Dr. Hector R. Villarraga is a cardiologist at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. He is an Associate Professor of Medicine at the College of Medicine Mayo Clinic. He is board certified in Cardiovascular Diseases, Internal Medicine, and Echocardiography. His research interests include evaluation of myocardial mechanical function by speckle tracking echocardiography (strain) in cardiomyopathies with normal ejection fraction and in cardio-oncology. His other interests include developing artificial intelligence platforms for the diagnosis of cardiomyopathies, as well as, the applicability of virtual reality for complex valve structural cases. He is a member of the Cardio-Oncology Section Leadership Council, an elected member of the CardioSurve research panel of American College of Cardiology, and a member of the Academic JACC Publications work group. He is a former member of the American Society of Echocardiography Research Committee and ASE Writing Group for the consensus on the echocardiographic evaluation and treatment of adult patients during and after cancer therapy. He is an active member of American College of Cardiology, American Heart Association, American Society of Echocardiography, and American Society for Preventive Cardiology. Current prospective trials include evaluation of early cardiotoxicity in patients with lymphoma, breast cancer, sarcoma, and patients undergoing proton and photon radiotherapy.

Thomas Münzel MD, is Chief of the Department of Cardiology at the University Medical Center, Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz, Germany. He is an interventionist and also a vascular biologist and got his post doc training as a vascular biologist at the Institute of Applied Physiology, Professor Eberhard Bassenge, Albert Ludwigs University Freiburg and in the Laboratories of David G Harrison, Emory University, Atlanta, GA, USA with focus on endothelial function and oxidative stress. He is co-initiator of the Gutenberg Health Study, one of the largest prospective cohort trials worldwide and was the founding director of the Center for Thrombosis and Hemostasis, CTH in Mainz. Since 2011, his research group is focusing on environmental risk factors for cardiovascular disease with a focus on aircraft noise and air pollution.

Dr. Edilamar Menezes de Oliveira is graduated in Pharmacy and Biochemistry at the Santa Maria Federal University in the Brazil. She did the Master degree in Biological Sciences in area the Biochemistry at the Rio Grande do Sul at the Federal University in the Brazil. After she moved to Sao Paulo and did PhD in Molecular Biology at the Heart Institute at the University of Sao Paulo at the Medical School of Sao Paulo University in the Brazil. She later became Professor of Biochemistry Applied to Exercise at the School of Physical Education and Sport at the University of São Paulo. She researches in Effects of Exercise Training on Cardiovascular System. She is Associated Professor and Director of the Laboratory of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology Applied to Exercise. She was a postdoctoral fellow with financial support from Conselho Nacional de Pesquisa (CNPq) from Brazil and NIH funded project “Stem cell and cardiovascular disease” in the Dr Ian Phillips Laboratory at the Keck Graduate Institute at the Claremont University in the USA. For her research she received grants from FAPESP in Sao Paulo and Research Pro-reitoria at the University of Sao Paulo and from Ministry of Science and Technology/CNPq in Brazil. She has published 20 books’ capitols (10 international and 10 national last 10 years) and 141publications in reputed international journals and 27 in national Brazilian Journals. She has oriented 9 PhD students, 16 master degrees and trained more than 20 students in scientific initiation and specialization curses. Also, she supervised 6 Pos-doc researcher. Now, she is orientating 3 PhD, 3 students in scientific initiation and 1 Pos-doc.

Prof. Maciej Banach was an Undersecretary of State at the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Poland (2010-2012). Dr. Christopher Cooper graduated Magna cum laude from Wittenberg University with a bachelor’s degree in Biology as well as obtaining several other scholarships and awards. He was valedictorian and achieved Alpha Omega Alpha at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine where he earned his medical degree. After completing his Internal Medicine residency and Cardiology fellowship at The Brigham and Women’s Hospital and Harvard Medical School, including an intensive course in Clinical Effectiveness at the Harvard School of Public Health, Dr. Cooper joined the Cardiovascular Medicine Division at the University of Toledo Medical Center. He was a finalist for the Samuel A. Levine Young Clinical Investigator Award from the American Heart Association Council on Clinical Cardiology. Dr. Cooper served as Professor and Chief of the Cardiovascular Medicine Division at UTMC from 2002 until July 2012 when he was named Chairman of the Department of Medicine. In August 2014, Dr. Cooper was appointed to the position of Executive Vice President for Clinical Affairs and Dean of the College of Medicine and Life Sciences at The University of Toledo. He founded the Cardiovascular Medicine Research Program and the Heart and Vascular Center at the institution. In September 2019, Dr. Cooper was appointed to take on additional responsibilities as Vice Provost for Educational Health Affairs at The University of Toledo. Dr. Cooper is a member of several Regional and National societies. He is a Past President of the Ohio Chapter of the American College of Cardiology and served on the Board of Governors of the National American College of Cardiology. In April 2019, Dr. Cooper was appointed to the rank of Distinguished University Professor which is the highest honor The University of Toledo can bestow on a faculty member. Other honors include Outstanding Faculty Research and Scholarship Awardee, The University of Toledo, “Best Doctors in America” and “America’s Top Doctors.” Dr. Cooper also mentors undergraduate, graduate, and medical students, as well as residents and fellows in research. He was the Principal Investigator of the NIH funded CORAL Trial, an international, multi-center clinical trial comparing medical therapy alone against medical therapy with stenting for renal artery stenosis, which was published in the New England Journal of Medicine, a study that has been cited over 655 times in the six years since publication. He has 101 publications in peer-reviewed journals and 9 book chapters. His research interest focuses on ischemic renal disease. Clinically he is an interventional cardiologist that helped pioneer the transradial method for cardiac catheterization.

I have practiced in India, the Cook Islands (for UNDP) and New Zealand for the total of 47+ years. Recently, I have been practicing in Delhi-NCR (Gurugram) as a senior consultant medicine and surgery, and delivering health education from 2001 onwards. I have nearly 70 publications and have presented my findings, written papers and new surgical techniques over the same number in international conferences. I have lectured in national and international meetings about health promotion, specific health protection, and management needs of today in relation to the pandemic of the NCDs. I am a life member of WONCA and a member of WONCA NCD special group. I have been invited in over 35 International conferences as a keynote speaker and have presented in many of them, and am still due to present at over 10 conferences within the next year. I have produced around 200 videos for the public health awareness through health education and for health promotion, which have been well received and well-liked by the masses. I have been a volunteer all my life, passionate about serving the communities to achieve better health and social structure for our future generations. I am very impressed and appreciative of all health-related organisations for their untiring work, their leaders and the social care teams, and wish to contribute through my experience-sharing and provide services as per my learnt & acquired skills, training & education and experience. I am old (some say), however very fit and healthy and working well as a team worker, a leader and an enthusiast to bring about a long-lasting global healthier society in every which way. I have also worked as a UN Volunteer under UNDP in the Cook Islands in the 1980s, and that has been the highlight of my life when I learnt and practised the role of an action researcher to bring about transformation in three of the islands in the Cooks. My family and I shall always be indebted to the people of these island for their simplicity, honesty and their will to surpass survival in all conditions, difficult and not-so-difficult. I feel, I am very well equipped with my education, training and skills to provide ever-lasting services once again to the people of the global society communicating through written work and visual multi-media endeavouring to spread the good work of the medical fraternity. Milica Dekleva is employed as a professor at Medical Faculty, University of Belgrade and as a cardiologist, the head of Echocardiography Department at University Hospital „Zvezdara“, Belgrade, Serbia. After specialisation in internal medicine (1990), master degree (1992) and doctoral degree (2000), Milica Dekleva attended and completed a subspecialisation in cardiology in 2012. She trained in the field of imaging cardiology, especially echocardiography at the Erasmus Center in Rotterdam for several months as well as for 6 months at the USCF Department of Cardiology. The dominant scientific activities she deals with are the innovations of Doppler echocardiography, exercise testing and stress imaging, heart failure and coronary artery disease With extensive clinical, pedagogical and scientific research experience in the field of cardiology, she is the author and co-author of a large number of professional and scientific papers. Emanuele Rezoagli is Lecturer at the Department of Medicine and Surgery, University of Milano-Bicocca, Monza, Italy and Consultant Anaesthetist and Intensivist at the Department of Emergency and Intensive Care at the University Teaching Hospital San Gerardo, Monza, Italy. He graduated at the University of Insubria, Varese, Italy in 2010 with honors. In 2017 he completed his residency program in Anesthesia and Critical Care at the University of Milano-Bicocca, Monza, Italy with honors. During his training he spent a 2 year period of postdoctoral research fellowship about the role of nitric oxide in cardiac surgery patients at the Anesthesia Center for Critical Care Research at Massachusetts General Hospital and Harvard Medical School in Boston. In 2020 he completed a PhD program in Translational and Molecular Medicine at the University of Milano-Bicocca, Monza, Italy in collaboration with the National University of Ireland, Galway about the potential application of stem cells in the treatment of acute respiratory distress syndrome. Dr. Rezoagli is author and co-author of many scientific papers and book chapters in National and International peer-reviewed journals and books. He is an invited speaker at different National and International conferences. Luigi Russo, MD. Researcher at the Huggins Laboratory, Genzano di Roma, former Cardiovascular Surgeon at San Camillo Hospital, Rome. Specialist in General Surgery at Ist U. of Rome, in Cardiac Surgery at U. of Turin and in Vascular Surgery at UCSC of Rome. He has worked over the years on many topics, Cancer Imuunology, Biochemistry of toxins in several diseases, Artficial Excretion and Hemofiltration, Dysfunction of Valvular Prostheses, Aortic Counterpulsation. He has acted as a speaker in 22 International Conferences and 17 Italian Conferences. Dr. Bosnjak, received his doctorate degree from the Medical College of Wisconsin (MCW) in 1979 and has been continually funded by the NIH since 1981, including the current Program Project Grant. His research has been documented in more than 330 articles, reviews & book chapters, and is focused on patient stem cell-derived cardiac and neural cells. Dr. Bosnjak trained more than 100 pre-and postdoctoral fellows and served on various committees at MCW. He was an editor of Anesthesiology, president of the Foundation for Anesthesia Education and Research, Academy of Research Mentors in Anesthesiology, and currently serves on many editorial boards. Dr. Bosnjak was a long-time member and the Chairman of the NIH Surgery, Anesthesia, and Trauma Study Section; member of the National Advisory General Medical Sciences Council; and continues to serve on study sections for the NIH. Current projects include the work on the fundamental insight into the mechanisms responsible for greater susceptibility of diabetic hearts to ischemia-reperfusion injury using both patient-derived cardiomyocytes and diabetic animals. Another study involves the measurements of CNS biomarkers involved in anesthetic-induced neurotoxicity. This research aims to identify circulating biomarkers that may help identify children, who are at risk for developing learning and memory impairment due to prolonged or repeated surgery. Finally, he is examining the cardiotoxicity of breast cancer chemotherapeutic agents, doxorubicin (Adriamycin) on human stem cell-derived cardiomyocytesand neutrophils. Previous studies have shown that derived cardiomyocytes from individuals who experienced doxorubicin-induced cardiotoxicity reproducibly showed greater sensitivity to doxorubicin toxicity than did myocytes from treated patients who did not exhibit cardiotoxicity toxicity. Bradley S. Galer, M.D., has served as Zogenix Executive Vice President and Chief Medical Officer since December 2013, where he was involved in the licensing and global development of fenfluramine for the treatment of rare devastating childhood-onset epilepsies, including Dravet syndrome and Lennox Gastaut syndrome. Dr Rav Acha graduated medical school at the Hebrew University, and completed his graduating medical scientific work with excellence. Upon graduating medical school, Dr Rav Acha completed with Excellency a residency in internal medicine in Hadassah Hospital, affiliated with the Hebrew University, and continued to cardiology training in the same hospital. During his medical training, he completed Ph.D thesis at the Hebrew University Brain Science Center. Upon completing cardiology training and his Ph.D work, Dr Rav Acha started his fellowship in cardiac electrophysiology at Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH), affiliated to Harvard University, in Boston, MA, USA. After finishing his fellowship, Dr Rav Acha returned to Israel as a senior cardiac electrophysiologist at Shaare Zedek Hospital, affiliated to the Hebrew University. Dr Rav Acha is involved in all aspects of cardiac electrophysiology, doing both clinical service, electronic device implantations and a wide spectrum of arrhythmia ablations. Notably, Dr Rav Acha took the lead in utilizing advanced imaging (MRI) to guide ablation of atrial arrhythmias, for which he is much appreciated in his hospital. Moreover, Dr Rav Acha established a new syncope service including dedicated clinic and various evaluation tests to pursue syncope etiology, and was recently appointed as the head of this service.

Dr. Bright Thilagar is a senior staff member in internal medicine with a knowledge of hospital medicine, internal medicine and hospital quality. Tinen Iles is an Assistant Professor of Surgery within the Visible Heart Laboratories in the Medical School at the University of Minnesota. Her doctorate is in Bioinformatics and Computational Biology and has a background in cardiac anatomy and physiology, electrophysiology, device testing, hibernation physiology, biochemistry, simulation and high-powered computing. Her research interests range from the clotting cascade and computational simulation to procedural development and device testing for translational applications. Dr Rihab Bouchareb is currently an instructor at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, New York (ISMMS). She was graduated from the Institute of Genetics and Molecular and Cellular Biology (IGBMC) at Strasbourg University in France, where she received her Master’s and PhD degrees in Cell and Molecular biology. Dr. Ismail Samer Al-shameri, 30yreas old, from Yemen master in general and vascular surgery, Taiz University, faculty of medicine, Taiz -Yemen I have the ability to perform all emergency vascular injury and some elective procedures as well as vascular access(arteriovenous fistula) operations for patients with ESRD. During the past three years, nearly three hundred operations were performed in vascular surgery and nearly seven hundred operations in vascular access(AVF) surgery. I have a great interest in research. I had published two articles and preceded in a third one. Dr. Andrea Cardona, MD, PhD, FACC, FSCMR, ECFMG. Dr. Andrea Cardona is Assistant Professor at The Ohio State University within the Division of Cardiovascular Medicine and is Cardiology Consultant leading the advanced cardiovascular diagnostic lab of the Todi Hospital, Italy. Dr. Cardona is expert in advanced cardiovascular diagnostics with particular interest in cardiovascular magnetic resonance and cardiac CT with several thousands of exams performed. Dr Hasan Jamjoom graduated with a Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery from the University of Birmingham (UK) in 2016. Dr Cannata is currently a specialist and research associate in the Heart Failure department at the King’s College Hospital – King’s College London. He trained in Italy, under the lead of Prof Gianfranco Sinagra and then moved to London under the lead of Prof Theresa McDonagh. He is also visiting Scientist at the Cardiovascular Department of the University of Trieste. Dr Cannata has a genuine interest in Heart failure and specifically in Cardiomyopathies. During the time spent in Trieste, Italy, he was part of one of the largest monocentric registries for Cardiomyopathies, enrolling more than 1400 patients with Dilated Cardiomyopathy, 300 patients with Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy and 150 patients with Myocarditis. Dr Cannata independently carried out several research projects on the Dilated Cardiomyopathy characterising its natural history and contemporary survival trends, the prognostic impact of sex and the importance of proper arrhythmic risk stratification regardless the degree of dysfunction. Dr Cannata is a passionate researcher, enthusiastic and highly motivated. Author, or co-author, of more than 40 peer-reviewed papers published on international journals, Co-Editor of a book on Infective Endocarditis (ISBN 978-88-490-0566-0) and author of several chapters in books on Dilated Cardiomyopathy, Myocarditis and Chest pain. Dr. Waqanivavalagi graduated Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery, and Bachelor of Medical Science (Honours) with First Class Honours from the University of Auckland. He is currently a Doctoral Candidate in Medicine. Alongside academic interests, Dr Waqanivavalagi has a clinical appointment as Fellow in Emergency Medicine in the Adult Emergency Department at Auckland City Hospital. LONGO-MBENZA B. Benjamin has received his MD, PhD in pathophysiology and MMed in Internal Medicine from the Bukarest Medical Institute (Romania), MSc in Cardiology and PhD in Cardiology at the Free University of Brussels (Belgium). He is a former Fulbright Scholar and visiting Professor in Clinical Pharmacology/Hypertension at the Institute of Lipid research, Baylor College of medicine, Houston (USA). He served for 30 years as chief of cardiology, Executive Dean of Faculty of Medicine and Deputy Vice-Chancellor at the University of Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of Congo. He is a member of 30 scientifi c societies, including: American Heart Association, American Diabetes Association, and American College of Cardiology, European Society of Cardiology and Pan-African society of Cardiology. He obtained a certifi cate in cardiovascular Epidemiology (Netherlands), Ethics (NIH), Bioethics (Oklahoma University) and Molecular genetics (Belgium, Italy). His original research was focused on elucidating the pathophysiological mechanisms of toxic myocarditis and immune-allergic cardiomyopathies. From 1980s until present, most of his research works are related to inflammatory states, oxidative stress, molecular biology, genetics, biomarkers and environmental impacts in Atherosclerosis, HIV/AIDS-related cardiac lesions, deafness (discovery of genes) and co- expression of genes in Pancreas. In addition to his role as clinician, lecturer, academic leader mentor, WHO expert and UN/Climate change Expert, he has been a very productive scientist: Supervisor of more than 10 PhD theses, 25 MSc theses, and 100 mini-dissertations, and over 300 papers published under his supervision. He is currently Research Champion Professor at the Faculty of Health Sciences, Walter Sisulu University, Mthatha, South Africa. Author of more than 350 publications, he is also membership of 20 learned scientific societies and with scholarship and prizes.

I completed my PhD (1993) in the Dept of Physiology, Medical School Ribeirao Preto at University of Sao Paulo (USP) under the supervision of Dr. Mogens L. Glass and Dr. Stephen C. Wood (at University of New Mexico), where we studied the neural mechanisms underlying the coordinated control of pulmonary ventilation and body temperature. In 1994 I worked in the laboratory of Dr. Jolanta Gutkowska (Montreal) to study the role of ANP in lungs. In the same year, I took up my first faculty position in the Dental School of Ribeirao Preto at the USP as Associate Professor. In 2003 I was promoted to Professor. In 2008-2009 I moved to Calgary to visit the laboratory of Dr. Quentin Pittman to learn more about models of systemic inflammation. My current work focuses on the neurochemistry modulating systemic inflammation.

Ph.D., in Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation, Glasgow Caledonian University, Glasgow, UK, 2011. Member of the American Association of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation (AACVPR), member of the Irish Association of cardiopulmonary rehabilitation (IACR), member of the British Association for Cardiovascular Prevention and Rehabilitation (BACPR), member of Saudi Heart Association (SHA). Develop the Cardiac Rehabilitation programs at King Faisal specialist hospital and research center (KFSH&RC), Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Currently, head section of cardiac rehab team king Faisal Heart Institute, King Faisal specialist hospital and research center, and the inpatient supervisor, physical therapy department.

• S. Lale Tokgözoğlu, MD, FACC, FESC is Professor of Cardiology at Hacettepe University, Ankara, Turkey. She is currently the President of the European Atherosclerosis Society and Deputy Editor of the European Heart Journal. She chaired the ‘Atherosclerosis and Vascular Biology Working Group of the European Society of Cardiology’ between 2008 and 2010. Prof. Tokgözoğlu has served on the Board of the Turkish Society of Cardiology and was elected to be the first female President of the Society in its history, between 2014-2016. During that time, she worked with the Ministry of Health to develop ‘Heart Health policies’ and strategies. She also chaired the Dyslipidaemia Working Group of the Turkish Society of Cardiology. She has contributed to several Guidelines and Consensus Papers on dyslipidaemia and Preventive Cardiology both in Europe and nationally. She was a member of the Steering Committee of the EUROASPIRE studies. She has also served on the Board of the Prevention Association as well as different committees of the European Society of Cardiology including the Fellowship and Training Committee, the Education Committee and currently the Research and Grants Committee. She is a member of the Science Academyand a founding member of the Atherosclerosis Research and Education Society in Turkey. She has won the “Prof. Dr. ŞerefZileli “Resident of the Year” Award in 1987; the Sandoz Scientific Award in 1989 and the “Young Investigator Award” of the Turkish Society of Cardiology in 1994,Paul Dudley White Science team award at AHA 2017, Metrodora Global Leader in Science and Health Award in 2020.

Dr. Mamotabo Matshela, is a cardiologist and Professor of Medicine/Cardiology at the University of Kwa-Zulu Natal (UKZN), South Africa. She completed her thesis at Mayo Clinic, Rochester (USA) while collaborating her PhD with the UKZN; and, further completed her Executive Msc with LSE (CVS science, economics and outcomes). She has been research collaborator with the Mayo Clinic. Prior to her postgraduate studies, she completed her undergraduate studies and cardiology studies in South Africa. She has received numerous awards, serves as a reviewer and she is part of a few international editorial boards. Dr. Matshela believes that the main highlight of her career is when she won a travel scholarship to spend some quality time in London, Manchester and Sheffield. Matshela made history at multiple levels, she is the first black female adult cardiologist to have obtained her cardiology certificate through the College of Medicine of South Africa, previously served as a committee member of the South African Heart Association (SAHA) where she was part of the education committee and also served as a chair for the Mayo Clinic Research Fellowship Association committee (educational chair, between 2013-2015). She is also a fellow and committee member of the Pulmonary Vascular Research Institute. Also has a few other fellowships including FESC. Her special interests are advanced cardiac imaging (echocardiography and MRI) and qualitative research. Her main research focuses on myocardial mechanics using speckle tracking strain. Her other research interests include heart failure, pericardial disease, peripartum cardiomyopathy, cardio-oncology and cardiovascular health disparities. She is in a process of establishing few research related registries and hope to make an implacable contribution on i.e. heart failure, cardio-oncology and echocardiographic screening in impoverished schools; and more, primarily focusing screening for CVS risk factors.

Marie Consolatrice Sage Ishimwe, MD, MPH Research Faculty at the University of Global Health Equity (UGHE), Kigali, Rwanda. I am currently pursuing a Clinical Research Fellowship at the National Institutes of Health (NIH), Bethesda, Maryland, USA. My research projects focus on finding biomarkers that will lead to improved and earlier detection of type-2 diabetes in African descent populations. Before joining UGHE, I worked as a Medical Doctor for three years in both rural and urban hospitals in Rwanda. I graduated with an MBBS degree from the University of Rwanda in 2017. I was awarded a Master of Public Health from Mount Kenya University in 2019. I am passionate about contributing to health policymaking through evidence-based research.

Betty Twumasi-Ankrah is a Ghanaian nurse born on the 16th September, 1985 in Ghana. She had her basic education in Ghana.She has a Diploma in Psychiatric Nursing, Bachelor in Nursing and Master’s in Public Health at the University of Ghana. She has Advanced certificate in Nursing Management from Chaim Sheba Medical Centre, Israel. She has more than fourteen years’ experience in her field of work. Her passion towards cardio health started when she was diagnosed of high blood pressure at a young age and nearly died due to poor adherence to antihypertensive medications. After her survival,she started creating awareness on hypertension and its complications in 2015 through health screening and health education.She is the founder“Life from 30” hypertension Group. Based on her commitment and dedication towards promoting cardio health, she was acknowledged as a member of the International Society of Hypertension since 2017. With her robust and innovation skills, she is the first Ghanaian to act as an uber driver to educate and check passengers blood pressure for free when Uber TransportServices was introduced in Ghana. She is the first Ghanaian to write and act a script on hypertension awareness. She is the Country Coordinator of May Measurement Month from 2018 till date She was recently nominated by the International Society of Hypertension last year to be a member of the Women in Hypertension Research and a Board Member of the May Measurement Month Hypertension Campaign. During the Covid pandemic last year she initiated the” Check it yourself Challenge” which is a hypertension awareness campaign that focuses on individual’s self-check blood pressure. Her research area is in to Hypertension and its related complications.She had a paper published in the European Heart Journal on Hypertension Screening in August 2020. Betty is a team player, effective communicator and a goalachiever. She is enthusiastic about learning new things related to health.
