Dr. Richard J. Spontak is a Distinguished Professor of Chemical & Biomolecular Engineering, Professor of Materials Science & Engineering, and Alumni Distinguished Graduate and Undergraduate Professor at North Carolina State University. He received his B.S. degree in Chemical Engineering (with honors/high distinction) from the Pennsylvania State University in 1983 and was later awarded the Ph.D. degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of California at Berkeley in 1988. He then pursued post-doctoral research in Materials Science & Metallurgy at the University of Cambridge (U.K.) and Condensed Matter Physics at the Institute for Energy Technology (Norway) before joining the Corporate Research Division of The Procter & Gamble Company in 1990. In 1992, he accepted a faculty position at North Carolina State University, where he supervises the Macromolecular Materials & Morphology Group. Since that time, Spontak has published over 300 peer-reviewed journal papers and over 35 scholarly works as book chapters and invited monographs, and his work has been featured on 31 journal covers and cited over 14,000 times according to Google Scholar (as of November 2021). Although active in a diverse range of disciplines, his primary research interests relate to the phase behavior and morphology/property development of nanostructured polymers, polymer nanocomposites and coatings, electron microscopy, and stimuli-responsive soft materials. After graduated from Department of Astronomy, Nanjing University at 1960, Qiu-he Peng was a teacher at Peking University for 18 years and then is teaching at Nanjing University. Chi WU, Ph.D., Director, The Research Center for Food Science and Processing in the Shenzhen University; Wei Lun Emeritus Professor of Chemistry and Honorary Professor of Physics in the Chinese University of Hong Kong; In 1982, he graduated from Chemical Physics in the University of Science and Technology of China. After obtaining his Ph.D. in 1987 and then remaining as a postdoctoral both under the supervision of Professor Benjamin Chu in the State University of New York at Stony Brook, he moved to BASF (Ludwigshafen, Germany) in 1989: first as an Alexander von Humboldt Fellow for one year to do research works under the supervision of Dr. Dieter Horn; and then as a permanently hired staff to supervise the laser light-scattering laboratory in the Dispersion Group, the Department of Solid Stat and Polymer Physics. In 1992, he resigned from BASF to join the Department of Chemistry in the Chinese University of Hong Kong as a Lecturer (British System); underwent a double promotion to Reader in 1996; became a Professor of Chemistry in 1999 and an Honorary Professor of Physics in 2003; and was further appointed as a Wei Lun Professor of Chemistry in 2010. For his significant contributions in profound understanding of conformation, dynamics and phase transition of macromolecular chains in solutions, Professor Chi Wu was elected as a Fellow of the American Physical Society and a Member of Chinese Academy of Sciences in 1999 and 2003, respectively. His research specialty is to combine synthetic chemistry, polymer physics and molecular biology to design and execute decisive experiments to address certain important problems in biology, macromolecules and polymer colloids, including the development of non-viral vectors for gene and molecular medicines; the nucleation of protein-protein aggregation in neuron-degenerative diseases; the stress-induced stem cell differentiation and its biomedical applications; the design, synthesis and self-assembly of functional macromolecules; the structure and dynamics of polymer solutions and gel networks; and molecular characteristic properties of intractable and special polymers. Alexander G. Ramm was born in Russia, emigrated to USA in 1979 and is a US citizen. He is Professor Emeritus of Mathematics with broad interests in analysis, scattering theory, inverse problems, theoretical physics, engineering, signal estimation, tomography, theoretical numerical analysis and applied mathematics. He is an author of 718 research papers, 20 research monographs and an editor of 3 books. He has lectured at many Universities throughout the world, gave more than 150 invited and plenary talks at various Conferences and had supervised 11 Ph.D students. He was Fulbright Research Professor in Israel and Ukraine; distinguished visiting professor in Mexico and Egypt; Mercator Professor in Germany; Research Professor in France; invited plenary speaker at the 7-th PACOM; he won Khwarizmi international award in 2004 and received other honors. A.G.Ramm was the first to prove uniqueness of the solution to inverse scattering problems with fixed-energy scattering data; the first to prove uniqueness of the solution to inverse scattering problems with non-over-determined scattering data and the first to study inverse scattering problems with under-determined scattering data. He studied inverse scattering problems for potential scattering and for scattering by obstacles. He solved many specific inverse problems and developed new methods and ideas in the area of inverse scattering problems. He introduced the notion of Property C for a pair of differential operators and applied Property C for one-dimensional and multi-dimensional inverse scattering problems. A. G. Ramm solved many-body wave scattering problem when the bodies are small particles of arbitrary shapes, assuming that a  d  λ, where a is the characteristic size of the particles, d is the minimal distance between neighboring particles, and λ is the wavelength in the material in which the small particles are embedded. Multiple scattering is essential under these assumptions. He used this theory to give a recipe for creating materials with a desired refraction coefficient and materials with a desired wave-focusing property. These results attracted attention of the scientists working in nanotechnology. A. G. Ramm gave formulas for the scattering amplitude for scalar and electromagnetic waves by small bodies of arbitrary shapes and analytical formulas for the polarizability tensors for these bodies. A. G. Ramm gave a solution to the Pompeiu problem, proved the Schiffer’s conjecture and gave many results about symmetry problems for PDE, including first symmetry results in harmonic analysis. A. G. Ramm has developed the Dynamical Systems Method (DSM) for solving linear and nonlinear operator equations, especially ill-posed. These results were used numerically and demonstrated practical efficiency of the DSM. A. G. Ramm developed random fields estimation theory for a wide class of random fields. A. G. Ramm has developed a theory of convolution equations with hyper-singular integrals and solved analytically integral equations with hyper-singular kernels. These results he applied to the study of the NSP (Navier-Stokes problem) and resulted in a solution to the millennium problem concerning the Navier-Stokes equations. A. G. Ramm formulated and proved the NSP paradox which shows the contradictory nature of the NSP and the non-existence of its solution on the interval t ∈ [0, ∞) for the initial data v0(x) 6≡ 0 and f(x, t) = 0. A. G. Ramm has introduced a wide class of domains with non-compact boundaries. He studied the spectral properties of the Schr¨odinger operators in this class of such domains and gave suffient conditions for the absence of eigenvalues on the continuous spectrum of these operators. A. G. Ramm developed the theory of local, pseudolocal and geometrical tomography. He has proved a variety of the results concerning singularities of the Radon transform and developed multidimensional algorithms for finding discontinuities of signals from noisy discrete data.

Dr. Daoud is Associate Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at City University of Hong Kong. He graduated from the University of Technology Graz, Austria, with a Dipl-Ing degree (BS and MS) in Chemical Engineering and received his PhD in flexible bilayer photovoltaic cells from the University of Sheffield, UK. Dr Daoud’s current research is mainly focused on the areas of energy harvesting and smart wearable technologies. His group is developing approaches for harvesting free or waste energy, such as light and kinetic energies. Being intermittent sources, it is equally important to find storage solutions for this form of energy. Therefore, the group is interested in the modelling and design of compatible flow batteries. Prof. Oleg Figovsky is the founder and R&D the Polymate Ltd. - International Nanotechnology Research Centre where he is working on research in nanostructured corrosion-resistant composite materials and protective coatings based on a polymer and silicate matrix. Omar Chaalal is a Professor of Chemical Engineering at Abu Dhabi University (ADU). Chaalal is an internationally renowned expert in the separation technologies. He is the inventor of the EnPro Process that deals with the sequestration of carbon dioxide and global warming reduction. He has undertaken several successful research related to CO2 cleaning in Natural Gas and subsequently two patents applications have been filed for the use of this technology. The benefits of these patents were, in addition to the environmental benefits, used in the treatment of large quantities of desalinated formation water in the oil field. Chaalal has pioneered among others the use of seawater and ammonia to reduce the effect of carbon dioxide on the environment. Recently, 2020-2022, professor Chaalal supervised the testing of Tritonite and conducted works on the strength, the permeability, the workability, air content, water absorption and heat conduction for concrete when the chemical tritonite is added. Professor Chaalal was the Chief Scientist of Enpro As. Norway, a member of Al Mobdioon Center of Excellence and innovation of King Abdul Aziz University (Saudi Arabia), an Advisory Board of IIB environmental Company in Japan and a member of the board of several scientific journals. Jamal Davoodi was born in Iran in 1969. He received his B.S. degree in Applied Physics from the Tabriz University, M. Sergey Ivashov, PhD, graduated from Space Research faculty, Moscow Institute of Physics & Technology, with honors in 1972; as post-graduate student he had successfully submitted the thesis for a PhD degree in 1975. He worked as a scientific researcher in rocket industry of the USSR in 1975-1977. Since 1977 up to 2000 he had been working in the Central Scientific and Research Institute of Radio & Electronic systems, Moscow, as a senior scientific fellow and thereafter he had been promoted for a head of Laboratory. From January 2001 up to now he is the head of the Remote Sensing Laboratory at the Bauman Moscow State Technical University, Moscow. Under his leadership, the RASCAN-5 holographic subsurface radar was developed and put into serial production, which is sold to many countries of the world. The air reconnaissance of mine fields and development of radar sensors for mine’s detection related to humanitarian demining operations are also included in area of his scientific interests.

Vladimir V. Rumyantsev is Head of Department of Theory of Complex Systems Dynamic Properties at A.A. Galkin Donetsk Institute for Physics and Engineering (DonIPE). He is Professor of Theoretical Physics and Nanotechnology Department at Donetsk National University (DonNU). He received PhD in Theoretical Physics (1988) from DonNU and Dr. Sci. in Condensed Matter Physics (2007) from DonIPE. Prof. Rumyantsev has authored/co-authored 4 books, 2 chapters in books and more than 340 scientific publications. He is a member of Mediterranean Institute of Fundamental Physics (MIFP, Italy)as well as American Physical Society (USA). Research Interest Current research interests include various aspects of solid state physics, crystallooptics, photonics of imperfect structures; more particularly - theoretical study of the dispersion of electromagnetic excitations in non-ideal lattices of coupled microcavities containing quantum dots.

Dr. J. C. Tarafdar did his M. Sc. and Ph. D. degrees in Soil Science and Agricultural Chemistry from Indian Agricultural Research Institute, New Delhi and Post Doctorate from Institute of Agricultural Chemistry, Goettingen, Germany. He has made original and well recognized contribution on mobilization of native phosphorus. He has developed an in-vivo filter paper technique for phosphatase estimation. He is successfully developed biosynthesized nano nutrients and nano induced polysaccharide powder for agricultural use. He also developed a sequential P fractionation scheme and a rapid method for assessment of plant residue quality. Dr. Tarafdar has pioneered in finding out the origin of different phosphatase fractions and also developed a potential biological indicator. His developed notable other techniques are: Visual demonstration technique of germinating AM spore, Soil solarization technique for mass scale production of AM fungi, Freeze-drying technique to understand nutrient movement and Electrofoccusing technique to demonstrate the origin of enzymes. Dr. Tarafdar has published 379 research articles in national and international journals which include 42 book chapters and five books. He has four patents and 73 new organisms in his credit. He has to his credits >8600 citations and 44 h-index. Dr. Tarafdar has been placed amongst the top 2% scientists, across all sciences in the world, by Stanford University, USA.

Payam Arabkhani is a chemist and a member of the Royal Society of Chemistry who has conducted cutting-edge research in the water treatment field. His research targets the development of novel nanomaterials for adsorptive removal and photodegradation of emerging water contaminates, including pharmaceutical residues, agricultural pesticides, and synthetic textile dyes from contaminated waters. His research collaborations have led tothe publishing of over 20 scientific papers in some top-ranked journals in the field. He currently serves as a reviewer invarious prestigious journals from Elsevier, ACS, RSC, Springer-Nature, and many other internationally well-known publishers. He also serves as an early career editorial board member for the Journal of Water Process Engineering (Elsevier), one of the leading journals on the subject of water treatment that publish of high impact research on the sustainable engineering of water and wastewater treatment processes.
