the IEEE Power and energy society, and the IEEE industrial technology society. She is the vice chair of the IEEE control system society women in control committee.

Luona Xu received the B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering and Automation from China Agricultural University, Beijing, China, in 2014, and M.S. degree in Electrical Engineering from University of Chinese Academy of Sciences, Beijing, China, in 2017. From 2017 to 2019, she was an electrical engineer in East China Electric Power Design Institute Co., Ltd., Shanghai, China. She is currently working toward the Ph.D. degree at AAU Energy, Aalborg University, Denmark. Her research interests include coordinated control for shipboard micro girds and pulsed load power supply in maritime application.

Dr. Lubov Petrichenko (F) is Senior Researcher and Associate Professor at the Institute of Power Engineering of Riga Technical University. She works in the fields of power system modelling, design and optimisation. She teaches a course on the design of electric power systems and has participated in several research projects, such as the H2020 project RealValue, EnergoPlanT (Optimum planning of an energy-intensive manufacturing process and optimization of its energy consumption depending on changes in the market price) and research contracts carried out for the EC Joint Research Centre and the Ministry of Economics of Latvia, as well as a post-doctoral research support project (subject: Methods and Devices for Designing Electrical Networks, Considering Smart Technologies and Market Conditions). She has participated at above 15 international scientific conferences and has about 50 publications. Her H-index is 6.

Dr. Fausto Abraham Jacques-García is a full-time professor at Informatics School, Queretaro State University. Dr. Jacques-García is a researcher of Numerical Methods to Cryptology with Time-Complexity Algorithmic Analysis and Educational Technology. He has attended international conferences in United States of America (USA), Mexico and Cuba. He has published his works in international proceedings, book chapters and international indexed magazines. Dr. Jacques-García is the author of Gauss-Jacques and Montante-Jacques numerical methods. These methods are very useful in Computer Science topics, such as Symmetric Cryptography and Applied Mathematics to Computers.

Shen Li has completed his Ph.D at the age of 28 from Tsinghua University, China and is now conducting postdoctoral studies from Imperial College London, UK. His research covers energy storage, mechanics and thermal analysis. He has published papers in reputed journals such as Journal of Power sources and Physical Review Letters. He acted as reviewer for peer-reviewed journal. He has been technical consultant at Imperial Consultants Ltd.

Emile Atallah has a Bachelor and a Master Degrees in Chemical Engineering from the American University of Beirut (Lebanon). He worked as a research assistant in TU Clausthal in Clausthal-Zellerfeld (Germany) in the domain of water electrolysis. He was also a visiting researcher in the University of Limerick in Ireland, conducting several researches in Hydrothermal Carbonization, Catalysis, and Pyrolysis. He taught several process and reaction engineering courses in the American University of Beirut and in the University of Grenoble Alpes (France). He is currently finalizing his PhD in CEA Grenoble in France, studying the ash behavior of biomass and their mixtures in combustion processes to limit the operational problems related to it.

Kamyar Mehran (M’09, SM’20) is a Senior Lecturer (Associate Professor) in Electrical Power Engineering and the director of the Real-Time Power and Control System (RPCS) Laboratory at the school of EECS in Queen Mary University in London. He received his PhD degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering and MSc degree in Control and Automation from Newcastle University, UK, in 2010 and 2004 respectively. From 2013 to 2015, he was a research fellow in the University of Warwick, UK and from 2010-2013 he was a research associate in the Newcastle University where he also acted as a commercialisation manager for a university spin-off developing disruptive GaN technology for optoelectronics. Before his academic career, he worked for eight years in industry in a variety of software-related roles. Since 2015, his research has been focused on the theory and application of advanced control and optimisation methods for (vehicular, grid) energy storage, SiC-based power electronics and dc/ac microgrids with over 50 peer-reviewed publications, and several book chapters. He has been the PI of CI of several projects totalling £1.27M of external funding supported by Innovate UK, Royal Society, Newton fund, and industry. He is a reviewer for the EPSRCand several high-impact IEEE Transactions journals. He has been an invited speaker in several conferences and companies.

Since 2007 Anna Pinnarelli is Assistant Professor at the DIMEG of University of Calabria, Italy. Research activity has been mainly focused on: analysis, modeling and simulation in Matlab-Simulink and Ansys Simplorer environments of integrated hybrid systems (from converters to conventional and non-conventional storage technologies); definition and implementation of management models for aggregate systems within the electricity market; development and implementation of enabling technologies for Smart Grids: Smart Meters, electronic power converters for interfacing with the IAFR network, storage systems or IAFRs equipped with storage, designed to operate in aggregate form in order to govern the power flows in the networks and peer to peer power exchanges between them; micro-cogeneration systems based on the use of linear synchronous generators driven by Stirling free piston engines; nanoGrid for Home Application intended for the creation of hybrid power systems capable of integrated all-in-one photovoltaic generators, wind microgenerators, storage systems, special converters for V2H & H2V applications suitable for both off grid and grid Connected applications; implementation and application of models and algorithms for Demand Response in the Smart Grid environment; Implementation of control systems for nano Grid to be used for the creation of mini-Grids or micro-Grids with DC or AC distribution; implementation of Energy Management System (EMS) for the management and control (through the use of nano Grid) of the power flows in the distribution networks within the "energy communities" and the exchange of energy between Consumer, Prosumer, Consumage ( r), Prosumage (r) of the same “energy community” (aggregate systems). The research activity is associated with an intense experimentation activity in the laboratory and in the real-life application which has led to the creation of several laboratory prototypes of enabling technologies in the field of smart grids such as nano grids, smart meters and smart PV lighting systems and of a test-facility installed at the campus of University della Calabria. During the research activity there were several technical and scientific exchanges/collaborations with industries of the electrical engineering area, such as for example: SIEL, FAAM, EnelX. As an expert, (since 2013) she is a technical consultant on behalf of Italian Authority ARERA, for the evaluation of the system research projects – RdS. She collaborates with the University of Technology, Wrocaw, Poland and the University of Zaragoza- Zaragoza, Spain, as well as with the research institutes Enea and CNR. Since 2020, she is representative of UNICAL partner within H2020 BRIDGE - Cooperation group of Smart Grid, Energy Storage, Islands and Digitalization H2020 projects. She is acting as Work Package Leader in several National projects. She is the Scientific Coordinator for the Unical partner of the H2020 Project E balance plus. She also acts as Lead and guest editor for special issues associated with international scientific journals, and she has been plenary speaker in several scientific conferences, chair in international conferences and member of scientific committees. She is the author of many scientific papers published in international journals and proceedings of international conferences. She is a co-author of the National industrial patent BI2638M “DISPOSITIVO ELETTRONICO DI CONTROLLO DI UN MOTORE STIRLING DI TIPO FREE-PISTON CON ALTERNATORE LINEARE E RELATIVO METODO DI CONTROLLO”, n° 102016000065916. She is a member of the Scientific and Technical Council of the Consortium CRETA (Regional Consortium for Energy and Environmental Protection) as well as one of the founders of Spin-off Academic CRETA Energie Speciali Srl operating in the field of renewable energy sources. She is member of the Scientific and Technical Committee of Polo d’Innovazione Ambiente e Rischi Natural - NET, having as trajectories: techniques, products and devices for the analysis and assessment of hydrogeological risk and other environmental risks; devices, sensors and solutions for the earthquake protection of the territory; early warning systems and emergency management related to environmental risks; new energy technologies and reuse of scraps and waste to reduce the environmental impact. Since October 2017 she is appointed by the Regione Calabria, as technical expert and support the activity of the Head of the Procedure having the specific technical skills, as part of the implementation of the "Sistema di collegamento metropolitano tra Cosenza, Rende e Università della Calabria". She is carrying out teaching activities in the energy engineering degree courses and in several Masters in the field of smart grids and power electronic converters. She is director of the Master in Sustainable Mobility and Infrastructure Engineering (MIMI Calabria) of the University of Calabria.

Ming Dong received his Ph.d degree from Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, University of Alberta and the Certificate of Data Science and Big Data Analytics from Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He worked at two major utility companies and an Independent System Operator in Canada as a Senior Engineer and Senior Data Scientist for 8 years. In 2021, he joined Chongqing University in China as an associate professor. His research focus is the applications of AI and big data analytics to power system planning and operations. Currently, he is an editor of IEEE TRANSACTIONS ON POWER DELIVERY, IEEE POWER ENGINEERING LETTERS, IEEE OPEN ACCESS JOURNAL OF POWER AND ENERGY and CSEE JOURNAL OF POWER AND ENERGY SYSTEMS.

Prof. Dr. Ir. François Vallee received the degree in civil electrical engineering and the Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering from the Faculty of Engineering, University of Mons, Mons, Belgium, in 2003 and 2009, respectively. He is currently an Associate Professor with the Power Systems & Markets research group of the same faculty. His Ph.D. work has been awarded by the SRBE/KBVE Robert Sinave Award in 2010. His research interests include PV and wind generation modelling for power system reliability studies in presence of dispersed generation. He is currently a member of the governing board from the ‘Société Royale Belge des Electricians - SRBE/KBVE’ (2017) and is Associate Editor of International Transactions on Electrical Energy Systems (Wiley). Professor Vallée has published over 150 scientific publications of which over 45 in scientific journals. He has published several book chapters. François Vallee manages a team of 15 researchers, including 4 postdoctoral researchers, and coordinates the power systems activities within UMONS.

Mohammad Syuhaimi Ab-Rahman began his career at Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM), in mid-2007 as a lecturer and appointed as a senior lecturer in early 2008. In January 2010, he was appointed as Associate Professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering, Electronics and Systems. His specialization is in the field of electronic engineering specifically in optical communication system. He has been involved in many impact researches, academic writing, teaching, supervision, leadership positions, registered prototype and innovation, policy development and community services. He was promoted to full Professor at the age of 33 years old; which is very young and rare in Malaysia. This has demonstrated his outstanding personality and contribution to the field of science and technology. He was Deputy Dean Academic in Faculty of Engineering and Built Environment before been promoted to Director of Alumni Relation Center, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia. He is also professional engineer registered under Board of Egineering Malaysia. He has also been selected as on of the Malaysia’s Top Research Scientists 2021. To date, he has produced more than 13 PhD graduates, 16 Master of Science students, 297 journal articles, 196 proceeding, 30 books, 12 chapter in book. 24 awards/medals for science and technology exhibitions, 6 granted research patents, lead more than 10 impact research with cumulative MYR 11 million, head more than 5 impact community, held more than 10 administration positions, and involved in more than 5 important committees (e.g., Program Accreditation Evaluation Panel for Washington Accord EAC & ETAC, Malaysia Academic of Science). He was giving the keynote speech in several reputable conferences such as 2020 5th International Seminar on Computer Technology, Mechanical and Electrical Engineering (ISCME 2020), 2019 4th International Conference on Information Science, Computer Technology and Transportation (ISCTT 2019), 2020 World Conference of Applied Science, Engineering and Technology (2020 WCASET) and many more. During his tenure at UKM, he was appointed as the appraiser grants Industrial Grant Scheme (IGS) and was involved in giving advice to the Ministry of Health in the assessment of the use of Long-Range Acoustic Device (LRAD) before they are brought into Malaysia. He is also active in giving motivational talks to university students as well as speakers for Malaysia Ministry of Higher Education (MOHE) to guide the new lecturers/researchers in conducting research.

Dr. JEAN JIANG is an IEEE Senior Member. She received the B.S. and M.S. degrees in electrical engineering from Southeast University, Nanjing, China, respectively, and the Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering from The University of New Mexico, Albuquerque, NM, USA. Dr. Jiang is currently an Associate Professor with the College of Technology, Purdue University Northwest, Hammond, Indiana, USA. She has published two textbooks: Digital Signal Processing: Fundamentals and Applications (Elsevier, Third Edition, 2018) and Analog Signal Processing and Filter Design (Linus Publications, Second Edition, 2016). Her research interests include digital signal processing, adaptive signal processing, control systems, deep learning, neural networks, machine learning and robotics.

Dr Abdoulaye KEBE is a teacher-researcher at UCAD in Dakar. He holds a doctorate in physics from the University of Paris Sud in 2013. He holds a Certificate of Aptitude in Technical Vocational Secondary Education (CAESTP). His research is mainly oriented towards renewable energies. He is the author of several publications in the field of energy conversion In addition, he obtained a master's degree in Analysis, Design and Research in the Field of Engineering Technologies in Education (ACREDITE) at the University of CergyPontoise in 2016. Mousalreza Faramarzi Palangar received his Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering from Flinders University, Adelaide, SA, Australia, in 2021. From 2012 to 2017, he was a Research Assistant with the High Voltage Engineering Laboratory, Babol Noshirvani University of Technology. He is the author of one book (in Persian), more than ten articles, and three patents. He was funded an industry research grant from Golestan Province Electricity Distribution Company. He has more than 6 years teaching experience as lecture and tutor in electrical engineering for various courses such as engineering mathematics, electrical machine, high voltage engineering, etc. He is professional member of Engineers Australia since 2021. His research interests include high-voltage engineering and electric discharge of insulators, transmission and distribution system monitoring, fault diagnosis of insulators, electric machine design and optimization, thermal analysis of electrical machine, and numerical analysis.

Olamide Jogunola received the M.Sc. degree in networking and data communication from Kingston University, London, U.K., in 2015, and the Ph.D. degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from Manchester Metropolitan University, Manchester, U.K., in 2019.She is currently a Postdoctoral Research Associate with the Department of Engineering, Manchester Metropolitan University, working on the feasibility of implementing a Greater Manchester local energy market. Her research interests include smart grid, net-zero carbon,peer-to-peer energy trading, communication systems, the IoT, distributed algorithms, network optimisation, and artificial intelligence for energy market.,Dr. Jogunola was a recipient of the School of Engineering, Manchester Metropolitan University Ph.D. Studentship on an EPSRC U.K.-S.Korea-funded project: P2P-ETS system. She was previously involved in Energy-IQ, a U.K.-Canada power forward smart grid demonstrator project and Triangulum, a Horizon 2020 Smart Cities and Communities programme funded by the European Commission.

Behzad Moshiri received his B.Sc. degree in mechanical engineering from Iran University of Science and Technology (IUST) in 1984 and M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees in control systems engineering from the University of Manchester, Institute of Science and Technology (UMIST), U.K. in 1987 and 1991 respectively. He joined the school of electrical and computer engineering, university of Tehran in 1992 where he is currently professor of control systems engineering. He was visiting professor at universities of Toronto, Waterloo and Ryerson in 2009-2011. He has been as adjunct professor of department of ECE at university of Waterloo since May 2014 until now as well as department of EECS at York University, Canada since August 2018 until now. He also served as research and development consultant for Felix tech Company in Concorde, Ontario, Canada since January 2014 until now. He is now serving as the chairman of IEEE control system chapter in Iran section since March 2019. He has also been a research fellow member of Waterloo Institute for Sustainable Energy (WISE), Canada since April 2019. He is the author/co-author of more than 360+ articles including 120+ journal papers and 20+ book chapters. His fields of research include advanced industrial control, data fusion theory and feasibility studies on applications and implementations of sensor/data fusionin areas such as robotics, industrial process control, mechatronics, information technology (IT), bioinformatics, intelligent transportation systems (ITS) and financial engineering.

Patrizio Manganiello received the Master Degree, cum laude, in Electronic Engineering from the University of Salerno, Italy, in 2011 and the Ph.D. in Energy Conversion from the the University of Campania “Luigi Vanvitelli”, Italy, in 2014. During his PhD, he carried out his research activities at the University of Cergy-Pontoise (France), from February 2013 till May 2014, and at the National University of Colombia in Medellin (Colombia), in June 2014. From October 2013 till June 2014 he was Adjunct Professor at the University of Cergy-Pontoise, teaching Computer Systems for Smart Buildings. In 2015, he collaborated with the Department of Electronic Engineering and Computer Science of the University of Salerno. From February 2016 till January 2018, he was working with KU Leuven (Belgium) as Postdoctoral Researcher in Modeling and Demonstration of Smart Photovoltaic Modules, in collaboration with IMEC (Belgium). Since March 2018 until December 2019, he was a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Research Fellow working at IMEC on the project "Smart Reconfigurable photovoltaic modules for Building Integrated PhotoVoltaic applications". Since January 2020, he is Assistant Professor of Photovoltatronics at Delft University of Technology (The Netherlands). He is member of the IEEE and member of the International Committee of the ELECTRIMACS conference. Since March 2018, he is serving as Associate Editor of IEEE Journal of Photovoltaics. He is co-inventor of 4 international patents on simulation and control of photovoltaic systems and energy management. He is also co-inventor and owner of an Italian patent on automatic detection of lighting points. His main research interests are in the development of innovative PV-based intelligent energy agents, the analysis, design and control of switching converters for renewable energy source and the on-line diagnostics of the whole energy conversion system by means of linear and non-linear identification techniques.

Experienced in renewable energy projects management and in planning, construction and management of energy research centers. Enthusiastic about all modern energy systems. He is currently working as a visiting researcher at the Forschungszentrum Jülich, Germany, studying the thermo mechanical degradation of solid oxide fuel cells. He is a full time professor at the University of Guanajuato in the area of Mechanical Engineering. He has been executive director of the first renewable energy research center in Guanajuato, Mexico. He was also part of the state energy council of the same state. Dr. Rangel holds two certifications, one in Flexible power system specialist and the other in biomass energy.

Dr. Wayesh Qarony is currently working as a postdoctoral scholar at the Materials Sciences Division of Lawrence Berkeley National Lab and the Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences department of the University of California at Berkeley, CA, USA. He was a postdoctoral research scientist at the ECE dept. of University of California Davis, CA, USA. After studying MSC in Telecommunication Engineering at the University of Trento, Italy, and Electrical Engineering at Jacobs University Bremen, Germany with a scholarship and Hempel Fellowship, Dr. Qarony conducted his Ph.D. study with distinction in Applied Physics at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University with a prestigious Hong Kong Ph.D. Fellowship Scheme. He was also a Senior Lecturer in the Electrical and Electronic Engineering department at American International University-Bangladesh, Dhaka, Bangladesh. Dr. Qarony focuses on novel materials and device designs of photosensors with ultrafast and high sensitivity for emerging applications, highly efficient solar cells, and topological quantum devices and quantum light sources for applications of quantum computing. So far, he has published more than 40 high-quality SCI journal publications with over 725 citations and presented >30 times in renowned conferences.

Prof. Santiago Madruga received a Ph.D. in Physics from the Navarra University (Spain) in 2003. He has been working as a postdoctoral researcher at Northwestern University (US) and the Max Planck Institute for the Physics of Complex Systems (Germany). Since 2008, he is an Associate Professor at the Aerospace Engineering School of the Polytechnic University of Madrid (Spain). Research interests include natural convection, thermocapillary convection, thin liquid films, binary mixtures, and dynamical systems. Within the energy field, current research lines focus on the renewable energy landscape: modeling and simulations of phase change materials for thermal energy management and storage, thermoelectric generation, waste heat recovery, and enhanced heat transfer with nanofluids.

Tien Anh Tran has completed his Ph.D at the age of 31 years from Wuhan University of Technology, Wuhan City, P.R. China and an Assistant Professor at Vietnam Maritime University, Haiphong City, Vietnam. He has published more than 25 papers in reputed journals and proceedings of the international conferences and has been serving as an editorial board member of International Journal of Renewable Energy Technology (InderScience), Leading Guest Editor of Environment, Development, and Sustainability (Springer Nature, SCIE, IF= 3.219). He is an organization committee member for the international conferences in Australia, United Kingdom, South Korea, India, etc. Moreover, He is a speaker for the international conferences some recent years. Currently, He continues doing more research and research position at some universities in the world.

Mostafa El-Shafie obtained his BSc and MSC degrees from faculty of engineering, Menoufiya University, Egypt in 2003 and 2015, respectively. He obtained his PhD degree from Japan, Gifu University, Environmental and Renewable Energy Systems Division, in Hydrogen Production and Hydrogen Permeation in Different Reactor Types in 2021. Now I am a postdoctoral researcher at the Environmental and Renewable Energy Systems Division at Gifu University, Japan. Previously worked at Gifu University from2018-2021as a research assistant. Research interests are mainly in Hydrogen production, Renewable Energy, Catalysts, Hydrogen permeation, Plasma, Energy, Exergy, and Heat transfer. Publications include more than 22 articles in international journals. I executed more than 4 major cooperative research projects with companies in Japan. Awarded the Excellent academic performance award from Gifu University, Japan in March 2021.

Currently, he is a lecturer at Energy Technology Program, Faculty of Engineering, Prince of Songkla University, Thailand. Dr. Rana Mujahid completed his Ph.D. degree from Sungkyunkwan University (QS Global World Ranking #88). Due to the energy crisis and shortage of natural resources, Mr. Rana was assigned for the conversion of biomass (dewatered sewage sludge) to bio-oil by using a liquefaction process. Dr. Rana's work was appreciated and supported by the various government sectors/departments of the Republic of Korea. Moreover, Dr. Rana Mujahid has more than 10 years of experience in Research and completed/assisted various projects (lab and pilot scale) from design to product analysis and published his work in well-reputed journals at the National and International levels. Currently, He is working as Assistant Professor in Pakistan and has delivered several talks about energy issues at the International level.

Dr. Khalid Tantawi is an assistant professor of Mechatronics at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga (UTC). He served as the elected chair of the Engineering section of the Tennessee Academy of Science in 2016/2017, and was an academic auditor for the Tennessee Board of Regents for three years, a member of the Tennessee Textbook Advisory Panel, and the European Commission’s Erasmus Mundus Association. He also served as a trainer for Siemens Technik Akademy for certifying Siemens Mechatronic Systems Certifications (level 1). With more than 30 journal and conference publications in advanced manufacturing, and Micro-Electro-Mechanical Systems (MEMS), Dr. Tantawi was also an invited speaker at several conferences, and reviewed and judged many textbooks, scientific papers, and grant proposals. He founded the SkillsUSA and American Chemical Society chapters at Motlow College, and the Society of Manufacturing Engineers chapter at UTC.

Prof. Daniel Esteban Vilamil Sierra is a Electrical Engineer and Professor in the field of electricity at the Colombian National Service of Learning (SENA). He is a member of the Research Group on Electrical Systems and Energy Efficiency (GISE3) and the High Voltage and Lightning Research Hotbed at the Universidad Distrital Francisco José de Caldas in Bogotá. He is also an International Affiliate at the African Centres for Lightning and Electromagnetics (ACLENet), a pan-African Network of Centres dedicated to decreasing deaths, injuries, and property damage from lightning. He has been working on promoting lightning safety in Colombia since 2012 and in 2016 he was awarded the Young Scientist Award by the Scientific Committee of the 33rd International Conference on Lightning Protection (ICLP 2016) for his presentation about the role of lightning risk in the context of Disaster Risk Management (DRM)."

Alireza Ghasempour has been a faculty member in the Information and Communications Technology department at the University of Applied Science and Technology for more than 10 years. He has extensive experience in research, teaching, and executive positions. His areas of interest include smart grids, Internet of Things, machine learning, deep learning, optimization techniques, and wireless heterogeneous networks. He has published two book chapters, several papers in peer-reviewed journals, IEEE and international conferences.

Dr Hossein Ameli is a research associate at Imperial College London. He got his PhD degree from Electrical and Electronic Engineering department at Imperial College London. His research is mainly focused on interaction of gas/hydrogen and electricity systems from operation and planning perspectives. In this context, the modeling is carried out for e.g., GB energy system in 2030 and 2050, where a significant part of heat and transport sector should be electrified. Furthermore, cost-effective transition to lower-carbon energy system achieved by employment of flexibility options (i.e., demand side response, electricity storage, flexible gas plants, multi-directional compressors, and interconnections) in the integrated operation and planning of different energy vectors (mainly gas/hydrogen, heat and electricity) is investigated. He contributed in many scientific papers as well as research projects related to energy industry such as projects for Committee of Climate Change (CCC) and of gem.

Arthur Mouco received his B.S. degree in electrical engineering from Universidade Federal Fluminense, Brazil, in 2006; his M.S. degree in electrical engineering from Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, in 2011; and his Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering from Northeastern University, Boston – US, in 2019. He has been working for the Brazilian Independent System Operator for 10+ years, now focused on power systems technology research and development. He is an IEEE Senior Member and his areas of expertise include real-time operation, WAMS, state estimation, and fault location. He is also a reviewer for IEEE PES Transactions on Power Systems and the Electric Power Systems Research journal.

Dr. Pandey is currentlyworking as anAssociate Professor at Research Centre for Nano-Materials and Energy Technology (RCNMET), School of Engineering and Technology, Sunway University, Malaysia. He is leading the PhD in Sustainability Science and Technology program at Sunway University. Prior to this he worked at University of Malaya Power Energy Dedicated Advanced Centre (UMPEDAC), University of Malaya, Malaysia. He did his PhD in Energy from SMVD University, India. Dr. Pandey delivered more than 25 keynote/invited lectures in International conferences/Workshops and Seminars. His current area of research involves but not limited to Sustainable Energy Technologies, Phase Change Materials as Thermal Energy storage, Nano Dispersed Phase change materials (NDPCMs), Solar PV and PVT, Dye sensitized solar cells etc.

Ayodeji Olalekan Salau received his B.Eng. in Electrical/Computer Engineering from the Federal University of Technology, Minna, Nigeria. He received his MSc and PhD degree in Electronic and Electrical Engineering from the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Nigeria.His research interests include research in the fields of computer vision, image processing, signal processing, machine learning, power systems engineering, and nuclear engineering. Dr. Salau serves as a reviewer for many reputable international journals. His research has been published in many reputable international conferences, book chapters, and major international journals. Hudișteanu Valeriu Sebastian, Lecturer, PhD (2017) - has an experience of 10 years in Building Services field. The doctoral thesis entitled “Efficiency of the photovoltaic panels integrated in buildings with double skin facades” developed at “Gheorghe Asachi” Technical University of Iaşi, Romania in the field of Civil Engineering and Building Services, completed in 2016, represents “a reference work in terms of PV integration in buildings, identifying technologies to improve PV performance through cooling and numerical and experimental approaches on the evaluation of the functioning in different climatic conditions” (according to the doctoral committee report). The experience in the Energy field, is proven by the published papers and the research contracts coordinated or in which he participated as member. His main research areas concern the cooling of photovoltaic panels, heat transfer, fluid flow, solar radiation and numerical modeling. His studies involved both experimental and numerical simulations regarding energy efficiency and energy optimization of PV systems through dimensional and configuration changes. The researcher is coordinating 1 research project and was member of 3 research projects. During his research activity he was author or co-author of over 50 scientific papers (11 of these in ISI WoS journals and proceedings and 11 being indexed), 2 books published in national publishing houses, 3 patent applications, reviewer for over 10 ISI WoS Journals and 4 ISI WoS Conferences.
