Prof. Neal Tai-Shung Chung is a Jade Chair professor at Graduate Institute of Applied Science and Technology, National Taiwan University of Science and Technology (NTUST), Taiwan. Before joining NTUST, he was a Provost’s Chair Professor at the ChBE dept of National University of Singapore (NUS). His research focuses on polymeric membranes for clean water, clear air, clear energy and pharmaceutic separation. In 2005-2008, he worked as a Senior Consultant for Hyflux, led and built its membrane research team. He became a Fellow in the Academy of Engineering Singapore in 2012 and received IChemE (Institute of Chemical Engineers, UK) Underwood Medal for exceptional research in separations and Singapore President’s Technology Award in 2015. He was a highly cited researcher in Chemical Engineering & Materials Science and Engineering by the Elsevier and Shanghai Global Ranking in 2016 and received Distinction Award in Water Reuse and Conservation from International Desalination Association (IDA) in 2016. He was also a highly cited researcher from Clarivate Analytics in 2018 and 2019.His H-index =110 (Scopus) or 130 (Google Scholar) and citations > 48194 (Scopus) and > 62,290 (Google Scholar) (June 18, 2021). He is an editorial board member of more than 20 journals including J. Membrane Science, Env. Sci. & Tech., AIChE J, Separation & Purification Tech., I&EC Research, Membranes and many others.

Professor Yusuke Yamauchi received his Bachelor's degree (2003), Master's degree (2004), and Ph.D. degree (2007) from the Waseda University, Japan. After receiving his Ph.D., he joined the National Institute of Materials Science (NIMS), Japan, to start his own research group. At the same time, he started to serve as an adjunct professor to supervise Ph.D. students at the Department of Nanoscience and Nanoengineering, Waseda University. After being granted the ARC Future Fellowship, in May 2016, he joined the Institute for Superconducting & Electronic Materials (ISEM), the Australian Institute for Innovative Materials (AIIM), the University of Wollongong (UOW) as a Professor. In 2018, he moved to the University of Queensland (UQ). Presently, he is a Senior Group Leader at the Australian Institute for Bioengineering and Nanotechnology (AIBN) (on secondment from the School of Chemical Engineering until 2026), a Professor at the School of Chemical Engineering, and a Director at the Australian Materials nanoTectonic Centre. He concurrently serves as an ERATO Research Director at the JST-ERATO Yamauchi Materials Space-Tectonics, a Group Leader at the Mesoscale Materials Chemistry Group, the International Center for Materials Nanoarchitectonics (WPI-MANA), the National Institute for Materials Science (NIMS), a Visiting Professor at the Waseda University, an Advisory Board Member of prestigious journals (Small, Small Structures, ChemCatChem, J. Inorg. Organomet. Polym. Mater., etc.), and an Associate Editor of the Journal of Materials Chemistry A published by the Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC) and Chemical Engineering Journal (Elsevier). He has published more than 850 papers in international refereed journals (>10 Nature's and Science's sister journals, >20 J Am Chem Soc, >10 ACS Nano, >10 Chem Sci, >30 Angew Chem Int Ed, >25 Chem Mater, >10 Mater Hor, etc.) with > 50,000 citations (h-index > 115, Google Scholar; h-index > 100 Web-of-Science). He is selected as one of the Highly-Cited Researchers in Chemistry in 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, and 2020 and in Materials Science in 2020. He has received many outstanding awards, such as the NISTEP Award by the National Institute of Science and Technology Policy (2016), the Chemical Society of Japan (CSJ) Award for Young Chemists (2014), the Young Scientists' Prize of the Commendation for Science and Technology by MEXT (2013), the PCCP Prize by the Royal Society of Chemistry (2013), the Tsukuba Encouragement Prize (2012), the Ceramic Society of Japan (CerSJ) Award (2010), and the Inoue Research Award for Young Scientists (2010). Recently, he was selected as one of Australia's Top 40 Researchers of Research Report published by The Australian in 2019 and 2020.

Vladimir Torchilin got his M.S, Ph.D., and D.Sc. degrees from the Moscow State University and serves currently a University Distinguished Professor and Director, Center for Pharmaceutical Biotechnology and Nanomedicine, Northeastern University, Boston. He has published more than 450 original papers, more than 200 reviews and book chapters, wrote and edited 13 books, and holds more than 40 patents. Google Scholar shows more than 77,000 citations of his papers with H-index of 126. He is a member of the European Academy of Sciences and Editor-in-Chief of Current Drug Discovery Technologies, and Drug Delivery, Co-Editor of Current Pharmaceutical Biotechnology and on the Editorial Boards of many other journals. He received more than $20 M from the governmental and industrial sources in research funding. He has multiple honors and awards and in 2011, Times Higher Education ranked him number 2 among top world scientists in pharmacology for the period of 2000-2010.

Soyeon Kim received her Ph.D. degree in Chemical & Biomolecular Engineering from Yonsei University, Korea in 2017. She is a senior researcher of Energy and Electronic Materials Center at the Korea Institute of Materials Science (KIMS), Korea. Her main research interests are in organic materials including synthesis and applications for energy and electronic devices.

Dong Chan Lim received his Ph.D. degree in Cluster Physics from Konstanz University, Germany in 2007. He is a head of Nano Technology Innovation Center and principal researcher of the Energy and Electronic Materials Center at the Korea Institute of Materials Science (KIMS), Korea. His main research interests are in photovoltaics and related materials, such as quantum clusters and transparent electrodes, functional thin films. In addition, his research interests include photoelectrochemical devices and hybrid energy conversion materials to create clean and sustainable energy and water.

Dr. Leon Shaw is the Rowe Family Endowed Chair Professor in Sustainable Energy and Professor of Materials Science and Engineering at Illinois Institute of Technology, Chicago, USA. His research interest is in novel materials synthesis and processing for Li-ion batteries, Na-ion batteries, redox flow batteries, hydrogen storage materials and structural applications. He was named as “Illinois Researchers to Know” in 2020 by Illinois Science and Technology Coalition and received an Energy Award in 2018 presented by International Association of Advanced Materials. He has authored more than 300 publications in materials synthesis and processing for energy storage and structural applications with 11,000+ citations, h-index of 56, and i10-index of 185 (according to Google Scholar). Among these 300+ publications 214 are journal articles and invited chapters for books and encyclopedias. He is a Member of EU Academy of Sciences, a Fellow of ASM International, a Fellow of International Association of Advanced Materials, a Fellow of World Academy of Materials and Manufacturing Engineering, and a Member of the Connecticut Academy of Science and Engineering.

Ming Zheng obtained his Ph.D. degree in Materials Physics and Chemistry from Shanghai Institute of Ceramics, Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2015. After working at National University of Singapore, The University of Hong Kong, and The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, Dr. Zheng was awarded Japan Society for The Promotion of Science (JSPS) Fellowship in the field of multiferroics and joined the Department of Physics in Nagoya University, Japan, in 2018. In 2019, he was invited to join China University of Mining and Technology as a faculty member through high-end talents program. His current research interests include functional (multiferroic, ferroelectric, magnetic and luminescent) thin-film materials and devices. He has authored or co-authored more than 30 papers published in international reputed journals including NPG Asia Mater. (2), Adv. Funct. Mater., Nano Energy, ACS Appl. Mater. Interfaces (2), J. Mater. Chem. C, Appl. Phys. Lett. (8), Phys. Rev. Applied (2), Phys. Rev. B. The paper published on Phys. Rev. Applied (2018) was selected as key scientific article by Advanced in Engineering (AIE), a famous global science and technology media organization. He also served as an Editorial Board Member for the journals Current Applied Materials, Current Chinese Science, and the referee for well-known journals, such as NPG Asia Mater., ACS Appl. Mater. Interfaces, J. Mater. Chem. C, Adv. Electron. Mater., Appl. Mater. Today, etc.

Dr. GuohuaXie obtained his Ph.D. degree of Microelectronics and Solid-State Electronics from Jilin University (China) in 2011.Afterwards, hecarried out his postdoctoral research at TU Dresden (Germany), sponsored by Alexander von Humboldt Foundation.From 2013 to 2015, he worked for an interdisciplinary project funded by Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC, UK) at the Organic Semiconductor Center of the University of St Andrews. In January 2015, he joined Wuhan University (China) to carry out the interdisciplinary research on organic optoelectronics.In 2020, he was admitted as a Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry. Dr. Xie has coauthored over 180 peer-reviewed publications and served as a guest editor for “Frontiers in Chemistry” and “Molecules”, respectively. He focuses on the interdisciplinary research of organic optoelectronics.

Anca Mazare studied Chemical Engineering and her Master degree in Biocompatible Substances, Materials and Systems both at Politechnica University of Bucharest, Romania, and received her Ph.D. in Chemistry from Politechnica University of Bucharest, Romania, in 2012 under the supervision of Prof. I. Demetrescu. She joined the group of Prof. P. Schmuki at the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg, Germany, in 2012 as a postdoctoral fellow. Her scientific activity comprises synthesis and modification of semiconductor nanomaterials for biomedical and energy-related applications. She has published 72 papers in international journals or chapters in books, has an h-index of 27, more than 2500 citations and had extensive oral presentation/invited talks at international conferences.
