Dr. Arcady P. Zhukov graduated in 1980 from the Moscow Steel and Alloys Institute (presently National University of Science and Technology), received Ph.D. degree from the Institute of Solid State Physics (Chernogolovka) of the Russian Academy of Science in 1988 and Doctor of Science (habilitation) from Moscow State “Lomonosov” University – in 2010. Presently -Ikerbasque Research professor at the Department of the Materials Physics of the University of Basque Country, Spain. He has published more than 450 referred papers in the international journals (total number of citations of A. Zhukov’s papers, updated September 12, 2016: 5232, Citation H-index = 38). A. Zhukov chaired Donostia International Workshop on Energy, Materials, and Nanotechnology (DINEMN), (San Sebastián, September 2015), International workshop on magnetic wires (IWMW-7) en Ordizia (Gipuzkoa, 2-3 Julio 2015), co-chaired Donostia International Conference on Nanoscaled Magnetism (DICNMA), III Joint European Magnetic Symposia, organized and chaired few session of most important international conferences, gave above 50 invited talks at few international conferences. He is an associate Editor of IEEE Magnetic letters and International Journal on Smart Sensing and Intelligent Systems, member of several editorial boards and various committees of International Conferences, guest Editor of J. Magn. Magn. Mater, Phys. Stat. sol (A) and (C). A. Zhukov in collaboration with V. Zhukova wrote two books on magnetic properties and applications of glass-coated microwires, few book chapters (among them one for the Handbook of Magnetic Materials ed. by Prof. K. Buschow ), articles for the “Enciclopedia of NanoScience and Nanotechnology” and “Enciclopedia of Sensors”. Additionally Dr. A. Zhukov is the Editor of two books,. In 2000 A. Zhukov funded a spin-off company “TAMAG” involved in magnetic microsensors development. Most scientific activity is related to studies of magnetic properties of amorphous and nanocrystalline glass-coated microwires (typically of 1-30 micrometers in diameter) such as Giant Magnetoimpedance, GMI, effect and fast domain wall propagation.

Karyn Le Hur is a theoretical physicist aiming to answer fundamental questions in physics-related interdisciplinary research areas engaging many-body systems, condensed matter, quantum information theory, AMO systems and nanoelectronics. She did her PhD thesis at LPS Orsay France (1995-1998) with Bernard Coqblin on Kondo physics. Then, she was post-doctoral associate at ETH Zurich in the group of T. Maurice Rice working on strongly correlated matter and high-Tc superconductors (1998-2000). In 2000, she obtained a 6-year position in the group of Markus Buttiker in Geneva to learn mesoscopic physics (2000-2002). From 2002 to 2006, she was assistant and (tenure) associate professor at Sherbrooke University, Quebec, Canada, and in 2006-2011 associate professor at Yale University in USA. In 2012, she accepted a CNRS DR-research position in France, at CPHT Ecole Polytechnique, and she is also PCC professor at Ecole Polytechnique (partial time) since 2012.

Dr. Michael Giersig is Professor at Freie University Berlin, Dept. of Physics and at Helmholtz-Zentrum Berlin für Materiallien und Energie GmbH, Institute of Nanoarchitectures for Energy Conversion; Berlin. He have recieved his PhD (Dr. rer. nat.) from the Freie University Berlin, Germany. He was Awarded with the Lee Hsun Research Award on Materials Science by the Institute of Metal Research, Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2013. He is also the Foreign Member of the Polish Academy of Sciences. He is Co- Inventor of 10 patents and Co-Founder of two companies. Prof. Yung Woo Park is currently a Principal Investigator of the Institute of Applied Physics, Seoul National University. He also holds a dual appointment as an Adjunct Professor in the Department of Physics & Astronomy at the Univeristy of Pennsylvania. He received his PhD from the University of Pennsylvania in 1980. From 1980-2017 he was a Professor in the Department of Physics & Astronomy at Seoul National University, and he has become an Emeritus Professor of the Seoul National University since 2017. He is a Fellow of the American Physical Society and a Foreign Member of the Göteborg Royal Academy of Science and Arts, Sweden. His research interests include Synthesis and Transport of Conducting Polymers, Carbon Nanotubes, Graphene & 2D Materials, Organic Crystals, and Highly Correlated Materials.

Claire Wilhelm, born 1975, biophysicist, was recruited as staff CNRS scientist (Condensed Matter section) in 2003, after obtaining her PhD in 2002 in soft matter physics. Since then, she has oriented her research to the biomedical field. Her works lied at the crossroads of magnetism, biophysics and nanomedicine and were resolutely multidisciplinary, taking advantage of the physical properties of magnetic nanoparticles to develop more effective treatments and new methods of medical investigation. She was appointed CNRS research director in 2013 and senior research director in 2018. She received the CNRS bronze medal in 2011, the Louis Ancel prize in 2014, an ERC consolidator grant in 2014 devoted to magnetic tissue engineering and biotransformation of nanoparticles in living tissues, and an ERC consolidator in 2019 for studying magnetic-responsive and bio-made anticancer vectors. She has co-authored 160+ publications (14 000+ citations, h-index 63) and she delivered 60+ invited lectures.

He has conducted research on nanomaterials for over 35 years,served as referee for over 40 technical journals, takes part of the Editorial Board of 10 technical journals and presented more than 120 invited talks in more than 30 countries. He is known for his research in preparation, characterization and applications of nanoparticle-based materials. Dr.Phan is a Professor of Physics at the University of South Florida. He received a Ph.D. degree in Engineering Physics from Bristol University, UK in 2006. He is a leading expert in the development of magnetocaloric, magnetoimpedance, magnetic nanoparticles, and two-dimensional van der Waals materials for energy-efficient magnetic refrigeration, smart sensor technologies, magnetic hyperthermia, and spintronics and quantum communications, respectively. He has published more than 300 peer-reviewed journal papers (over 11,000 citations, h-index: 53 from Google Scholar), 7 review papers, 5 book chapters, and 1 text book. Dr.Thomas W. Krause received a B.Sc. degree from the University of Calgary, Alberta, Canada, in 1987, and M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees in Solid State Physics from McMaster University, Hamilton, ON, Canada, in 1989 and 1992, respectively. He was with the Applied Magnetics Group, Queen’s University, Kingston, ON, Canada, from 1992 to 1996. In 1996, he took a position as Physicist with Canadian Nuclear Laboratories, Chalk River,ON, developing non-destructive evaluation (NDE) technology for the nuclear industry. In 2006 he accepted a position as Associate Professor with the Royal Military College of Canada and became full Professor in 2008. He has 29 years of research and development experience in advanced NDE technology with a focus on electromagnetic NDE using pulsed eddy current, eddies current, and magnetic Barkhausen noise.

Prof. Gerardo F. Goya (Mar del Plata, Argentina) studied at the Universidad Nacional de La Plata and Centro Atómico Bariloche, Argentina, obtaining his PhD degree in 1995. During 2001-2007 Prof. Goya has been Associate Professor at the Institute of Physics, University of Sao Paulo (Brazil), where he created and managed the mechanochemistry laboratory at the Materials Physics Department (DFMT). Prof. Goya was awarded a Ramon y Cajal Grant for incorporation of talented researchers and joined the Nanoscience Institute of Aragon (INA)at the University of Zaragoza, Spain,where he started and consolidated a new research line on biomedical applications of nanomagnetism and magnetic hyperthermia. Since 2012 he is an Associate Professor at UZ He anda full-time senior researcher, as well as co-founder and scientific advisor of nB Nanoscale Biomagnetics S.L., a spin off company from UNIZAR.

Dr.Tetsuo Endoh joined ULSI Research Center Toshiba Co. in 1987 and was engaged in the R&D and mass-production of NAND Memory. He became a lecturer at the Research Institute of Electrical Communication, Tohoku University in 1995. Now, He is a professor at the Graduate School of Engineering, Director of the Center for Innovative Integrated Electronic Systems (CIES)and Deputy director of the Center for Science and Innovation in Spintronics (CSIS) of Tohoku University. His current interests are advanced memory technology, 3D structure device, beyond-CMOS technology and low power processor technology such as 3D NAND memory, STT-/SOT-MRAM, Vertical GAA MOSFET, CMOS/Spintronics Hybrid circuit, Spintronics-based Non-Volatile Logic from IoT processor to AI processor, and so on. He is also interested in power-management technology, such as GaN on Si based power devices and power electronics from circuits to module/system for automotive applications and so on. He received the 14th Prime Minister’s Award for its Contribution to Industry-Academia-Government Collaboration in 2016.He received National Invention Award "the 21st century Encouragement of Invention Prize" for contribution to invention of 3D NAND memory in 2017.

V.L Pokrovsky graduated from Kharkov University (Ukraine) as MS in 1953, defended PhD at Tomsk University (Russia) 1957 and Doctor of Physics and Mathematics (highest degree) at Siberian Branch of Soviet Academy of Sciences, Novosibirsk in 1962. Worked in Novosibirsk till 1966, then at Landau Institute for Theoretical Physics, Chernogolovka, Moscow region, Russia. He is a specialist in Theoretical Physics, His main works are on basic problems of Quantum Mechanics, Statistical Physics, Magnetism, Superconductivity and Superfluidity. Starting from 1992 he is Professor at Department of Physics (later Physics and Astronomy) of TAMU. From 1998 he was named a Distinguished Professor. His awards include Landau Prize (1982) of the Soviet Academy of Sciences (together with A.Z. Patashinskii) for fundamental works on Phase Transition Theory; Humboldt Prize (2000) for a Senior American Scientist of the Humboldt Association (Germany); Onsager Prize (2005) of the American Physical Society for original and important contributions in Statistical Physics; Landau Gold Medal for fundamental contributions in Quantum Mechanics and Statistical Physics of Russian Academy of Sciences (2018).

Prof. Evgeny Tretyakov is Deputy Director at Novosibirsk Institute of Organic Chemistry, Russia. Tretyakov’s research interests are organic chemistry & molecular magnetism, functionally oriented synthesis of organic radicals, design of magnetically active heterospin systems, synthesis of fluorinated heterocycles and functional materials. He has published more than 200 papers in reputed journals.

Prof Drachev’s primary interests span the domains of optics, nonlinear optics, plasmonics, metamaterials and nanophotonics. His main contributions are in the application of nanoplasmonics for biosensing, nonlinear spectroscopy, surface-enhanced Raman spectroscopy and near-field scanning optical microscopy of metal nanoparticle fractal aggregates. Prof Drachev received a PhD in Experimental Physics from the Institute for Semiconductor Physics and Institute of Automation and Electrometry, Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences in 1995. His current main appointment is at the University of North Texas, and previously he worked at the New Mexico State University and Purdue University (US). He has published more than 90 papers in refereed journals and 8 invited book chapters with h-index of 32 and overall citations of 4226 (Scopus database). He has 5 patents, including near field Raman imaging, plasmonic and/or microcavity enhanced optical protein sensing, and dispersion interferometer, using orthogonally polarized waves. Prof Drachev holds senior membership of the Optical Society of America, and an associate editorship of the Optical Materials Express.

Dr.Ji-Yan Dai is a professor in Department of Applied Physics in the Hong Kong Polytechnic University. He completed his B.S. Dr. Sungjae Cho is currently working in the Department of Physics, KAIST, Korea. He has received his PhD in Physics from Univ. of Maryland at College Park. She is a full professor at the International Postgraduate School “Jožef Stefan” and a member of the Governing Board of the School. Shewas 20 years the Leader of the National Research Programme “Nanostructured Materials,” and until 2017 the Slovene director of The International Associated Laboratory “Push-Pull AlloyS And Complex CompoundS (PACS2) between CNRS, Nancy, France and Jožef Stefan Institute, Ljubljana, Slovenia. She initiated rare-earth magnet research activities in Slovenia and wasthe coordinator of the European project “Replacement and Original Magnet Engineering Option” - ROMEO (FP7-NMP). Her applied research achievements include seven patents (4 EP), three innovations and five successful transfers of technology to the industrial production; in total 701 registered bibliographical units. In 2019 Prof. Dr. Spomenka Kobe was the recipient of the prestigious Fray International Sustainability Awardfor “Leadership in development new technologies that contribute to global sustainable development in the environment, economy, and social points of view.” In her honor, one of the Symposia in the frame of SIPS 2019 (Sustainable Processing Summit & Exhibition) was named “Kobe International Symposium on Science of Innovative and Sustainable Alloys and Magnets

Prof.Rachid belhi (born 1970) is a Research Scientist at Matériaux organization et propriétés Laboratory (LMOP) at the faculty of sciences of Tunis. His current mainstream research topics are nanomagnetism and magnetization reversal process in magnetic nanostructures such as ultra thin magnetic layers. These include also the exchange bias of antiferromagneticferromagnetic (AFM-FM) bilayers. Polar magneto-optic Kerr effect (PMOKE) is used to follow the magnetic properties. PMOKE is a well-established technique to study magnetism in ultra-thin FM films. Consequently, the observation of the domains and their evolution are performed by kerr microscopy.

Dr. José Miguel Molina Jordá completed his PhDfrom University of Alicante (UA, Spain) and postdoctoral studies from Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Lausanne (Switzerland). He has been Professor (tenured) of Inorganic Chemistry at the UA since 2018. He has published more than 75 articles in the area of Materials Science in reputed journals and has participated in more than 150 communications. He has participated in more than 35 projects, 8 of them as principal researcher. He is the co-inventor of three family patents and the sole inventor of one family patent, currently extended to Europe, the USA and Russia.

Loi Ton That, Ph.D. is now an Assistant Professor at Department of Electrical Engineering, Tohoku University, Japan after receiving his Ph.D. from Akita University, Japan in 2019. He received Research Fellowship for Young Scientists (DC1) from Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS) from 2016 to 2019. His research is focused on synthesis of functionalized magnetic particles and their bio-applications, especially in the research and development of magnetic hyperthermia system for clinically-used cancer treatment.

Chiara Ciccarelli completed her undergraduate and master studies at Tor Vergata University in Rome in 2008. She received her PhD from Cambridge in 2012 and from 2012 to 2016 she held a Junior Research Fellowship at Gonville and Caius College. In November 2016 she started her research group at the Cavendish Laboratory with a Winton Advanced Research Fellowship, in October 2017 she became Royal Society University Research Fellow. Since October 2019 she is a Harding Lecturer.

Dr.Alessandra Lanzara received her PhD in physics from Universita’ di Roma La Sapienza, Italy in 1999. She was a post-doc at Stanford University for three years since 1999. In 2002 she joined the physics Department faculty at UC Berkeley as Assistant Professor and since 2011 she is a Full Professor. She is also a Faculty Scientist at the Materials Sciences Division of the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory since 2002. She is a Fellow of the American Physical Society since 2008.

Dr. Rui He obtained her B.S. degree from Fudan University in China in 1999. She received her Ph.D. degree in Applied Physics from Columbia University in the City of New York in 2006. After her graduation from Columbia, she joined the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology as a postdoc in the Physics Department. In 2009 she returned to Columbia University where she worked as a postdoctoral research scientist. She joined the Physics Department at the University of Northern Iowa as an assistant professor in August 2011 and became an associate professor in 2016. She joined the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department at Texas Tech University as an associate professor in July 2017. Her research interests include the general area of Raman studies of nanostructures, especially 2D materials and their heterostructures.

Dr. Nurit Avraham received her PhD, in physics, from the Weizmann Institute of Science. Nurit is a staff scientist at WASP ( Weizmann Institute’s Atomic Scale Physics ) Lab, in the condensed matter physics department, at the Weizmann institute of science. My current research focuses on the study of topological states of matter in various dimensions and material configurations, by combining growth, fabrication and scanning tunneling microscopy and spectroscopy.

Dr. Xuan (Shaun) Hu received his Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the Erik Jonsson School of Engineering & Computer Science at The University of Texas at Dallas in 2021. Previously, he also received the B.S. degree in Electrical and Information Engineering in 2013 from Huaqiao University and the M.S. degree in Electrical Engineering in 2015 from Arizona State University. His research has focused on the circuit design and modeling of efficient logic and neuromorphic circuits composed of ambipolar carbon nanotubes, skyrmions, magnetic domain-wall devices, memristors, and multi-gate transistors. Dr. NUR AZMAH NORDIN was born in Ipoh, Perak, Malaysia in 1989. She received the B.Eng. in Mechanical-Materials engineering from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM), Johor in 2012 before getting her Ph.D. degree in Mechanical engineering from the same university, in 2017. Dr.Yahia CHERGUI has completed his PhD from Badji Mokhtar University in Annaba, Algeria. His research field is Physics(condensed matter, simulation by molecular dynamics). He is a lecturer in Boumerdes University( Electrical & Electronics Engineering Institute) since 2012.
