Guoliang Huang is a James C. Dowell Professor in the Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering Department. Dr. Huang works in the broad area of Solid Mechanics and Structures, in particular the new frontiers of structural dynamics, topological mechanics, wave propagation, and dynamical behaviors of composite materials, both man-made and formed naturally, and understanding relationship between microstructures and material properties (structure and material dynamics, and elastic and acoustic wave characterization). His research has been focusing on new multi-scale and multi-physical composite materials addressing challenges in designing of passive and active mechanical and acoustic metamaterials for efficient wave attenuation, vibration and noise control, structural health monitoring, impact mitigation, energy harvesting, bio-sensing and others. Dr. Huang has published more than 100 first class international journal papers in those fields, one book, three chapters in book, and around 100 international conference publications. His research projects are funded by NSF, AFOSR, ARO, ONR, NASA, ARPA-E and major industries. He gave many plenary/keynote talks in many international and national conferences and served as organizing committee members. He serves as Associate Editor of Wave Motion.

Ian Gibson was originally educated as an electronic engineer at the University of Hull, UK, where he went on to do his PhD in industrial robotics. During this time he became increasingly interested in design and manufacturing and the application of technology within university teaching. His first teaching position was at Nottingham University in 1992 where he was introduced to Rapid Prototyping, which is now more commonly known as 3D Printing (3DP) or Additive Manufacturing (AM). Ian has spent the last 25+ years working with this extremely enabling technology to solve problems in healthcare, automotive, aerospace and other industrial sectors by engaging in applied research. He has mainly worked in Asia/Australasia, holding positions in Hong Kong, Singapore and Australia. Gibson came back to Europe mid-2018, where he is currently Professor of Design Engineering and Scientific Director of the Fraunhofer Project Centre. He is best known for the Springer e-book "Additive Manufacturing Technologies", which has been downloaded over 1 million times and as co-editor of the Rapid Prototyping Journal, which has been the leading journal in this field for the last 25 years. In 2017, Ian was awarded the Freeform and Additive Manufacturing Excellence (FAME) award in the US for his contribution to the academic AM community, something that only 9 other people have so far received.

Prof. Leszek Adam Dobrzański, DSc, PhD, MSc, Eng, Hon. Prof., M Dr HC is currently a Full Professor of Materials Engineering, Nanotechnology, Biomaterials, Medical, Dental and Manufacturing Engineering, Management and Organisation and the Director of the Science Centre ASKLEPIOS of the Medical and Dental Engineering Centre for Research, Design and Production ASKLEPIOS Ltd in Gliwice, Poland and Principal Investigator and the Supervisory Council Chairman of the Centre. He is a Vice President and a Fellow of the Academy of Engineers in Poland. He is a foreign Fellow of the Ukrainian Academy of Engineering Sciences, and a foreign Fellow of the Slovak Academy of Engineering Sciences. He is the President of the World Academy of Materials and Manufacturing Engineering, and a President of the international scientific society – the Association of Computational Materials Science and Surface Engineering. He is the Editor-in-Chief of the “Journal of Achievements in Materials and Manufacturing Engineering”, “Archives of Materials Science and Engineering” and “Open Access Library” supported by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of Poland. He is a member of the Interdisciplinary Team for Programme of research infrastructure support within the framework of Polish Science and Technology Fund of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of Poland, he is a Chairman of the Working Group for Country Smart Specialisation No 13 for engineering materials and nanotechnology in the structure of the Ministry of Development, Work and Technology of Poland. He is an expert in European Commission in Coal and Steel Fund and officially represents Poland in COST Action in the area of nanotechnology. Prof. Leszek Adam Dobrzański is also Vice-President of the Industrial Association - Polish Cluster of Innovative Forging Technologies "Hephaestus". Prof. Leszek Adam Dobrzański, DSc, PhD, MSc, Eng, Hon. Prof., M Dr HC, was born on 4th September 1947 in Gliwice, Poland, where he resides permanently. He graduated from 5th Secondary School in Gliwice in 1965. He graduated from the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of the Silesian University of Technology in Gliwice on 15th March 1971, being awarded with the diploma with a distinction. He completed his PhD thesis under the supervision of Prof. Jan Adamczyk, Honorary Professor of the Silesian University of Technology and then distinguished with the Award of Minister, and defended it in 1977. He completed his DSc dissertation and defended it in 1990. The President of Republic of Poland conferred to him the title of professor in 1995. He was conferred abroad atitle Honorary Professor at the National University „Lviv Polytechnic” in Lviv in Ukraine and 3 times a titles of Doctor Honoris Causa in 1999 at the University of Ruse in Bulgaria, and in 2007 at the Khmelnitsky National University in Khmelnitsky in Ukraine and again in 2016 at the Miskolc University in Miskolc in Hungary. He is an academician – since 1992 he is a foreign Fellow of the Ukrainian Academy of Engineering Sciences, since 1999 of the Slovak Academy of Engineering Sciences, since 2005 he is a Fellow and President of the World Academy of Materials and Manufacturing Engineering, and since 2012 is a Fellow and since 2016 he is a Vice President of the Academy of Engineering in Poland. Permanently, in 1971-2017, he worked at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of the Silesian University of Technology in Gliwice, Poland being already since 1967 a junior assistant – as a holder of the scientific scholarship. Having got a job, he used to work as an assistant in 1971-1972, as a senior assistant in 1972- 1977, as an assistant professor in 1977-1990, as a docent in 1990-1991, and in 1991-1998 as an associate professor. In 1998-2017 he was the full professor of the Silesian University of Technology. Since 2017 he is Emeritus Professor. In 1997-2013 Prof. Leszek A. Dobrzański was the Director of the Institute of Engineering Materials and Biomaterials of the Silesian University of Technology, and simultaneously – in 1991-2013 was the Head of the Division of the Materials Processing Technology, Management, and Computer Techniques in Materials Science. In 1999-2017 he was the head of Doctoral Studies on Faculty of Mechanical Engineering in Silesian University of Technology in Gliwice. Prof. Leszek A. Dobrzański was elected, for three terms – in 1990-93 and 1999- 2005, a Dean of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of the Silesian University of Technology, performing also in 1993-1996 the function of Vice-Dean – First Deputy Dean of the Faculty. In 2012-2013 he was the Vice-Rector for Science and Industrial Co-operation of the Silesian University of Technology in Gliwice. Moreover, in 1995-1998 he was also a full professor and a Vice-Rector for Research of the Academy of Computer Science and Management in Bielsko-Biała, Poland, in 2008-2009 he worked as a full professor in the Institute of Physical Education and Physiotherapy of the Opole University of Technology in Opole, Poland, and in 2014-2015 he worked as a full professor and Vice-Director for International Co-operation of the Institute of Advanced Manufacturing Technology in Kraków, Poland and in 2008-2016 he was a Vice-President of Scientific Council of the Metal Forming Institute in Poznan in the structure of the Ministry of Development of Poland. In 1995-2020 he was a Fellow of the Materials Science Committee of the Polish Academy of Sciences (PAS) and the President of the Metallic Materials Section of this Committee, and a Member of several Sections of the Metallurgy Committee of the Polish Academy of Sciences, and Committee of Machine Design of the Polish Academy of Sciences. In 2008-2017 he was a member of the Steering Committee of Technical Assistance Operational Programme with the Ministry of Development of Poland. Prof. Leszek A. Dobrzański speaks English, Italian, Russian and Latin. He is an expert and lecturer of the Association of Polish Mechanical Engineers (SIMP) in the field of Material Science and Heat Treatment, an Expert of European Union in Steel and Coal Programme, an expert of numerous scientific programmes realized in Poland by the National Science Centre (NCN), the National Centre for Research and Development (NCBiR), the National Information Processing Institute (OPI), the Polish Agency for Enterprise Development (PARP) and the Foundation for Polish Science (FNP), and also an Internal Auditor and a Leading Auditor in the field of Quality and he has graduated from the Pedagogical Study in the Silesian University of Technology. Prof. Leszek A. Dobrzański is a creator and leader of the Scientific School – actively created by him new scientific specialisations, which resulted in promoting by him in person of a group of 62 completed PhD theses and next PhD dissertations in progress, as well as promoting ca. 1000 MSc and BSc theses. The published creative scientific output of Prof. Leszek A. Dobrzański of the international significance pertains to materials science, surface engineering, nanotechnology, biomaterials and bioengineering, computer aided engineering materials design and modelling of their structure and properties. His scientific output includes about 2500 scientific publications with others currently in printing, including about 50 books and monographs and 50 chapters in books and monographs, 240 papers in English in journals covered in the Web of Science Core Collection. He is the author or co-author of 57 patents and scientific editor of ca. 450 joint publications, including many editions of the scientific journals of worldwide circulation edited by him in English, as well as of proceedings of the international scientific conferences. Prof. Leszek A. Dobrzański has been cited ca. 13500 times in worldwide scientific journals according to Web of Science, Scopus, Google Scholar and Harzing’s Publish or Perish and also in Poland; number of citations: 14751(GS), 4560(SC), 2561(WS), h-index: 51 GS), 31 (SC), 24 (WS). Prof. Leszek A. Dobrzański has 55 position in ranking most cited Polish scientists of all scientific disciplines and is included to the group of 5% most rc ited Author in Academia Platform.

Prof. Olaf Diegel is both an educator and a practitioner of additive manufacturing and product development with an excellent track record of developing innovative solutions to engineering problems. In his role as professor of additive manufacturing and product development, in the faculty of engineering at the University of Auckland, in New Zealand, he is heavily involved in all aspects of product development and is widely published in the areas of additive manufacturing (AM) and rapid product development. He is also one of the principal authors of the annual Wohlers Report, considered by many to be the bible of AM. His current main area of research expertise is in design for AM. In his consulting practice he develops a wide range of products for companies around the world. Over the past three decades he has developed over 100 commercialized new products including innovative new theatre lighting products, security and marine products and several home health monitoring products and, for this work, has received numerous product development awards. Over the last 20 years, Olaf has become a passionate follower of 3D printing (additive manufacturing). He believes it is one of the technologies that has been a real godsend to innovation as it allows designers and inventors to instantly test out ideas to see if they work. It also removes the traditional manufacturing constraints that have become a barrier to creativity, and allows us to get real products to market without the normally high costs that can become a barrier to innovation. In 2012, Olaf started manufacturing a range of 3D printed guitars and basses that has developed into a successful little side-business (and gives Olaf the therapy he needs in allowing him to make things that are a blend of high-technology and traditional hand-crafting). His main areas of research are in design for additive manufacturing (DfAM), including aspects such as light-weighting, topology optimisation, lattice structures, residual stress reduction, post-processing minimisation. He also have a reseacrh interest in any aspects of rapid product developments, including any tools and technologies that allow us to bring better products to market faster.

Shi-Chune Yao is a professor emeritus in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Carnegie Mellon University. His research interests are mainly in multiphase flow and heat transfer. This is closely related to energy and thermal control industries. He works on both experimental and theoretical research on subjects that are important to industry but are fundamental in nature. Yao is active in the development of micro-scale energy systems using MEMS technology. He models and develops micro-scale refrigeration systems on silicon chips and the two phase fluidics in micro-scale direct methanol fuel cells. As a member of the NextManufacturing Center, he also works on the thermal modeling of additive manufacturing of metal products, including the micro to macro scale. Due to increased packaging density and clock speed, the heat fluxes of electronics are steadily increasing. Cooling of electronics with micro-channels and sprays are becoming inevitable solutions. Yao pioneered the spray cooling technology in 1989, and now the spray cooling is common on military electronics and in super-computers. Presently, his focus is on the use of micro-channel systems for the cooling of electronic chips. Due to the large surface-to-volume ratio, droplets and sprays are used broadly in many critical processes in industry. Yao’s research includes spray transport and deposition, impaction cooling in metallurgical processes, micro-sprays for cooling of electronic chips, and drop combustion and flame propagation in fuel sprays.

Prof Dermot Brabazon is Deputy Director of I-Form, the Director (RoI) of the EPSRC-SFI Advanced Metallic Systems Centre for Doctoral Training, and since 2012 has been Director of the Advanced Processing Technology Research Centre at DCU. He received his PhD in the area of Materials Science from University College Dublin. In recognition of his academic achievements and contributions to the development of engineering technologies, he received the President’s Award for Research in 2009. He was previously Head of School and Dean of Research in the Faculty of Engineering and Computing at DCU and was awarded the DCU Commercialisation Awards in 2015, 2017 and 2019. In 2018 he was awarded an AMPT International Gold Medal for Lifetime Achievements in Materials Processing Research and Education. Dermot is a member of the Board of Directors of the European Materials Forming Society (ESAFORM) and Chair of the Mechanical and Manufacturing Division of Engineers Ireland and IMechE (RoI). His research group have been awarded the NI global award (2003), Wesley Cocker Award (2012), Shimadzu Award (2016), and SFI Research Image of the Year award (2018). Prof Brabazon has extensive research experience in additive manufacturing (3D printing), laser treatments, and material composites fabrication. He leads the Materials Processing Development platform in I-Form. His research outputs include the development of new materials, new processing technologies, and new product platforms. In addition to laser surface modification, the synthesis of nanoparticles, additive manufacturing, matrix composite production, and material phase structure analysis and control, these activities include the examination and development of advanced processing technologies to fabricate systems that enhance the separation and identification of chemical and biological species.

Prof. Jeng-Ywan Jeng currently is a Distinguished Professor of NTUST and Director of NTUST High Speed 3D Printing Research Center in Taiwan. He was received his Ph.D. from University of Liverpool, U.K. in 1992. He Devote in laser, 3D printing, cross-field optoelectronics, dentistry process automation, optoelectronics, patents and other cooperation and research. And also he Devote in laser processing, 3D printing and automation specialties, and integrating laser professional with other specialties in the fields of optoelectronics, dentist automatic chemotherapy, photoelectricity, etc., and even combining industry information and patent analysis, technology management and other technologies for future Cross-disciplinary professional cooperation and research on the systematic analysis and prediction of important intellectual property and technology trends. His research specialties are 3D printing, laser beam machining, Additive Manufacturing, Interdisciplinary Integration, Optomechatronic Integration Engineering, Automation engineering and R&D Management-Analysis of Patent.

Cyrille received his PhD from the University of Montpellier II (EcoleNationaleSuperieure de Chimie de Montpellier, France). His PhD was performed in collaboration with Solvay-Solexis for the preparation of new adhesives, which were tested in industrial scale. At the end of his PhD, he undertook a position with Dupont Performance Elastomers, dealing with the synthesis of fluorinated elastomers. Later, he joined the University of New South Wales in the School of Chemical Engineering, where, in 2009, he was awarded an Australian Research Council Fellowship (ARC-APD). In 2011, he joined the Australian Centre for Nanomedicine as a project leader to develop new polymeric nanoparticles for drug delivery and gene therapy. In 2012, Cyrille has been awarded an Australian Research Council - Future Fellowship. In 2016 (starting in January 2017), Cyrille has been promoted as full Professor at the University of New South Wales and co-Director of Australian Centre for Nanomedicine. Cyrille’s research interests mainly cover the preparation of functional macromolecules, where he developed new polymerization techniques using photocatalysts. These macromolecules find applications in various areas, including in nanomedicine for the delivery of therapeutic molecules and imaging agents as well as in energy storage. Cyrille has published over 300 research articles,including 20 Highly Cited Articles according to Web of Science and 5 international patents, patented by several companies, including Dupont Performance Elastomers, Toso Company, etc. The research of his grouphas been recognized by several research awards, including2018 IUPAC-Polymer International Young Researcher award, 2016 ACS Biomacromolecules/Macromolecules Young Researcher Awards, 2016 Journal of Polymer Science Innovation Award, Le Fevre Memorial Prize for Chemistry; 2015 Malcolm McIntosh Prize for Physical Science (one of the six Prime Minister Prize), 2013 Scopus Research Award and in 2016/2015 Finalist of Eureka Research Excellence Award.

Dr. Nima Shamsaei is currently the Philpott-WestPoint Stevens Distinguished Associate Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Auburn University, where he is also the founding director of the National Center for Additive Manufacturing Excellence (NCAME). NCAME hosts three national/international centers from National Aeronautic and Space Administration (NASA), the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) and ASTM International, and aims to conduct fundamental and applied additive manufacturing (AM) research through public and private partnerships and contribute to standardization and workforce development. Prior to joining academia, Dr. Shamsaei spent many years in industry, including leadership positions, specializing in fatigue analysis and durability test development. Dr. Shamsaei then took his skillset to Mississippi State University in 2013 and initiated a research track in the AM field. The focus of his research was on the structural integrity of AM metals, which is his continued primary area of interest at Auburn University. His work in AM has resulted so far in publishing over 170 peer-reviewed journal articles and conference proceedings as well as 50+ technical presentations including 30+ invited talks or keynote/plenary speeches in the areas of fatigue, fracture, mechanics of materials, and AM part qualification and certification. The U.S. Department of Defense, Navy, Army, Air Force, NASA, National Science Foundation (NSF), National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), America Makes, ASTM International, and several private companies sponsor many of his research projects in order to advance AM technology for faster industrial adoption. He has served as the guest editor for the International Journal of Fatigue 1st and 2nd special issues on Additive Manufacturing in 2017 and 2019 and continues to organize multiple AM-related symposia in ASTM, TMS, and ASME. He is the recipient of multiple awards including Auburn University’s College of Engineering Research Award in 2019, ASTM International Emerging Professional Award in 2016, Schillig Special Teaching Award in 2015, and SAE International’s Henry O. Fuchs Fatigue Award in 2010.

Jung-Chang Wang (J.-C. Wang) is a full Professor and Dean in the School of Marine Engineering (D.M.E.), National Taiwan Ocean University (NTOU), Keelung, Taiwan, and is also the Director of the Thermal-Fluid Illumination Laboratory. He received his Bachelor and Master degrees from National Cheng Kung University (NCKU) and Mechanical PhD from National Taiwan University (NTU) in Taiwan in 2007. He has been teaching and researching on electronic heat transfer and renewable energy for more than ten years. He has published more than 100 research papers in international journals, conferences and patents, and edited five book chapters. His main research interest includes applied and software engineering in thermal-fluid science.

Thomas Usländer holds a degree in Computer Science from the University of Karlsruhe, Germany, and a PhD in Engineering of the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT), Germany. He is head of the department “Information Management and Production Control” and spokesperson of the business unit “Automation and Digitalization” at Fraunhofer IOSB. His research interests include agile system and service engineering, AI engineering, open architectures, connectivity and communication standards as well as sensor data management for the Industrial Internet of Things and Industrie 4.0 where he has numerous publications and has given several invited keynotes in international conferences. He is member of the the expert panel of the Standardization Council Industrie 4.0, represents Fraunhofer IOSB in several working committees on “Industrie 4.0” and is entitled to vote for Fraunhofer in the Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC). He was an invited expert of the European Commission, got the DIN Innovation Award 2017, the Object Management Group (OMG) Application Award 2000 and several best-paper awards in international conferences. Since August 2020 he is head of the Competence Center Karlsruhe on AI Engineering (CC-KING).

Dr. Sima Valizadeh is working as a Director for Technology and Business Development of Additive Manufacturing (AM), at Sandbacka Science Park in Sweden, Her aim is to support the Small and Medium Sized enterprises in north middle Sweden to explore the potential benefits and challenges of AM adoption across products process development. Sima holds a PhD in Thin Film Physics and has over 28 years leadership experience in Multi-Site manufacturing, developing solutions in Advanced Manufacturing for several engineering organizations & industries. She is acting as lead group member of Research &Innovation for Automation Region a center of excellence at Mälardalen University in Sweden. To increase the visibility of women and diversity inclusion in the additive manufacturing industry Sima is acting Women in 3D printing ambassador in Sweden.

Jayme received a BS in Mechanical Engineering and an MS Materials Science and Engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute in Worcester, Massachusetts. After his MS, he gained five years of industrial experience in metal processing and forming of magnesium and aluminum alloys. Jayme returned to academia and completed his PhD in Materials Science and Engineering at the University of California, Berkeley in 2013. His PhD work centered on in-situ characterization of printed electronics for energy storage applications. After completing his PhD, Jayme joined the Applied Research Laboratory at Penn State and his research focuses on quantifying the processing-structure-property relationships for additively manufactured components in both metal and ceramic materials.

Diogo Quental is graduated in business administration by ISAG-European Business School and holds an MBA by INSEAD. During his 30 years experience, he has worked and studied in 8 countries, in 3 continents, managing people and projects. Since 2012, he is focusing on 3D Printing / Additive Manufacturing. In 2012, he was a co-founder of BEEVERYCREATIVE, in 2015 a co-founder of GetReady43D, in 2016 and 2017 he served as iGo3D’s CEO, till he joined Raise3D, where he currently serves as General Manager for Europe and Global VP for Strategy, Partnerships & International Business Development. Dr Jay Daniel is a Programme Leader for MSc Supply Chain Improvement and Senior Lecturer in the Derby Business School at the University of Derby. Before joining Derby Business School,he was a Lecturer (Assistant Professor) in Supply Chain and Information Systems at University of Technology Sydney (UTS), Australia. Previously with DB Schenker, Australia, and Alliance International Registrar, Asia Pacific, he held positions of Senior Management Consultant, Supply Chain Solution Analyst, Project Manager, Industry Trainer and Lead Auditor. Hehas made contributions to multiple research areas in the context of logistics and supply chain management with demonstrated practical applications across a wide range of industries. His research has been funded by government agencies and industry collaborators. His primary areas of research focus areBusiness Analytics and Supply Chain Management, Information Technology/Systems and Sustainable Supply Chain, Blockchain and Industry 4.0 (Artificial Intelligence, IoT, ...) and Healthcare Supply Chain Management. Dr Daniel actively published in leading scientific journals, refereed book chapters and International Conferences. He is serving on the editorial board of several top tier journals such as Australasian Journal of Information Systems (ERA rank A),numerous leading international journals and serving on several scientific/program committees of national/international conferences.He has been invited as a keynote/invited speaker at international industry and academic workshops and conferences around the globe.

Dr. Bruna de Melo received her PhD from the Department of Engineering of Materials and Bioprocesses at the UniversidadeEstadual de Campinas, Brazil in 2019. Her thesis described the biofabrication of autologous 3D scaffolds prepared using platelet and leukocytes-rich plasma, hyaluronic acid and mesenchymal stem cells derived from human adipose tissue (hMSCs) aiming applications in bone and cartilageregeneration. As a postdoctoral fellow at the Universidade Federal de São Paulo, Dr. de Melo currently studies the influence of different biomaterials on the biofabrication of neural tissues using the 3D bioprinting technology, aiming the development of neurogenic niches in vitro useful in neurodegenerative diseases research.

Osman Konuray received his PhD (cum laude) from Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC) in 2018, having completed his thesis on the design and analysis of dual-curing thermoset systems, supervised by Prof. Xavier Ramis and Dr. Xavier Fernández-Francos. In 2019 he received an invitation from the Department of Applied Science and Technology at Politecnico di Torino, where he collaborated with Prof. Marco Sangermano on the development of novel 3D printing resins that are able to cure via a photo/thermal dual procedure, which is still a topic of ongoing research. He published 21 articles including several reviews about his field of expertise, collaborated on a book chapter, gave talks in several international polymer conferences, and co-supervised 3 graduation projects. He is currently employed as adjunct professor at the Department of Heat Engines, UPC, where he teaches undergraduate and master's courses in Thermodynamics. He is also a member of the POLTEPO research group of the UPC.

Abdollah Saboori holds a PhD in Materials Science and Technology from Politecnico di Torino (Italy), where he is currently an Assistant professor at the department of Applied Science and Technology (DISAT). He is member of editorial board of several journals in the field of Metallurgy and Materials Science. Over the recent years, he won several Awards in his field of research. He counts on over 50 publications in the journals indexed in Scopus, being his main research line in the field of Additive Manufacturing. He has been involved in a number of regional and European research projects focused on AM processes and have industrial collaborations with a number of industrial and research centers. The main focus of his research has been in the field ofprocess development for additive manufacturing of different metallic alloys and focuses in particular on the integration of materials and additive manufacturing processes.
