Shi Xue Dou is a Distinguished Professor at the University of Wollongong, UOW Research Ambassador Asia and the founding director of Institute for Superconducting & Electronic Materials at UOW. He received his PhD at Dalhousie University, Canada in 1984, DSc at the University of New South Wales in 1998 and was elected as a Fellow of the Australian Academy of Technological Science and Engineering in 1994. He was awarded the Australian Government’s Centenary Medal in 2003 and Australian Order of Member in 2019 for his contribution to materials science and engineering, multiple Australian Professorial Fellowships from 1993 to 2011, the Vice-Chancellors Senior Excellence Award in 2008, Outstanding Partnership Award in 2012, the ASTS Lifetime Achievement Award in 2018, Lifetime Achiever by Australian Research Magazine in 2020 and the ICMC Lifetime Achievement Award in 2021. He is named as a highly cited researcher in materials science by Thomson Reuters since 2018 with citations of 61,000 and h-index of 127 (Scopus). Prof Dou focuses on energy and electronic materials. He has supervised and co-supervised 100 PhD students, more than 60 postdoctoral and visiting fellows. Atsushi Fujimori is a Professor Emeritus at the University of Tokyo, a Visiting Professor at Waseda University, and a Distinguished Visiting Scholar at National Synchrotron Radiation Research Center, Taiwan. He received his B.S., M.S., and D.Sc. degrees from the University of Tokyo in 1976, 1978, and 1981, respectively. He was a research scientist at National Institute for Research in Inorganic Materials, Tsukuba, Japan, between 1978-1988, and a visiting assistant professor at the University of Minnesota, USA, between 1984-1985. Dr. Sauro Succi holds a degree in Nuclear Engineering from the University of Bologna and a Ph.D. in Plasma Physics from the EPFL, Lausanne, Switzerland. He has held a research staff position at the IBM European Center for Scientific and Engineering Computing, Rome. Till 2018 he served as a Director of Research at the Istituto Applicazioni Calcolo of the Italian National Research Council in Rome and he is also a Research Associate of the Physics Department of Harvard University and a regular Visiting Professor at the Institute of Applied Computational Science at the School of Engineering and Applied Sciences of Harvard University. Since 2018 he is a Senior Research Executive and Principal Investigator at the Center for Life Nanosciences of the Italian Institute of Technology at La Sapienza, Rome. He has published extensively on a broad range of topics in computational physics, soft matter, and the interface between physics and biology. He is the author of the highly cited monograph ”The lattice Boltzmann equation for fluid dynamics and beyond”, (Oxford Univ. Press, 2001) and ”The Lattice Boltzmann Equation for Complex States of Flowing Matter” (OUP, 2018). Dr. Succi is an elected Fellow of the American Physical Society (1998), a member of the European Physical Society, and an elected member of the Academia Europaea (2015). He has received the Humboldt Prize in physics (2002), the Killam Award of the University of Calgary (2005), and the Raman Chair of the Indian Academy of Sciences (2011). In 2017, he has been awarded a European Research Council Advanced Grant on the computational design of mesoscale porous materials. He is also the recipient of the 2017 APS Aneesur Rahman Prize for Computational Physics for seminal contributions to the development and application of the Lattice Boltzmann Method and the 2019 Bernie J. Mukunda P Das is Honorary Professor in Theoretical Physics of the Australian National University. Mingdong Dong (MD) is currently working as a group leader at Bio-SPM group at Interdisciplinary Nanoscience Center (iNANO ), Aarhus University Denmark. He obtained his PhD degree in 2006 from Aarhus University, Denmark. Dr. Kun Zhou is an associate professor in the School of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore. He received his B.Eng. and M. Carlo Di Castro, Ph.D. in mathematical physics (Birmingham, 1964), is professor emeritus (Sapienza Roma) and member of the Accademia Nazionale dei Lincei. -He was awarded the Presidential Gold Medal for services to education and culture (2003), he received the Humboldt Research Award in recognition of his accomplishments in research and teaching (2004) and the title of Meritorious Memberof the Italian Physical Society (2015). -CDC served as a member of the IUPAP Condensed Matter Physics Commission (1993-1999), has organized and chaired several international conferences on statistical mechanics, many-body and condensed matter physics and served as a member of the program and advisory committee numerous times editing several proceedings. He has lectured in several postgraduate and international schools, has delivered over 120 invited talks in international conferences and co-authored over 160 scientific publications. His main research interest has been the understanding of collective properties of condensed matter and many body systems, the behaviour of which cannot be explained in terms of single particle schemes and whose low energy properties are qualitatively different from those of non-interacting systems. He has pioneered the renormalization group approach to critical phenomena, an approach he later extended to quantum Bose and anomalous Fermi-Luttinger liquids. He has made key contributions to the metal-insulator transition and to the theory of interacting disordered systems beyond Anderson localization. His proposal of a scenario of high temperature cuprate superconductors based on phase separation and Charge Density Wave quantum criticality was ahead of its time. Charge density wave is now ubiquitously observed in cuprates and is the most studied among the competing orders. Dr. Guodong (David) Zhan is currently a Science Specialist and the Team Leader of Drilling Technology Team at the Exploration & Petroleum Engineering Center - Advanced Research Center, Saudi Aramco. Dr. Zhan is a world-renowned materials scientist and expert in advanced drilling tools/technology. He has over 29 years of experience in industrial R&D and managerial positions, including positions as Chief Engineer and R&D Manager at top oil/gas and semiconductor global companies such as Schlumberger and Applied Materials. Additionally Dr. Zhan has held academic positions at the University of London and the University of Colorado at Boulder, and staff scientist positions at the Japan National Institute for Materials Science and Shanghai Institute of Ceramics, Chinese Academy of Science. Dr. Zhan is an active member of the Society of Petroleum Engineer (SPE), where he serves on several conferences as co-chair and technical committee member. Ravindra Pandey is Professor and Chair of Physics at the Michigan Technological University, Houghton, MI. Pandey received his education at Hari Singh Gaur University, Sagar, National Physical Laboratory, Delhi, Atomic Energy Research Laboratory, Harwell, UK, and University of Manitoba, Winnipeg, Canada. He has participated in multi-disciplinary efforts (theoretical and experimental) to build the programs in novel nanostructures and the application of chalcopyrite semiconductors as the next generation optoelectronic materials with industrial and national laboratories and is the author of more than 150 publications. He also has co-organized and participated in several international conferences in Materials Physics and Nanoscale Science. Pandey is a Fellow of the American Physical Society.

Manish Verma started his PhD in 2017 in the group of Prof. Dr. Rossitza Pentcheva at the University of Duisburg-Essen, Duisburg, Germany, and is awaiting his defense. He earned his M.Sc. in physics from Thapar University, India in 2015. In 2016, he worked as a pre-PhD researcher at Thapar University in collaboration with Dr. Volker Eyert at Materials Design, S.A.R.L., France. His research focuses mainly on the electronic, magnetic, and thermoelectric properties of transition metal oxide superlattices and surfaces using state-of-the-art density functional theory and beyond.

Dr. Satoshi Ejima obtained his PhD degree in 2006 at the University of Marburg, Germany. After working as Postdoc, he moved to University of Greifswald (UG), Germany in 2008. He received his habilitation in 2017 and is working now as a senior researcher at the UG and a visiting researcher at RIKEN (Japan). His research interests are focused on the theoretical investigations of strongly-correlated quantum many-body systems, such as electron-phonon coupled systems and models with Hubbard-type interactions, with an emphasis on new emergent phenomena not only in thermal equilibrium but also in nonequilibrium and driven situations.

Masataka Matsumoto has completed his Ph.D from Chuo University in 2020. He is the postdoctoral researcher at Shanghai University.He is working on the application of the gauge/gravity duality to condensed matter physics, especially non-equilibrium systems and phase transitions.

Shuta Ishigaki is currently a postdoc researcher in Shanghai University, China. Hereceived BSc, MSc and PhD in physics from Chuo University, Japan in 2016, 2018 and 2021, respectively. He is working on an application of the AdS/CFT correspondence to condensed matter physics. In particular, he is interested in studying non-equilibrium system and non-linear response by using the AdS/CFT correspondence.

Yuichi Otsuka received his Ph.D. from the University of Tokyo in 2002. He is working as a researcher at RIKEN Center for Computational Science. His current research interests include strongly-correlated electrons, quantum Monte Carlo methods, and quantum computing.

Odilon D. D. Couto Jr. received his bachelor degree in Physics from the State University of Campinas. He holds a PhD from the Humboldt University-Berlin (2008). He was a postdoc at the Paul-Drude Institute in Berlin and at the University of Sheffield in the UK. Currently, he holds an Associate Professor position at the Condensed Matter Physics Department of the University of Campinas in Brazil. He is the leader of the optical spectroscopy group. His research is divided in two major areas. The first one is devoted to studies of optical properties of semiconductor nanostructures. The second one is devoted to studies of mechanical waves propagation in solids and their interaction with nanostructures, as well as the use of acoustic waves in fluid-filled boreholes forwell-logging applications in geophysics.

Masao Ogata graduated from Department of Physics, University of Tokyo. He became a research associate at the Institute for Solid State Physics, University of Tokyo, and subsequently became an associate professor at Institute of Physics, University of Tokyo (Komaba). Since 2000, he joined the Department of Physics, University of Tokyo, where he is currently working as a professor. During 1989-1991, he worked as a postdoc in ETH Zurich and during 1991-1993 in Princeton University. His research field is theoretical condensed-matter physics, in particular, strongly correlated electron systems, superconductivity, low-dimensional physics, topological nature of condensed matter, and thermoelectric properties.

He has completed his PhD from Theoretical Department of Institute of Chemical Physics, USSR Academy of Sciences (1981), and he has completed his Dr Phys&Math Sci degree from Institute of Physical Chemistry, Russian Academy of Sciences (2004). He is leading researcher at FSRC “Crystallography and Photonics”, Russian Academy of Sciences, Moscow, Russia. Prof Egorov is working on the development of a fundamentally new physical theory ‒ quantum-classical mechanics and its applications in physics, chemistry, biology and biomedicine.

Takuma Isobe is a Ph.D. student at the Graduate School of Pure and Applied Sciences, University of Tsukuba. He received his B.E. and M.E. degrees from the University of Tsukuba in 2018 and 2021.

Dr. Wei Chen obtained her Bachelor and Master's degree from Nanjing University, China in 2002 and 2005 respectively, and her PH.D degree in physics in 2011 from University of Washington in Seattle. She then became a postdoc fellow in McGill University in Canada. She joined the IAS in Tsinghua university as an associate fellow in 2014. In 2016, she moved to the department of physics in Nanjing University as an associate professor. Her main research interest is in strongly correlated systems and topological systems, focusing on the electronic, topological and transport properties as well as the phase transitions in such systems. She has published more than twenty research articles on various topics, such as 1D interacting systems, graphene, optomechanics and quantum spin liquid.

Abhishek Sharan is a Post-Doctoral fellow at Khalifa University, Abu Dhabi UAE. Prior to this role, he worked at National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL), Colorado USA as a Post-Doctoral fellow from where he continues to work in collaboration. He received PhD in Physics from University of Delaware, USA in 2019 and Bachelor of Technology in Engineering Physics at Indian Insititute of Technology (IIT) Delhi, India in 2011. He has experience in industrial R&D in the area of photovoltaics at Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) Gurugram, India. His research is focused on using first principles computational methods at understanding and engineering properties of materials. Dr. Sharan has expertise in the area of photovoltaics, materials discovery, defect physics, emergent phenomena in materials, two-dimensional materials etc. He has keen interest in energy related materials for green energy production and storage. Dr Sharan holds 2 patents and 20 research articles published in international peer-reviewed journals.

Frédéric Dumas-Bouchiat is currently a full Professor of Materials Science and Engineering at the University of Limoges (France). He received his Ph.D. in Applied Physics from Limoges University in 2005 and was with the Research & Development Division of ST-Microelectronics in Tours (France) until sept. 2007. At this date, he was recruited at the Néel Institute inside the Micro and Nano-Magnetism group and was an associated professor in physics at the Grenoble Alpes University (France). Since sept. 2012, FDB is working at the University of Limoges, Department of Physics and IRCER laboratory inside the ‘Thin films and nanostructures’ group, on the development of advanced functional oxide thin films and nanocomposite materials for optoelectronic and magnetic applications using nano-second laser irradiation- (or sputtering-) based processes. FDB published more than 60 papers in internationally reputed journals (Nat. com., Phys. Rev. Appl., Sci. Rep., Appl. Surf. Sci.), holds 2 patents, gave 20 invited talks and participated in more than 200 communications

Yuri Pusep has been an Associate Professor and Head of Semiconductor Laboratory at University of São Paulo, Institute of Physics of São Carlos since 2001. After completing his PhD at the Novosibirsk Institute of Semiconductors in 1985, he was a postdoc fellow in Prof. M. Cardona group at the Max Planck Institute in Stuttgart. Yuri Pusep’s current research interest is focused on the electronic properties of semiconductor nanostructures, which are studied using optical spectroscopy and electron transport techniques. In particular, it includes magneto transport, magneto-photoluminescence on the micrometer scale and time-resolved measurements. He has published more than 150 scientific papers.

Sunan Ding, PhD in Semiconductor Physics, and Professor at Southern University of Science and Technology, Shen Zhen, China. Current research interests in defect physics of wide-band-gap semiconductor materials and in exploring novel device processes based on heterointegration and heterostructures.

Kohei Yoshimatsu is an Associate Professor at Tohoku University. He received his B.S., M.S., and D.Sc. degrees from the University of Tokyo in 2007, 2009, and 2012, respectively. After his Ph. D. student, he became a JSPS post-doc in the University of Tokyo for a year. Then, He was an assistant professor at Tokyo Institute of Technology. Since 2018, he is working in the present position. He is interested in oxide-thin-film growth using pulsed-laser deposition and development of functionality in oxide systems. He is also interested in investigation of electronic structures by using photoemission and absorption spectroscopies.

Prof. Wenbo Mi received his B.S., M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Department of Physics from Tianjin University in 2001, 2004 and 2006, respectively. Then he became an assistant professor at Department of Physics, Tianjin University and was promoted as full Professor from 2013. He was the visiting scholar in 2008 at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, then he became a Postdoc Fellow in King Abdullah University of Science and Technology in 2010. His research interests mainly focus on the theoretical design, fabrication and physical properties of the low-dimensional magnetic materials.

Giorgos Livanas was born in Athens, Greece in 1982. He is graduated from the Mechanical Engineering Department of National Technical University of Athens in 2006. From 2007 to 2009 he attended the Master’s program ‘Physics and its technological applications’ in the Applied Mathematical and Physical Sciences Department of National Technical University of Athens. After he obtained his Master’s degree he continued with his Ph. D. studies under the supervision of Prof. Georgios Varelogiannis, which he completed in 2016 by presenting his Ph. D. thesis with the title “Novel functional materials emerging from the competition of quantum ordered states”. Between 03/2017 and 09/2017 he worked for the CNR-Spin Institute at Salerno with Dr. Mario Cuoco and Dr. Paola Gentile, investigating superconductor-ferromagnet heterostructures. His research interests are superconductor-ferromagnet heterostructures, Majorana zero modes and topological superconductivity. He has also worked as a Mechanical Engineer for the ‘Consolidated Contractors Company’ and ‘International Wind Engineering’ companies and for the National Observatory of Athens.

Yu Zhang is from Beijing Institute of Technology in China. She mainly concentrate on the novel electronic states in two-dimensional materials.

Alexis obtained Ph.D. at Universidad de Salamanca under the supervision of Prof. C. Ruiz and Prof. L. Plaja. He specialized in the physics of electron wavepacket characterization via attosecond quantum interferometry. His 1rst- P.D. was done at ICFO in the Quantum Theory group of Prof. M. Lewenstein. Afterward, he joined the LANL to investigate the topological phases and transitions of matter using nonlinear optical spectroscopy, in which Alexis, joint to SLAC-SU the theoretical-experimental realization of featuring 3D topological insulators (Bi2Se3) at the surface states was observed. Since October 2019, he is Group Leader at MPI-Korea

Ahmed Rhallabi is Professor in Nantes University France. He received the Ph D degree in Material Science. For thirty years, he works in the field of cold plasma processes for the deposition and etching of thin films at the Jean Rouxel Institute of Materials in Nantes (IMN) France. He is a supervisor in the development of multiscale simulation approaches for plasma etching and deposition processes.

Ahmad A. Awad: received the Ph.D. degree in physics on high-frequency magnetization and vortex dynamics in both magnetic and superconducting nanostructures from the Autonomous University of Madrid, Madrid, Spain, in 2012. He did a one-year Postdoctoral fellowship At Seoul National University, South Korea in 2013 in Micromagnetics numerical simulation, followed by another Postdoctoral position at the University of Gothenburg, Gothenburg, Sweden (2014-2018) with a focus on spintronic and spin-torque-induced magnetization dynamics. Since 2018 he received a permanent position at Gothenburg university with a focus on the Magneto-optical characterization of stimulated Spin dynamics. He co-authored more than 40 scientific publications and 4 patents.

He received a doctoral degree in physics in 2014 from Hiroshima University, Japan. After spending a year as a visiting scientist at Phillips-Universität Marburg, Germany, He has worked as an assistant professor at the University of Tokyo, Japan. In 2021, He became an associate professor for experimental physics at Hiroshima University. His main research interests are laser photoemission spectroscopy of solid states and their ultrafast phenomena.

Dr. Jia got her PhD. Degree in Shanghai Institute of Optics and Fine Mechanics, CAS in 2011. Then she joined Shanghai Institute of Microsystem and Information, CAS and National Institute for Materials Science from 2011 to 2016. Now, she is the Associate Professor of Shenzhen Institute of Advanced Technology, CAS. Dr. Jia’s research concentrates on multifunctional materials and devices for Information technology, especially on the multiferroics, ferroelectrics, semiconductors, etc. She has published 70 papers, applied 20 patents, and 2 academic books.

Vladimir A. Kulbachinskii graduated from Lomonosov Moscow State University, Physics Faculty and was awarded a PhD degree in 1978. In 1991 was awarded a Dr. of Science degree. His research interests include low temperature physics, superconductivity, graphite intercalation compounds, high pressure, thermoelectricity, magnetism, fullerenes and fullerides, etc. Current status is a distinguished professor of Lomonosov Moscow State University, Low Temperature and Superconductivity department, co-author of more than 400 scientific papers. He is a Laureate of the Russian Federation Government award for his pedagogical activity.

Farzana Nasreen received her MSc in Physics from University of Hyderabad, India in 2003. She finished her PhD in physics from New Mexico State University in 2010. During her Ph. D, she worked at National High Magnetic Field Laboratory (NHMFL) at Los Alamos as a visiting graduate student and studied different kinds of uranium intermetallic compounds and organometallic compounds which exhibit strongly correlated electron behavior such as quantum criticality, superconductivity, heavy fermion, non-Fermi liquid behavior and multiferroic behavior. In her last year of PhD, she was awarded Seaborg Fellowship from G. T. Seaborg Institute for Transactinium Science. Afterwards, she worked as a postdoctoral research associate at High Pressure Science and Engineering Center (HiPSEC) at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas from 2012 to 2014. In her postdoctoral work, she studied different rare earth and uranium intermetallic and organometallic compounds under very high pressure (up to 50 GPa) to investigate their valence fluctuation phenomena using synchrotron x-ray absorption spectroscopy and x-ray scattering technique at high pressure beamline at Advance Photon Source in Argonne National Laboratory. Currently, she is working as a postdoctoral fellow in Physics and Astronomy Department at Colgate University. Her research work is in the area of superconducting neuromorphic computing.

Sanaz Mehdipour received her master´s degree in Electrical Engineering (Micro and Nano Systems) at TU Chemnitz (Germany) and her bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (Electronics) at Shiraz University of Technology (Iran). Later, she has joined as a Ph.D. student to the group of professor Enrique Diez at Salamanca University (Spain) to pursue her studies on fabrication and characterization (temperature-dependent magnetotransport and Raman Spectroscopy) of 2D devices out of topological insulator materials at Cleanroom and low-temperature laboratory of Salamanca University, respectively.

Fawzan Mohamed Kareem Navaz is a first-year B.Tech. Aerospace Engineering student at Amity University, Dubai. He is interested in the outer space phenomena which comprises of the magnetic nature and energy sources along with their applications and their influences on other celestial bodies present in the outer space. He has observed a wide range of scientific occurrences and is fascinated by many of them. He is always interested in the mechanical and technical aspects of physical processes.
