I am honored to be Conference Chair and Plenary Speaker of TOXI2022 at Barcelona, Spain on September 19-21, 2022. This time there shall be one single hybrid conference video + in person under conditions such that both physical and virtual presentations are available to the whole audience allowing scientific discussion common to all attendees.
Concerning the format, we shall have a 3-days meeting
with 30minutes contributions which should
offer possibilities for novel speakers (eg: young scientists) to enter the
meeting. The speakers should be organized in sessions with
a session chairperson who shall organize the
discussion among the speakers and with the general audience. The overall
program shall be established and validated by
a Scientific committee composed by Nuria, Tom and myself and
possibly the future chair for 2023 (to be elected).
This promises to be an exciting mix of presentations
relating to toxicology, drug action and drug discovery. Topics will range from
environmental toxicology to drug discovery, from protein structures to rational
design or from orthosteric ligands to allosteric modulators, focusing mainly on
structure-guided design and molecular dynamic studies to gain selectivity. We
will also hear about exciting new areas such as computational drug design or the
use of natural poisons and toxins as efficient pharmacological agents. This
conference will discuss conventional drug discovery but also opportunities for
more adventurous solutions to new medicines! You are all welcome to join and
contribute!!!
Sincerely,
Prof. Jean-Pierre Changeux

Barcelona is the capital and largest city of Catalonia and is Spain's second largest city, with a population of over one and half million people.
Located on the northeastern Mediterranean coast of Spain, this city has a rich and diverse history, with its roots dating back to Roman times. The fruitful medieval period established Barcelona's position as the economic and political centre of the Western Mediterranean. The city's Gothic Quarter bears witness to the splendour enjoyed by the city from the 13th to the 15th centuries.
The 20th century ushered in widespread urban renewal throughout Barcelona city, culminating in its landmark Eixample district, which showcases some of Barcelona's most distinctive Catalan art-nouveau, or modernista, buildings. The Catalan Antoni Gaudí, one of the most eminent architects, designed buildings such as La Pedrera, the Casa Batlló and the Sagrada Família church, which have become world-famous landmarks.
In 1992, Barcelona gained international recognition by host...Read More
