Michael E. McHenry has expertise in soft magnetic nano-composites for power and energy applications. He studies field processing of materials, and structural and magnetic properties as a function of fields (magnetic, strain), temperature, and frequency. He directed a Multidisciplinary University Research Initiative (MURI) on high temperature magnetic materials for aircraft power applications. He led an ARPA-E program on magnetic materials for power electronics and worked more than 15 years with Magnetics, Inc., PA before transitioning technologies to NASA Glenn and Fort Wayne Metals, Indiana. He was a 2013 IEEE Distinguished Lecturer; 2014 TMS Awardee for Research Excellence in Electronic, Magnetic and Photonic Materials Research; and was subject the 2016 TMS Symposium in Honor of M. E. McHenry. He was technical evaluator for the NATO AVT-231 Meeting: Scarcity of Rare Earth Materials for Electrical Power Systems, Brussels, Belgium (Oct. 2014), and continues to advise Rare Earth scarcity. He was a 2016/17 NATO Series Lecturer on Rare Earth Criticality. He served as the General Chair, Editor, Publication Chair, and on Program Committees for the Magnetism and Magnetic Materials and Intermag Conferences. He has more than 350 publications with over 11,000 citations. McHenry co-authored the text “Structure of Materials,” Cambridge University Press, 2007 and 2012, and has 5 patents in the field.

Dr. Arcady P. Zhukov graduated in 1980 from the Moscow Steel and Alloys Institute (presently National University of Science and Technology), received Ph.D. degree from the Institute of Solid State Physics (Chernogolovka) of the Russian Academy of Science in 1988 and Doctor of Science (habilitation) from Moscow State “Lomonosov” University – in 2010. Presently -Ikerbasque Research professor at the Department of the Materials Physics of the University of Basque Country, Spain. He has published more than 450 referred papers in the international journals (total number of citations of A. Zhukov’s papers, updated September 12, 2016: 5232, Citation H-index = 38). A. Zhukov chaired Donostia International Workshop on Energy, Materials, and Nanotechnology (DINEMN), (San Sebastián, September 2015), International workshop on magnetic wires (IWMW-7) en Ordizia (Gipuzkoa, 2-3 Julio 2015), co-chaired Donostia International Conference on Nanoscaled Magnetism (DICNMA), III Joint European Magnetic Symposia, organized and chaired few session of most important international conferences, gave above 50 invited talks at few international conferences. He is an associate Editor of IEEE Magnetic letters and International Journal on Smart Sensing and Intelligent Systems, member of several editorial boards and various committees of International Conferences, guest Editor of J. Magn. Magn. Mater, Phys. Stat. sol (A) and (C). A. Zhukov in collaboration with V. Zhukova wrote two books on magnetic properties and applications of glass-coated microwires, few book chapters (among them one for the Handbook of Magnetic Materials ed. by Prof. K. Buschow ), articles for the “Enciclopedia of NanoScience and Nanotechnology” and “Enciclopedia of Sensors”. Additionally Dr. A. Zhukov is the Editor of two books,. In 2000 A. Zhukov funded a spin-off company “TAMAG” involved in magnetic microsensors development. Most scientific activity is related to studies of magnetic properties of amorphous and nanocrystalline glass-coated microwires (typically of 1-30 micrometers in diameter) such as Giant Magnetoimpedance, GMI, effect and fast domain wall propagation.

During his professional career, Vince Harris has assumed a multiplicity of roles including engineer, scientist, inventor, educator, and entrepreneur. His professional preparation includes the Ph.D. (EE, NEU), M.Sc. (MSE, NEU), M.Sc. (Eng. Mgt., U. Md.), M.Eng. (Exec. Tech. Mgt., U. Penn, Wharton), and B.Sc. (ME, NEU) degrees. From 1990-1992, he was a National Research Council Fellow at the Naval Research Laboratory .His research interests encompass the development of a wide range of materials and their applications in RFmaterials and electronics, nanotechnologies, power electronics permanent magnets, and medical diagnostic and therapeutic technologies. He has published more than 400 peer-reviewed science and engineering articles, including book chapters, review articles, and technical feature articles that have been cited in the literature more than 16,000 times. Additionally, he holds 20 or more patents and patent applications. He has been recognized with international awards for scholarship including: Minerals, Metals and Materials Society, Distinguished Scientist Award; Lee Hsun Research Award for Seminal Contributions to Materials Science, Chinese Academy of Sciences; and asa Distinguished Lecturer of the IEEE. He has served as both a Fulbright Fellow and as a Jefferson Science Fellow. He has been elevated to Fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS), Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE), and American Physical Society (APS), among other professional societies of scholarship and distinction.

José Rivas is a Professor of Physics at the University of Santiago de Compostela, Spain (www.usc.es). His expertise is related to the preparation and characterization of nanostructured magnetic materials. Based on the research carried out at the USC, Rivas’ group created a high technology-based Spin Off Company called NANOGAP, (www.nanogap.es). The research and entrepreneurial efforts of Prof. Rivas, his collaborators and colleagues over the years have been widely recognized. He was the founding Director (2005-14) and responsible for the implementation of the INL-International Iberian Nanotechnology Laboratory, Braga, Portugal (http://inl.int/). He is an Elected Member of the Royal Galician Academy of Sciences and received the 2018 Salvador Velayos Award, conferred by the Spanish Magnetism Club. J. Rivas is the author of a variety of book chapters, twelve patents and more than four hundred articles.

He graduated in both Chemistry (1976) and Physics (1977) at the UnB. ProfessorDE MORAIS is member of the Brazilian Physical Society, American Chemical Society, and Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers - IEEE. He has conducted research on nanomaterials for over 35 years,served as referee for over 40 technical journals, takes part of the Editorial Board of 10 technical journals and presented more than 120 invited talks in more than 30 countries. He is known for his research in preparation, characterization and applications of nanoparticle-based materials. His current (Dec2020) metrics with Web of Science (Google Scholar) is H42 (H50), 476 (610) records and 7,130 (9,840) citations.

Kiyonori Suzuki is Professor of Materials Science and Engineering at Monash University. He received his PhD degree from the University of New South Wales (UNSW) where he also worked as a Queen Elizabeth II fellow. After this fellowship, he joined in the Faculty of Engineering at Monash University in 2002. His research areas include soft and hard magnetic properties of nanostructured materials and chemically-induced magnetism in metal nanoparticles and semiconductors.

Stéphane Bordas is the Chair of Computational Mechanics at the University of Luxembourg and at Cardiff University. His goal is to develop computational and data science methods that are common to a variety of problems in science and engineering. Since 2009 when he became a Professor at Cardiff, he has set up a multi-disciplinary team funded in part by the European Research Council, to develop data-driven methods and digital twins. One application of this work is the biomechanics of the brain and the development of surgical simulators. His PhD, awarded by Northwestern University, in 2004 was in theoretical and applied mechanics focusing on the growth of cracks and biofilms. His team was the first to propose real time error estimators in biomechanics, and has worked in areas ranging from computational archeology, science of science, sociology, farming, computational biomechanics, plasma, and fracture mechanics. He has supervised and mentored researchers from all around the world who have gone to continue pushing the boundaries of computational mechanics and worked interdisciplinarily in a variety of fields. Their work has been amongst the most cited in computer science and engineering for the past 6 years according to Clarivate Analytics. He is the Editor in Chief of numerous journals, including Advances in Applied Mechanics, which ranks among the top in Computational Mechanics in 2020. His team has attracted over 27 million in third party competitive funding since year 2006. He’s leading a group of over 30 researchers in Luxembourg and has collaborated with dozens of institutes worldwide and has a very close relationship to India, Taiwan and Vietnam, which he started working with as early as 2006. He has held visiting appointment in a dozen institutions worldwide. He is also the Chief Scientific Officer of the Startup Arianatech, a made-in-Luxembourg Startup focusing on Science as a Service since 2020 and helping companies and the public sector make the best of their research and development funds. Stéphane Bordas is the founding director of the Data and Computational Science Doctoral Programme at the university of Luxembourg, which is currently training about 50 PhD students at the interface between computational science, data science and applications ranging from social to neuroscience.

Dr. Hadimani an Associate Professor and the Director of Biomagnetics Laboratory at the Department of Mechanical and Nuclear Engineering of Virginia Commonwealth University. He has founded the IEEE Joint Magnetics and Engineering in Medicine and Biology Society’s Richmond Chapter and he is the current vice chair of the chapter. He is an Associate Editor of journals, Frontiers of Neuroscience and American Institute of Physics (AIP) Advances. Dr. Hadimani has a ‘first class’ honors degree in Mechanical Engineering from Kuvempu University, India, MS in Mechatronics from the University of Newcastle, UK and PhD in Electrical Engineering from Cardiff University, UK. He has served as a Project Scientist at the Institute of Materials Research and Innovation of the University of Bolton, UK. He was an Adjunct Assistant Professor and Associate Scientist at Iowa State University and was also an Associate of Ames Laboratory, US Dept. of Energy. Dr. Hadimani’s research focus is on biomagnetic materials and devices for biomedical applications, magnetocaloric refrigeration and energy harvesting. He has developed a hybrid piezoelectric and photovoltaic energy harvester which is capable of harvesting electrical energy from solar, wind and rain energy. This invention was awarded the UK Energy Innovation Award in 2011. Dr. Hadimani is also awarded the International Young Scientist Fellowship by National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) in 2013. He has authored more than 90 peer-reviewed journal publications, more than 190 international conference papers, 10 current and pending patents, several invited trade magazine articles, a book and 3 book chapters to date.

Prof. Tsepelev Vladimir was born in Yekaterinburg, Russia on January 10th, 1949. Received Doctor Degree in Metallurgy of Ferrous and non-ferrous metals from Boris Yeltzin Ural Federal University on 1998, with major field of study was Material Engineering, Amorphous and Nanocrystalline Materials. In 1998, as director Tsepelev Vladimir headed Research Center of Liquid Metal Physics. In 2000 he was Full Professor of Chair Health and Safety Department of Fundamental Education Boris Yeltzin Ural Federal University. In In 2002 he was elected an Academician of the Engineering Academy named after A.M. Prokhorov. His research interests cover subjects such as, waste recycle, metallurgy, composite, renewable energy, environmental friendly manufacturing, study the physical properties of liquid metal at high temperatures, the development of technologies for the production of amorphous and nanocrystalline soft magnetic materials with unique magnetic properties, the preparation of amorphous high-entropy solders. Tsepelev Vladimir has a Diploms of the winner of the international exhibitions and scientific competitions, the title of the Veteran of Labour, Diploma of the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation, Honorary Worker of higher school Russian Federation. Winner of the prize-medal named after Professor A.S. Popov. He was awarded the Orders of the first and second degree "A.M. Prokhorov". In 2020, he was awarded the Honorary Badge "Knight of Science and Art" of the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences.

Dr. Rui He obtained her B.S. degree from Fudan University in China in 1999. She received her Ph.D. degree in Applied Physics from Columbia University in the City of New York in 2006. After her graduation from Columbia, she joined the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology as a postdoc in the Physics Department. In 2009 she returned to Columbia University where she worked as a postdoctoral research scientist. She joined the Physics Department at the University of Northern Iowa as an assistant professor in August 2011 and became an associate professor in 2016. She joined the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department at Texas Tech University as an associate professor in July 2017. Her research interests include the general area of Raman studies of nanostructures, especially 2D materials and their heterostructures.

Dr.Tetsuo Endoh joined ULSI Research Center Toshiba Co. in 1987 and was engaged in the R&D and mass-production of NAND Memory. He became a lecturer at the Research Institute of Electrical Communication, Tohoku University in 1995. Now, He is a professor at the Graduate School of Engineering, Director of the Center for Innovative Integrated Electronic Systems (CIES)and Deputy director of the Center for Science and Innovation in Spintronics (CSIS) of Tohoku University. His current interests are advanced memory technology, 3D structure device, beyond-CMOS technology and low power processor technology such as 3D NAND memory, STT-/SOT-MRAM, Vertical GAA MOSFET, CMOS/Spintronics Hybrid circuit, Spintronics-based Non-Volatile Logic from IoT processor to AI processor, and so on. He is also interested in power-management technology, such as GaN on Si based power devices and power electronics from circuits to module/system for automotive applications and so on. He received the 14th Prime Minister’s Award for its Contribution to Industry-Academia-Government Collaboration in 2016.He received National Invention Award "the 21st century Encouragement of Invention Prize" for contribution to invention of 3D NAND memory in 2017.

Bertha Oliva Aguilar Reyes obtained her BEng. and MSc. from the Universidad Michoacana de San Nicolás de Hidalgo, México, and received her PhD degree from the Institut des Materiaux Jean Rouxel of the University of Nantes, France in 2004. She held two years (2005-2007) post-doc position with the Institut of Materials Research of UNAM. After 10 years working at the Institut of Geopyisics at UNAM, she joined the Institut of Materials Research of UNAM (2018) as Full Researcher and she is a member of the Mexican National System of Researchers (SNI) level II. She has published more than 40 scientific articles in indexed scientific journals, has participated in 37 congresses, and she has given more than 15 invited conferences at academic and scientific events. Currently, she is working about three lines of research: Synthesis and characterization of hybrid organic-inorganic compounds for photovoltaic cells, Synthesis and characterization of double perovskite compounds for spintronics, and Environmental Magnetism.

Dr. Dima Cheskis is a faculty member at the Physics Department at Ariel University, Israel. His research focuses on studying the fundamental and application properties of Weyl and Dirac semimetals. Dr. Dima Cheskis’s use for his research transport and magneto-optical techniques. Recently he developed a simple Hall measuring system with extremely low noise working in microampere regime. Also, he performed intensive research of single-layer deposited graphene oxide films, studying the distribution of functional oxygen groups with STM/HR-TEM methods. Dr. Dima Cheskis received his Ph.D. from Tel-Aviv University in 2006, where he performed ultrafast magnetic dynamic research performed on ferromagnetic materials. After that, he finished the postdoctoral studies in prof. EfratLifshitz group at Technion – Israel Institute of Technology in 2010, where his research focuses on photoluminescence spectroscopy of nanocrystal quantum dots.

Loi Ton That, Ph.D. is now an Assistant Professor at Department of Electrical Engineering, Tohoku University, Japan after receiving his Ph.D. from Akita University, Japan in 2019. He received Research Fellowship for Young Scientists (DC1) from Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS) from 2016 to 2019. His research is focused on synthesis of functionalized magnetic particles and their bio-applications, especially in the research and development of magnetic hyperthermia system for clinically-used cancer treatment.

Dr. Wei Chen obtained her Bachelor and Master's degree from Nanjing University, China in 2002 and 2005 respectively, and her PH.D degree in physics in 2011 from University of Washington in Seattle. She then became a postdoc fellow in McGill University in Canada. She joined the IAS in Tsinghua university as an associate fellow in 2014. In 2016, she moved to the department of physics in Nanjing University as an associate professor. Her main research interest is in strongly correlated systems and topological systems, focusing on the electronic, topological and transport properties as well as the phase transitions in such systems. She has published more than twenty research articles on various topics, such as 1D interacting systems, graphene, optomechanics and quantum spin liquid.

Prof Tchoula Tchokonte is an Associate professor in the Department of Physics and Astronomy at the University of the Western Cape, South Africa. He obtained his DEA in Theoretical Solid State Physics at the University of Yaounde, Cameroon, his MSc degree in Theoretical Solid State Physics and PhD degree in experimental Condensed Matter Physics at the University of the Witwatersrand, Johannesburg, South Africa. He is a member of the South African Institute of Physics (SAIP) and has been a regular Associate of the Abdu Salam International Centre for Theoretical Physics (ICTP), Trieste, Italy. His research on these compounds involves measurements, analysis and interpretation of transport and thermodynamic properties such as electrical resistivity, magnetoresistivity, thermoelectric power, thermal conductivity, magnetic susceptibility, magnetization, magnetocaloric effect and specific heat capacity over a broad range of temperature and magnetic fields. He has published several research papers in peer – reviewed research journals and presented his research finding and interpretations at several national and international conferences and workshops.

Pilar Marín Palacios Professor at the Complutense University of Madrid since 2021; Researcher at the Institute of Applied Magnetism since 1996 and Director of the Institute since October 2017. She is author of 105 scientific publications, 20 patents and director of 4 PhD theses. Her publications have 2071 citations with an h=24 index. Author of 20 granted patents, 6 of them in exploitation by two technology‐based companies created for this purpose. She has participated as an invited lecturer or as an oral speaker in about 20 International Conferences. Her work focuses on the magnetic properties of amorphous magnetic wires and microwires, nanocrystallization processes of amorphous magnetic materials, exchange interaction and magnetic sensors and biosensors. Professor Francisco Ricardo Cunha received the diploma in Mechanical Engineering from the Department of Mechanical Engineering, University of Brasília, Brazil, in 1986. In 1989, he received a M.S. degree in Mechanical Science from the University of Brasília, Brazil. Then at the Department of Applied Mathematics and Theoretical Physics of University of Cambridge - UK, he was conferred, in 1995, a Ph.D. degree in Fluid Mechanics of Hydrodynamic Dispersion in Suspension Flows. He did a Postdoctoral work at Yale University (1998-2000), where he was also a visiting Associate Professor of the Chemical Engineering Department, and also a Postdoctoral program at University of California in Santa Barbara - UCSB-USA (2013). He joined the University of Brasília in 1995, and is currently Professor of Fluid Mechanics and Applied Mathematics and a Researcher (PQ) of the National Council for Scientific and Technological Development – CNPq – Brazil since 1996. He is al so a CNPq's researcher level PQ 1, since 2000. Prof. Cunha’s current research interests are in Microhydrodynamics, Micro-Mechanics, Rheology of Complex Fluids and Hydrodynamic of Magnetic Fluids.
