Prof. Y-h. Taguchi, currently Professor at Department of Physics, Chuo University, Tokyo, Japan, received Dr. Sci, in 1988 from Tokyo Institute of Technology. He has published more than 100 peer reviewed papers and a monograph from Springer. He also serves as academic editors of various academic journals including PLoS ONE, Frontiers in Genetics and BMC Medical Genomics.

Dr. Matin has been a full professor in Stanford Medical School for several years and is affiliated with several programs, including the Stanford Cancer Research Institute; he elected to become emeritus, July 1, ‘21. His research contributions are numerous, including discovery of new drugs, therapeutic enzymes, and their improvement as well as their specific targeting to cancer (and other diseases). He did his Ph. D. at UCLA, spent some years in the Netherlands (State University of Groningen), where he directed a research group, before joining Stanford. He is recipient of numerous awards and honors.

Dr. Carlos Cordon-Cardo earned his medical degree from the Autonomous University of Barcelona (1980), and his PhD in Cell Biology and Genetics from Cornell University (1985). Dr. Cordon-Cardo is Professor and Chair System-Wide of the Department of Pathology, Molecular and Cell-Based Medicine at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai Health System. He was previously Professor and Vice-Chair of Pathology at Columbia University; and from 1987 to 2006 a faculty member in the Department of Pathology at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, where he created the Division of Molecular Pathology and served as its first Director; scaling the academic ranks from Assistant to Professor of Pathology at Weill Cornell Medical College, Cornell University. A pioneer of the oncologic molecular pathology discipline, Dr. Cordon-Cardo has helped establish a deeper understanding of the mechanisms of human cancers and new targets for cancer therapeutics, enhancing the vision of personalized medicine. His analyses of multi-drug resistance and alterations of tumor suppressor genes in human cancer have led to extraordinary breakthroughs in the way scientists understand and investigate the progression of certain solid-tumor cancers. More recently, studies from his laboratory have linked adult stem cells and cancer, reporting the discovery of a subpopulation of tumor initiating cells with stem properties which are also related to chemoresistance, immune-escape mechanism, and metastatic spread. He has developed and implemented a novel “systems pathology” platform, using artificial intelligence tools including deep-learning and novel algorithms, generating highly accurate mathematical models of cancer with the goal of optimizing treatment and improving patient outcome. During the present COVID-19 pandemic he designed and implemented a laboratory testing platform that includes qualitative and quantitative assays for viral SARS-CoV-2 detection and diagnosis, as well as qualitative and quantitative antibody testing for monitoring immunity and selection of antibody-rich convalescent individuals as potential plasma donors. The serology tests were given emergency use authorization (EUA) from both the New York State Department of Health (NYSDOH) and the FDA, as well as the CE-markering as an in vitro diagnostic device by the European Union. Under his leadership, over 250 autopsies of deceased COVID-19 patients were performed, being the largest series documented to date, and revealing novel pathophysiology stages of the disease. Dr. Cordon-Cardo is Principal Investigator on several National Cancer Institute grants, and has received uninterrupted NIH/NCI funding for the past 30 years. Dr. Cordon-Cardo has lectured widely and is one of the “Highly Cited Authors” by the Institute of Scientific Information, one of the “Highly Influential Biomedical Researchers” (one of the top 400 over 15,153,100 author identifiers) by the European Society for Clinical Investigation; and one of the top “List of 500 Most Highly Cited Researchers Worldwide,” Google Scholar(107,162; h-index 163; i10-index 537 - as of 07/07/2021).Dr. Cordon-Cardo holds 32 filed patents, including granted and pending, in the fields of medical diagnostics and therapeutics; and his work has been quoted in over 350,000 scholarly citations, including 8,069 patent citations (https://www.lens.org).Committed to educating the newest generation of scientists in his field, Dr. Cordon-Cardo has mentored over 70 investigators throughout his career. Vladimir Torchilin got his M.S, Ph.D., and D.Sc. degrees from the Moscow State University and serves currently a University Distinguished Professor and Director, Center for Pharmaceutical Biotechnology and Nanomedicine, Northeastern University, Boston. He has published more than 450 original papers, more than 200 reviews and book chapters, wrote and edited 15 books, and holds more than 40 patents. He is Editor-in-Chief of Current Drug Discovery Technologies, and Drug Delivery, Co-Editor of Current Pharmaceutical Biotechnology and on the Editorial Boards of many other journals. He has multiple honors and awards and in 2011, Times Higher Education ranked him number 2 among top world scientists in pharmacology for the period of 2000-2010. In 2021 Elsevier/Stanford analysis ranked him as a single highest-cited researcher among more than 130,000 ranked researches and the area of Pharmacology/Pharmacy.

Alexander G. Ramm was born in Russia, emigrated to USA in 1979 and is a US citizen. He is Professor of Mathematics with broad interests in analysis, scattering theory, inverse problems, theoretical physics, engineering, signal estimation, tomography, theoretical numerical analysis and applied mathematics. He is an author of 712 research papers, 20 research monographs and an editor of 3 books. He has lectured in many Universities throughout the world, gave more than 150 invited and plenary talks at various Conferences and had supervised 11 Ph.D students. He was Fulbright Research Professor in Israel and in Ukraine; distinguished visiting professor in Mexico and Egypt; Mercator professor in Germany; invited plenary speaker at the 7-th PACOM; he won Khwarizmi international award in 2004 and received many other honors. A.G.Ramm has solved inverse scattering problems with fixed-energy scattering data; with non-over determined scattering data and studied scattering problems with under-determined scattering data. He solved many specific inverse problems and developed new methods in this area. He solved the many-body wave scattering problem when the bodies are small particles of arbitrary shapes and used this theory to give a recipe for creating materials with a desired refraction coefficient. These results attracted attention of the scientists working in nanotechnology. He gave formulas for the scattering amplitude for scalar and electromagnetic waves by small bodies of arbitrary shapes and formulas for the polarizability tensors for such bodies. He gave a solution to the Pompeiu problem; proved the Schiffer’s conjecture and gave first symmetry results in harmonic analysis. He has developed the Dynamical Systems Method (DSM) for solving linear and non-linear operator equations, especially ill-posed. He developed a random fields estimation theory. A. G. Ramm has developed a theory of convolution equations with hyper-singular integrals. He studied the spectral properties of the Schrodinger's operators in domains with non-compact boundaries and gave sufficient conditions for the absence of eigenvalues on the continuous spectrum of these operators. A. G. Ramm solved one of the millennium problems concerning the Navier-Stokes problem (NSP) and proved a paradox in the NSP which shows the contradictory nature of the NSP and the non-existence of its solution on the interval t ∈ [0, ∞) for the initial data v0(x) 6≡ 0 and f(x, t) = 0.

Ayyalusamy Ramamoorthy is the Robert W. Dr. Simmons is the Director of the Biological Systems and Engineering Division at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory (biosciences.lbl.gov). Jingwei Xie received his B.S. and M.S. from Nanjing University of Technology, China, and his Ph.D. from the National University of Singapore (2007). He worked as a postdoctoral fellow in the Xia group at Washington University in St. Louis. He is currently a Professor in the Department of Surgery‐Transplant and Holland Regenerative Medicine Program at University of Nebraska Medical Center. He is also an adjunct Faculty in the Department of Mechanical & Materials Engineering at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. He has won a number of awards including UNMC New Investigator Award 2015, Most Promising Invention Award 2017, Licensed Technology Award 2017 and 2018, Dr. Harold & Beverly Maurer Scientific Achievement Award, The Nebraska Coalition for Lifesaving Cures 2019,WashU patent award 2019 and 2020, and UNMC Distinguished Scientist Award 2020. His research interests include biomaterials, drug delivery, nanomedicine, tissue engineering, regenerative medicine, wound infection and healing, and hemostasis.

Daniela Cardone obtained a Master's Degree in Biomedical Engineering at the La Sapienza University of Rome in 2009. In 2013, she obtained the title of Ph.D. in Neuroscience and Neuroimaging at the University "G. d’Annunzio "of Chieti-Pescara. Since March 2020, she has the role of Research Fellow for the PON ADAS + project "Development of advanced technologies and systems for car safety through ADAS platforms" at the Department of Neuroscience, Imaging and Clinical Sciences of the University of "G. d’Annunzio "of ChietiPescara. Her research work mainly concerns the development of processing methods and analysis of images and physiological signals, of various nature. Her main activity concerns, in particular, thermal infrared (IR) imaging. In this context, she developed real-time tracking algorithms for specific areas of interest and IR image morphing methods on anatomical templates. She also dealt with the realization of image fusion algorithms between visible and thermal images. More recently, her research has focused on affective computing and human-machine interaction, with particular reference to the automotive research field.

Takahito Ohshiro was born in Shizuoka, Japan, in 1973. He received the PhD degree on a study of single-molecule biopolymer electrical detection (“STM Molecular Tips for Electrically Pinpointing Complementary Nucleobases”) from the University of Tokyo, Japan, 2008. From 2009, he has worked at the following institutions and company, including, University of Tokyo, RIKEN, and Osaka university, and the university-launched venture company of next-generation single-molecule sequencer (Quantum biosystems). From 2016, he is an Associate Professor, the ISIR, Osaka University, Japan. His research areas include analytical chemistry, nanotechnology, artificial intelligence, nanobio-device, surface science, molecular biology. His main research interest is to develop a single-molecule electrical detection system by using solid-state nano-devices. Based on the system, he has reported a single-molecular electrical sequencing method for biopolymers such as DNA, RNA, peptide and so on. These studies are published in the peer-reviewed journal including Nature Nanotechnology, Scientific Reports, PNAS, and so on.

Vakhtang Barbakadze has his expertise in isolation and structure elucidation of a new series of plant polyethers, which are endowed with pharmacological properties as anticancer agents. Besides, he interested in enantioselective synthesis and biological activities of basic monomeric moiety of these biopolyethers, synthesis of enantiomerically pure epoxides as chiral building blocks for the production of synthetic analogues of natural polyethers. In 1978 and 1999 he has completed his Ph.D and D.Sci., respectively. In 2006 up to date he is the Head of Department of Plant biopolymers and Chemical Modification at Tbilisi State Medical University Institute of Pharmacochemistry. In 1996 and 2002 he has been a visiting scientist at Utrecht University, The Netherlands, by University Scholarship and The Netherlands organization for scientific research (NWO) Scholarship Scientific Program, respectively. He has published more than 100 papers in reputed journals. In 2004 he was Georgian State Prize Winner in Science and Technology.

Raoul Rashid Nigmatullin received his Master Degree on specialization of theoretical physics from Kazan State University, Russia. In 1995 and 1996 he won twice the competition among Russian and Ex-Soviet Union scientists, working in the universities of Moscow, S-Petersburg, Novosibirsk, Tomsk and other leading universities and got the financial support from the International Soros Fund for two years to continue his scientific and pedagogical activity in Kazan University. Recently the American Biographical Institute selected his biography for the book "The Contemporary Who's Who" (Who's Making a Difference) 2002/2003, 2005/2007 issues. Now he is author of more than 200 publications in various branches of physics including quantum theory of magnetism, equilibrium and non-equilibrium statistical physics, physics of dielectrics and fractal physics. Half of these publications enter in the SCOPUS and Web of Science databases. He is well-cited scientist among other leading Russian scientists actively working in the modern science. In accordance with the ISI (International Scientific Institute) version his total citation index CItot = 2026 and his Hirsch index equals 22. The maximal citation of one paper is 152. He is a Member of International Dielectric Society (2000 year-Present) (up to 01/03 2014) Physical Society of Kazan State University. He got a Russian Grant –Scientific Support of the potential of the high Russian schools (2006-2007) 2005-2013 years "The development of Russian Scientific Potential" of the Leading Universities of Russia". Present he is a Full Professor of the Radio-electronics and Informative-Measurements Technics Department KNRTU-KAI.

Dariusz Jacek Jakóbczak was born in Koszalin, Poland, on December 30, 1965. He graduated in mathematics (numerical methods and programming) from the University of Gdansk, Poland in 1990. He received the Ph.D. degree in 2007 in computer science from the Polish – Japanese Institute of Information Technology, Warsaw, Poland. From 1991 to 1994 he was a civilian programmer in the High Military School in Koszalin. He was a teacher of mathematics and computer science in the Private Economic School in Koszalin from 1995 to 1999. Since March 1998 he has worked in the Department of Electronics and Computer Science, Koszalin University of Technology, Poland and since October 2007 he has been an Assistant Professor in the Chair of Computer Science and Management in this department. His research interests connect mathematics with computer science and include computer vision, artificial intelligence, shape representation, curve interpolation, contour reconstruction and geometric modeling, numerical methods, probabilistic methods, game theory, operational research and discrete mathematics.

Dr. Guojun Chen is an Assistant Professor in Biomedical Engineering at McGill University. Dr. Chen obtained his doctoral degree at the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2017. He received postdoctoral training at UCLA before he joined McGill University in 2021. His research focuses on engineering novel biomaterials and devices for enhanced cancer immunotherapy and gene therapy. He has published over 70 papers, including in Nature Nanotechnology, PNAS, Nature Biomedical Engineering, and is a co-inventor of seven patents. Chee Kong Yap is working as a full professor at Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) since 2021. Prof Yap is an academician for more than 18 years at UPM and 23 years as a researcher. Prof Yap has supervised more than 80 undergraduates and 30 postgraduate students in the fields of ecotoxicology, environmental biology, environmental sciences, water quality and ecotoxicological genetics. Dr. Ashok also worked in Reliance Industries Pvt., Ltd., Mumbai (Biorefinery for biofuels and bioproducts division). He also extensively worked on value-added bioproducts, biomass thermochemical techniques, torrefaction, and biochar synthesis, bio-jet fuels, and metallic iron production. Dr. Ashok is also expertise in biofuels, biorefinery, wastewater treatment using microalgae, and CO2 sequestration. He serves as the Managing Guest Editor/Guest editor in Elsevier journals (Fuel (IF 8), Journal of Biotechnology (IF-3.52), Environmental Technology and Innovation (IF-7.5)), academic Editor- PLOS ONE (IF-3.5), Editor- Bioengineered journal (IF-6.8), and Springer journals (IF-7.74). Dr. Witmans is a Board Certified Sleep Specialist who also subspecializes in pediatric pulmonology. Originally from Slave Lake, Alberta, Dr. Witmans completed her medical training at the University of Saskatchewan, her residency in Pediatrics and her Fellowship in Pediatric Respirology at the University of Calgary, Alberta Children's Hospital. She subsequently completed additional fellowship training in Pulmonology and Sleep Medicine at the Children's Hospital in Los Angeles, California. Pedram Mohseni received the B.S. degree from the Sharif University of Technology, Tehran, Iran, in 1996, and the M.S. and Ph.D. degrees from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, MI, USA, in 1999 and 2005, respectively, all in electrical engineering. In 2005, he joined Case Western Reserve University, Cleveland, OH, USA, where he is currently the Goodrich Professor of Engineering Innovation and the inaugural Chair of the Electrical, Computer, and Systems Engineering (ECSE) Department. He also holds a secondary appointment in the Biomedical Engineering Department. He has authored two book chapters and over 130 refereed technical and scientific articles. He holds 8 issued and pending patents. His research interests include analog/mixed-signal/RF integrated circuits and microsystems for neural engineering, wireless sensing/actuating systems for brain-machine interfaces, interface circuits for micro-/nano-scale sensors/actuators, and point-of-care diagnostic platforms for personalized health. Dr. Mohseni was a member of the Technical Program Committee (TPC) of the IEEE Radio Frequency Integrated Circuits Symposium from 2012 to 2015, IEEE Custom Integrated Circuits Conference from 2012 to 2019, and IEEE International Solid-State Circuits Conference from 2017 to 2021. Rossana Madrid is EE and Ph.D. in Bioengineering. She is currently Full Professor of Biomedical Transducers and Biosensors and Microsystems of the Biomedical Engineering Program, and also at the Doctoral degree, at the Faculty of Exact Sciences and Technology at the University of Tucumán, Argentina. She is Principal Researcher at the National Council of Scientific and Technical Research of Argentina (CONICET). She has published R&D papers in national and international journals, two chapters in books and has developed four patents. She leads research grants and international cooperation grants with two German Universities. Her main research fields include sensors and biosensors, microfluidic systems and paper-based POC devices for biomedical and environmental applications.
