Sir Ruggero M. Santilli obtained his Ph. D. in theoretical physics at the University of Torino, Italy in 1965; he then emigrated to the U.S.A. in 1967 where he was on the faculty of the University of Miami, Boston University, MIT, and Harvard University under financial support from NASA, UFOSR and DOE. In 1991 he accepted the position of President and Professor at the Institute for Basic Research in Florida. He is the author of 345 papers published in refereed journals and twenty post Ph. D. monographs in mathematics, physics, chemistry and biology; he is the Editor of a number of scientific journals in mathematics and physics and was awarded twelve U. S. patents. He is internationally known for developing new mathematics (known as Lie-admissible, Lie-isotopic and isodual mathematics) for the construction of hadronic mechanics, chemistry and biology, and for the verification of the 1935 Einstein-Podolsky-Rosen argument that "quantum mechanics is not a complete theory." These discoveries lead to the prediction of new technologies, incompatible with quantum mechanics but fully compatible with hadronic mechanics, which he developed as Chief Scientist at various U. S. publicly traded and private companies

Professor ZHANG Hua received his bachelor and master degrees at Nanjing University, China in 1992 and 1995, respectively, and completed his doctoral degree under Prof. LIU Zhongfan at Peking University, China in July 1998. After spending a few years as research associate/postdoctoral fellow in Katholieke Universiteit Leuven (KULeuven), Belgium with Prof. Frans C. De Schryver and Northwestern University, USA with Prof. Chad A. Mirkin, he started to work at NanoInk Inc. (USA) as a Research Scientist/Chemist in August 2003. Afterwards, he worked as a Senior Research Scientist at Institute of Bioengineering and Nanotechnology in Singapore in November 2005. Then he joined the School of Materials Science and Engineering in Nanyang Technological University (NTU) as an Assistant Professor in July 2006 and was promoted to Full Professor in September 2013.

Dr Qiao joined the School of Chemical Engineering of the University of Adelaide (UoA) in March 2012 as a professor (the inaugural Chair of Nanotechnology). His research expertise is in nanomaterials for new energy technologies (electrocatalysis, photocatalysis, batteries, fuel cell, supercapacitors). He has co-authored more than 415 papers in refereed journals, including Nature, Nature Energy, Nature Chemistry, Nature Materials, Nature Communications, Sicence Advance, Angew Chem Int Ed, J. Am. Chem. Soc, Advanced Materials (over 52,200 citations, h-index: 145). He has filed four patents on novel nanomaterials and attracted more than 12.8 million dollars in research grants from industrial partners and Australian Research Council (ARC).

Prof Chun-Sing Lee obtained his BSc and PhD degrees from the University of Hong Kong in 1987 and 1991 respectively. He then furthered his research career in the University of Birmingham of UK with the support from a Croucher Foundation Fellowship. He joined the faculty of the City University of Hong Kong in 1994 and is currently a Chair Professor of Materials Chemistry. He co-founded the Center Of Super-Diamond and Advanced Films (COSDAF) in 1998 and is now the Center’s Director. Prof Lee’s current research interests include organic electronics devices and nanomaterials for energy, environmental and biomedical applications.

Prof. Wang obtained his PhD in Chemical Engineering from University of Queensland, Australia. He is now a Professor at School of Chemical Engineering and Advanced Materials, the University of Adelaide, Australia. His research interests focus on nanomaterial synthesis and application for adsorption and catalysis, fuel and energy conversion and environmental remediation. He has published more than 400 refereed journal papers with citation over 47,600 and h-index of 123. He was awarded 2012 Thomson Reuters Citation & Innovation Awards in Australia. He is also the Highly Cited Researcher in the divisions of Chemical/Environmental Engineering for 5 years from 2016 to 2020. He is an editorial board member of several international journals.

Professor Yamauchi focuses on the design of novel nanocrystals and nanoporous materials toward various applications including batteries, fuel cells, solar cells, chemical sensors, field emitters, and photonic devices. Specifically, nanoporous metals can be produced through surfactant-based synthesis assisted by electrochemical methods. Owing to their metallic frameworks, nanoporous metals possess high electroconductivity and high surface areas, holding promise for a wide range of electrochemical applications. Furthermore, he has developed several approaches towards controlling the orientation of tubular nanochannels. The controlling the geometry of nanochannels at a macroscopic-scale is important for innovative applications such as chemical devices and electrodes with enhanced diffusions of guest species.

Dr. Panos Pardalos is a Distinguished Professor in the Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering at the University of Florida, and an affiliated faculty of Biomedical Engineering and Computer Science & Information & Engineering departments. In addition, he is the director of the Center for Applied Optimization. Dr. Pardalos is a world renowned leader in Global Optimization, Mathematical Modeling, Energy Systems, and Data Sciences. He is a Fellow of AAAS, AIMBE, and INFORMS and was awarded the 2013 Constantin Caratheodory Prize of the International Society of Global Optimization. In addition, Dr. Pardalos has been awarded the 2013 EURO Gold Medal prize bestowed by the Association for European Operational Research Societies. This medal is the preeminent European award given to Operations Research (OR) professionals for “scientific contributions that stand the test of time.” Dr. Pardalos has been awarded a prestigious Humboldt Research Award (2018-2019). The Humboldt Research Award is granted in recognition of a researcher’s entire achievements to date – fundamental discoveries, new theories, insights that have had significant impact on their discipline.

Dr. Arthur J. Nozik is a Senior Research Fellow Emeritus of NREL and Research Professor in the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at the University of Colorado, Boulder. Dr. Nozik received his BChE from Cornell University in 1959 and his PhD in Physical Chemistry from Yale University in 1967. Before joining NREL in 1978, then known as the Solar Energy Research Institute (SERI), he conducted research at the Allied Chemical Corporation and American Cyanamid Corporation. Dr. Nozik has established a leading position in the interdisciplinary fields of photoelectrochemistry, semiconductor-molecule interfaces, quantum size effects, electron relaxation dynamics in semiconductor quantum wells, quantum dots, quantum wires, and nanostructures, and applications of this science to improve solar photon conversion technologies.

Dr. Sun received his B.Eng. (1982) from the Zhejiang Institute of Technology and his M.S. (1985) from the Zhejiang University, both in Hangzhou, China. He earned his Ph.D. (1989) at the Florida State University with Prof. Jack Saltiel. He was a postdoctoral fellow with Prof. Josef Michl (1989-91) and Prof. Marye Anne Fox (1991-92) at the University of Texas at Austin. He joined Clemson faculty in 1992.

Dr. Abagyan’s research focuses on the development of novel technologies for structure based drug discovery and optimization, structural systems biology for target finding and protein modeling. The lab screens specific biomedical targets to discover new drug leads, and validate them experimentally. The applications include cancer, neuro-degeneration, parasitic viral and endocrine diseases. To extend the reach of docking we model alternative functional states and allosteric pockets of the kinases, GPCRs and Nuclear Receptors. We derived comprehensive sets of ligand pockets (the Pocketome) competing for ligands and metabolites in different organisms. These data are used for target identification and multi-target pharmacology profiling. We dock drugs, leads and environmental chemicals to the ‘anti-target’ models to predict endocrine disruption and other adverse effects. We also identify new promising uses of existing drugs on the basis of the multi-target pharmacology.

Dr. Anupama B. Kaul is the PACCAR Professor of Engineering at the University of North Texas (UNT) and serves as Director of the Nanoscale Materials and Devices Laboratory and the PACCAR Technology Institute. Her funded research as PI and/or Co-PI has originated through the support of agencies such as the ONR, AFOSR, ARO, NSF, NRO and NASA, as well as industry. Prior to UNT, Dr. Kaul was Associate Dean for Research and Graduate Studies in the College of Engineering and held the AT&T Distinguished Professorship in ECE at the University of Texas, El Paso. Dr. Kaul has served as a Program Director at NSF in the ECCS Division, where she was on rotation as an IPA from JPL, Caltech. She serves on the External Advisory Board of Penn State University’s Two-dimensional (2D) Crystal Consortium (2DCC) – MIP. She was also Chair and PI of the NSF US EU Workshop on 2D Layered Materials and Devices held in 2015 with the European Union (EU) Graphene Flagship Program. Dr. Kaul is the recipient of the NSF’s Director’s Award for Program Management Excellence, the NASA Service Award, a NASA Team Technical Accomplishment Award, multiple NASA Patent Awards and numerous NASA Technology Brief Awards for her research. She was selected to be a participant at the US National Academy of Engineering (NAE) 2012 Frontiers of Engineering (FOE) Symposium, and in 2014 she was invited to participate in the bi-lateral Indo-US FOE, also organized by the US NAE. She currently serves on the Editorial Board of a number of journals and is a Fellow of the class of 2016 ELATE’s executive leadership development program (Drexel University). Dr. Kaul obtained her M.S. and Ph.D. from the University of California, Berkeley in MSE with minors in ECE and Physics where she was advised by Professor Theodore Van Duzer (ECE), an NAE member, and Professor Timothy D. Sands (co-advisor, MSE) who is the current President of Virginia Tech.

Kazuko Matsumoto graduated and got Ph D from the University of Tokyo. After working as a research associate at the same chemistry department, she moved to Waseda University as associate professor in1984 and was promoted to full professor in 1989. Her major research interests are (i) Luminescent lanthanide complexes and their applications to biotechnology and energy conversion. (ii) Purification and surface modification of nanodiamond for luminescent material. After she retired from Waseda University, she joined Honda Foundation as Executive Director, continuing her research work.

Mario F. S. Ferreira graduated in Physics from the University of Porto, Portugal, and he received the Ph.D. degree in Physics in 1992 from the University of Aveiro, Portugal, where he is now a Professor at the Physics Department. His research interests have been concerned with the modeling and characterization of multi-section semiconductor lasers for coherent systems, quantum well lasers, optical fiber amplifiers and lasers, soliton propagation, polarization and nonlinear effects in optical fibers. He is actually the leader of the Optics and Optoelectronics Group of the I3N – Institute of Nanostructures, Nanomodelling and Nanofabrication. He has written about 300 scientific journal and conference publications, a book with the title: “Optics and Photonics” (Lidel, 2003, in Portuguese) and another with the title: “Nonlinear Effects in Optical Fibers” (John Wiley & Sons, May 2011).

Currently directing the Laboratory of Mechanics of AUT and coordinating an EU-TMR Network on “Spatio-Temporal Instabilities in Deformation and Fracture” involving seven European laboratories through Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. He has published more than 300 papers in the areas of mechanics and materials. Several of these publications helped to identify and establish research areas such as double porosity/diffusivity theory, dislocation patterning, strain gradient theory, material instabilities, and nanomechanics. He has edited five books, organized numerous international symposia and conferences, and been invited to present his research on more than 200 occasions. He is co-editor of the Journal of Mechanical Behavior of Materials, serves on the Advisory Board of the International Journal for Numerical and Analytical Methods in Geomechanics, and has served on the Advisory Board of the Journal of Mechanics of Cohesive-Frictional Materials and Acta Mechanica. His research and academic activities have been supported by NSF/ARMY/AFOSR/ of US, as well as by the Commission of European Communities of EU.

UNCD film technology is commercialized for industrial products by Advanced Diamond Technologies (Auciello/Carlisle founders -2003, profitable in 2012, sold to large company for profit-2019), and by Original Biomedical Implants (OBI-USA, 2013) and OBI-México (2016) (Auciello/ colleagues/founders), for new generations of superior medical devices/prostheses and other implants. Dr. Yong Lei is a professor at the Technical University of Ilmenau in Germany. He obtained his PhD from the Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2001. After two years of postdoctoral research at the Singapore-MIT Alliance, he worked as an Alexander von Humboldt Fellow at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology in 2003–2006. Later he worked at the University of Muenster as a group leader (2006-2009) and a Junior professor (2009-2011). In 2011, he joined the Technical University of Ilmenau as Professor and the Head of the Group (Chair) of Applied Nano-Physics (Fachgebiet Angewante Nanophysik). His research interests focus on template-based multiple and surface nanostructuring, energy-related devices (sodium-ion and potassium-ion batteries) and optoelectronic applications of functional nanostructures and surface nano-patterns. So far he has authored for more than 220 papers in SCI-indexed journals, many of them are published in first-class journals, including 19 papers published in journals with impact factor higher than 20, and 75 papers published in journals with impact factor of 10-20. Prof. Lei received a few prestigious large projects in Europe and Germany, including European Research Council, BMBF (Federal Ministry of Education and Research of Germany), DFG (German Research Foundation), and VW-Stiftung (Volkswagen Foundation). Now he is an Editorial Advisory Board Member of the journal Advanced Energy Materials, Advisory Board Member of the journals Carbon Energy and InfoMat, and Associate Editor of the journal Energy & Environmental Materials.

Prof. Jinlian HU is a renowned fibers, textiles and biomaterials scientist. Her laboratory focuses on unearthing scientific principles and providing solutions to key problems in Healthcare of Wearable Materials in three major areas: Traditional Chinese medical therapies and their materials, energy materials and healthcare as well as spider silks and their relatives as biomaterials as well as personal protective integration. Professor Jinlian HU is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry, Hong Kong Institution of Textile and Apparel and the British Textile Institute. She published more about 400 papers, 13 books and hundreds of invited conference presentations.

Emeritus Professor Masahiro Yamashita is working in the Department of Chemistry, Graduate School of Science, Tohoku University, Japan. He completed (PhD) from Kyushu University, Japan

Liu received her Ph.D. from Princeton University in 1992, and completed her postdoctoral research at UC Berkeley in 1994 under a Miller Research Fellowship. She has received several prestigious awards, including an ACS Fellow in 2010, AAAS Fellow in 2007, Sloan Faculty Recognition Award in 2007, NSF-CAREER Award (1997), Arnold and Mable Beckman Young Investigator Award (1996-1998), and the Camille and Henry Dreyfus New Faculty Award (1994-1999). She has been a senior editor for the J. Phys. Chem. during 2005-2020. She serves on editorial advisory boards for ACS Nano, (2007-Present), Annual Rev. of Phys. Chem. (2010-2015), J. Phy. Chem. (2021-present) and Langmuir (2020-present). Liu’s overall research objectives focus on the development of advanced nanotechnology and exploration of its applications in materials science. One important aspect of the research is the design and engineering nanostructures which position reaction sites on surfaces with high precision. The exquisite precision attainable by the nanolithographic methods they have developed allows complex multivalent interactions such as surface reactions and bio-recognition to be controlled by varying the separation and local environment of the binding sites. The presentation will update audience with forefront academic research in nanoscience and nanotechnology, and to explore the new applications.

Paulo C. DE MORAIS, PhD, was full Professor of Physics at the University of Brasilia (UnB) – Brazil up to 2013, Appointed as UnB’s Emeritus Professor (2014), Appointed as Guest Professor of the Huazhong University of Science and Technology – China (2011), Visiting Professor at the Huazhong University of Science and Technology (HUST) – China (2012- 2015), Appointed as Distinguished Professor at the Anhui University (AHU) – China (2016- 2019), Appointed as Full Professor at the Catholic University of Brasília (UCB) – Brazil (2018), Appointed as CNPq-1A Research Fellowship since 2010, 2007 Master Research Prize from UnB, 2008-member of the European ERA NET Nanoscience Committee, Member of the IEEE-Magnetic Society Technical Committee, Senior Member of the IEEE Society, 2012 China’s 1000 Foreign Expert Recipient, and 2012 Academic Excellence Award from Brazilian Professor’s Union. He has served as referee for over 40 technical journals, takes part of the Editorial Board of more than 10 technical journals and has conducted research on nanomaterials for over 35 years. He is known for his research in preparation, characterization and applications of nanoparticle-based materials (magnetic fluid, magnetoliposome, magnetic nanoemulsion, magnetic nanocapsule, magnetic nanofilm, magnetic nanocomposite, semiconductor quantum dots, polymeric dots, and carbon dots). His current (April2020) metrics with Web of Science (Google Scholar) is H42 (H50), 480 (610) records and 7,343 (10,184) citations.

Gregory Timp received his Ph.D. from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1986 working with Mildred Dresselhaus. After a postdoc at IBM with Alan Fowler and Richard Webb, he joined Bell Laboratories in 1988, where he pursued low temperature transport physics in nanostructures, the limitations of scaling silicon transistors and optical trapping of neutral atoms. In 2000, he joined the faculty of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Illinois, where his research focused mainly on the application of semiconductor nanotechnology to address questions in biology. In 2010, he joined the faculty of Notre Dame to pursue nano-biotechnology with a joint appointment in Biological Sciences and Electrical Engineering. He is the Keough-Hesburgh Professor of Engineering and Systems Biology. He is a Fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science; a Fellow of the American Physical Society; and a Fellow of the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers. He has published over 100 articles in scientific journals and holds 10 patents.

Shinya Hayami is a professor of inorganic chemistry in Kumamoto University (Japan). He received his Ph.D degree in 1997 from Kyushu University. Following two post-doctoral stints in Institute for Molecular Science (IMS), Apr. 1998–Mar. 1999 and Kanagawa Academy of Science and Technology (KAST), Apr. 1999–Sep. 2000. He joined Kyushu University as an Assistant Professor in Oct. 2000 and moved to Hiroshima University as an Associate Professor in Jan. 2007, and then to Kumamoto University as a Professor in April, 2009. His research interests include the study of spin crossover and LIESST compounds, advanced soft materials, and graphene hybrids.

Adam completed the Master of Electrical Engineering Program at Białystok University of Technology (Poland) receiving both Master and Engineer degrees. He obtained Doctor of Technical Sciences Degree in Electrical Engineering at the Warsaw University of Technology. In 1987, he joined the University of Québec at Trois-Rivières, where he is currently a Full Professor and former Head of the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department.

Gabor Patonay is Professor of Analytical Chemistry at Department of Chemistry, Georgia State University, Atlanta, GA 30303, USA. He obtained his M.S. and Ph.D. degrees from the Technical University of Budapest, Hungary. In 1982 he left Hungary and became a Postdoctoral Associate in Professor Isiah Warner’s group in the Department of Chemistry at Emory University specializing in fluorescence spectroscopy, separations and instrument development. He joined the faculty of Georgia State University (GSU) in 1987, where he is currently Professor and Analytical Division Head. Dr. Patonay’s research interests at GSU include many analytical and environmental chemistry areas, specifically NIR fluorescence related research developing new bioanalytical and biomedical applications using NIR probes and labels; biomolecule separations using HPLC and CE; development of presumptive forensic analytical techniques and use of nanotechnology in bioanalytical chemistry. Dr. Patonay published over 200 papers and presented over 250 conference lectures.

Aleksandr Urakov graduated from Izhevsk State Medical Institute and in 1977 joined the research of the laboratory of Biophysics of Mitochondrial Processes Institute of Biophysics RASin Pushchino-on-Oka. After receiving the degree of candidate and doctor of medical Sciences in the field of pharmacology at the Kazan State Medical Institute, he was elected head of the Department of Pharmacology of the Izhevsk State Medical Institute in 1988 in Izhevsk. In 2007 he was accepted as a researcher of the Department of Thermo-deformation Processes of the Institute of Mechanics of the Ural branch of the RAS in Izhevsk. In 2017 he was appointed as a senior researcher, and in 2019 - a leading researcher of the Department of Modeling and Synthesis of Technological Structures of the Udmurt Federal Research Center in Izhevsk.The specialized research area of Prof. Urakov is the development of new cosmetics and hygienic means based on physical and chemical properties, including agents that dissolve, bleachof blood clots, spots of pus and food pollutants.Recently, Professor Urakov invented an epoch-making method for emergency bleaching of traces of blood, pus and food residues and opened a new group of drugs, which was called oxygen-alkaline bleaching cleaners. In addition, he developed several original methods of diagnosis of various diseases using infrared thermography and he invented the winter sniper rifle and the winter Kalashnikov rifle. In 2015 he was accepted as a member of the European Association of Thermology.His R & D activity is complemented by over 360 papers and review articles in International Journals & Conference, and over 3.000 citations by other researchers. Furthermore, he obtained 220 Russian Patents. In particular, he discovered a calluses disease of the lips and cheeks caused by braces, and invented a decorative sticker to cover the braces on the dentitionfor the prevention of this disease.

Samo Kralj was awarded BS (1982), MS (1988), and Ph.D. (1991) in physic from the University in Ljubljana, Slovenia. He worked as a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Department of Mathematics, University of Southampton, UK (1992), and at the Solid State Department, Jožef Stefan Institute, Slovenia (1993-1996). In the period 1999-2013 he spent several months at the Department of Mathematics, University of Pavia, Italy. In Fall 2013 he was Visiting Professor at the Isaak Newton Institute for Mathematical Sciences, University of Cambridge, UK. In 2001 he was awarded the title Full Professor of Physics from the University of Maribor, Slovenia. In 1999 he established and is heading since then the Laboratory Physics of Complex Systems and Postgraduate study of Physics at the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Mathematics (then the Faculty of Education), University of Maribor. Currently, he is the head of the Laboratory Physics of Complex Systems, the head of Ph.D. study of Physics, and vice-head of the Department of Physics, Faculty of Natural Sciences and Mathematics, University of Maribor. He is also a member of the Jožef Stefan International Postgraduate School and Senior Research Advisor at the Solid State Department, Jožef Stefan Institute, Ljubljana, Slovenia. His research interest includes soft matter physics modeling, topological defects, soft nanocomposites, and glassy systems. He was the main organizer and general chair of the 11th European Conference on Liquid Crystals (2011, Maribor, Slovenia) and of the ESF exploratory workshop “Defect-assembled soft matter for nanoscience and biotechnology” (2013, RogaškaSlatina, Slovenia). He was also co-chair of the International Conference on Liquid Crystals, “Liquid Crystalline Polymers and Nanosystems” (2019, Kottayam, India). He is also very active in science popularization activities as a lecturer, writer of papers and books, and cartoonist for which he obtained several national awards. He is also a piano player in the PhD Big Bang Band of the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Mathematics, University of Maribor.

Kwon Young-Uk: Professor in Department of Chemistry and SAINT, Sungkyunkwan University, Korea; Dean of College of Science; Director of HRD Center for Creative Convergent Chemical Sciences; Managing editor of NANO (SCIE journal). He got his bachelor degree from Seoul National University in 1984, and Ph.D. from Iowa State University in 1991. His passion for academic administration started when he was at the University of Alberta (UofA), where he was appointed as the Associate Chair for Graduate Studies at the department level. Matteo Tonezzer won the "Young Scientist Award 2011" by the European Materials Research Society. He worked in research centers in France (ESRF), Brazil (UFMG), Vietnam (HUST), Italy (INFM, CNR), South Korea (INHA) and USA (GeorgiaTech). He is currently working for IMEM-CNR. His main area of interest concerns sensing properties of nanostructured materials and smart sensing using machine learning.

Brian Cantor is an Emeritus Professor in the Department of Materials at the University of Oxford and a Research Professor in the Brunel Centre for Advanced Solidification Technology at Brunel University. He was previously Vice-Chancellor of the University of York and of Bradford University, Head of Mathematical and Physical Sciences at the University of Oxford, a research scientist and engineer at General Electric Research Labs in the USA, and worked briefly at Banaras Hindu University, Washington State, Northeastern, IISc Bangalore and the Kobe Institute. He founded and built up the World Technology Universities Network, the UK National Science Learning Centre, the Hull-York Medical School, and Oxford’s Begbroke Science Park. He was a long-standing consultant for Alcan, NASA and Rolls-Royce, and editor of Progress in Materials Science. He invented the new field of multicomponent high-entropy alloys and discovered the so-called Cantor alloys.

The research work on photocatalysis by Professor Ohtani started in 1981 when he was a Ph. D. course student in Kyoto University. Since then he has been studying photocatalysis and related topics for more than 30 years and published more than 300 original papers (h-index: 72) and two single-author books. After gaining his Ph. D. degree from Kyoto University in 1985, he became an assistant professor in the university. In 1996, he was promoted to an associate professor in Division of Chemistry, Graduate School of Science, Hokkaido University and was then awarded a full professor position in the Catalysis Research Center (presently Institute for Catalysis), Hokkaido University in 1998. For the education of graduate students, Professor Ohtani's laboratory has belonged to the Graduate School of Environmental Science, Hokkaido University since 1999. He was awarded 2005 Scientific Achievement Award of The Electrochemical Society of Japan, The Japanese Photochemistry Association Award 2006, Catalysis Society of Japan Award for 2013, The Japanese Photochemistry Association Lectureship Award (2017) and The Award of The Electrochemical Society of Japan (Takei Award), 2018.

Dr Serge Cosnier is currently Research Director at CNRS at the Department of Molecular Chemistry of the Grenoble Alpes University (France) wherehe began his research career in 1983. He receivedhis doctoral degree in Chemistryfrom the Toulouse university (1982) and was an Alexander vonHumbold postdoctoral fellow at the university of Munich, Germany. Cosnier’sactivityisfocused on the molecularelectrochemistry and bioelectrochemistrywith the development of biologicalsensors, enzymatic fuel cells and bio-nanomaterialsbased on carbon nanotubes. He has authored over 375 publications (h-index 66), 3 books and holds 25 patents.In 2009, Dr Cosnier received the Katsumi Niki Prize of the International Society of Electrochemistry and was appointed as Fellow of ISE in 2010. He became a member of the Academia Europaeai(2013)and of the European Academy of Sciences (2019).Finally, hewaselectedin 2021 Fellow of American Institute for Medical and Biological Engineering.

Before joining UCI as the Chancellor’s Professor in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering (MEA), Dr. Madou was Vice President of Advanced Technology at Nanogen in San Diego. Madou was the founder of SRI International’s Microsensor Department, founder and President of Teknekron Sensor Development Corporation (TSDC), Visiting Miller Professor at UC Berkeley and Endowed Chair at the Ohio State University (Professor in Chemistry and Materials Science and Engineering). He specializes in the application of miniaturization technology to chemical and biological problems (BIO-MEMS). He is the author of several books in this burgeoning field he helped pioneer both in Academia and in Industry. “Fundamentals of Microfabrication,” an introduction to MEMS and NEMS, has become known as the “bible” of micromachining. He founded several micromachining companies and has been on the board of many more. Many of his students became well known in their own right in academia and through successful MEMS start-ups. Dr. Madou, today, works with research teams in India (IIT Kharagpur), Mexico (Tec de Monterrey and UNAM), Malaysia (UM) and Germany (KIT). In the recent past he also worked on large projects with teams in South-Korea and Canada. Dr. Madou has an h-index of 78 (as of May 1, 2021) and he is considered the pioneer of two research fields that are now being pursued worldwide i.e., Carbon Micro- and Nanofabrication (C-MEMS and C-NEMS) and Compact Disc Fluidics (CD-Fluidics) for Molecular Diagnostics. These two technologies have resulted in at least 10 start-up companies worldwide. From those founded by Dr. Madou, Enevate, a lithium- ion battery company in Irvine, CA) is the largest and best known.

Prof. Volker Hessel studied chemistry at Mainz University/D. 1994: Institut für Mikrotechnik Mainz/Germany (Director R&D); 2005: Professor Eindhoven University of Technology/NL; 2018: Deputy Dean (Research), Professor University of Adelaide, Australia; 2019: part-time professor University of Warwick/UK. He is author of 512 peer-reviewed publications (h-index: 76). Dongfeng Xue is a full Professor and Director at the Multiscale Crystal Materials Research Center, Shenzhen Institute of Advanced Technology, Chinese Academy of Sciences, China. He received his PhD in inorganic chemistry at Changchun Institute of Applied Chemistry, CAS, in 1998. Following postdoctoral studies at the Universität Osnabrück, University of Ottawa and the National Institute for Materials Science in Tsukuba, he was promoted to full professor in 2001 at Dalian University of Technology, China. In 2011, he returned to Changchun Institute of Applied Chemistry to assume his professorship in materials chemistry, as the director of State Key Laboratory of Rare Earth Resource Utilization during 2015-2019. In 2020, he moved to Shandong University as the director of State Key Laboratory of Crystal Materials. In 2021, he created Multiscale Crystal Materials Research Center in Shenzhen. His research interests focus on multiscale crystallization of inorganic matter for energy and optical applications. He has published more than 600 papers and book chapters, and holds around 20 patents. He is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry, a Corresponding Member of the European Academy of Arts, Sciences and Humanities (EAASH, Paris).

Dr. So received his PhD from the University of Southern California. He worked for Motorola and OSRAM Opto-Semiconductors for 14 years before he became a professor at the University of Florida. He was a Rolf E Hummel Professor of Electronic Materials in the Department of Materials Science and Engineering at the University of Florida. Since 2015, he joined the North Carolina State University and is currently the Walter and Ida Freeman Distinguished Professor of Materials Science and Engineering. Dr. So is currently a Fellow of the National Academy of Inventors, IEEE, OSA, SID, and SPIE. He is the Editor-in-Chief of Materials Science and Engineering Reports and Associate Editor of four other research journals. He chairs the OLED Symposium of the SPIE Optics and Photonics conference. Dr. So holds 100 issued patents and has 14 pending. He has over 200 publications and has a Google H-index of 73. So’s current research focus is on electronics properties and photophysics of organic semiconductors and quantum dots used for OLEDs, solar cells, photodetectors, sensors and transistors. His recent works include: use of corrugated structures to fabricate OLEDs and perovskite solar cells, charge transport, injection and charge transfer excitons in organic semiconductors, dielectric properties of polymer-fullerene blends for photovoltaics, vertical permeable metal base transistors, vertical field effect transistors, PbS quantum dots photodetectors and phototransistors, and ferroelectric transistors.

Joseph Poon is William Barton Rogers Professor of Physics at the University of Virginia. He received his BS and PhD from Caltech and was did postdoc work at Stanford University. He has published 200+ papers. His current research is on magnetic films and thermoelectric materials. He previously worked on metallic glasses and quasicrystals.

Charles H Williams completed his PhD in 1968 and then a post-doctoral at the Institute for Enzyme Research with David E Green on mitochondrial studies. He moved to Missouri as an associate professor of biochemistry and as an assistant professor of medicine. He relocated to TTUHSC-El Paso in 1982, where MH research was his primary area of interest. He has published over 50 papers in refereed journals and has presented posters and lectures at many international events. He has also awarded with US Patent #5,030,633 in July 9, 1991 for the use of androstane derivative against malignant hyperthermia. He (editor and author or co-author on 7 of 14 Chapters) has published over 50 manuscripts, published abstracts, presentations at various meetings and two books published, one of those books is experimental malignant hyperthermia, New York, Springer Verlag, 1988.

Dr. Sci. Albert G. Nasibulin is a Professor at Skolkovo Institute of Science and Technology and an Adjunct Professor at Department of Chemistry and Materials Science of Aalto University School of Chemical Engineering. He held a post of the Academy Research Fellow in Academy of Finland from 2006 to 2011. Since 2018 he is a Professor of the Russian Academy of Sciences. Dongling Ma is a full professor at Institut National de la Recherche Scientifique (INRS), Canada. Her main research interest consists in the development of various nanomaterials (e.g., quantum dots, catalytic nanoparticles, plasmonic nanostructures, and different types of nanohybrids) for applications in energy, catalysis, and biomedical sectors. Before joining INRS in July 2006, she was awarded Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council Visiting Fellowships and worked at National Research Council of Canada from 2004 to 2006. She received her Ph.D. degree from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (USA) in 2004.

Celso C. Ribeiro is a Member of the Brazilian Academy of Sciences and of the National Order of the Scientific Merit In Brazil. He is a Full Professor at the Department of Computer Science of Universidade Federal Fluminense, Brazil. He chaired the Departments of Electrical Engineering (1983-1987) and Computer Science (1993-1995) of the Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. He was the Director of the Department of Modernization Programs of the Brazilian Ministry of Education (2005-2007) and acted as Subsecretary of Education of the State of Rio de Janeiro (2007–2008). He obtained his doctorate in Computer Science at EcoleNationaleSupérieure des Télécommunications, France, in 1983 and his Habilitation at Université Paris XIII, France, in 1990. He was a President of the Brazilian Operations Research Society (1989-1990), a President of the Latin-American Association of Operations Research Societies (1992-1994), and a Vice-President of the International Federation of Operational Research Societies (1998-2000). His research is funded by the Brazilian Council of Scientific and Technological Development (CNPq) and by the Rio de Janeiro State Foundation for

Karu Esselle, IEEE ‘M (1992), SM (1996), F (2016), is the Distinguished Professor in Electromagnetic and Antenna Engineering at the University of Technology Sydney and a Visiting Professor of Macquarie University, Sydney. According to 2019 Special Report on Research published by The Australian national newspaper, he is the National Research Field Leader in Australia in both Microelectronics and Electromagnetisms fields. Karu received BSc degree in electronic and telecommunication engineering with First Class Honours from the University of Moratuwa, Sri Lanka, and MASc and PhD degrees with near-perfect GPA in electrical engineering from the University of Ottawa, Canada. Previously he was Director of WiMed Research Centre and Associate Dean – Higher Degree Research (HDR) of the Division of Information and Communication Sciences and directed the Centre for Collaboration in Electromagnetic and Antenna Engineering at Macquarie University. He has also served as a member of the Dean’s Advisory Council and the Division Executive and as the Head of the Department several times. Yuerui (Larry) Lu received his Ph.D. degree from Cornell University, the school of Electrical and Computer Engineering, in 2012. He holds a B.S. degree from department of Applied Physics at University of Science and Technology of China. In 2013, he joined the Australian National University as a research fellow and lecturer under the Future Engineering Research Leadership Fellowship. In 2016, he was promoted to an associate professor at the ANU. Rémi Léandre is director of research at C.N.R.S. He works on the Malliavin Calculus, white noise analysis and stochastic differential geometry and their applications to analysis, geometry and mathematical physics. He has written about 170 papers on this subject and received Bronze Medal of C.N.R.S. in 1988 and Rollo Davidson Prize in 1989 for various works on hypoelliptic diffusions. He has organized several conferences in France and published with X. Dai, X. Ma and W. Zhang two books in honour of the birthday of Jean-Michel Bismut at Astérisque (French Mathematical society).

Sandrine Gerber is, since 2007, Deputy Director of the Institute of Chemical Sciences and Engineering (ISIC) and Head of the Group for Functionalized Biomaterials (SCI-SB-SG) at the Ecole PolytechniqueFédérale de Lausanne (EPFL, Switzerland). She also serves as Adjunct Professor and Lecturer in EPFL's School of Basic Sciences. Prof. Gerber has solid broad knowledge in synthetic organic chemistry for the design and preparation of complex bioactive molecules. Her scientific expertise is related to the development of new chemical entities for bio-applications. The research activities of her group focus on the design, synthesis and evaluation of functionalized nanomaterials and biomaterials for therapeutic applications as carriers for gene delivery, cancer theranosticnanodevices, cell transplantation hydrogels and viral sensors. As part of her management function in ISIC (750 collaborators over two sites in Lausanne and Sion), Prof Gerber has direct supervision of analytic platforms, support services and workshops of the Institute. Her duties also include teaching of organic chemistry at the Bachelor and Master levels for the Section of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering at EPFL and the School of Biology and Medicine at the University of Lausanne (UNIL). She manages several independent national and international multidisciplinary scientific projects and was principal investigator in the European Commission FP7 NAMDIATREAM project (EU NMP4-LA-2010-246479). Sandrine Gerber received several awards for her research work, including the 2010 Werner Prize from the Swiss Chemical Society, and the 2018 Excellence in Teaching Award of the Section of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering. In 2020, she was elected Fellow of the International Association of Advanced Materials.

Prof. Mineo Hiramatsu received Ph.D. from Nagoya University and is a Full Professor of Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Meijo University, Japan. His main fields of research are plasma diagnostics and plasma processing for the synthesis of thin films and nanostructured materials. For more than 20 years, he has been engaged in researches on the synthesis of diamond and graphene-based materials.Author of more than 150 scientific papers and patents on plasma processes for materials science.He served as chairman and member of organizing and scientific committees of international conferences on plasma chemistry and plasma processing. He was awarded the Japan Society of Applied Physics Fellow in 2017.

Mike Robinson, the founder Global Cannabinoid Research Center in Santa Barbara California has extensive history in the world of Cannabis, Hemp, and more. Hyung-Ho Park is a professor in the Materials Science & Engineering Department of Yonsei University in Korea since 1995. His research is mainly focused on the preparation, characterization, and application of various functional materials including thin film materials, nanomaterials, and nanoporous materials including aerogels. Thin film functional materials include transparent conducting oxides for LED, photovoltaic devices, and GMR for resistive RAM, etc. Concerning with aerogels research, Park established a ‘Aerogel Materials Research Center’ from 2020, supported by a National Research Foundation of Korea. In AMRC, synthesis of inorganic, organic, and inorganic-organic hybrid aerogels are being investigated, especially formation of compound aerogels is included. Furthermore, to overcome the brittle nature of aerogel materials, multi-compositional, multi-dimensional, and multi-scaling approaches are being investigated. Through these works, applications of aerogels to thermal insulation systems, in aeronautical domains, for environment clean up and protection, heat storage devices, transparent windows, thickening agents in paints, etc. are also being studied.

Dr. Aman Ullah received his PhD (with distinction) in Chemical Sciences and Technologies in 2010 at the University of Genova, Italy by working together at Southern Methodist University, USA. He worked at different research institutes in Asia/Europe/US before accepting an Assistant Professor position at the University of Alberta. He is currently an Associate Professor and leads a research group on the Utilization of Lipids – Polymers/Materials Chemistry at University of Alberta, Canada. Aman has more than 86 publications with 5 patents/patent applications and has incorporated a new spinoff biorefinery. His research is focused on the development of biochemicals, biopolymers/biomaterials from renewable biomass. Dr.Keoduangchai Keokhamphui has been teaching in the National University of Laos (NUOL), Faculty of Engineering, Department of Irrigation Engineering (Faculty of Water Resources currently). His teaching experiences include high diploma degree, bachelor degree, and Master degree in irrigation engineering and water resources engineering such as reinforce concrete, design timber and steel structure, and irrigation and environment for the irrigation field. Prof Dr Hassen Chaabani was born the 07 / 09 / 1947 in Tunis (Tunisia). He is Full University Professor in Human Genetics, Biological Evolution and Anthropology (University of Monastir). He was Director of Department from 1990 to 1996 (Faculty of Pharmacy of Monastir), Director of a Research Unit E12 / CO9 (in Human Biology), from 1996, and Director of a Research Unit entitled: “Biology and Molecular Anthropology applied to Development and Health” (until 2013). Many research works of Master and Doctorate were done under his management. He was Chairman of three International Conferences and has taken part in many other scientific and cultural meetings at the national and international scales. He is the Founder and the President of the “Tunisian Association of Anthropology”. He is the Founder and the Editor-in-Chief of the “International Journal of Modern Anthropology”. Among his recent research works he has proved an original theoretical comparative analysis between two nanostructures: that of DNA (biologic molecule) and that a layered silicate (nano-clay structure). He wrote dozens of academic articles, two books and several book chapters. In 2014, he was awarded the honorary title of Professor Emeritus.

Dr Chua Kian Jon is currently an Associate Professor with the Department of Mechanical Engineering, National University of Singapore. He has been conducting research on nano/microscale heat transfer, renewable energy systems and heat recovery systems since 1997. He has conducted both modelling and experimental works for specific thermal energy systems. He is highly skilled in designing; fabricating; commissioning and testing many sustainable energy systems to provide for heating, cooling and humidity control for both small and large scale applications. His work in demonstration of the first silicon laser was cited by the MIT Technology Review magazine as the top 10 technology trends in 2005. While on leave from UCLA from 1999-2001, Dr. Jalali founded Cognet Microsystems, a Los Angeles based fiber optic component company. He served as the company’s CEO, President and Chairman, from its inception through acquisition by Intel Corporation in 2001. From 2001-2004, he was a consultant for Intel Corporation. Dr. Jalali serves on the Board of Trustees of the California Science Center. He has received the BridgGate 20 Award for his contributions to the southern California economy.

Professor Yin Xiao, a dental specialist (BDSc 1986 and MDSc 1991), started his research career in 2000 (PhD from the University of Queensland) and has been the tenured professor at Queensland University of Technology since 2005. He is the Founder and the Director of the Australia-China Centre for Tissue Engineering and Regenerative Medicine (ACCTERM) established in 2013 and the Joint Research Centre of functional biomaterials for tissue and organ replacement. His work has predominantly focused on bone, biomaterials, stem cells, dentistry, osteoarthritis, and tissue engineering. Zhanxi FAN is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Chemistry, City University of Hong Kong. Associate Professor Puri is an established leader in the area of industrial biotechnology. He obtained his Ph.D. in India and did his postdoctoral research at the University of Oxford, UK. Throughout her career, she was Research Scholar at the University of Pennsylvania, US (1989-1990) in the domain of superconductors. Dr Zhugen Yang was awarded a prestigious UK NERC Fellowship to start his independent academic career in 2018, leading a group on advanced sensors for water-environment-health nexus. He completed his postdoc at the University of Cambridge and was a EU Marie Curie Fellow at the Universities of Bath and Glasgow, after his PhD from University of Lyon (Ecole Centrale, France), MSc (SYSU) and BEng (HIT) in China.

Ching-Ting Lee received his B.S. and M.S. degrees in the Electrical Engineering Department of the National Cheng Kung University, Taiwan, in 1972 and 1974, respectively. He received his Ph.D. degree from the Electrical Engineering Department from the Carnegie-Mellon University, Pittsburgh, PA, in 1982. He joined on National Cheng Kung University as the Dean of the College of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from 2003 to 2009, and was the chair professor at the Institute of Microelectronics, Department of Electrical Engineering of the National Cheng Kung University. Now, he is the chair professor and vice president in Yuan Ze University. Among the awards and honors, he has received are Fellow of IEEE and Fellow of IET, the Outstanding Research Professor Fellowship from the National Science Council (NSC), Republic of China, distinguish service award from Institute of Electrical Engineering Society, the Optical Engineering Medal from Optical Engineering Society, Distinguish Electrical Engineering professor award from Chinese Institute of Electrical Engineering Society, and Distinguish Engineering professor award from the Chinese Institute of Engineers. He received the ASIA’s Education Excellence Awards from Le Meridien Singapore and International Association of Advanced Materials (IAAM) Fellow from Sweden. His research activities have also investigated III-V semiconductor lasers, photodetectors and high-speed electronic devices, and their associated integration for electrooptical integrated circuits.

Prof. Dr. Mehmet Ertugrul was born in Trabzon, Turkey, in 1966. Hereceived the B.Sc. degree from the Department of Physics, in 1986, and the M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees in physics, in 1990 and 1994, respectively. From 1994 to 1996, 1996 to 2001, and 2001—2002, he was, respectively, an Assistant Professor, an Associate Professor, and a Full Professor at the Department of Physics, Ataturk University, where he has been a Full Professor at the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering since 2003. He is the author or co-author of more than 200 papers published in international journals and over 200 publications in national and international conference proceedings. His current research interests include carbon nanostructures and composites, energy storage systems employing 2D structures such as graphene, dichalcogenides and MXenes, biomedical and gas sensors, ultraconducting and superconducting cables, covetics, radar absorber materials, superconducting and semiconducting devices. He worked as a visiting scientist at Oak Ridge National Laboratory between 2001-2003, 2005-2006, and 2008-2009.He has been working as a visiting profffessor at University Putra Malaysia (UPM) since 2019.Prof. Ertugrul has received several awards such as Encouragement award by The Scientific and Research Council of Turkey (TUBITAK), The Successful Young Scientists Award by the Turkish Academy of Sciences, and the best project award. He was also awarded with NATO-C scholarship in 2001 and TUBITAK scholarship in 2009.He has served as a supervisor to many masters and PhD students.He has worked for several committees such as the Higher Education Council, The Scientific and Research Council, The Ministry of Science, Technology and Industry of Turkey.

He obtained also a long term grant from Japan Society of Promotion of Science and spent a year at Tohoku University 2007-2008. Gil Gonçalves received his PhD in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Aveiro in 2012, with a thesis dedicated to nanocomposite materials for biomedical application. After obtaining a Marie Curie research fellowship in 2016, he started working at the Institute of Material Science of Barcelona-High Council of Spanish Research (ICMAB-CSIC) on the development of ultra-sensitive nanotherapeutic anticancer agents for neutron capture therapy (H2020-MSCA-IF-2015). He was a short-term visitor on various occasions at Laboratory of Applied Nuclear Energy (LENA, University of Pavia) and Department of Chemical and Pharmaceutical Sciences, University of Trieste. Currently he is working at Centre for Mechanical Technology and Automation (TEMA, University of Aveiro) as a researcher on the development of new graphene-based nanocomposite materials with application on many different fields: Graphene-based porous structures for heterogeneous catalysis (Catalysis) and water purification (Environment), three-dimensional graphene scaffolds for biomedical applications (Biomaterials), nanostructured graphene substrates for selective biomolecules detection (Sensors) and carbon-based nanoplatforms for detection and therapy of cancer cells and tumours (Therapeutic agent). Dr. Gil has (co-)authored numerous scientific papers and communications in national and international conferences and he is a regular reviewer for high impact scientific journals in the field of multifunctional carbon nanomaterials. Dr. Yang is currently an Assistant Professor at the Department of Materials Science and Engineering in City University of Hong Kong. Dr. Luigi Maxmilian Caligiuri (born in 30th of November 1972) is an Italian Physicist. He received laurea magna cum laude in theoretical Physics from University of Calabria, Cosenza, Italy in 1995. He has started his research and teaching activity at University of Calabria at Faculties of Sciences and Engineering in several fields of theoretical and applied sciences. From 2001 he is full professor of Physics and, from 2013, also the director of the Foundation of Physics Research Center (FoPRC) in Italy, an independent research organization devoted to advanced research in Physics. He has published several scientific papers in peer-reviewed international journals of physics and engineering in the fields of theoretical physics, acoustics, biophysics, electromagnetic fields and material sciences. He is editorial board member of numerous international journals related to theoretical and applied physics. His most recent interests relate to coherent quantum field theory and its application to different fields - from fundamental physics to cosmology and brain mechanism - to superluminal physics and to the study of consciousness and mind mechanism from the standpoint of quantum mechanics. Dr. Ye CHEN is currently an Assistant Professor in the Department of Chemistry, The Chinese University of Hong Kong. She received her Bachelor and Ph.D. degrees in Materials Science from Nanyang Technological University (Singapore) in 2015 and 2019, respectively. She has authored or co-authored over 30 SCI papers in the past five years. Fabio Cicoira is a full professor at the Chemical Engineering Department of Polytechnique Montreal. His research interests lie in the field of flexible, stretchable and healable electronics, patterning and processing of organic electronic materials, electrochemical transistors, implantable electrodes, organic field-effect transistors and organic thin film growth. Fabio completed his PhD in Materials Science and Engineering at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Lausanne and his undergraduate studies in Chemistry at the Università di Bologna, the latter after an internship at the European Laboratory for Particle Physics (CERN). I, AliyevZakirHuseynoqlu was born on 05/03/1949 in the family of an employee. In 1972 he graduated with honors from the mechanical faculty of the Azerbaijan State Oil Academy. At the end of ASOA in 1972 in the person of a specialist with higher education in the Azerbaijan Scientific Research Organization (AzINMASH) for the position of Art. Engineer at the Wellhead Equipment, where he worked since 1975. In 1975, in connection with the results of earlier research papers engaged in the activity profile and thematic community (vetch Study “Inventory of Land Water Resources and Dynamics of Their Changes"). " Structural Changes of the Earth "," Environmental Problems of the Caspian Sea and the Air Surface on atmospheric surface, etc.) was invited to work at the Academy of Sciences Az. SSR. The Caspian Scientific Center, which later functioned as the introduction of Intercoms in the USSR (now called the Azerbaijan National Aerospace Agency - ANAS), where he worked in 1994.

Hansong Xue obtained his B.Sc. with 1st class honours in Mathematics at the National University of Singapore (NUS) in 2009, followed by a double M.Sc. (both by research) in Applied Mathematics at NUS and in Chemistry at Nanyang Technological University (NTU) in 2011 and 2015, respectively. Afterward, He received his Ph.D. in Chemical & Biomolecular Engineering at NUS in 2019. Currently, he is a research fellow and team leader for the thin-film device modeling team in the Solar Energy Research Institute of Singapore (SERIS). His research so far has been multi-disciplinary, touching upon areas such as fluid-structure interactions, optical modeling, computational chemistry, reaction kinetics for mechanistic study, transport phenomena, machine learning/artificial intelligence, with applications in solar photovoltaics, mainly on perovskite and organic solar cells, perovskite on silicon or III-V tandem device, as well as in fuel cells, bioimpedance, and flow photochemistry.

Dr. Peggy Lo is currently an Associate Professor in the Department of Chemistry at City University of Hong Kong. She received her BSc and MSc degrees from Hong Kong Baptist University. In 2010, she obtained her PhD degree in major of DNA Chemistry from McGill University. She then further moved to the United State and worked as a postdoctoral fellow in Harvard University until she returned to Hong Kong in 2012. She is an organic and materials chemist. Her research area is highly interdisciplinary and lies at the interface between chemistry, biology, nanotechnology and materials science. Her research interests include nucleic acid synthesis, development of nano-biosensor, self-assembly of nanomaterials, photodynamic therapy, drug delivery, and anticancer drug development. She has been awarded The President’s Awards 2016 in City University of Hong Kong, the Governor General’s Gold Medal in the Physical Sciences in 2011, the Carl A. Winkler Award in 2010 and the Macromolecular Sciences and Engineering Division of the CSC Award in Polymer Science across Canada in 2010.

Dr. Habil. Vaidotas KAŽUKAUSKAS is a Professor at the Faculty of Physics of Vilnius University, Lithuania. He was awarded Dr. Habil. degree in 1999. The topics of his research work are carrier transport, generation, recombination and trapping phenomena in advanced materials and structures for (opto-)electronic and photovoltaic applications. Prof. V. Kažukauskas is/was involved as a team leader into the six large-scale international projects and other numerous projects. Gunther Bohn has been Professor and Head of the Optoelectronics Laboratory in the Electrical Engineering Department at the Würzburg-Schweinfurt University of Applied Sciences since 2004. He studied electrical engineering at the Friedrich-Alexander-University Erlangen-Nürnberg, where received his PhD in the field of optics. From 1999 to 2004 Gunther Bohn was team leader and project manager at Robert BOSCH GmbH. Gunther Bohn conducts research in the fields of accumulators and optical inspection systems: He is involved in the technology transfer center for electro mobility at his university. There he develops methods for high-precision optical measurement of the expansion of lithium-ion batteries during charging and discharging. Gunther Bohn is currently chairman of the examination board for the electrical engineering and information technology course and a member of the faculty council of his faculty.

Dr. Gernot S. Pomrenke is program manager for Optoelectronics, Photonics and Nanotechnology at the Air Force Office of Scientific Research (AFOSR) in Arlington VA. Within his national and international portfolio he explores nanophotonics, including plasmonics and metamaterials, to manipulate and exploit light-matter interactions to increase the performance of optoelectronic components. Other major portfolio thrusts include Silicon Photonics, Integrated Photonics, Reconfigurable Photonics as well as Terahertz Technology and Quantum Computing. Prior to arriving at AFOSR, Dr. Pomrenke was located at the National Science Foundation, as photonics program director, and the Defense Advanced Projects Agency (DARPA) as program manager for the Ultra Electronics (nanoelectronics) and Terahertz Technology Programs. Prior to this he held various technical and academic positions (as active duty military officer) in the Air Force including an exchange program to the Fraunhofer Institute in Germany and a sabbatical with the Naval Research Lab. While at the Fraunhofer IAF from 1982 to 1984, he performed research in III-V semiconductors and ground breaking work leading to silicon photonics. He holds a position as DoD representative to the National Subcommittee on Nanoscale Science, Engineering and Technology (NSET) within the NNI (www.nano.gov), and was one of the original members of the Interagency Working Group on Nanoscience, Engineering and Technology (IWGN) responsible for the National Nanotechnology Initiative (NNI). Dr.Kuan-Wei Lee received a Ph.D. degree from the Department of Electrical Engineering, National Cheng-Kung University, Tainan, Taiwan, in 2006. He joined the Department of Electronic Engineering at I-Shou University as an assistant professor in 2006, was promoted to associate professor in August 2009, and was promoted to professor in February 2013. Professor Lee’s main research focuses on metal-oxide-semiconductor (MOS) technology and its application in III-V electronic devices. He was elected a Distinguished Teaching Instructorbythe College of Electrical and Information Engineering at I-Shou University in 2010. He also received the Outstanding Electrical Engineer Award from The Chinese Institute of Electrical Engineering (CIEE) in 2011 and was listed in Marquis 2011-2012, 2016-2017 Who’s Who in Science and Engineering. Meanwhile, he is a guest editor respectively for “Molecules”, “Microelectronics Reliability”, and “Active and Passive Electronic Components”.

Nader G. Khaligh received his Ph.D. from the University of Guilan, Iran, in 2013. Since 2015 he is a Senior Researcher of the Nanotechnology & Catalysis Research Center, Universiti Malaya, Malaysia. His publications, including papers, reviews, and mini-reviews, are focused on heterogeneous and homogeneous catalysis, sustainable chemistry and energy, heterocycles, and multi-task reagents. ‎ He has been elected as World's Top 2% Scientist Career-Long Citation ‎Impact and World's Top 2% Scientists by Stanford University in 2019. His paper has been elected as Chines Chemical Letter Excellent paper in 2017. He has been involved in many national and international industrial projects. Dr. Ye He is currently the Director of Live Imaging and Bioenergetics Facility, Co-Director of MALDI-TOF MS Imaging Facility and Research Assistant Professor of Neuroscience at CUNY Advanced Science Research Center (ASRC) in New York. Dr. He received her Ph.D. in Molecular Genetics, Microbiology & Immunology from the UMDNJ and Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey, where she studied developmental myelination regulated by transcription factor YY1. She continued her postdoctoral training in Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York where her research focused on the transcriptional and epigenetic control of peripheral myelination. She joined ASRC from the UCSF Department of Physiology, where she was an HHMI Research Associate working with Dr.YuhNung Jan to investigate the function of ion channels in gentle touch mechano-sensation and brain tumors. Her previous works have been published on top journals including Nature, Advanced Materials, Cell Metabolism, and Nature Neuroscience. Dr. Ye He’s current research interests are employing advanced interdisciplinary imaging platform including super-resolution live imaging, two-photon imaging,EM, AFM and MALDI MS imaging to study: 1) dynamic changes at the cellular level in pathological conditions such as brain tumor; 2) metabolic regulation during development and disease; 3) functional interactions between nanomaterials and biological system.

Dr. Vaishali Kapoor joined the faculty at Washington University in 2019 after completing her postdoctoral research in Dr. Dennis Hallahan’s lab at the Department of Radiation Oncology at Washington University. Dr. Kapoor earned her Ph.D from the All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi. Her research involves development of novel drug candidates against radiation-inducible neo-antigens. Radiation treatment induces cell-surface expression of novel intracellular proteins. These surface expressed proteins can then be targeted using peptides and monoclonal antibodies for cancer imaging and therapy. Dr. Kapoor’s aim is to identify and characterize the lead peptide and antibody which can be used for pre-clinical efficacy studies and then be extended to the clinic.

Eda Alemdar was born Erzurum in Turkey. She is a student at the V.N. Kharkiv Karazin University Medicine Faculty, Ukraine.

Mr. Gu has completed his Master degree from the Institute of Metal Research, CAS, China. He worked at the same institute as a research assistant for two years. Currently, he is completing his PhD at Rutgers University, USA, under supervision of co-PIs including Prof. Charles Dismukes, Prof. Leonard Feldman and Prof. Eric Garfunkel. His research covers deformation behaviors of nanoparticles, electron-atom interactions, electrochemical and photoelectrochemical catalysis and interface chemistry and physics in semiconductors. He has published 3 first-author papers and more than 20 co-author papers in reputed journals. Two more first-author papers are under review, among which one was reviewed by Science. He served as a reviewer for multiple high-impact journals.

Dr. Berardi is an Associate Professor at Ryerson University, in Toronto (Ontario, Canada). His main research interests and contributions are related to the study of building systems that incorporate new materials for improved performance. In the first years of his career, Dr. Berardi often worked on natural materials for acoustic applications and on sustainable design through natural materials. Recently, he has been focusing on integrating innovative materials, or nanotechnologies into building systems, such as organic PCMs and granular and monolithic aerogel. Dr. Berardi has an extensive publication record for his career stage, including over 60 peer-reviewed journals, 60 international conference papers, and three books. Dr. M.A. Shah working in National Institute of Technology Srinagar and has doctorial degree in Condensed Matter Physics. During his 20 years of academic career within India and outside, he has published as many as 100 SCI research articles, covering the contemporary developments of Nanotechnology. In addition, he has authored two text books on Nanoscience with reputed publishers, edited three books on different aspects of nanotechnology and number of articles on current issues including on New Education Policy. Dr. Shah had a honour to work with prominent scientists both within and outside country and was honoured on many occasions for his dedicated work. He has been awarded a project by the Ministry of Science & Technology, New Delhi for developing Nanotechnology Laboratory at NIT Srinagar, besides receiving Rs. 100.00 Lakhs from TEQP for commissioning Scanning Electron Microscope. Hossam Tayeb is currently a vice director of the Centre of Innovation in Personalized Medicine (CIPM), King Abdulaziz University (KAU).
