Dr. Michael Sheetz recently moved to Biochemistry and Molecular Biology Department at Univ. of Texas Medical Branch where he will organize a Mechanomedicine Program. He was the Founding Director of the Mechanobiology Institute at National University of Singapore (2009-2019) and his lab’s recent work has defined the molecular mechanisms of rigidity sensing and matrix control of cell growth. In 2012, he was the recipient of the Lasker and Wiley Prizes for Biomedical Sciences for work done on in vitro motility assays and the discovery of kinesin. He has had appointments at Columbia University (Biological Sciences) (2000-2019), as Chair of Cell Biology at Duke University Medical Center (1990-2000), Washington University Medical School (Physiology) (1985-1990) and University of Connecticut Health Center (Physiology) (1975-1985).

Raphael Mechoulam (RM) – a short C.V. RM was born in Sofia, Bulgaria in 1930. His father was a physician and head of the Jewish hospital in Sofia. RM went to an American Grade School in Sofia for 4 years until it was closed by the pro-German government. From 1942, for over 2 years –during the 2nd world war - his family lived in small villages in the Balkans. His parents believed that the family is safer there. Nevertheless his father was taken to a concentration camp for part of this time. RM immigrated to Israel in 1949. He studied biochemistry at the Hebrew University in Jerusalem (M.Sc.)and the Weizmann Institute in Rehovot (Ph.D.) He spent a year in New York, at the Rockefeller Institute and returned to the Weizmann Institute in 1960. He worked on the chemistry of various natural products. He initiated his work on hashish, which he received from the Police. In 1966 he moved to the Hebrew University, where he became a full professor in 1972. From 1979 to 1982 he was Rector (Academic Head) of the Hebrew University. He retired in 2000 but continued his research. He still has a lab with 3-4 post-doctoral researchers. His work has been mostly on the chemistry of natural products, the best known being on cannabinoids. In collaboration with numerous colleagues in Israel and abroad he has also published in pharmacology and on clinical trials. He has published about 470 scientific papers and have received numerous national and international prizes, including the Israel Prize – the most prestigious Israeli Prize. He is a member of the Israel Academy of Sciences, where he headed the Natural Sciences section from 2007 to 2013. He married Dalia (born Borovitch) in 1955 and they have 3 children, Roy, a professor of mathematics at the Technion in Haifa, Hadas, an M.D. ophtalmologist and Dafna, an M.D. pediatric neurologist. He has 7 grandchildren.

Abraham (Avi) Marmur is a professor emeritus of chemical engineering at Technion – Israel Institute of Technology. He has worked and published in the field of interfacial phenomena for about forty-five years, has published extensively in this field and related research areas, and has been consulting for major companies. He has also participated in many international conferences and has been active in lecturing in universities and industrial sites in many countries. At Technion, professor Marmur received awards for excellence in research and in teaching. In addition, he was an editor of Reviews in Chemical Engineering, and was on the advisory committee of Journal of Colloid and Interface Science and Journal of Adhesion Science and Technology, Advances in Colloid and Interface Science, and Colloids and surfaces A. In addition, he is on the editorial board of several other profession journals.

She graduated from the Department of the Physics of Çukurova University in 2006. She has worked at CERN, Geneva during 2008-2010 for her Master thesis. She completed her PhD studies in 2014 in Universitat Autonoma de Barcelona, Spain. In 2015, she has started to work at Gordon Center for Medical Imaging, NMMI Radiology Department, Massachusetts General Hospital & Harvard Medical School as a post-doc. She has worked on a new technique called laser-induced optical barriers (LIOB) technique to improve nuclear medicine imaging devices cost and performance. She has designed a high-performance cardiac SPECT system in a cost-effective manner using the LIOB technique. Recently, she is working on the application of Biomedical Instrumentation using Artificial Intelligence, Multi-Criteria Decision Analysis in Engineering and Healthcare, Artificial Intelligence in Healthcare. She has been affiliated with Near East University as an Assoc. Prof. in Biomedical Engineering Department since 2016 and DESAM Institute since 2019

Zhigang Chen is currently a specially-appointed ChairProfessor at Nankai University, China. His research interests include nonlinear photonics, topological phenomena, soft-matter and biophotonics. Dr. Chen is a Fellow of the Optical Society of America and a Fellow of the American Physical Society. He has served as an Editor/Guest Editor for several journals including Light Science & Applications, Optics Letters, Science Bulletin, and Advances in Physics X, and as a Chair/Organizer for many conferences including the Program/General Co-Chair for CLEO-Fundamental Science.

Prof. Sabu Thomas is one of India’s most renowned scientists known for his contributions in polymer science and Nanotechnology. He is a scientist, administrator and an excellent teacher who has students all over the world. Weibo Cai, PhD Weibo Cai is a Vilas Distinguished Achievement Professor of Radiology, Medical Physics, Materials Science & Engineering, and Pharmaceutical Sciences at the University of Wisconsin - Madison.He received a BS degree in Chemistry from Nanjing University, China (1995) and a PhD degree in Chemistry from the University of California San Diego (2004). Between 2005 and 2008, Dr. Cai did his post-doctoral research in the Molecular Imaging Program at Stanford University. In February 2008, Dr. Cai joined the University of Wisconsin - Madison as a Biomedical Engineering Cluster Hire, and was promoted to Associate Professor with Tenure in 2014, and Full Professor in 2018. Carole Perry (CCP) is university distinguished professor in bioinorganic and materials chemistry at Nottingham Trent University. Her research interests lie where biology, chemistry, and physics intersect, and are directed toward understanding how biomolecules and materials interact in aqueous media. An understanding of these interactions is relevant for the design of novel materials and processing technologies in fields as diverse as biological imaging, implant integration, food and drug processing, and electronic materials. In 2012/2013 she was the Edward, Frances and Shirley B. Daniels Fellow and Wyss Fellow at the Radcliffe Institute for Advanced Study, Harvard University. She served the Royal Society of Chemistry as an elected trustee and council member and chaired Heads of Chemistry UK.

Prof Yung CHANG is a Distinguished Professor and the Director of the R&D center for Membrane Technology at Chung Yuan Christian University (CYCU), Chung-Li, Taiwan. He completed his PhD in 2004 at the National Taiwan University and he was postdoctoral fellow in National Taiwan University and University of Washington from 2004 to 2006. His major scientific research interests include advanced biomaterials, biomolecular engineering, biomedical interface science, biopolymer physical chemistry, biomimetic material science, and biomedical healthcare membranes. His specialization is in the development of universal anti-(bio)fouling principles for the design of sustainable interfaces and membranes. His membrane research activities involve the application of advanced membrane materials, process technologies, and engineering systems for industries in water treatment (membrane bioreactor) and health care (blood transfusion). Prof. Chang has published 230+ SCI articles and 300+ conference papers with over 8,000 citations and h-index 49. He applied over 50 invention patents and received 36 licensed patents. He was awarded Wu Da-Yu Award of Young Outstanding Research Professor from Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST) in 2012. Principle Founder of the Innovation new start-up investment in 2016. (PuriBlood Biotechnology, supported by MOST) Director of the R&D center for Membrane Technology at CYCU in 2017. Prof. Chang was awarded ‘The SCEJ Award for Outstanding Asian Researcher and Engineer’ from Chemical Engineering Society of Japan in 2018. ‘Outstanding Chemical Engineering Technology Award’ from Chemical Engineering Society of Taiwan in 2020.

Over the past 20 years Dr. Chen’s laboratory focused on understanding adenosine and adenosine receptor functions under physiological and pathophysiological conditions. Over the last two decade,work from my laboratory made a significant contribution to the exciting development of the adenosine A2A receptor (A2AR) as a leading non-dopaminergic therapeutic target for PD, i) by providing the first experimental evidence for neuroprotection by caffeine and A2AR antagonists, offering the neurobiological basis for the inverse relationship between caffeine consumption and the risk of developing PD; ii) by demonstrating distinct cellular mechanisms for motor and neuroprotective effects of A2AR antagonists in PD models, indicating the possible involvement of both neuronal and astroglial A2ARs. iii) we have devoted significant effort to uncover the pro-cognitive function of inactivation of striatopallidal A2ARs in the control of a variety of cognitive outcome parameters ranging from working memory to reversal learning and habit formation. As a scientific consultant, he participated in the clinical drug development of A2A receptor antagonist for Parkinson's disease for 18 years, contributing to final approval by US Food Drug Administration (FDA) in September 2019. More recently, Dr. Chen's recent investigation into the A2AR control of retinal vascularization led to the discovery of the abnormal A2AR signaling in retina as a therapeutic target for retinopathy of prematurity. Dr. Chen has published 250 papers in primary neuroscience journals with H-index 66. Dr. Chen has severed as the review panelists for the National Science Foundations from 8 countries (including US, China, Italy,Austria, and Australia)and the Medical Research Council from UK.

Dr. Joachim Loo is currently Associate Professor in the School of Materials Science and Engineering (MSE), Nanyang Technological University (NTU). He holds a joint appointment at the Singapore Centre on Environmental Life Sciences Engineering (SCELSE), the Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine, and is a Visiting Scientist at the Harvard School of Public Health (HSPH), USA. He is also an international member of the Association of Pacific Rim Universities (APRU) for Sustainable Waste Management, and a member of the Coordinated Research Project (CRP) under the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), United Nations (UN). His research interests lies in designing encapsulation systems for controlled and targeted delivery from agri- food, biomedical, environmental to pharmaceutical applications. He has published more than 200 journal papers (h-index: 55 – Web of Science), three book chapters and filed more than 20 patents in this research field. More recently, he spun-off two companies; LiberaTx and Dietrics, to formulate an extended-release oral drug delivery system and to valorise cellulose for fat absorption as a food ingredient, respectively. As an educator, he was awarded the prestigious Nanyang Education Award (School) in 2011 and 2016, and more recently the Nanyang Education Award (College) in 2020. Currently, he is managing several administrative portfolios, such as Associate Chair (Students) in MSE, Deputy Director (Undergraduate) of the Renaissance Engineering Programme (REP), and is also currently a co-convenor of the ISO/TC 229 Nanotechnology National Working Group (WG3), under the Singapore Chemical Industry Council.

Dr. Shaochen Chen is a Professor and Chair in the NanoEngineering Department and Professor in the Bioengineering Department at the University of California, San Diego (UCSD). He is the founding co-director of the Biomaterials and Tissue Engineering Center at UCSD. Before joining UCSD, Dr. Chen had been a Professor and a Henderson Centennial Endowed Faculty Fellow in Engineering at the University of Texas at Austin from 2001 to 2010. Between 2008 and 2010, he served as the Program Director for the Nanomanufacturing Program of the US National Science Foundation (NSF). Dr. Chen’s primary research interests include:3D printing and bioprinting, biomaterials and nanomaterials, stem cell and regenerative medicine, and tissue engineering. He has published over 160 papers in top journals. Among his numerous awards, Dr. Chen received the NSF CAREER award, ONR Young Investigator award, and NIH Edward Nagy New Investigator Award. For his seminal work in 3D printing, bioprinting, and nanomanufacturing,he received the Milton C. Shaw Manufacturing Research Medal from the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) in 2017. Dr. Chen is a Fellow of AAAS, AIMBE, ASME, SPIE, and ISNM. He is a co-founder of Allegro 3D, Inc. commercializing 3D bioprinting technologies.

Professor Raman Singh’s primary research interests are in the relationship of Nano-/microstructure and Environment-assisted degradation and fracture of metallic and composite materials, and Nanotechnology for Advanced Mitigation of such Degradations. He has also worked extensively on use of advanced materials (e.g., graphene) for corrosion mitigation, stress corrosion cracking, and corrosion and corrosion-mitigation of magnesium alloys (including for the use of magnesium alloys for aerospace, defence and bioimplant applications). He is a senior professor at Monash University, Australia. He was a Visiting Professor at ETH Zurich, Switzerland, US Naval Research Lab, and University of Connecticut. He worked as a scientist at Indian Atomic Energy and as and a post doc University of New South Wales, Australia. Prof Singh’s professional distinctions and recognitions include: Guest Professor of ETH Zurich, Editor of a book on Cracking of Welds (CRC Press), Lead Editor of a book on Non-destructive Evaluation of Corrosion (Wiley), Editor-in-Chief of an Elsevier and two MDPI journals, leader/chairperson of a few international conferences and regular plenary/keynote lectures at international conferences, over 240 peer-reviewed international journal publications and 15 book chapter, and several competitive research grants (that includes 4 Discovery, 7 Linkage and one ITRH grants of Australian Research Council). Prof Singh has supervised 50 PhD students. His vibrant research group at Monash University comprises of PhD students from different disciplines (Mechanical, Chemical, Materials and Mining Engineering, and Science) as well as from different cultural backgrounds (Australian, Middle-eastern, Chinese, Malaysian, Indian, African, North American and Israeli).

He is also an adjunct Faculty in the Department of Mechanical & Materials Engineering at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. He has won a number of awards including UNMC New Investigator Award 2015, Most Promising Invention Award 2017, Licensed Technology Award 2017 and 2018, Dr. Harold & Beverly Maurer Scientific Achievement Award, The Nebraska Coalition for Lifesaving Cures 2019,WashU patent award 2019 and 2020, and UNMC Distinguished Scientist Award 2020. His research interests include biomaterials, drug delivery, nanomedicine, tissue engineering, regenerative medicine, wound infection and healing, and hemostasis.

Professor Chia-Ching Chang is a Biological Physicist. Professor Chang studied physics at National Tsing Hua University (NTHU), Taiwan. After finishing his study, he started his Ph.D. in molecular biophysics at Institute of Life Science, NTHU, Taiwan, 1992. In 1997, he was awarded visiting scholarship of MOE, Taiwan and visited Department of Biology, Johns Hopkins University, as pre-doctoral fellow. Dr. Habil. Vaidotas KAŽUKAUSKAS is a Professor at the Faculty of Physics of Vilnius University, Lithuania. He was awarded Dr. Habil. degree in 1999. The topics of his research work are carrier transport, generation, recombination and trapping phenomena in advanced materials and structures for (opto-)electronic and photovoltaic applications. Prof. V. Kažukauskas is/was involved as a team leader into the six large-scale international projects and other numerous projects. Short Bio: Sushanta Mitra is a Professor in the Department of Mechanical & Mechatronics Engineering and cross-appointed to Chemical Engineering, Physics & Astronomy, and Chemistry at the University of Waterloo. He serves as the Executive Director of Canada’s largest nanotechnology institute – the Waterloo Institute for Nanotechnology (WIN). Before joining Waterloo, he had several administrative roles in Canadian higher education, including Department Chair (Lassonde School of Engineering), Associate Vice-President Research (York University) and Assistant Vice-President Research (University of Alberta). He also served as the President of the Canadian Society for Mechanical Engineering. For his contributions in science and engineering, he is elected fellow of several professional organizations, including the Canadian Academy of Engineering, the Royal Society of Chemistry, the American Physical Society, the American Association for the Advancement of Science and a foreign fellow of both the Indian National Academy of Engineering and the National Academy of Sciences India. He has an entrepreneurial mind, being the Founder & CEO of a Canadian startup, Aquabits Inc. (on quantum computing) and a Dutch startup, SLE Enterprises B.V. (on ultra-fast encapsulation technology), supported by the University of Waterloo.

Carlos F.O. Graeff received his Ph.D. in Physics from the State University of Campinas (UNICAMP) in 1994. After a post‐doctorate at TU München as an Alexander von Humboldt Foundation stipendiary, he joined the University of São Paulo (USP), Campus Ribeirão Preto, as Assistant (1996-1999) and Associate Professor (1999‐2006). In 2006 he joined the State University of São Paulo (UNESP) as Full Professor. Dr. Nadia Benkirane is Research director (DR1) at INSERM (French National Institute for Health and Medical Research) and head of the “Regenerative Nanomedicine” laboratory, UMR 1260 Inserm-Unistra, Strasbourg, France. She was leader of “Active Biomaterials and Tissue Engineering” team INSERM 977. She received her Ph.D. from University Louis Pasteur, ULP, Strasbourg, France for the work on Development of pseudopeptides as synthetic vaccines. Carlos Roberto (Beto) Grandini, professor at Physics Department of Universidade Estadual Paulista (UNESP), in Bauru, Brazil. Prof. Beto Grandini received his B.S. in Physics in 1985 from Universidade Federal de São Carlos (UFSCar), Brazil, and M.S. Dr. Bloebaum is an Emeritus Professor and former holder of the Albert and Margaret Hofmann Orthopedic Research Chair. In addition to reviewing joint replacement implant failures and successes, he has also developed models for testing biomaterials intended for skeletal attachment. Dr. Bloebaum has 10 patents in the field of implant development and design. His publications include over 170 peer reviewed manuscripts. Prof. Davor Zeljezic Ph.D. works at the Institute for Medical Research and Occupational Health in Zagreb Croatia as the Scientific Advisor. He contributes to drafting and internal peer-reviewing of project proposals. As the Advisor he has mentorship 12 doctoral theses in the last 10 years, 5 master’s degree and one bachelor one. His primary field of research is genetic toxicology of different agents – from biocides and plant protection products, mycotoxins, dental materials, nanomaterials to microplastics. Teruki Nii is currently Assistant Professor in Department of Applied Chemistry, Faculty of Engineering, and Graduate School of System Life Sciences in Kyushu University. He studied biomaterial-based tissue engineering and regenerative medicine under the guidance of Prof. Yasuhiko Tabata, Ph.D., D.Med.Sci., D.Pharm (Kyoto University) andrecieved his Ph.D. in 2021. Nilson C Cruz received the PhD degree in Science from the Universidade Estadual de Campinas in 1999. Since 2003 he is teaching at Universidade Estadual Paulista. Elidiane C. Rangel is as associated professor in the Science and Technology Institute of Sorocaba, UNESP, Brazil. As a physicist, graduated in 1992, she teaches disciplines of this area to the Control and Automation Engineering course at UNESP. As a doctor in Science by Campinas State University (1999), she ministrates disciplines of the material science field in the Material Science and Technology Graduation Program. Her areas of research include materials or thin-film processing by plasma techniques (plasma-enhanced chemical vapor deposition, PIII, PIIID, sputtering, and etching) and characterization of their mechanical (nanoindentation), tribological (scratching test), chemical and structural (FTIR, XPS, and RBS), morphological and topographical (AFM and SEM), optical (ultraviolet–visible spectroscopy), thermodynamic (contact angle), and electrochemical (EIS) properties.

Stefano Castegnaro is project engineer at Area Impianti, Italy. Formerly post-doc at the von Karman Institute, he received two master degrees: one in Industrial Design at the University IUAV of Venice, Italy and one in Aerospace Engineering at the University of Padova, Italy where he also obtained the PhD in Industrial Engineering in 2018. He was visiting student at the Universidad Politecnica de Madrid, Spain within the EU Erasmus Program. Before the PhD he worked in the nautical production field (REA Marine and Slyder Yachts), participating to the design and construction of some innovative sailing yachts. He joined the VKI after a one-year-experience at the italian CERN Industrial Liason Office of the National Institute for Nuclear Physics. His research activity regards turbomachinery aerodynamics and related testing rigs; he is a passionate sailor.

I am an associate professor in the Departments of Ophthalmology and Biomedical Engineering at the University of Montreal. I completed my PhD in Applied Physics at Athens Polytechnic (Greece) in 2011. As postdoctoral fellow I gained expertise in biophotonics and nanotechnology at Polytechnique Montréal (Canada) and at the University of St. Andrews (UK). My lab focuses on tissue engineering, targeted drug delivery and eye surgery innovation. We use a variety of light-enabled biomedical technologies, including laser-assisted bioprinting, fiber-based Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT), and nanophotonics.I have authored or co-authored 31 papers and filled 3 patent applications.

Dr Livesey David Olerile is awell-versed Scientist. He holds a patent entitled ‘Method and formulation for inhalation’. This patent has been granted in more than 30 countries including Australia, Canada, European Union (A block of 27 countries), United States of America, Mexico, China, India, Indonesia, Brazil and South Africa. Intertwined with this patent, Dr Olerile is engaged in developing a Dry Powder Inhaler (DPI) delivery system for the delivery of Oxytocin for treatment of postpartum haemorrhage in the third world (low resourced environment) which has completed phase 2 of clinical trials. In real-time, this DPI oxytocin product is developed by Monash University's Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences (MIPS) in partnership with British Pharmaceutical giant, Vectura Group plc (an inhalation contract development and manufacturing organisation). MIPS has also formed alliance with a number of industry partners including Janssen Pharmaceuticals- a unit of United States healthcare giant, Johnson & Johnson (Given an option to take technology through late stage development to commercialisation) and British GlaxoSmithKline (Provides critical technical expertise) as well as philanthropic organisation such as the McCall MacBain Foundation to develop a novel heat-stable formulation of oxytocin. Dr Olerile, a reviewer for Elsevier journal, has written a book (monograph) called ‘Personalised Nanomedicine for Cancer Management’.He has also published several research papers in reputable refereed international journals.

Dr. Wen-Tau Juan is an Associate Professor atChina Medical University in Taiwan. He received his Ph.D. in Physics from National Central University in Taiwan in 2000. He continued his postdoc training in single-molecule polymer physics at Stanford University in the US until 2005. He was appointed to the Institute of Physics, Academia Sinica, Taiwan,as afacultyleading the biopolymer laboratory since 2005. In 2015, he was recruited by the newly founded Integrative Stem Cell Center at China Medical Universityin central Taiwan. Dr. Juan’s recent research focuses on the development and regeneration of functional tissues and the associated biomimetic applications. Dr. Juan’s expertise in soft-matter and biophysicsfacilitates the experimental approach, analysis, and modelingin the biomaterial and regenerative medicine research interdisciplinarily. His research has been publishedin prestigious journals, such as Science, Cell, PNAS, ACS Applied Materials & Interfaces,Physical Review Letters, and PLoS Genetics.

Prof. Tseung-Yuen Tseng is now a Lifetime Chair Professor in the Institute of Electronics, National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University. He was the Dean of College of Engineering(2005-2007), the Vice Chancellor and University Chair Professor(2007-2009) of the National Taipei University of Technology, Taipei, Taiwan. Dr. Tseng’s professional interests are electronic ceramics, nanoceramics, ceramic sensors, high-k dielectric films, ferroelectric thin films and their based devices, energy materials and resistive switching memory devices. He has published over 430 research papers in refereed international journals and 170 conference papers(over 80 keynote and invited talks), 7 books, and held 36 patents. He invented the base metal multilayer ceramic capacitors, which have become large scale commercial product. He was Chair of the Board of Asian Ferroelectrics Association and General Chair of The 6th Asian Meeting of Ferroelectrics. He has received numerous awards, such as Distinguished Research Award from the National Science Council, IEEE CPMT Exceptional Technical Achievement Award, Academic Award and National Endowed Chair Professor from Ministry of Education, IEEE CPMT Outstanding Sustained Technical Contribution Award, and Distinguished Achievement Award of the Phi Tau Phi Scholastic Honor Society(2018). He was elected a Fellow of the American Ceramic Society, IEEE Fellow ,MRS-T Fellow and APAM Academician.

Dr. ABM Sharif Hossain obtained his PhD in Plant, Nano and Industrial Biotechnology in 2006, Ehime University, Japan. He holds a position as an Associate Professor in the Biotechnology Program, Department of Biology, Faculty of Science, Dammam University KSA. Dr. Hossain has a total of 218 publication including patents, Journal papers, 15 books, 19 book monographs and book chapters. He has more than 55 articles are web of sciences (ISI), He has a total of 54 Conference abstract and proceeding. He achieved h-index: 25 and total Google scholar citation: 2494. Dr. Hossain stood first scientist at Hail University and achieved Vice Chancellor award at Hail University, KSA. Dr. Hossain supervised PhD: 6 (UM, UKM, Malaysia), MSc: 12, Undergraduate : 32 (university of Malaya, Kuala Lumpur and Hail University, KSA) students. He has completed 19 research projects. He is an Editorial member of 10 Journals. In addition, he is an External Examiner for PhD and MSc Thesis of 5 Universities. Dr. Hossain is expertise in Plant Biotechnology, Environmental Science and Biotechnology, Industrial Biotechnology and Nanobiotechnology (nanobiomaterials) like nanocellulose and nanostarch crystal, nanobiofilm and nanobiosensor chip production using cellulose derived from plant biomass resources.

MA Agam completed his PhD from Nanoscale Physics Research Laboratory, University of Birmingham, UK in 2006. Awarded as Best Malaysian-UK student in 2005 by Malaysian government and published more than 45 research papers in reputed journals. His research interest span from polymer resists to functional nanomaterials especially for environment preservation. Focus more on overexposure of doped polymers in direct fabrication of graphitic materials such as Diamond like Carbon for advance materials research and applications. Prof. Wensheng Qin at Lakehead University in Canada received his Bachelor and Master's degrees from the Faculty of Agriculture and Biotechnology at Zhejiang University in China. Then he worked in Zhejiang Academy of Agricultural Sciences and conducted visiting research in the Chinese Academy of Sciences. He earned his PhD degree in Molecular Biotechnology from Queen's University in Canada. He received his postdoctoral training at Stanford University in USA in Genetics and Biotechnology. He also worked in University of Waterloo and University of Toronto in Canada, National Polytechnic Institute in Mexico, Kansas State University and Yale University inUSA.Qin joined Lakehead University in 2008 as an assistant professor in biotechnology and Ontario Research Chair in Biorefining Research (2008-2013). He holds expertise in molecular biology, microbial engineering, fermentation, and biomass bioconversion for bioproducts. Qin was an associate editor for two UK Journals.
