Celso C. Ribeiro is a Member of the Brazilian Academy of Sciences and a Full Professor at the Department of Computer Science of Universidade Federal Fluminense, Brazil. He chaired the Departments of Electrical Engineering (1983-1987) and Computer Science (1993-1995) of the Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. He was the Director of the Department of Modernization Programs of the Brazilian Ministry of Education (2005-2007) and acted as Subsecretary of Education of the State of Rio de Janeiro (2007–2008). He obtained his doctorate in Computer Science at Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Télécommunications, France, in 1983 and his Habilitation at Université Paris XIII, France, in 1990. He was a President of the Brazilian Operations Research Society (1989-1990), a President of the Latin-American Association of Operations Research Societies (1992-1994), and a Vice-President of the International Federation of Operational Research Societies (1998-2000). His research is funded by the Brazilian Council of Scientific and Technological Development (CNPq) and by the Rio de Janeiro State Foundation for Research Support (FAPERJ). He is the editor of six books and the author of more than 140 papers in international journals and 25 book chapters. He has supervised 29 doctorate dissertations and 37 master theses. Dr. Ribeiro is the General Editor of the journal International Transactions in Operational Research. He is also the coauthor of the book “Optimization by GRASP: Greedy Randomized Adaptive Search Procedures”, published by Springer in 2016.

Ahmed A. Kishk is a Professor at Concordia University, Montréal, Québec, Canada (since 2011), as Tier 1Canada Research Chair in Advanced Antenna Systems. He was an Associate Editor of Antennas & Propagation Society Newsletters from 1990 to 1993, a distinguished lecturer for the Antennas and Propagation Society (2013-2015), an Editor of Antennas & Propagation Magazine (1993-2014), an editor of the ACES Journal during 1997, an Editor-in-Chief of the ACES Journal from 1998 to 2001, the chair of the Physics and Engineering Division of the Mississippi Academy of Science (2001-2002), a Guest Editor of the special issue on artificial magnetic conductors, soft/hard surfaces, and other complex surfaces, in the IEEE Transactions on Antennas and Propagation, January 2005, and a co-guest Editor in IEEE Antennas and Propagation and Wireless Letter on the special cluster on “5G/6G enabling antenna systems and associated testing technologies.”Dr. Kishk was a the general chair of the 2020 IEEE AP-S Symposium on Antennas and Propagation and CNC/USNC-URSI joint meeting and a technical program committee member for several international conferences. He was a member of the AP-S AdCom (2013-2015) and the 2017 AP-S president

Prof. Kishk research interest includes the areas of millimeter-wave antennas for 5G/6G applications, Analog beamforming network, Dielectric resonator antennas, microstrip antennas, small antennas, microwave sensors, RFID antennas for readers and tags, Multi-function antennas, microwave circuits, EBG, artificial magnetic conductors, soft and hard surfaces, phased array antennas, reflect/transmitarray, wearable antennas, and Feeds for Parabolic reflectors. He has published over 385-refereed journal articles and 510 conference papers. He is a co-author of four books and several book chapters and the editor of four books. He offered several short courses in international conferences.

Prof. Kishk and his students received several awards. Hewon the 1995 and 2006 outstanding paper awards for papers published in the Applied Computational Electromagnetic Society Journal. He received the 1997 Outstanding Engineering Educator Awardfrom the IEEE Memphis section. He received the Outstanding Engineering Faculty Member of the Year in 1998 and 2009, Faculty research award for outstanding research performance in 2001 and 2005. He received the Award of Distinguished Technical Communication for IEEE Antennas and Propagation Magazine's entry, 2001. He also received The Valued Contribution Award for outstanding Invited Presentation, “EM Modeling of Surfaces with STOP or GO Characteristics – Artificial Magnetic Conductors and Soft and Hard Surfaces” from the Applied Computational Electromagnetic Society. He received the Microwave Theory and Techniques Society, Microwave Prize 2004. He received the 2013 Chen-To Tai Distinguished Educator Award of the IEEE Antennas and Propagation Society. In recognition, “For contributions and continuous improvements to teaching and research to prepare students for future careers in antennas and microwave circuits, Kishk is a Fellow of IEEE since 1998, Fellow of Electromagnetic Academy, and a Fellow of the Applied Computational Electromagnetics Society (ACES). He is a member of the Antennas and Propagation Society, Microwave Theory and Techniques, Sigma Xi Society, Senior member of International Union of Radio Science, Commission B, Phi Kappa Phi, Electromagnetic Compatibility, and Applied Computational Electromagnetics Society.

Albert van den Berg received his MSc in applied physics in 1983, and his PhD in 1988 both at the University of Twente, the Netherlands. From 1988-1993 he worked in Neuchatel, Switzerland, at the CSEM and the University (IMT) on miniaturized chemical sensors. In 2000 he was appointed as full professor on Miniaturized Systems for (Bio)Chemical Analysis in the faculty of Electrical Engineering and part of the MESA+ Institute for Nanotechnology. In 1994 he initiated together with Prof. Bergveld the international MicroTAS conference series. He published over 500 peer reviewed publications (H=64 WoS, H=86 Google Scholar) a.o. in Science, Nature, PNAS, PRL, Angewandte, NanoLetters, ACS Nano etc, and from his group > 10 spin-off companies started. He received several honors and awards such two ERC Advanced (2008, 2015) and four ERC Proof of Concept (2011, 2013, 2016, 2020) grants, Simon Stevin award (engineering sciences, 2002), Spinoza prize (2009), Distinguished University Professor (Twente, 2010), Distinguished Professor (South China Normal University SNCU (China), 2012), Consulting Professor at Northwestern Polytechnic University NPU (China), 2017) and member of the Royal Dutch Academy of Sciences (KNAW) (board member from 2011-2016). From 2014-2018 he was scientific director of the MIRA institute for Biomedical Engineering. In 2017 he became co-PI of the Max Planck - University of Twente Center for Complex Fluid Dynamics. In 2018 he became (co)director of MESA+ institute for Nanotechnology. He has been editor of Sensors and Actuators B, cofounding member of the editorial board of the RSC journal Lab on a Chip, founding member of EUROoCS, the European Organ on Chip Society and founding director of the CBMS, the Chemical and Biological Microsystems Society. His current research interests are micro/nanofluidics and sensing for health and sustainability and organs on chip.

João Gama is a Full Professor at the School of Economics, University of Porto, Portugal. He received his Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Porto in 2000. He is EurIA Fellow, IEEE Fellow, and member of the board of directors of the LIAAD, a group belonging to INESC Porto. His h-index at Google Scholar is 57. He is an Editor of several top-level Machine Learning and Data Mining journals. He has been ACM Distinguish Speaker. He served as Program Chair of ECMLPKDD 2005, DS09, ADMA09, EPIA 2017, DSAA 2017, served as Conference Chair of IDA 2011, ECMLPKDD 2015, DSAA’2021, and a series of Workshops on KDDS and Knowledge Discovery from Sensor Data with ACM SIGKDD. His main research interests are in knowledge discovery from data streams and evolving data. He published more than 300 reviewed papers in journals and major conferences. He has an extensive list of publications in data stream learning.

Dr. Gao Liu is the Group Leader of the Applied Energy Materials Group at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, specialized in energy storage R&D. Dr. Liu has over 20 years of experience in developing materials and system engineering for electrical energy storage, and has led research projects for the U.S. Department of Energy and industry. Dr. Liu’s lab combines synthetic chemistry, composite engineering and electrochemistry to solve interdisciplinary problems in energy generation, storage and usage. The research team uses advanced diagnostics to understand fundamental and critical issues in energy systems, as well as synthetic techniques to develop new materials that improve overall system performance. The team’s on-going researches in battery and energy storage include Si materials and electrode, electrolytes and additives, and solid-state conductors. Besides energy storage research, the team also performs materials and engineering research in building resiliency, circular economy, and advanced manufacturing. Dr. has over 170 peer-reviewed publications and over 20 granted patents.

Prof. Adam Waldemar Skorek, M’87, SM’90, F’09 completed Master of Electrical Engineering Program at Białystok University of Technology (Poland) receiving both Master and Engineer degrees in 1980. He received a Doctor of Technical Sciences Degree in Electrical Engineering at Warsaw University of Technology (Poland) in 1983. On 1987, he joined the University of Quebec at Trois-Rivières (UQTR), where currently, he is a Full Professorand Director of the Research Group on Industrial Electronics. He founded the UQTR’s Electro-Thermal Management Laboratory which succeeded both the NanoHeat Laboratory and the UQTR’s Industrial ElectroHeat Laboratory founded and directed by himself since 1989. He is conducting the electrical engineering courses for bachelors, masters and Ph.D. students. His research works was granted by NSERC, CFI, FRQNT, MITACS and industry. He published and co-published over 130 papers including works on High Performance Computing applications in electro-thermal analysis. Volunteering more than 33 years in IEEE,he contributed on various positions including the IEEE Fellow Committee Member and the IEEE MGA Awards and Recognition Committee Chair.

Houbing Song is an Assistant Professor of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (EE&CS) and the Director of the Security and Optimization for Networked Globe Laboratory (SONG Lab, www.SONGLab.us) at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University (ERAU), Daytona Beach, FL. He received the Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering from the University of Virginia, Charlottesville, VA, in August 2012. Pierluigi Siano (M’09–SM'14) received the M.Sc. degree in electronic engineering and the Ph.D. degree in information and electrical engineering from the University of Salerno, Salerno, Italy, in 2001 and 2006, respectively. He is a Professor and Scientific Director of the Smart Grids and Smart Cities Laboratory with the Department of Management & Innovation Systems, University of Salerno. His research activities are centered on demand response, on energy management, on the integration of distributed energy resources in smart grids, on electricity markets and on planning and management of power systems. In these research fields he has co-authored more than 550 articles including more than 300 international journal papers that received in Scopus more than 10100 citations with an H-index equal to 49. In 2019 and 2020 he received the award as Highly cited Researcher by ISI Web of Science Group. He has been the Chair of the IES TC on Smart Grids.

Arun K. Somani is Anson Marston Distinguished Professor and Philip and Virginia Sproul Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering and is serving as Associate Dean for Research for the College of Engineering at Iowa State University. His research interests are in design and implementation of scalable and dependable and high-speed computing and networking system, optical fiber networks, critical infrastructure protection, and image-based navigation.

Professor Somani has served as IEEE and communication society distinguished visitor and tutorial speaker, editor of several prestigious IEEE and Elsevier Journals, and has delivered several tutorials, keynote, distinguished and invited talks all over the world. He is a fellow of IEEE, AAAS, Distinguished Engineer of ACM, and Eminent Engineer of Tau Beta Phi.

I obtained my Dr. Eng. (Micro-nano Systems Engineering) from Nagoya University, Japan in March 2010. I was a research officer in the Department of Robotics and Mechatronics, UTM, from June to November 2002. In 2003, I joined the Faculty of Electrical Engineering as a lecturer. I was promoted as a senior lecturer in 2011. Since 2011, I am a Principal Researcher at the Institute of Ibnu Sina, UTM and from 2014 as an Associate Researcher at the Advanced Photonics Science Institute in UTM. I was promoted to an Associate Professor in June 2017. In teaching, I have taught at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia for fifteen years. I teach core and elective subjects that are related to the electrical engineering at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels. My research interests include multi-agent robotics system, micro/nanomanipulation, nanobiology, nanodevices, and single-cell analysis. Prof. Dr. Saad Mekhilef is an IET Fellow and IEEE senior member. He is the associate editor of IEEE Transaction on Power Electronics and Journal of Power Electronics. CELESTINE IWENDI is a Senior Member of IEEE,ACM Distinguished Speaker,Fellow of the Higher Education Academy, United Kingdom, visiting Professor with Coal City University Enugu, Nigeria and Associate Professor with BCC of Central south University of Forestry and Technology, China. He completed his second master’s degree in communication Hardware and Microsystem Engineering at Uppsala University, Sweden, 2008, ranked under 100 in the world University ranking and obtained a PhD in Electronics at University of Aberdeen, UK in 2013. He is listed as one of the Top African Scientist.

He is a highly motivated researcher with a wireless sensor network security book, and over 100 publications. Juin J. Liou received the B.S. (honors), M.S., and Ph.D. degrees in electrical engineering from the University of Florida, Gainesville, Florida, USA in 1982, 1983, and 1987, respectively. In 1987, he joined the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Central Florida (UCF), Orlando, Florida, USA, where he held the positions of Pegasus Distinguished Professor, Lockheed Martin St. Laurent Professor, and UCF-Analog Devices Fellow. His research interests are electrostatic discharge (ESD) protection design, modeling and simulation, and characterization. Currently, he is the Chair Professor and Director at College of Information Engineering, Zhengzhou University, China.

Dr. Liou holds 20 patents, and has published 13 books, more than 320 journal papers (including 22 invited review articles), and more than 250 papers (including 110 keynote and invited papers) in international and national conference proceedings. He has been awarded more than $14.0 million of research contracts and grants from federal agencies (i.e., NSF, DARPA, Navy, Air Force, NASA, NIST), state government, and industry (i.e., Semiconductor Research Corp., Intel Corp., Intersil Corp., Lucent Technologies, Alcatel Space, Conexant Systems, Texas Instruments, Fairchild Semiconductor, National Semiconductor, Analog Devices, Maxim Integrated Systems, Allegro Microsystems, RF Micro Device, Lockheed Martin), and has held consulting positions with research laboratories and companies in the United States, China, Japan, Taiwan, and Singapore. Dr Patrizia Bocchetta is Tenured Senior Researcher and Assistant Professor of Applied Electrochemistry at the Engineering Faculty of the University of Salento, Italy. She has a deep and long expertise (17 years) in electrochemical material science and technology, especially in the field of electrochemical energy conversion, functional materials and corrosion protection. She has authored about 50 peer-reviewed papers, most of them in prestigious international journals and presented more than 50 communications to scientific meetings. She is also co-inventor of 2 European Patents and co-author of two chapters book. She was awarded from Becromal S.p.A (Milano, Italy) for her Master Thesis and from the Hysydays congress (Torino, Italy) for the paper “Preparation and characterization of novel proton conducting membranes for thin film fuel cell”. She has decennial experience in teaching “Applied Physical-Chemistry”, “Applied Electrochemistry”, “Industrial Chemistry”, “Batteries and Fuel Cells”. Her main research interests focuses on (i) electrocatalytic materials for oxygen reduction reaction; (ii) novel proton exchange membranes for H2/O2 fuel cells; (iii) porous anodic alumina: synthesis and functionalization; (iv) in-situ spectroelectrochemistry; (v) synthesis and characterization of nanostructured metal oxides, conducting polymers and hydrogel (nanoparticles, nanowires, nanotubes); (vi) conductive and bio-compatible polymers for corrosion protection, energy conversion and sensors; (vii) zn-air batteries; (viii) chitosan-based materials for energy conversion and sensors.

Farid Medjdoubis aCNRS senior scientistand leadsa team focused onwide bandgap material and devicesat IEMN in France since 2014. He received his Ph.D. in Electrical engineering from the University of Lille in 2004. Then, he moved to the University of Ulm in Germany as a research associate before joining IMEC as a senior scientist in 2008.Multiple state-of-the-art results have been realized in the frame of his work. Among others, world record thermal stability up to 1000°C for a field effect transistor, best combination of cut-off frequency / breakdown voltage or highest lateral GaN-on-silicon breakdown voltage using a local substrate removal have been achieved.

His research interests are the design, fabrication, characterization and simulation of innovative wide bandgap devices. He is author and co-author of more than 170 papers in this field. He holds several patents deriving from his research. He serves as an Editor for Superlattices and Microstructures journal. He is also a reviewer for various journals and is a TPC member in several conferences.He is part of the H2020 review panel for wide bandgap specific calls. Starting from 2019, he is leading the Nitride power activities within the French national network called GaNexT.

Professor Fushuan Wen received the B.E. and M.E. degrees from Tianjin University, Tianjin, China, in 1985 and 1988, respectively, and the Ph.D. degree from Zhejiang University, Hangzhou, China, in 1991, all in electrical engineering. He joined the faculty of Zhejiang University in 1991, and has been a full professor and the director of the Institute of Power Economics and Information since 1997, and the director of Zhejiang University-Insigma Joint Research Center for Smart Grids since 2010. He is a professor in energy systems in Tallinn University of Technology.

His research interests include: 1) power economics and electricity markets; 2) power system investment, planning and operation optimization; 3) smart grids and electric vehicles; 4) power system alarm processing, fault diagnosis and system restoration; 5) artificial intelligence applications in power and integrated energy systems. He has published 700+ papers including 200+ SCI-indexed papers, 500+ EI-indexed papers, and 680+ Scopus-indexed papers. His publications have been cited for 14800+ times. He has completed and is undertaking more than 160 grants and projects from governmental organizations and industry.

Prof Wen received many awards both at the national level and provincial level, including the most prestigious National Natural Science Award of China. Prof Wen is listed in "Most Cited Chinese Researchers" in 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018 and 2019 by Elsevier, and is the author of one of the China's 100 Most Influential Domestic Academic Papers in 2016.

Prof Wen is the editor-in-chief of Energy Conversion and Economics (IET, UK), the deputy editor-in-chief of Journal of Automation of Electric Power Systems, an editor of IEEE Transactions on Power Systems and IEEE Power Engineering Letters, a subject editor in power system economics of IET Generation, Transmission and Distribution, associate editor of Journal of Energy Engineering and Journal of Modern Power Systems and Clean Energy. He is also on the editorial boards of more than 10 journals.

Dr. Khalid Mirza(linkedin.com/in/khalidmirza/) received his Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from The Ohio State University and has over 30 years of management and technical leadership experience in the robotics and automation industry. He joined the Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) Department at Oakland University (OU) as a Visiting Assistant Professor in 2011 and is currently a Special Instructor in the department. He became the Director of OU-FCA Control and Robotics Laboratory at OU which has state-of-art industrial robotic manufacturing cells and is an active research center. In 2014, he spearheaded the creation of the Industrial Robotics program in the ECE department and the formation of an Industry Advisory Board comprising ofworld-leading robot manufacturing and automation companies. He created the curriculum for this new elective for the Bachelor’s degree and established the Industrial Robotics Laboratory with generous grants from the board member companies. Dr. Mirzais presently the Founding Directorof the Augmented Reality Center (ARC) at OU which was launched in 2021 with the support of leading technology, software, automotive, and manufacturingcompanies. The ARC will have a creative and immersive lab where engineering, science, and art students can engage with and explore AR and its applications to industry.His research interests include machine vision, machine learning, augmented reality, robotics, autonomous navigation, and unmanned systems. His main focus is the application of robotics and machine vision for industrial use.

Dr. Mohammad Shah Al-Mamun received his Bachelor degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET), Dhaka, Bangladesh. Then he joined Robi Axiata Limited (Robi) and worked as Deputy Manager, Radio Network Planning. During that period, he obtained a Master of Business Administration (Finance) degree from University of Dhaka, Bangladesh. Later, he moved to the USA and obtained a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University (Virginia Tech) in 2014. During his research at Center for Photonic Technology (CPT), Virginia Tech he developed the novel Miniature Fiber-Optic Temperature Compensated Pressure Sensor. Then he worked as a graduate instructor in Micro & Nano Fabrication Laboratory, Virginia Tech. He obtained a PhD in Electrical Engineering from Virginia Tech in 2019 while working under Professor Marius K. Orlowski, IEEE fellow. His doctoral research was focused on Impact of the Inert Electrode Stack on the Performance, Reliability and Endurance of ReRAM Memory Cell/Array. Some of the key contributions from his doctoral research is experimental demonstration of cell to cell thermal crosstalk and reliability degradation mechanism in non-volatile ReRAM memory cells. Through novel device architecture and engineered inert-electrode stack, he experimentally demonstrated the improvement of reliability and endurance of ReRAM memory array/cell by several orders of magnitude in both 2D and 3D cell/array stack. He has several publications in reputed journals, international patent (pending), presented in numerous conferences and has been serving as reviewer in several reputed journals. He is currently working in Logic Technology Development at Intel Corporation.

Dr. Jianhua Zhang is an assistant professor at ECE department of Clarkson University since 2019. She received the Ph.D. degree in electrical and computer engineering from North Carolina State University and the M.S. degree in electrical engineering from New Mexico Institute of Mining and Technology in 2016 and 2010, respectively. Her research interest is mainly focused on smart grid cyber physical systems and grid integration of renewable energy resources: distributed cyber physical algorithms, optimization and machine learning, smart grid communications, cyber and physical co-simulation, and monitoring and control of large-scale renewable energy systems. She worked as a Postdoc Research Associate at National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) before joining Clarkson University.

Paolo Bernardoni is a postdoctoral researcher in Physics at University of Ferrara and is currently working in the photovoltaic section of the Sensors and Semiconductors Laboratory at the Department of Physics and Earth Sciences.

Mr. Bernardoni obtained his master degree in physics at University of Ferrara in 2012 and PhD in 2016, at present his research project concerns the development, optimization and integration of luminescent solar concentrators starting from the system simulation to the assembly of prototypes up to the final building integration.

Dr. Andrea Gaiardo obtained the M.Sc. degree in Chemistry (Magna cum Laude) from the University of Ferrara, (Ferrara, Italy) in 2013. He received the Ph.D. degree in Physics from the University of Ferrara in 2018. His work is focused on the research and development of gas sensing systems for several applications, including precision agriculture and outdoor air quality monitoring. In this field, he has published more than 30 articles (H-Index = 12, source Scopus - 10/2021), and he has been guest editor of three special issues. He has collaborated in both national and European projects (e.g. ALADIN, MicroColGaSe and CheAria!), funded by either private or public entities. Currently, he is a researcher in the Micro-Nano Facilities group of the Bruno Kessler Foundation. He is also a co-founder of the start-up SCENT s.r.l., which develops gas sensing systems for the screening of colorectal cancer.

Tianfu Sun received B.Eng. degree in mechanical engineering, M.Sc. degree in mechanics from Dalian University of Technology, Dalian, China, in 2009 and 2012, respectively, and the Ph.D. degree in electrical and electronic engineering from the University of Sheffield, Sheffield, U.K., in 2016.

From 2016 to 2017, he was with the Department of Electronic and Electrical Engineering, University of Sheffield, Sheffield, UK., where he was a Postdoctoral Research Fellow.

He is currently working as an Associate Professor in electric drives at Shenzhen Institutes of Advanced Technology, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Shenzhen, China. He is also the director of the Shenzhen Key Laboratory of Electric Vehicle Powertrain Platform and Safety Technology. Dr. Tianfu Sun was the recipient of the Overseas High-Caliber Personnel Award issued by Shenzhen government in 2017 and was selected as a member of the Youth Innovation Promotion Association of the Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2020.

Dr. Tianfu Sun’s research interests include power electronics and motor drives.

Barbara Fabbri obtained her Master Degree in Physics at University of Ferrara in 2011, then she received her Ph.D. in Physics in 2015 at the same University, defending her thesis on the use of innovative organic-inorganic hybrids as sensing materials. After almost seven years as Post Doc researcher, currently she is a researcher in the Sensors Laboratory of Physics and Earth Sciences Department.

Her research activity involves all the key aspects concerning the study and implementation of chemoresistive devices for gas detection: the use of innovative sensitive materials, such as 2Dmaterials and non-oxide semiconductors, but also the deepening of new properties of well-known metal oxides; the study of deposition techniques and activation modes for a more performing implementation of sensitive devices on technological platforms; and the study of new applications for chemical gas sensors, such as agri-food and medical diagnosis.

Bowen Zhang completed her PhD from The Institute of Scientific and Industrial Research (ISIR), Osaka University, Japan. Then, she served as Associate Professor in School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Tiangong University, China. She has published more than 22 papers in reputed journals and has been serving as a reviewer for several journals. Her research interests including electronic packaging materials; elevated-temperature reliability of WBG devices; design and fabrication of wearable electronics and the fabrication of multifunctionalinorganic phosphor.

Sohrab Mirsaeidi received his Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering fromUniversitiTeknologi Malaysia (UTM), Malaysia in 2016.Subsequently, he furthered his Postdoctoral Fellowship at the Department of Electrical Engineering,Tsinghua University, Chinafrom 2016 to 2019. Currently, he is an Associate Professor at the School of Electrical Engineering,Beijing Jiaotong University(BJTU), China. Sohrab Mirsaeidi has published 50+ papers and 2 books in the field of Microgrids and Large-Scale Power Systems.He is a Member of the National Technical Committee of Measuring Relays and Protection Equipment Standardization of China andhas been involved in several national research projects in China. He is an Editorial Board Member for several international journalsand a Regular Reviewer for IEEE Transactions journals. He has also served as Keynote Speaker, Session Chair, and Technical Committee Member in 40+ international conferences. His main research interests include Control and Protection of Large-Scale HybridAC/DC Grids and Microgrids, Power System Stability, and Application of Power Electronics in Power Systems. He is a Member ofIEEE, IET, CIGRE, andChinese Society for Electrical Engineering (CSEE).

AmbraFioravanti received her degree in Physics at the University of Ferrara in 2013 and her Ph.D. in Science of Materials in 2017 at the University of Parma. She is currently a researcher at CNR-STEMS (Ferrara).She has more than 10 years of experience in developing and characterizing chemoresistive thick film gas sensors, from the synthesis of the functional materials in form of nanopowders to the tests of the electrical properties. She has focused her activity on the synthesis and morphological-structural characterization of different pure, mixed and doped semiconductor oxides (ZnO, WO3,SnO2, TiO2 TiXSn1-xO2 (0≤x≤1), LaFeO3, etc) via chemical methods as well as on the realization and electrical characterization of the gas sensors. She also studies theapplicationof gas sensors arrays,principally in fluid power systems and in environmental pollutant monitoring. She was author and organizer of Nanoworld, journey into the world up to -9 (Ferrara, 27/10/2018-16/06/2019), a scientific exposition of electron microscope images showing micro and nanometric structures from nature and man-made technology accompanied by 3D models and interactive exhibits.

He obtained the degree of Master of Science in Electrical Engineering and Doctor of Science in Electrical Engineering at the Technological Institute of Morelia in 2010 and 2015, respectively. He worked as a research professor at the Isthmus University campus Tehuantepec in the Division of Graduate Studies where he participated in projects of Electric Power Generation through Wind Energy Conversion Systems. He is currently a researchprofessor at the Institute of Renewable Energies (IER) of the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM). His main lines of research are the analysis of Power Quality in the Interconnection of Wind Farms to the Electrical Grid, Integration and Control of Low-Power Wind Turbines in Intelligent Microgrids and Analysis of Energy Storage Systems in terms of Power Quality.

Associate Professor Ir. Dr. MalarviliBalaKrishnan have acquired more than 15 years of experience in the academics as well as involvements in the biomedical industry. She received Doctor of Philosophy (Medical Sciences Engineering) from The University of Queensland, Queensland, Australia in 2008. Currently, she is attached to School of Biomedical and Health Sciences Engineering, UniversitiTeknologi of Malaysia. She founded Biosignal Processing Research Group (BSP-RG) in 2010 within the faculty to champion the research, development and commercialization of Biomedical Instrumentation. Dr. Malarviliis actively involved in research related to medical monitoring devices that focuses on detection of neonatal seizure, sudden cardiac death, fetal heart rate monitoring , respiratory illnessscreening device and many more.To date, she has published more than 120 papers. She also received 5 international awards, 12 national awards and many more appreciation certificates. In addition, she has chaired sessions in prestigious conference, editorial board member and technical reviewer by IEEE, EMBS and medical society. She was recently selected for an 'Outstanding Woman in Health and Medical Sciences’ award at the 4th Venus International Women Awards - VIWA 2019, Chennai, India.

Prof. Joonmyung Choi is an assistant professor at Hanyang University, Seoul, South Korea. He received his B.S. (2010) and Ph.D. (2016) degrees from Seoul National University. Prior to his current position, he served as a postdoctoral researcher at Seoul National University (2016–2017) and a senior researcher at Samsung Electronics (2017–2019). His research interests are in the fields of structural mechanics, surface and interface characterization, and multistate modeling.

Dr. Yang Liu obtained her M.S. degree in Materials Science in 2014 and Ph.D. in Engineering Mechanics and Energy from University of Tsukuba, Japan in 2017. She then worked as a postdoctoral fellow atNational Institute for Materials Science (NIMS) and Japan Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (JAIST), respectively. Since 2020, she joined Flexible 3D PackagingLab in Sanken institute, Osaka University. She is currently working on highly reliable Ag sintering technology. Her research interests are extended to bonding technology, electronic packaging and flexible electrode materials.

Nicola Delmonte joined the Devices, Elctronic Applications and Sensors (DEAS) research group at the University of Parma as a post-laurea fellow in 2002. He received thePh.D degree in Information Technology from the University of Parma, in 2006.

Before his PhD studies, he collaborates with INFM (Istituto Nazionale per la Fisica dei Materiali) to setup photolitographic process to fabricate ohmic contacts on GaAs.

His PhD studies were focused on commercial PHEMT breakdown phenomena, high field accelerated stress on PHEMT, microtechnologies for RF test structures with thin ceramic films and on FEM analysis of thermo-mechanical problems in power devices and hybrid modules.

Today, Dr. Delmonte still joins with DEAS group as Associate Professor. His research interest includes design and simulation of power modules and devices, microwave characterization of dielectric thin film and devices, reliability of electronic devices, thermal management of power electronics, PV cells microtechnologies, wave energy converters, and smart grids.

Rodrigo Contreras received the bachelor’s (2013) and the master’s (2015) degrees in Applied and Computational Mathematics from São Paulo State University, and the Ph.D at Computer Science and Computational Mathematics from University of São Paulo (2020). He is currently working in the geometric processing laboratory at the University of São Paulo as a post-doctoral researcher. He has experience in Artificial Intelligence and Signal Processing, acting on the following subjects: deep learning, computational optimization, liveness detection in biometrics, and visual and analytical pattern recognition.

Perla Malagò was born in Mantova, Italy in 1985. She received the Master and Ph.D. degrees in Physics from the University of Ferrara, Italy, in 2012 and 2015, respectively, where she worked on micromagnetic simulations.Since 2019, she started as scientist at Silicon Austria Labs in the Microsystem Technologies in Villach, Austria (AT). Here, she is currently working as a scientist on the design and optimization of magnetic sensors, magnetic sensors systems, permanent magnet, micromagnetic and magnetic MEMS.

Dongyu Li received the B.S. and Ph.D. degree from Control Science and Engineering, Harbin Institute of Technology, China, in 2016 and 2020. He was a joint Ph.D. student with the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, National University of Singapore from 2017 to 2019, and a research fellow with the Department of Biomedical Engineering,National University of Singapore, from 2019 to 2021. He is currently an Associate Professor with the School of Cyber Science and Technology, Beihang University, China. His research interests include networked system cooperation, adaptive systems, and cyber-physical security.

Juan Pedro Dominguez-Morales received the B.S. degree in computer engineering, the M.S. degree in computer engineering and networks, and the Ph.D. degree in computer engineering (specializing in neuromorphic audio processing and spiking neural networks) from the University of Seville, in 2014, 2015 and 2018, respectively. His Ph.D. was granted with a research grant from the Spanish Ministry of Education and Science. Since January 2019, he has been working as Assistant Professor in the same university. His research interests include neuromorphic engineering, spiking neural networks, audio processing, deep learning and computer-aided diagnosis systems.

Dr. Kenneth S. K. Yeo received his B.Eng. (Hons) in Electronic and Communication Engineering and Ph.D. in Electronic and Electrical Engineering, both from the University of Birmingham. He is a qualified Chartered Engineer from Engineering Council UK with the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET). He is also a Fellow of Higher Education Academy, U.K. Currently, he works as a Senior Assistant Professor at the Universiti Teknologi Brunei (UTB), Brunei Darussalam. Prior to joining UTB, he spent 10 years at University of East London, U.K., as Senior Lecturer. Prior becoming a faculty member, he had spent 2 years in industry working as Principal RF Engineer at CryoSystems Ltd where he led the RF development of cryogenic tower mount amplifiers for mobile communication base station. He had also spent a number of years as Research Fellow at the University of Birmingham, U.K. Currently, Dr. Yeo serves as an Assessor for Professional Engineer (Electrical), Brunei Darussalam Board of Architects, Professional Engineers and Quantity Surveyors (BAPEQS), Brunei. His research interests span widely across the microwave engineering and renewable energy fields.

Chuantong Chen received the M.S. degree in mechanical engineering in 2012 and Ph.D. degree in mechanical engineering from Nagoya Institute of Technology, Japan, in 2015. From 2015 to 2016, he was a Postdoctoral fellow at Institute Scientific and Industrial Research (ISIR), Osaka University, Japan; and Assistant Professor at the ISIR since 2016. He is currently an associate professor in Osaka University. His research interest includes Lead-free-soldering, Ag sinter joining, mechanical properties, power electronics packaging, printing ink technology and power devices design.
Dr. Chen was a recipient of some awards and honors including the Best Paper of the Japan Society of Mechanical Engineers and the IEEE CPMT Japan Chapter Young Award in 2017.

Professor Alamgir Hossain received his PhD from the Department of Automatic Control and Systems Engineering, University of Sheffield. He is currently serving as a Professor of Artificial Intelligence and Research Lead of the Centre for Digital Innovation at Teesside University. Prior to this he also served in the Anglia Ruskin University at Cambridge (Director of IT Research Institute), University of Northumbria at Newcastle (Head of Computational Intelligence Group), University of Bradford, University of Sheffield, Sheffield Hallam University and the University of Dhaka (Head of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering). He has extensive research experience in applied AI, decision support system, digital diagnosis, adaptive control and mobile enabled expert system. He has led many large EU & UKRI funded projects as an International Lead Investigator, worth over £16m. He organised conferences, workshops and seminars in over 15 countries. He has published over 300 research articles including 60 research articles as a co-author with the academics of over 15 countries.

Dr GM Shafiullah is currently a Senior Lecturer in Electrical Engineering at Murdoch University, Australia. After completing PhD in 2013 from Central Queensland University, Australia, GM joined as a Post-Doctoral Research Fellow at Electrical and Renewable Energy Engineering, Deakin University, Australia.

GM’s research interests include power systems stability, energy efficiency, renewable energy and its enabling technologies, microgrid and smart gird. He has coauthored of more than 140 refereed published book chapters, journal articles, and conference papers including IEEE Transactions, Elsevier, IET, Wiley, MDPI and AIP Journals. He has an h-index of 25 and over 2100 citations. He has a field-weighted citation impact of 2.51 in the field of Electrical and Electronic Engineering.

GM is currently supervising eight HDR students and extensively involved in a number of projects that include integration of PV systems in remote diesel network; high penetration of distributed energy resources into the grid and off-grid networks; innovative control strategies development for microgrid; microgrid-based power systems for the rural community and renewable energy for developing countries. GM has also been involved in industrial/consultancy projects on microgrid, and renewable energy integration in the grid-connected and off-grid systems and attracted about $4.5M research funding.

GM is a senior member of IEEE and IEEE PES. He is currently editing special issues for Energies- MDPI, Sustainability- MDPI and Smart Grid -Frontiers in Energy Research. He is also the Associate Editor for Smart Grid-Frontiers in Energy Research. He is the General Co-Chair for the 2019 ICPES to be held in Perth in addition to actively involved in few other reputed conferences.

Mariam Ibrahim received her Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Iowa State University, Ames IA, USA, in 2016. She was a lab supervisor with EE department at the Hashemite University (2008-2011). She joined the German Jordanian University, Amman Jordan (2011) as an RA, where she got a scholarship to pursue her PhD studies, she is currently an assistant professor at GJU. Her research interests include discrete-event systems, stochastic systems, power systems, communication networks, together with their control and resiliency analysis, and system model based verification\attack graph generation using Architecture Analysis & Design Language (AADL). She is a member of Iowa Section IEEE Control Systems Society Technical Chapter. She serves as a scientific reviewer in many international conferences and journals.

Reda Benkhouya received the PhD degree in Computer Science. He holds MSc (Eng.) degree of Telecommunications. In 2004, he was invited as visiting scholar at Institut de Recherche en Informatique de Toulouse, France. He was working in digital projects for more than 15 years. His research interest includes Industrie 4.0, IoT, AI.

Dr Farooq Sher is a Lecturer in the School of Mechanical, Aerospace and Automotive Engineering at Coventry University, UK. His undergraduate degree was in Chemical Engineering, followed by MSc Chemical Engineering from the University of Leeds UK. He was awarded PhD in Chemical and Environmental Engineering from the University of Nottingham UK.Dr. Sher is also president of International Society of Science Engineering and Technology. Dr. Sher is working towards renewable energy fuels, advanced wastewater treatment, green synthesis, novel electrodes for hydrogen gas production and low carbon technologies.

Dr. Sher has published several research papers, book chapters and editorials apart from this he is the editor of different international scientific journals. He has reviewed hundreds of research papers for several high impact journals. Dr. Sher has been awarded a top reviewer for Engineering in 2018 and 2019 from Publons Academy.

Dr. Sher is a member of departmental and faculty committees. Externally, he is an associate member of Institute of Chemical Engineers (IChemE), senior member of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE) and professional engineer member of Engineers Australia (IEAust). Dr. Sher is also interested in various forms of community work both within the University and outside such as British Red Cross, where he is a refugee support worker, a school governor and as a STEM Ambassador for youngsters to value them in their lives and careers.

Electrical Engineering Ph.D. candidate at the University of Guanajuato, Mexico. Master in Instrumentation and Digital Systems by the same University in 2018. He holds a B.S. in Electronics and Telecommunications from the Kinshasa Higher Institute of Education and Technology (ISPT-Kin, 2008, Democratic Republic of Congo). His research lines are focused on biological signals processing, robotics, telecommunications, electronics, deep learning, and bio-inspired systems.

Javier A. Muñoz V. received the Eng. degree in electronic engineering (with First Class Hons.), and the M.Sc. and D.Sc. degrees in electrical engineering from the University of Concepcion, Concepcion, Chile, in 2007, 2009, and 2012, respectively. Since April 2011, he has been with University of Talca, Curico, Chile, where he is the actual Dean of the Faculty of Engineering. He is currently teaching in the areas of dynamic systems and his research interests include microinverters for photovoltaic integration to the grid. He has published more one hundred papers in conference proceedings and around 30 papers indexed in Web of Science.

JIE HU [S’11, M’16] (hujie@uestc.edu.cn) received his B.Eng. and M.Sc. degrees from Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications, China, in 2008 and 2011, respectively, and received the Ph.D. degree from the School of Electronics and Computer Science, University of Southampton, U.K., in 2015. Since March 2016, he has been working with the School of Information and Communication Engineering, University of Electronic Science and Technology of China (UESTC), China, as an Associate Professor. He also won UESTC’s Academic Young Talent Award in 2019. He has been selected into “100 Talents Plan” in UESTC。 His research now is mainly funded by National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC). He is an editor for both IEEE Wireless Communications Letters and IET Smart Cities. He served for IEEE/CIC China Communications and ZTE communications as a guest editor. He is now an active member of IEEE Wireless Communications Technical Comittee and IEEE Technical Committee on Green Communications and Computing (TCGCC). He is a program vice-chair for IEEE TrustCom 2020 and workshop chair for IEEE SustainCom 2020. He also serves as a technical program committee (TPC) member for several prestigious IEEE conferences, such as IEEE Globecom/ICC/WCSP and etc. His current research focuses on wireless communications and resource management for B5G/6G, wireless information and energy provision as well as integrated communication, computing and sensing.

Principal Professor of Electrical, Electronics and Telecommunications Department of the University of the Armed Forces-ESPE in Ecuador. He teaches subjects in the career of electronic engineering and automation in the area of knowledge of Automation and Robotics. It also conducts research in the areas of renewable energy, electric mobility and advanced control of static power converters. Participates in international projects such as CYTED, VlirUos of Belgium, and national projects such as Senescyt in the development of technologies related to energy efficiency and alternative energy sources. He is a reviewer for five international high-impact journals. He is currently the Director of the Electronic Engineering and Automation degree, and Coordinator of the Master's degree in Network and Telecommunications Management.

Jaime Paúl has adoctorate from the Technological University of Havana in Technical Sciences in the specialty of Automation and Controls, a Master's in Mechatronics from the Polytechnic University of Catalonia (Spain), and a MBA from the University of the Armed Forces-ESPE. With postgraduate studies in University Teaching and a Diploma in Project Management from the University of the Armed Forces-ESPE.

Konstantinos E. Psannis was born in Thessaloniki, Greece. He is currently an Associate Professor in Communications Systems and Networking at the Department of Applied Informatics, School of Information Sciences, University of Macedonia, Greece, Director of Mobility2net Research & Development & Consulting JP-EU Lab and member of the EU-JAPAN Centre for Industrial Cooperation. Konstantinos received a degree in Physics, Faculty of Sciences, from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece, and the Ph.D. degree from the School of Engineering and Design, Department of Electronic and Computer Engineering of Brunel University, London, UK. From 2001 to 2002 he was awarded the British Chevening scholarship. The Chevening Scholarships are the UK government’s global scholarship programme, funded by the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) and partner organisations. The programme makes awards to outstanding scholars with leadership potential from around the world to study at universities in the UK. Dr. Psannis' research spans a wide range of Digital Media Communications, media coding/synchronization and transport over a variety of networks, both from the theoretical as well as the practical points of view. His recent work has been directed toward the demanding digital signals and systems problems arising from the various areas of ubiquitous big data/media and communications. This work is supported by research grants and contracts from various government organisations. Dr. Psannis has participated in joint research works funded by Grant-in-Aid for Scientific Research, Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS), KAKENHI Grant, The Telecommunications Advancement Foundation, International Information Science Foundation, as a Principal Investigator and Visiting Consultant Professor in Nagoya Institute of Technology, Japan. Konstantinos E. Psannis was invited to speak on the EU-Japan Co-ordinated Call Preparatory meeting, Green & Content Centric Networking (CCN), organized by European Commission (EC) and National Institute of Information and Communications Technology (NICT)/ Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC), Japan (in the context of the upcoming ICT Work Programme 2013) and International Telecommunication Union. (ITU-founded in 1865), SG13 meeting on DAN/CCN, Berlin, July 2012, amongst other invited speakers. Konstantinos received a joint-research Award from the Institute of Electronics, Information and Communication Engineers, Japan, Technical Committee on Communication Quality, July 2009 and joint-research Encouraging Prize from the IEICE Technical Committee on Communication Systems (CS), July 2011. Dr. Psannis has more than 60 publications in international scientific journals and more than 70 publications in international conferences. Professor Leony Ortiz received both B.S. and M.Sc. degrees in Automation Engineering from the Instituto Superior Politécnico Julio Antonio Mella (ISPJAM) from the Universidad de Oriente, Cuba; an additional M.Sc. degree in Engineering from the Universidad Pontificia Bolivariana, in Medellín, Colombia; and is a Ph.D candidate in Engineering from the Universidad Pontificia Bolivariana. He is currently serving as a full professor in the Electrical Engineering Department at the Universidad Politécnica Salesiana, in Quito, Ecuador and is an active member of the smart grids research GIREI Group in Ecuador. His main line of research is the Systems Identification, Fault Diagnosis and Fault Tolerant Control applied to Smart Microgrids. Professor Ortiz has been a coordinator and researcher of various research projects developed at the Universidad Politécnica Salesiana and currently coordinates the project "Resilient systems for hierarchical control of AC / DC Hybrid Microgrid based on fault detection and tolerance strategies", 2021. Internationally, he is an invited collaborator for the prestigious Colombian research program “Energética 2030”. He is the author and reviewer of various scientific papers for high-impact national and international journals and conferences. Additionally, he collaborated as a reviewer and committee member of various international events and conferences. In 2010, he was involved in community work as a member of the Cuban medical brigade during the massive earthquake in Haiti.

Gerardo Espinosa-P´erez (born 1961) is a full professor of control theory at the Engineering Faculty of the National University of Mexico (UNAM). His area of research is passivity-based control of Port-Hamiltonian and Euler-Lagrange systems with application to Power systems and Electric machines.

He received the B.Sc. degree in Mechanical and Electrical Engineering from the National University of Mexico in 1987, the M.Sc. degree in Electrical Engineering from the Centre of Research and Advanced Studies of the Polytechnical Institute of Mexico in 1989 and the Ph.D. in Automatic Control from the National University of Mexico in 1993.

Since 1986 he has been a Lecturer at UNAM and in 1997 he joined the Engineering Faculty where he was appointed as a full professor in 2000.

From 2005 to 2006 he was President of the Automatic Control Mexican Asociation.

Professor Espinosa-P´erez has published 56 papers in international journals and 98 paper in international conference proceeding. According to SCOPUS his contributions has received about 1200 cites with an h-index 18.

His current interest research topics includes control of Port-Hamiltonian systems with application to Microgrids, power converters and electric machines.

Dr. Wen-Yong Lai is a full professor at Nanjing University of Posts and Telecommunications. He received his PhD from Fudan University in 2007. He then joined the Key Laboratory for Organic Electronics & Information Displays, Institute of Advanced Materials (IAM), Nanjing University of Posts & Telecommunications. His research mainly focuses on the design, synthesis, and application of organic & polymer optoelectronic materials for organic/flexible electronics. He is also interested in the exploration of novel materials and processes for printed electronics.

He obtainedhis M. Sc. in Electricalfrom Universidad Politecnica Salesiana, Ecuador, Phd (c) Universidad SimonBolivar, Venezuela. He is serving as Professor (1994-2021) in the Department of Electrical Engineering and Director Energy Research Group of the Universidad PolitecnicaSalesiana, Cuenca - Ecuador, he is member senior IEEE.

He has presented various papers in the International Conferences and National Conferences. His current research area of Electrical Power Systems, Reliability, FACTs and Multilevel Inverters.

Professor Flavio is working on setting up laboratories with IEDs for the development of protection adjustment techniques and automation of electrical power systems, as well as investigating the effects of partial discharges on new elements built with polymers.

Dr Narottam Das received his BSc degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from Chittagong University of Engineering and Technology, Bangladesh; MSc degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology, Dhaka; and PhD degree in Electrical Engineering from Yamagata University, Japan in 2000. His PhD research project was funded by the Ministry of Education, Science, Sports and Culture of Japan (Japanese Government Scholarship). Dr Das has about 3-decades experience as an academia and industrial Engineer in Australia and overseas. Prior to join at CQUniversity as a Senior Lecturer in Electrical Engineering, he worked as a Lecturer in Electrical Engineering at USQ, Research Fellow/ Lecturer at Curtin University, Edith Cowan University, and Monash University, Australia. Earlier he worked as a senior design Engineer at NEC Yamagata Ltd., Japan and BEXIMCO Ltd., Dhaka, Bangladesh. Dr Das is the author/co-author of 8 book chapters, over 165 peer-reviewed journal and international conference papers. Dr Das is a senior member of the IEEE PES and PHS, USA; Fellow of the Institution of Engineers, Australia; CPEng, and Life Fellow of the Institution of Engineers, Bangladesh. His research interests include in Power Systems Communication (Smartgrids) using IEC 61850, Multi-junction Solar (PV) cells, modeling of high efficiency solar cells (renewable energy), high-speed communication devices (semiconductor optical amplifiers) and plasmonics based communication devices (metal-semiconductor-metal photodetectors). He is a regular reviewer of IEEE transaction papers, IET papers, Elsevier, Energies, other similar Journals, and conference papers. Dr. Das is the editor of the books Nanostructured Solar Cells, Advances in Optical Communication, Optical Communication, and Optical Communication Systems. He also a Guest Editor of the Journal “Energies” Special Issue on “Nano-structured Solar Cells”

A/Professor Farhad Shahnia received his PhD in Electrical Engineering from Queensland University of Technology (QUT), Brisbane, in 2012. He is currently anA/Professor at Murdoch University. Before that, he was a Lecturer at Curtin University (2012-15), a research scholar at QUT (2008-11), and an R&D engineer at the Eastern Azarbayjan Electric Power Distribution Company, Iran (2005-08). He is currently a Fellow member of Engineers Australia,Senior Member of IEEE, and member of the Australasian Association for Engineering Education.

Farhad’s research falls under Distribution networks, Microgrid and Smart grid concepts. He has authored one book and 11 book chapters and 100+ peer-reviewed scholarly articles in international conferences and journals, as well as being an editor of 6 books.

Farhad has won 5 Best Paper Awards in various conferences and has also received the IET Premium Award for the Best Paper published in the IET Generation, Transmission & Distribution journal in 2015. One of his articles was listed under the top-25 most cited articles in the Electric Power System Research Journal in 2015 while one of his 2015 journal articles has been listed under the top-5 most read articles of the Australian Journal of Electrical and Electronics Engineering. He was the recipient of the Postgraduate Research Supervisor Award from Curtin University in 2015 and the Australia-China Young Scientist Exchange Award from the Australian Academy of Technology and Engineering in 2016.

Farhad is currently a Subject Editor, Deputy Subject Editor, and Associate Editor of several journals including IEEE Access, IET Generation, Transmission & Distribution, IET Renewable Power Generation, IET Smart Grid, IET Energy Conversion and Economics, and International Transaction on Electrical Energy Systems and has served 35+ conferences in various roles such as General, Technical, Program, Publication, Publicity, Award, Sponsorship, and Special Session Chairs.

Farhad is currently the Chair of the IEEE Western Australia Section and a member of IEEE’s Industrial Electronics Society (IES)’s Technical Committees of Smart Grid and Energy Storage.

He received his Master degree in Networks and Embedded Systems from Moulay Ismail University, Morocco, in 2013 and the Ph.D. degree in computer science from Moulay Ismail University, Morocco in 2019. He obtained during the preparation of the doctoral thesis a scholarship of excellence from Centre National pour la Recherche Scientifique et Technique (CNRST) in Morocco. He obtained his M. Sc. in Mathematics and M. Tech. in Computer Science and Data Processing from Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur. His current research areas are Security and Privacy in Smart Grid, Authentication Protocols for Secure Communication, Classical and Post-quantum Cryptography, and Satellite Communication Systems respectively. Dr Nitin Goyal is working as an Associate Professor in the department of Chitkara University Research and Innovation Network (CURIN), Chitkara University, Punjab, India. He is PhD in Computer Engineering from NIT Kurukshetra, India. He specializes in underwater wireless sensor networks (UWSN), having applications of military operations. He obtained his B.Tech in 2007 and M.Tech in 2009 from Computer Science and Engineering under Kurukshetra University, India. He worked on wireless sensor networks (WSN), mobile ad-hoc network (MANET) etc. He is having around 12 years of teaching experience along with Academic work. He has published approximately 40 research papers in various International/National Journals, Books and Conferences out of which 8 are SCI, 5 are SCOPUS, 5 are book chapters. Also he has attended 13 workshops and 3 FDP. He has guided 7 M.Tech candidates and 2 PhD candidates are in process. He has also delivered 5 expert lectures on NS2, Paper writing, Patents Filing, Innovation and Entrepreneurship. He is a GATE and UGC-NET qualifier too. He is currently working in the area of UAV in underwater communication networks to solve some real-world problems. Also, he is working on projects for the healthcare and agriculture domain. Dr.Vinoth Babu Kumaravelu is presently working as an Associate Professor Senior in Department of Communication Engineering, School ofElectronics Engineering, Vellore Institute of Technology, Vellore, Tamil Nadu, India. He completed Ph.D (in Wireless Communication) and M.Tech (in Communication Engineering) degrees from Vellore Institute of Technology, Vellore, India in 2014 and 2009 respectively and B.E (in Electronics and Communication Engineering) degree from Anna University, Chennai, India in 2005. His area of interests includes wireless digital communications and signal processing. He is the author for the books Communication Engineering and Digital Communications, published by Magnus Publications, Chennai. He has a total of 70 Scopus indexed publications. He has given more than 50 invited talks in various training programmes and conferences.
