Gene Stanley was born in Oklahoma City and obtained his B.A. in physics at Wesleyan University in 1962. He performed biological physics research with Max Delbrueck in 1963 (funded by a Fulbright in Germany) and was awarded the Ph.D. in physics at Harvard in 1967 after completing a thesis on critical phenomena in magnetic systems under the guidance of T. A. Kaplan and J. H. Van Vleck. Stanley was a Miller Fellow at Berkeley with C. Kittel, where he wrote an Oxford monograph, INTRODUCTION TO PHASE TRANSITIONS AND CRITICAL PHENOMENA, which won the Choice Award for Outstanding Academic Book of 1971. He was appointed Assistant Professor of Physics at MIT in 1969 and was promoted to Associate Professor in 1971. He was appointed Herman von Helmholtz Associate Professor in 1973 in recognition of his interdepartmental teaching and research with the Harvard-MIT Program in Health Sciences and Technology. In 1976 Stanley joined Boston University as Professor of Physics and Associate Professor of Physiology (in the School of Medicine). In 1978 and 1979, he was promoted to Professor of Physiology and University Professor, respectively. In 2007 he was offered joint appointments with the Chemistry and Biomedical Engineering Departments. He is currently honorary professor at the Institute for Advanced Studies, University of Pavia, and at Eotvos Lorand University, Budapest. Stanley works in collaboration with students and colleagues attempting to understand puzzles of interdisciplinary science. His main current focus is understanding the anomalous behavior of liquid water in bulk, nanoconfined, and biological environments. He has also worked on a range of other topics in complex systems, such as quantifying correlations among the constituents of the Alzheimer brain, and quantifying fluctuations in noncoding and coding DNA sequences, interbeat intervals of the healthy and diseased heart. Stanley has been elected to the US National Academy of Sciences, the Brazilian Academy of Sciences, and is an Honorary Member of the Hungarian Physical Society and an Honorary Professor at Eotvos Lorand University (Budapest). Stanley received the Boltzmann Medal, given by the International Union of Pure and Applied Physics (IUPAP), and the Teresiana Medal in Complex Systems Research given by the University of Pavia. He also received the “Distinguished Teaching Scholar” Director’s Award from the National Science Foundation, the APS Nicholson Medal for Human Outreach, a Guggenheim Memorial Fellowship, the David Turnbull Prize, a BP Venture Research Award, the Floyd K. Richtmyer Memorial Lectureship Award, the Memory Ride Award for Alzheimer Research, and the Massachusetts Professor of the Year awarded by the Council for Advancement and Support of Education. He has received five Doctorates Honoris Causa, from Bar-Ilan University, Eotvos Lorand University (Budapest), The University of Liege, The University of Dortmund, and The University of Wroclaw. Stanley has served as thesis advisor to 96 Ph.D. candidates at MIT and Boston University, and has worked with 106 research associates. With Nicole Ostrowsky, Stanley co-founded a series of NATO Advanced Study Institutes in interdisciplinary physics in Cargese (in 1985, 1988, and 1990), he co-directed the 1996, 2003, and 2009 Enrico Fermi Schools of Physics on Complex Systems, and he chaired the 1998 Gordon Conference on Water and the 1986 IUPAP International Conference on Statistical Mechanics, Statphys16. Stanley serves on the International Jury for the 500,000 euro “Women in Science” L’Oreal-UNESCO Prize. He is chair of the NAS/Keck Futures Initiative on Complexity, and is an active member of the NAS Committee Forefronts of Science at the Interface of Physical and Life Sciences, charged with finding ways for fostering useful collaborations between physicists and life scientists, He also serves on two NAS committees concerned with threat networks and threatened networks.

Professor Chenguang Yang is the leader of Robot Teleoperation Group and Professor of Robotics at Bristol Robotics Laboratory, UK. He received the Ph.D. degree from the National University of Singapore, Singapore, in 2010, and postdoctoral training in human robotics from the Imperial College London, London, U.K. He was awarded UK EPSRC UKRI Innovation Fellowship (2018) and individual EU Marie Curie International Incoming Fellowship (2011). He is supervisor of an H2020 Marie Sklodowska-Curie Standard European Fellow (2021-2022). As lead author, he won the IEEE Transactions on Robotics Best Paper Award (2012) and IEEE Transactions on Neural Networks and Learning Systems Outstanding Paper Award (2022). He was titled Highly Cited Researcher 2019 by Web of Science. He is a Fellow of British Computer Society and a Fellow of Higher Education Academy. He serves as Associate Editors of a number of international top journals including Neurocomputing and seven IEEE Transactions.

Hwai Chyuan Ong is faculty member of Centre for Green Technology, Faculty of Engineering and Information Technology, University of Technology Sydney, Australia. His research interests are wide-ranging under the general umbrella of renewable energy system and his main interests are energy & fuel, green technology & environmental sustainability, solar thermal system, and energy efficiency & policy. He has published more than 200 high impact SCI journal papers with H-index 50 (WOS). And, he is invited and delivered several keynote, plenary and invited talks at international conferences. He is listed as Highly Cited Researcher (Engineering) by Clarivate Analytics in 2020 & 2019. Dr. Goldenberg is the founder of the field of Robotics at University of Toronto where he has been since 1982 as a Professor of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering, cross appointed in the Institute of Biomaterials & Biomedical Engineering, and in the Electrical and Computer Engineering. He is currently a Professor Emeritus. Dr. Goldenberg is also an Adjunct Professor at Ryerson University and Guest Professor at Nanjing University of Science and Technology, P.R. China. Dr. Goldenberg has supervised to-date 49 PhD and 74 MASc. He has an exceptional publication record with over 10500 citations (128 archival journal papers, 325 papers in major conferences, 15 book chapters and 115 patents granted and applied). From 1975 - 1981 Dr. Goldenberg has been an employee of SPAR Aerospace Ltd., of Toronto, where he worked on the development of the first Space Shuttle Remote Manipulator System (Canadarm). Dr. Goldenberg is the founder and President of Engineering Services Inc. (ESI) - www.esit.com, established in 1982. ESI is a high-technology company involved in the development of robotics-based automation and technology. Under his leadership the company has achieved significant growth and a global leading role in a wide range of industrial sectors. From 2000-2001 Dr. Goldenberg was also the President of Virtek Engineering Science Inc. (VESI), a high-technology company formed with the acquisition of part of ESI by Virtek Vision International Ltd., a publicly listed company. Dr. Goldenberg is also President of Anviv Mechatronics Inc. (AMI), which he founded in 2006. Anviv is a hightechnology company involved in the development of mechatronics products. In May 2015 ESI has been acquired by a Chinese consortium located in Shenzhen, P.R. China. Dr. Goldenberg has continued to be the President of ESI after the acquisition until the Chinese consortium became a public company in November 2016 listed in Hong Kong and Dr. Goldenberg was appointed as Chief Technology Officer of the public company. He terminated this appointment on May 12, 2019. As of May 2019, Dr. Goldenberg has returned to the University on part-time basis to work on graduate research in the use of Artificial Intelligence in advanced Robotics, focusing on Personal Service Robots. He also continues his business activities in several ventures in this domain through Anviv Mechatronics Inc., the company he founded in 2006. Dr. Goldenberg is a Life Fellow of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, Inc. McNaughton Gold Medal for Exemplary Contributions to the Engineering Profession, and 2018 Honorary PhD from the Technion, Israel Institute of Technology. Dr. Goldenberg is a former editor of the archival international journal IEEE Transactions on Robotics and Automation, and a member of the editorial boards of Robotica, Robotics in Japan, Journal of Robotics, Robotics Journal, Scientific World Journal, Industrial Engineering and Management Journal, SOJ Robotics and Automation and International Journal of Automation and Computing. Dr. Goldenberg obtained his PhD in 1976 from the University of Toronto, and his MSc and BSc degrees from the Technion, Israel Institute of Technology, in 1969 and 1972, respectively. Dr. Goldenberg was born in Bucharest, Romania.

Professor Ji Wang has been a Qianjiang Fellow Professor of Zhejiang Province at Ningbo University since 2002. He also served as Associate Dean for Research and Graduate, School of Mechanical Engineering and Mechanics, Ningbo University, from 2013 to 2019. Professor Ji Wang is the founding director of the Piezoelectric Device Laboratory, which is a designated Key Laboratory of City of Ningbo. Professor Ji Wang was employed at SaRonix, Menlo Park, CA, as a senior engineer from 2001 to 2002; NetFront Communications, Sunnyvale, CA, as senior engineer and manager from 1999 to 2001; Epson Palo Alto Laboratory, Palo Alto, CA, as Senior Member of Technical Staff from 1995 to 1999. Professor Ji Wang also held visiting positions at Chiba University, University of Nebraska-Lincoln, and Argonne National Laboratory. He received his PhD and Master degrees from Princeton University in 1996 and 1993 and bachelor from Gansu University of Technology in 1983. Professor Wang has been working on acoustic waves and high frequency vibrations of elastic and piezoelectric solids for resonator design and analysis with several US and Chinese patents, over 120 journal papers, and frequent invited, keynote, and plenary presentations in major conferences around world. He has been board members, advisors, and consultants to many leading companies in acoustic wave device industry. Professor Wang has been a member of many international conference committees and currently serving the IEEE UFFC Technical Program Committees of the Frequency Control and Ultrasonics Symposia, the IEEE MTT-S, and the IEC TC-49. He is also the funding chair of Committee on Mechanics of Electronic and Magnetic Devices, CSTAM, and the SPAWDA. From 2015, Profess Wang is the editor-in-chief of Structural Longevity and members of the editorial boards of several international journals.

Dr. Xin Jiang is a full professor and holder of the Chair of Surface and Materials Technology at University of Siegen (Siegen, Germany) since 2003. His habilitation and PhD degree were conducted in 1998 at Technical University of Braunschweig, Germany and in 1990 at the RWTH Aachen University, Germany, respectively. Prof. Jiang received the award “State Specially Recruited Expert” of China in 2013 and was a Changjiang-Visiting Chair Professor at Dalian University and Science and Technology, China. His current research fields cover the growth and applications of thin functional films, Nanomaterial as well as materials characterization. Currently a fellow of ASME, ASCE, EMI and HKIE, Ir Professor Lim received BEng from University of Technology of Malaysia, MEng and PhD from National University of Singapore and Nanyang Technological University, respectively. Prior to joining City University of Hong Kong, he was a post-doctoral research fellow at The University of Queensland and The University of Hong Kong. Professor Lim has expertise in theory of plates and shells, dynamics of smart piezoelectric structures, nonlinear dynamics, nanomechanics, symplectic elasticity and metamaterials. He is one of the editors for JoMMS, Assoc Editor for JVET, IJBC, JTS, Subject Editor for AMM, JSV, and on the editorial board of some top-ranked international journals. He has published one very well-selling title in Engineering Mechanics entitled “Symplectic Elasticity”, co-authored with W.A. Yao and W.X. Zhong, as recorded in April 2010 by the publisher, World Scientific. He has published more than 330 international journal papers, accumulated about 12,000 citations and has a Google Scholar H-index 56. One of his papers that generalizes two separate models, the nonlocal elasticity and strain gradients, to a generalized nonlocal strain gradient theory has been cited more than 600 times since it was first published in JMPS in 2015. It is also a highly cited paper in the journal. Another paper was granted the IJSS 2004-2008 most cited article award. He was also awarded Top Referees in 2009, Proc. A, The Royal Society. Professor Lim is a registered professional engineer in HK. He holds one registered finite element software and three patents. Hamid Reza Karimi is currently Professor of Applied Mechanics with the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Politecnico di Milano, Milan, Italy. His original research and development achievements span a broad spectrum within the topic of modeling, control, and fault diagnosis to complex systems with applications such as wind turbine, vehicles, robotics. He is author or editor of several books published on the topics of offshore mechatronics, health monitoring of wind turbines, offshore robotics, etc.Prof. Karimi is serving as Chief Editor, Subject Editor, Technical Editor or Associate Editor for some International Journals and Book Series. Dr Chua Kian Jon, Ernest is currently an Associate Professor with the Department of Mechanical Engineering, National University of Singapore. He has been conducting research on fundamental and applied thermal engineering since 1997. He has conducted both modelling and experimental works for specific building HVAC applications. These include dehumidification/dehydration, cooling, heat pumping, compact heat exchangers and refined temperature/humidity control. He is highly skilled in designing; fabricating; commissioning and testing many experimental test-rigs for heating, cooling and humidity control for both small and large scale applications. Pr. Patrick Tabeling is leader of the group MMN (Microfluidics MEMS and Nanostructures), a prominent team in the field of microfluidics. He is the cofounder of the startup MicroFactory and Minos Biotech (raising 2 M€ in 2020). He occupied various positions at the University: visiting researcher in Chicago University (1984-1985), Chargé/Directeur de Recherches CNRS in the Department of Physics in ENS (1985-2001), visiting professor to UCLA, Directeur de Recherches/Professor at ESPCI. Len Gelman, PhD, Dr. of Sciences (Habilitation)joined Huddersfield University as a Professor, Chair in Signal Processing/Condition Monitoring and Director of Centre for Efficiency and Performance Engineering,in 2017 from Cranfield University, where he worked as Professor and Chair in Vibro-Acoustical Monitoring since 2002. Len developed novel condition monitoring technologies for aircraft engines, gearboxes, bearings, turbines and centrifugal compressors. Soshu Kirihara is a doctor of engineering and a professor of Joining and Welding Research Institute (JWRI), Osaka University, Japan. In his main investigation “Materials Tectonics” for environmental improvements of “Geotechnology”, multi-dimensional structures were successfully fabricated to modulate energy and materials flows effectively. Ceramic and metal components were fabricated directly by smart additive manufacturing, design, and evaluation (Smart MADE) using high-power ultraviolet laser lithography. Original stereolithography systems were developed and a new start-up company “SK-Fine” was established through academic-industrial collaboration.

For almost 30 years I have been researching mechanical gears especially, gears with timing belts. I am the author of almost two hundred scientific publications and many patent studies. I have performed with scientific papers in many European countries, USA, China, Brazil, Mexico and Chile etc.. I am also the author of specialized production technologies that allow the production of advanced mechatronic belts.

Dr. Anjali Awasthi is Professor and Concordia University Research Chair (Tier-II) in Connected Sustainable Mobility Systems at Concordia Institute for Information Systems Engineering (CIISE), in Concordia University, Montreal. She received a PhD in industrial engineering and automation from INRIA Rocquencourt and University of Metz, France and a Masters in Industrial and Management Engineering from IIT Kanpur, India. Prior to Concordia, Dr. Awasthi worked at University of British Columbia and University of Laval where she was involved in several projects on industrial applications of operations research. In France, she was involved in many European projects aimed at improving urban mobility in cities, city logistics and on cybernetic transportation systems. Her areas of research are modeling and simulation, data mining, Information Technology and decision making, sustainable logistics planning, quality assurance in supply chain management and sustainable supply chain management. She is currently serving as the Education Chair for CORS (Canadian Operations Research Society), a senior member of ASQ (American Society for Quality), associate of LSRC (Loyola Sustainability Research Center), and regular member of CIRRELT (Centre Interuniversitaire de Recherche sur les Reseauxd'Entreprise, la Logistique et le Transport). She is also the recipient of Eldon Gunn service award (CORS 2018, Halifax) and IEOM Special Recognition Award (4th North American Conference on Industrial Engineering and Operations Management, Toronto, 2019).

Doctor Mark James Jackson is the McCune and Middlekauff Endowed Professor and University Faculty Fellow at Kansas State University. Born in Widnes, Lancashire, England, in 1967, Doctor Jackson began his engineering career in 1983 when he studied O.N.C. part I examinations and first-year apprenticeship-training course in mechanical engineering. After gaining an Ordinary National Diploma in Engineering with distinctions and I.C.I. prize for achievement, he studied a degree in mechanical and manufacturing engineering at Liverpool Polytechnic and spent periods in industry working for I.C.I. Pharmaceuticals and ICI Chemicals and Polymers, Unilever Industries, Anglo Blackwells, BREL/Ricardo, Leyland Bus, Rolls-Royce, Rio Tinto Zinc, Unicorn International and Saint-Gobain Corporation. After graduating with the Master of Engineering (M. Eng.) degree with Distinction under the supervision of Professor Jack Schofield, M.B.E., Doctor Jackson subsequently conducted research for the Doctor of Philosophy (Ph. Dr. Yucheng Liu (PhD, PE, FASME, FSAE) currently serves as the Department Head of Mechanical Engineering (ME) Department at South Dakota State University (SDSU) and holds the Duane Sander Professor of Entrepreneurial Engineering in the Jerome J. Lohr College of Engineering at SDSU. Prior to joining SDSU in the fall of 2021, Dr. Liu was an Associate/Full Professor in the ME Department at Mississippi State University (MSU) since the fall of 2014. Dr. Zhendong Dai, Professor, director, and founder of the Institute of Bio-inspired Structure and Surface Engineering (IBSS) at Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics (NUAA), a fellow of International Society of Bionic Engineering. Cesare Molfese is a staff researcher at the Italian National Institute of Astrophysics (INAF). He obtained the master degree in electronic engineering at the Federico II University in Naples, Italy, and he had been working for fifteen years with industrial companies, in the field of technology for scientific research. She participated in courses on NLP in the frame of Erasmus+ at Coruna University (2018), at Adam Mickiewicz University (2019), at Vitautas Magnus University in Lithuania by financed “El-yurt umidi” foundation. Moreover, she was owner diploma for the nomination “The best software and database for computer technology” by the Women Committee of Uzbekistan, Center of women Inventors of Uzbekistan incorporation with Korea Women inventors Association (2020), she also the winner for her project “Multifunctional linguistic platform of Uzbek language” at the competition by held Ministry of innovation technologies of Uzbekistan on the direction of innovation technologies (2021).
